You're tuned into Reviving the Stylist, a business podcast for hair stylists looking to build a dream career that creates financial freedom and flexibility. I'm your host, Kristen lumir. And as a stylist, I've had my share of successes. Building a successful six plus figure business working only three days a week while being able to prioritize my family, travel and buy my dream home. I know it doesn't sound easy, but if you put in the work, I guarantee you'll see results. No matter what your goals are. I'm super stoked that you're here so I can help you crush them. Let's start today's episode.

Well, hello, friend. And welcome back to a another episode on the podcast. I'm really excited for this one. Because I think a lot of stylists don't really consider this side. And I'm really excited to just dive a little bit further in now this is going to be a shorter episode, because I'm just going to deliver something that you really, really needed to hear something that you've maybe never thought about never considered and you never hear anyone talk about in our industry. And that is the stylist experience. We hear about the client experience or the guests experience all the time in our industry, we hear about it from educators, we hear about it from brands, we hear about it everywhere, the client experience, because the client experience is really important, right? It's important because if you have a great client experience, you're going to receive a lot of referrals, your that client is going to come back, they're going to brag about you to their friends, when people stop and ask them about their hair like in Target or wherever they're shopping, they're going to tell them about you, they're going to write your reviews, they're going to do everything in their power to give you love, because they love their experience so much. Now that is incredible. But what I want you to also think about is your experience behind the chair. This is the piece that I want you to repeat to yourself every single day, when you get up in the morning, every single time you have someone who wants to schedule who you don't feel quite right about who their vibe is kind of throwing you off, is that your experience behind the chair is just as important as your clients experience. And what I mean by that is that if you don't love what you do, and when I say what you do, I mean going into your space, you're not like energize the vibe there, you just can't get enough of it, you're so excited. You just want to go in and do hair and just be in that space. In that time. If you don't feel that way, every single day you walk into your space, then something is off, your vibe is off. If you're thinking to yourself, Man, I just like wish I didn't have to go to work or you see that specific client on your books and you're thinking to yourself, Man, I really wish I didn't have to do that person tear today, I want you to remember that your experience in your space is just as important as your clients. And when I say that, I mean that if you have those feelings which I have had those feelings, which those feelings are burnout, by the way, I have had those feelings so many times. And when I finally decided that my experience within my space was just as important as my clients experience, that's when things changed. That's when I decided, okay, I see this person on my books. I don't like doing their hair because they make me feel this way or they bring this negative energy, or whatever it was. It gave me the strength that I needed and the willpower that I needed to say, No, I can't do that person's hair, because they are throwing off my vibe. And anytime I see that person on my books, I constantly just don't want to go into the salon and I'm not looking forward to their appointment. Now, when that happens, That's so unfair to you and to that client because you have to think about it this way. Even though that client might drive you crazy because maybe she seems like she never likes her hair. She never tips or you can never get like a feel for her or she constantly complains even though she absolutely refuses to go anywhere else. Kind of one of those things. There is a stylist out there who will appreciate that person and that person will appreciate them too. And it is okay to say that I am not the stylist for everyone because trust me I am not I am not the same as for everyone and I do not want to be the sales for everyone. I want to attract a certain person into my space. Because like attracts like that's a lot of it. traction, and I have a specific vibe, I have a specific like routine that I like to go through, I have a specific way of doing things. And if someone is not aligning with my vibe, or if we're not feeding off of each other as positive energy in a way that leaves me feeling re energized you to lose clients when they come and they are in your chair, and you're done with the appointment and you just feel so like energized, you feel ready to like, take on anything you feel like are the greatest hairstyles, which you definitely are, you feel incredible, and you feel just so excited to continue. But when you have that bad client, or even just a client who sucks, who just drains you emotionally drains you in every way and sense of the term. And you leave just feeling like defeated, you feel like your glass is half empty, and you aren't excited to go back to work the next day, you literally leave and you think man, I have to go back to work at like eight o'clock, or I have to go back to work at 10 o'clock or whatever it is, get that the heck out of your space. And only allow people in your area who are going to recharge you and leave you feeling like you are energized. That is so incredibly important. And I want to stress that to you, I really, really want to stress out to you because it is so so incredibly important that you have your space like that. And that is the thing that silence Just don't think about that your experience is just as important as your clients experience. And I guarantee that if you start thinking that way, you're going to realize and you're going to make moves in a direction that you're actually going to be able to like look at yourself, look at your business and say, Wow, from a year ago, my entire outlook on my career has completely changed and it has changed for the positive. Now one thing I know is really hard is letting go of those clients who feel like they drain you, because you are worried that you're not going to be making enough money, while I'm actually going to be teaching a free class. And if you're listening to this episode around the time that it goes live, then I want to invite you to my free class, which is called How to build a clientele that is higher paying or how to build a higher paying clientele, I want to invite you to register for that free class is gonna be live on May 29, at four o'clock pm Central Standard Time. Now this class, like I said, is 100% free, it's gonna be about 45 minutes to an hour of your time. And if you're not able to join me live, you can actually go and watch the replay as long as you register, I'll send you the replay. So that way you can watch it and it'll be open for about 72 hours after it records. So I absolutely want to invite you to listen and join that free class. Now even though it's about building a higher paying clientele, what it really is about is building those dream clients and figuring out a sustainable way to build that clientele. So that way you don't have to stress about you're vibing off because for me my vibe, if it was not right, then I felt horrible, I left the salon, I left my suite, and I would come home and I would just my energy would be off my kids would feel it, my husband would feel it. And it's so important that your vibe is right. So if you want to get your vibe, right, join me for that class, because it's going to be pretty dang awesome. I'm literally so excited about it. I'm working on it. Right now actually, after I record, I'm going to be working on it more, and just going over everything so I can make sure I deliver such incredible impactful lessons and tips and my framework and my methods on how to do this. Now in a few episodes, I'm also going to go over the law of attraction, which is going to be part of the class. But that's something that lifestylz also don't think of, and I'm not going to go like super deep into it. But I just want to press that point again, that your experience within your space is just as important as the client experience. And I guarantee that if you also put your experience as a high priority right along next to your clients experience, you're going to be able to service your clientele so much better than you have been. You're going to feel revived in your career. Instead of feeling like it drains you. You're going to step away from burnout and you're going to step into your rejuvenation into your recreation. You're literally going to be a Phoenix, you're going to rise from the ashes and you're going to be a flame that attracts seriously every incredible client that you've ever dreamed of. That is so important. And I just want you to think about that. Have that been your mantra literally you're just swinging your legs off a bed in the morning or bad to get your coffee, you're about to drive to Starbucks, whatever it is, I want you to stop. I want you to close your eyes. And I want you to take a deep breath. And I want you to say to yourself, my experience in my space is just as important as my clients experience. And then I want you to work towards making your experience incredible. Now I'm going to leave you on that friend and I'll see you next time.
