Facts
Bombay Bicycle Club – Turn The World On
- Back in June, we saw the title track to the band’s 6th studio album released along with the album’s announcement.
- Produced by the band’s vocalist/guitarist Jack Steadman, ‘My Big Day’ features collaborations with Damon Albarn, Jay Som, Nilüfer Yanya and Holly Humberstone. My Big Day is the title, it drops in full Oct 20.
HONEYMOAN – Seriously, Good Luck With That
- Another solid tune from a band that’s become a mainstay on our indie Tuesdays.
- This tune just released last week as a standalone single from the Cape Town-based group, curious if there’s an album on the way, but the band started just for laughs back in 2017 only to find international acclaim has yet to release a debut full-length thus far.
ivri – inversion
- This is an artist based in NYC who’s been creating massive earworms for the past several years.
- To put it mildly, ivri’s fans have been more & more obsessed with each stellar release, but the good news is there’s not much time to wait, as the artist will be releasing a debut EP in October titled “the star factory.”
Declan McKenna – Nothing Works
- We’ve seen a single drop earlier this summer with no announcement from McKenna, but the big shoe dropped with this single.
- With the release of Nothing Works last Friday, the artist announced that next year will see his 3rd career LP drop in February of next year, titled What Happened to the Beach?
Deeper – Sub*
Deeper – Fame
- So, one album that we’ve been very excited to hear is Chicago cult favorite group Deeper’s debut album on Sub Pop, which the group have been teasing with new singles over the summer.
- Admittedly, I got my dates a bit mixed up on this one, but as of Sept 8 the band’s album titled Careful dropped in full, and we’ll play a couple joints from the record to close the door on our first fourth tonight.

Part 2
Kate Bollinger – You At Home
Maple Glider – Two Years
Snail Mail – Easy Thing
Majid Jordan feat Naomi Sharon – Waiting For You
Munan – Comes in Two
Mali Velasquez – Shove
Paradise Blossom – glitter eyes

Facts
Kate Bollinger – You At Home
- One of our favorite VA natives is back with this standalone single after dropping a debut EP with Ghostly International titled Look At It In The Light, which got great reviews from the likes of NPR amongst others.
- This tune was produced in collaboration with Dave Longstreth of Dirty Projectors, and Kate is still on tour in the US almost constantly, and that will continue this fall as she joins Liz Phair’s 30th anniversary Guyville Tour, set to hit the road in Nov.
Maple Glider – Two Years
- This is from an album dropping in October titled I Get Into Trouble, which would be the sophomore LP for the Melbourne, Aus-based artist.
- I Get Into Trouble is a thematic expansion of her debut, going into greater and clearer detail, as she delves back into her Christian childhood while deconstructing her relationship to her body and her sexuality, alongside concepts of consent and shame.
Snail Mail – Easy Thing
- Speaking of sophomore LP’s, we’d previously seen this band release their own 2nd LP titled Valentine.
- Now, singer-songwriter Lori Jordan will release the Valentine Demos EP on Nov 3 via Matador, just announced with this release.
Majid Jordan feat Naomi Sharon – Waiting For You
- Pretty strong Sade & fall season vibes on this tune, a collab between OVO Sound artist Majid Jordan and Noami Sharon.
- Via their social media account, Jordan noted that, “We made something special with someone special.”
Munan – Comes in Two
- This is from a new EP that just dropped last Wednesday titled Tranquility.
- For those not familiar with the artist and based in Korea, you should get a little more familiar, as Munan is a Korean-Australian singer-songwriter based in Seoul, and this would be the artist’s debut solo EP after initially debuting as part of Chimmi.
Mali Velasquez – Shove
- This is a new singer-songwriter to us and surely much of the listening public out there is in the same boat.
- Mali Velasquez is based in Nashville, and this tune is part of her debut album I’m Green, which just dropped last Wednesday the 13th as well, so go give it a proper spin.
Paradise Blossom – glitter eyes
- This is an interesting duo that’s out of Fresno, CA and have been steadily putting out some great standalones this summer.
- The project of Tanh Nguyen and Steven Salazar, the song is described by the artists as “the butterflies of looking into someone’s eyes.”

Part 3
The Brook & The Bluff – Tangerine
A Beacon School – Alone
Ruby Haunt – Between Heavens
Fazerdaze – Bigger
Hotel Decor – I’m Not Laughing*
Lime Garden – Love Song
Hot Freaks – Lioness
Facts
The Brook & The Bluff – Tangerine
- This is a band down in sweet home Alabama, Birmingham to be specific.
- The quartet just released an album Friday called Bluebeard, which is their 3rd career LP, and for anyone wondering about the moniker, it is derived from the areas of Birmingham where the band grew up.
A Beacon School – Alone
- Dunno what it is about indie bands releasing albums last Wednesday, but this tune is another cut from one that dropped on the 13th called yoyo.
- The project is a solo affair based in NYC, masterminded by Patrick J Smith, and this is the 2nd album to be released thus far. Very good stuff we highly recommend.
Ruby Haunt – Between Heavens
- This band is a duo based in LA that just put out another Wednesday drop of an LP, of which this is the title track.
- The pairing of Viktor Pakpour and Wyatt Ininns was conceived in 2015, and since then they have put out 7 LP’s and 5 EP’s, and the band are currently hitting the road for a tour.
Fazerdaze – Bigger
- This is the project of Christchurch, NZ-based Amelia Murray, who’s currently undergoing a bit of a metamorphosis stylistically.
- This song in particular is about the pressure of being a musician, and the ambition to be in the public eye causing tension in Murray’s relationships.
Hotel Decor – I’m Not Laughing*
- Another great new single from a favorite of ours both on the artist and label front, with this out courtesy of Mammal Sounds.
- The Hotel Decorator is Canada-based Csaba Laszlo, heavily influenced by the sounds of the early 2000’s.
Lime Garden – Love Song
- Big announcement with this one, as the quartet known as Lime Garden are ready for their closeup with a debut LP on the way in Feb 2024.
- The record is called One More Thing, and the self-described “best band in the world” sums up their own bio, but we’d also hasten to state they hail from Brighton.
Hot Freaks – Lioness
- This is a veteran band that have been around for quite a while and hail from Minneapolis.
- After debuting in 2013 with their self-titled LP, it’s been a full decade since, and Friday saw their sophomore LP Hot Freaks Forever finally come to earth, and quite the descriptive title on that one, if we may be so forward.

Part 4
Good Morning – Dog Years
Old Man Canyon – Never Apart
Keni Titus – just keep driving
Truth Club – Uh Oh
Nation of Language – Sole Obsession
DPR IAN – So I Danced
PENDANT – PCM
Facts
Good Morning – Dog Years
- This band is the pairing of Stefan Blair and Liam Parsons, who hail from Melbourne in Oz.
- The two made debut back in 2014 with the Shawcross LP, and have since put out 5 albums overall. This latest tune is part of a 7” single that dropped a week ago today, with Queen of Comedy on the b side, with the band heading out for a North American tour later this month with Frankie Cosmos.
Old Man Canyon – Never Apart
- This is the solo project of Cody Briggs, who’s based in Vancouver.
- The song is the latest single to drop from the upcoming So Long Babylon LP, which will drop on Oct 27, and Never Apart is described aptly by Atwood Magazine as a dream of human connection and healing.
Keni Titus – just keep driving
- This is an artist out of LA that’s blipped our radar a couple of times this year, and this would be the latest dot on the screen.
- Naturally, Titus hasn’t just been making our sensors blip, as this is an on-the-rise artist to watch out for in the coming months & years.
Truth Club – Uh Oh
- This is a new single out from the Raleigh, NC-based band’s upcoming album releasing on Oct 6 titled Running from The Chase.
- If you’d like some more from the band in the meantime, check out their debut LP Not An Exit, which was a highly acclaimed record and one of our favorites for the year.
Nation of Language – Sole Obsession
- Just out Friday is the latest album from the veteran Brooklyn-based band titled Strange Disciple.
- The band this summer so far have been on an absolutely massive world tour that started with the first singles to drop from the album and will not finish until December, with support from Reggie Watts, Gustaf, and Miss Grit.
DPR IAN – So I Danced
- We wanted to rock this yesterday but we decided to give some artists that needed some oxygen a chance to breathe out.
- The visual for the new track follows the singer as he enters a whimsical, vibrant world where he leads a heist with a faceless figure, spiralling further into insanity, the main theme to the upcoming Dear Insanity EP, set to drop Oct 6.
PENDANT – PCM
- This is the project of Chris Adams, a former member of the noise band Never Again.
- Now, Adams plies the music trade in almost impossible to categorize ways, with the latest being PCM, which stands for Pendant Club Music and an ode to the club.
