Hey. It's G. Edwards again. Gonna dive again into some more controversial stuff because it seems to be kind of the path I'm on at this moment. I was talking to our killer robot friends, the AI here, and basically using it for just kinda bouncing thoughts off of.
Speaker 1:And I'll dive more into that later, but if you ever get a chance, just pull up an AI, pull up a chat GPT or something like that, and just talk to you about something you're interested in. Just keep asking questions and you'll be surprised. It'll come back with some pretty insightful answers, which is why it's gonna be changing absolutely everything very soon, which we'll delve more into that later on. But for now, I was discussing the difference between conservatives and liberals. And I consider myself a conservative Midwest guy, but I've always been kinda like want to know how we can can we cook it down to just one or two, you know, little points that say, this is what a conservative is, this is what a liberal is mindset type thing.
Speaker 1:So after dealing with the killer robots for a little bit, it came back with a line that I found I found really interesting. If I fully a 100% believe it, but I like the way it put it and I wanted to share it with you. It says that conservatives are the ones who guard the fort. They're the ones who keep the homeland safe. They are the the the guards, the what the the guys stationed on the wall who are keeping the bad guys out, you know.
Speaker 1:And the liberals are the ones who want to travel to the farther off lands and who aren't necessarily the the ones guarding the home base. Now I'm not sure if I fully believe all of that, but I love the way it's put it, and it does answer more than a few questions I've always had about it. Now, is there a right way or a wrong way I wanna cover at the bat? No. It's just different mentalities.
Speaker 1:If your mentality is focused on guarding the fort and keeping the homeland safe, then that's what your, I guess, number one goal would be in the actions and things that you try to do. Now, we can argue, we can see that now with things like getting rid of illegal immigrants and, you know, military in the streets and really guarding the homeland and the post nine eleven, you know, all that kind of stuff like that. Possibly. And the liberals are the ones who want to travel beyond and and get different resources to keep the homeland alive and well. And I like to think that as long as we we can figure out this really high level mindset, we can it helps us understand better what people are going for or what they think they're going for.
Speaker 1:One other reason I like this quote of conservatives guard the fort and liberals travel beyond it is as a a former military member, I can tell you for, you know, for certainty that 95 ish percent of the military is conservative. And that's not a real stat and I can look it up, but I don't feel like it because I'm telling you I saw it in person. 95% is pretty conservative because running in the military, you are guard guarding the home base. You are the the protector of the homeland. Does that mean I mean, going far beyond our lands to protect homeland is protecting homeland.
Speaker 1:You know. That's what the conservative mindset of the military should be is we don't go to wars we don't have to if it doesn't protect the homeland in the end. And we got wrapped in enough things that we could never really connect down to the conflicts we're in and how did it actually protect the homeland. And did it and did that war create the next batch of terrorists who are gonna attack us later or create the next war, which I hit on wars if you're interested in getting the war thing on episode nine. But I love the idea.
Speaker 1:I love the concept that it said. Conservatives guard the home base, liberals travel beyond it. Let me break into even more controversial stuff. Say, imagine that you are a guard on the home base, and you've gotten the best arrows or the best whatever you're gonna get, you're gonna guard your castle, and you're the best guard there is. And you spend all day and all night, all your mind is on keeping this castle safe.
Speaker 1:And then you've got another traveler who's part of your community who goes off and you don't see him for a long time. Okay? They're pretty much forgotten about. But when they come back and they've gotten riches from other lands, as as a guard, you're suddenly you're now forgotten about. You're kind of, like, looked, oh, you know, this guy just came back from wherever and he has this.
Speaker 1:It's amazing. I think there's a little bit of resentment there. If I was a guard on the castle, would resent that guy who went out and traveled and yeah, he traveled a long way and he came back with some gold and so what that that's fantastic. But did he put in the hours that needed to guard the castle? No.
Speaker 1:He did not. Like, I think there's a little bit of resentment there. And I kind of like diving into that exploration part of it. So I'll just say that a lot of travelers do go out and to travel in other worlds and and they get themselves killed because they go into to dangerous areas and they meet other guards like me, and I'm like, I let you in. So I just wanted to share that fascinating little point that the killer robots taught me and I'm gonna dive more into that later.
