Speaker 2:Well, good morning. Good morning. Hello, and welcome to Problem Corner. I'm your host, Wade Bryson, and Problem Corner is a community service of KINY. The purpose of the program is to swap and trade items noncommercially and to discuss issues that affect the community.
Speaker 2:Programs not intended for businesses or something that would require business license such as firewood sales or arts and craft or services like day care providers. The other restrict categories home sales and rentals. If you're in need of any of these services, you are more than welcome to call. We must restrict the sale and purchase of firearms, licensed gun dealers, other business owners are welcome to purchase advertising on Problem Corner. Alright.
Speaker 2:You can give me a call today. 586-1800. I got my trusty phone here right next to me. 586-1800. Come and join me.
Speaker 2:You can always send me an email to k I n y radio dot com. That'll just type that in. I'll go straight to our email. And you can always send me a text at five eight six one eight hundred five eight six one eight hundred. What questions do you have today?
Speaker 2:What topics are you curious about? Let's see if we can dive into a couple of fun topics. Wouldn't that be nice? Alright. If you got something fun that you think we could talk about today on this Thursday, the August 6, then send me a text 586-1800.
Speaker 2:Alright. I'll talk about the gloff later. Duck derby is coming up. We got the salmon derby but we also have the duck derby. And somebody remind me of the duck derby.
Speaker 2:Think they're begging me to buy some ducks. I don't think that you've ever been able to go to the radio station during Duck Derby season without having to buy some ducks here at the radio station. But even though they they everybody's very adamant that you buy a duck or a pack or a quack pack or whatever they call it. But when I heard what the I think I heard correctly that they're only selling 300 tickets. Is that correct?
Speaker 2:And so one in 300 is probably the single best odds that you could have for a lottery type thing like this. So if the if any, the Rotarians are out there and wanna talk a little bit about the duck derby, give me a shout 586-1800. But, one out of 300, I'll take those odds any day, for a lottery giveaway because the odds on other lotteries are significantly higher. I think the Powerball is closer to like one in 300,000,000. So one in 300 sounds great.
Speaker 2:I got a call. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 3:What's going on, Wade?
Speaker 2:Hey. Hey. What's going on, sir? I'm just, doing a little Thursday hosting. How are you?
Speaker 3:I'm doing great. I got some good things to say about the duck derby
Speaker 2:Please.
Speaker 3:Is those are great odds. And if you don't buy at least one duck I'm not a Rotarian here in this town even though I've been here, like, twenty five years. People
Speaker 2:should go buy a duck.
Speaker 3:Okay. Those odds are amazing.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 3:But the the reason I called is and this is a rare one. For free, zero charge. All you gotta do is come by with your pickup truck or whatever and pick it up. I have two Weber I'm walking out on my deck right now. Two Weber grills and a charbroil, smoker, and then also a KitchenAid grill free.
Speaker 3:Not not the propane tanks, but free.
Speaker 2:Alright. I
Speaker 3:I've got two big green eggs. I use those more than anything else, and I'm looking at these other grills like, why do I have these?
Speaker 2:I think you just read off, like, four plus your two you have six grilling equipment, six pieces of grilling equipment on your deck right now, Jeff?
Speaker 3:Yeah. Well, between the front deck and the and the aft deck, forward and aft deck, yes. And we're not even going to
Speaker 4:the boat. We're just talking about the house.
Speaker 2:Oh my gosh. Okay. I understand now why you're giving them away. And
Speaker 3:yeah. No. It's just it's like, you know what? I I I don't need them. I've collected them over the years.
Speaker 3:They're they're all in to be completely forward. They're in fair shape.
Speaker 2:Some of
Speaker 3:them have, like, brand new inserts, brand new grill plates. Some of them
Speaker 2:have rust,
Speaker 3:but they're free. And I've got four of them.
Speaker 2:Alright.
Speaker 3:One KitchenAid, two Weber's, one Brinkman smoker. They're all propane charged. The propane is not included. You have to have your own propane cylinder, which is not a big deal. But my number is 073217077073217077.
Speaker 2:Right on, man. Alright. Well, I look forward to the next time you're having a little grilling party with because somebody with four four outdoor grills, you have to have picked up some skills at some point. Right? Do you have
Speaker 3:You know, I I I I try I have two big green eggs that I play with.
Speaker 2:I do like your green egg.
Speaker 3:I I yeah. That's what I'm just that's what I use. So I'm like, why do I have all these other grills?
Speaker 2:Alright. Now my last question is do you have a Michelin star for either your green eggs?
Speaker 5:Not
Speaker 3:yet. For the green eggs? The Michelin star, the way that works is quite interesting. It stays with the restaurant,
Speaker 4:not with the chef.
Speaker 2:Okay.
Speaker 3:So the the chef itself can say, I worked at a Uh-huh. Michelin Star restaurant, which I have, and that's a conversation for over a cup of coffee sometime.
Speaker 2:Yes, sir. I was just teasing you a little bit. I'm alright. Jeff, great chatting with you. Thanks for giving me a call.
Speaker 2:Let me give away your, grills and smoker.
Speaker 3:Sounds great, man. You have a great day.
Speaker 2:Alright. Good talking to you. We'll catch up soon.
Speaker 3:You too, buddy.
Speaker 2:Bye. Alright. So, two Weber grills, a smoker, and a KitchenAid grill. (907) 321-7077. (907) 321-7077.
Speaker 2:And he's got those for free. I don't know how you keep them as long. I've, somebody tried to call while I was talking with that gentleman. Give me a shout back. 586 line.
Speaker 2:586-1800. 586-1800. I have always used the little Aussie, the red square one that Fred Meyer sells them. I think Home Depot sells them. They're just, I don't know, maybe 20 inches square.
Speaker 2:And I use charcoal. I'm just an old school charcoal and little Aussie grill. I just love how the stuff tastes when you use charcoal with no chemicals on it. Just charcoal briquettes. I've definitely done all the other types of grilling over the years and, man, nothing just gives that taste of just raw charcoal with no lighter fluid on it.
Speaker 2:Now I know those are very strong words for for people who are adamant about their, their grilling. So if you have a strong position on, what's gonna give you the best grilling taste, by all means, give me a shout. I'm gonna take a little commercial break. When I get back, I hope to talk to you about some grilling techniques or we can talk about other stuff. I'll be right back with more Problem Corner on KINY.

Speaker 8:I'm Bill Walker, lifelong Alaskan and candidate for governor. Alaska faces one of its biggest challenges in state history. Alaska is running out of natural gas, and Alaskans could face dramatically higher energy costs within just a few years. The good news is that Alaska's gas line projects are moving forward today. We need experienced leadership to bring the gas line to completion.
Speaker 8:As governor, working with the Trump and Obama administration, I help build the relationships and secure the agreements to put Alaska's gas line on the global stage. I understand the projects, the markets, the challenges, and the opportunities. That's why I've teamed up with former revenue commissioner Randy Hoffbeck, an expert on some of the most difficult financial pieces of the project. Together, we have the experience to lead Alaska through this critical period. This election is about solutions, not slogan.
Speaker 8:We don't need to start over. We we just need to finish the job. I'm Bill Walker. If you believe Alaska needs experienced leadership to secure our energy future, I'd be honored to earn your vote.
Speaker 9:Paid for by Walker Hoffbeck for Alaska. PO Box 90153, Anchorage, Alaska 99509.

Speaker 1:You're listening to Problem Corner on KINY, bringing neighbors together for generations. From the days of Dennis Egan to today, we're proud to continue the tradition of lively debates, community insights, and local connections here on KINY.
Speaker 2:Alright. Welcome back to Problem Corner. Go ahead and give me a call here. 586-1800. 586-1800.
Speaker 2:I was talking about grilling and I was definitely I'm definitely a big fan of just raw charcoal cooking your hamburgers or your steaks because to me that just is the best flavor. Do you have other strong opinions about it? Are you a smoker and you think things taste better after what fifteen hours in your smoker? If you've got 2¢ on that, by all means, give me a shout here. Good morning.
Speaker 2:Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 5:Yeah. Good morning.
Speaker 2:Morning, sir.
Speaker 5:I called yesterday, and I was trying to get my boat in from Malgar Harbor.
Speaker 2:Oh, yeah. Any luck?
Speaker 5:Yeah. No luck at all. The guy that was throwing the boat in the bearing went out on him at T Harbor, and he just left it there. So my problem now is to try and get it here. I do I did buy the parts.
Speaker 5:I don't have any tools. So and I I don't have the know how. Also, I'm disabled. So if I can get some help today, that'd be really help me out. I can probably go through step by step.
Speaker 5:I heard a gentleman say that he could do it step by step or I could go he can help me with it.
Speaker 2:Alright. So you said you do have the parts?
Speaker 5:I do have the part.
Speaker 2:Excellent. What's your phone number? And let's see if we can somebody have somebody help you out.
Speaker 5:Alright. (907) 419-9275.
Speaker 2:9275. Where'd you end up finding the bearings?
Speaker 5:Napa.
Speaker 2:Oh, wonderful. Okay. So one of the suggestions works. Love it.
Speaker 5:Yeah. Yeah. I can find them at Napa.
Speaker 2:Alright. Well, let me refresh everybody, and I'll see if they can get get somebody to come help you out.
Speaker 5:Yeah. I don't have any tools. That's my problem right now.
Speaker 2:That does sound like a problem. Yeah.
Speaker 5:That's one thing after the next would be a thing.
Speaker 2:Alright. Well, let me see if Good Samaritan's out there that can help you out and hopefully has the right tools.
Speaker 5:Alright. Thank you.
Speaker 2:You are welcome. Alright. So this gentleman has a galvanized trailer that has an 18 foot Lund on it, and one of the wheel bearings is busted and it's left out near Malga on the side of the road. He has the parts, but no tools, no know how. If you can help that gentleman out, (907) 419-9275.
Speaker 2:419-9275. How about give me a shout if you've got something to talk about or problem you have or something you wanna get off your chest? Give us a call here at (907) 586-1800. I saw a picture of a car in the water at Echo Cove. Does anybody was it fake?
Speaker 2:Was that a real thing? Is there a car in the tide zone at Echo Cove? I hope not. That is definitely are definitely fish in Echo Cove. And I would hate for some environmental catastrophe to happen because a bone had left a car in the tidal zone.
Speaker 2:Hopefully, that wasn't a real thing. But if you know anything about that or if you've seen a picture confirmed it, share with us here what should be the consequences of somebody leaving a car in the, title zone instead of disposing of it at Skookums for free. If you know more about that, give me a shout. Let me know. I got a call.
Speaker 2:Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 13:Hey, Wade. Morning. Morning. You mentioned that car out there. I've called me and somebody else were out there, and it's out there.
Speaker 2:You're kidding.
Speaker 13:It's no. Whoever owns it, people, come and get it. That's private property. You need to get it out of there.
Speaker 2:Wow. Where exactly is it located? So if you're standing on the boat ramp looking at the water, is it on the right side or the left side?
Speaker 13:You go to the left side. You know, like, you wanna go to Echo Bay Camp there?
Speaker 3:Yep.
Speaker 13:I mean, go between those rocks are in so you're supposed to be opening. It shouldn't be a lot of people out there. But, yeah, it's out there pretty good and it's down you know, the tide will cover it when the tide comes in.
Speaker 2:Oh my gosh.
Speaker 13:They they, yeah, they sunk it pretty good.
Speaker 2:Wow.
Speaker 13:So message again, pass it around people. It's that's all private property out there. Go get that out of there. Because if they find out who you are, it's a it's a thousand dollar fine.
Speaker 2:Okay. Hey. I appreciate you, filling us in on that, sir.
Speaker 13:Okay. Wait. Thank you.
Speaker 2:Hey. Thank you. No. That's super helpful. So we did confirm that is a real picture.
Speaker 2:It's a white Chevy Chase vacation style station wagon. That's the word I was looking for. So it's definitely a bad thing all around. Alright. 586-1800, you got 2¢ on that or any of the other topics that we're chatting about.
Speaker 2:586-1800. I got a text here. Oh, this is for everybody. The Juno Electric Company, AEL and P, should advertise that they have moved back to their Lemon Creek office. They were located, over there by, GCI on what's that road?
Speaker 2:Off of Crest Street. So they ALMP had to temporarily move their offices, their customer service office, because they did some renovations to the entrance of the ALMP building. The beginning no. Say probably mid July, they made the switch back. So their ALMP customer service or payments, you can now go back to, the regular AEL And P Building that is, on the same road going to the dump.
Speaker 2:So thank you for letting us know. Yes. I think every one of us that does something with the electric company that finds a reason to drive there drove to the old location, found out that they were at the temporarily over by the airport. And now if you go over by the airport, they are back in their main office. Well, there you go.
Speaker 2:Thanks for reminding help me remind everybody of that. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 14:Hello, Wade. Hello. How's your day going?
Speaker 2:It is phenomenal. How are you?
Speaker 14:Steady. Hey. I got a question.
Speaker 2:Sure.
Speaker 14:The derby coming up. Is there anything that's gonna be done to make the derby enjoyable for the participants with the whale watch? Huge waves in the in the unenjoyable time in off bay and the whole thing about the loading zone and all that. Is there anything else gonna be done about that this over this derby?
Speaker 2:I have not read any specific intervening government entity that would alter people's rules. So I haven't heard of anything like that. That doesn't mean that the boating community didn't receive a message of their own. I just haven't heard of anything that
Speaker 3:Yeah. Is doing that.
Speaker 14:It's just it's just so much turbulent water out there that it's just not gonna be enjoyable at all. There's people already saying they don't even wanna launch their boats because they can't even stand up in their boats because all the waves is off bay.
Speaker 4:Okay.
Speaker 14:A thought.
Speaker 2:Right on.
Speaker 14:Have a good day, Wade.
Speaker 2:Hey. Thanks for giving us a shout. If anybody knows if any like, memos or, like, notifications went to every boat has to be registered. I would imagine so that they, like, have the identity of the owner of the boat and same as you get mail for your car needing to have, like, it's license renewed or it's registration renewed. I would imagine that boats have the same sort of mechanism.
Speaker 2:Does anybody know of a communication from the DMV to boat owners asking about this? Or did anybody from, the Golden North territorial sportsman, if any of those guys are out there listening, did any territorial sportsman board officers reach out to tourism best management practices would have been probably a great one to contact. Who knows? Maybe a phone call got made. Maybe it's as simple as a phone call being made.
Speaker 2:If you have any information that would kinda clear that up for us, by all means, send it to me here at 586-1800 and I will share that information with everyone. Okay. So this person would also they sent some information. There are so many fatal accidents, the Juno Fred Meyer Intersection that Fred Meyer should relocate in the Nugget Mall. Oh.
Speaker 2:That's not a bad idea because Fred Meyer Fred Meyer area has taken so many people's lives, other accidents due to that dangerous Fredmyer Intersection. So we've talked about this before while the Fredmyer Intersection is technically the most dangerous, intersection in Alaska, saw that on a report one time, the number of fatal accidents is not the highest. It does not have a high number of fatal accidents. It's the number is either one or none. I cannot get confirmation on that.
Speaker 2:The accident severity is great, and it it does have a very high rating. And I'm hoping that the Vanderbilt Hill Intersection rebuild is gonna do, something for the I wanted to say that I saw that the Fred Meyer Intersection was gonna be a controlled light intersection, meaning stoplight there. And so that is the Yan Dukan Intersection has been at the state DOT as they've been trying to develop a safer intersection for us that is a problem. And they've been working on it and they are trying to come up, you know, it looks like they have the design for the controlled light intersection. So the government is not gonna tell a private entity what they can do in the building that they own.
Speaker 2:The government entity is going to correct the intersection that is the government's responsibility. So hopefully that clears that up for you. It is super dangerous intersection, DOT is working on it. No precedent is involved that could make Fred Meyer relocate. Okay.
Speaker 2:But with that, I'm gonna go ahead and take the bottom of the hour break. I'll be right back with more Problem Corner on KINY.
Speaker 1:You're listening to KINY. Connect on Facebook and stream at kinyradio.com.
Speaker 15:ABC News. I'm Brian Clark. A senate committee voted to hold doctor Anthony Fauci in contempt of congress for refusing to answer questions about the COVID nineteen pandemic. The committee's chair, Rand Paul, says he'll refer the vote directly to the attorney general, sidestepping the usual precedent of a full senate vote.
Speaker 16:And really doesn't have to go before the senate. There is some precedent for doing it that way, and it still may be done that way. But for now, we will hand carry this over to the attorney general.
Speaker 15:There's new pressure on Republican congressman Max Miller of Ohio. The state's other Republican senator, John Houston, said he believes dropping out would be in the best interest of Miller's family. Miller has been involved in a custody dispute with his ex wife, the daughter of Ohio's Republican senator Bernie Marino. Health officials in Michigan say people in the state can resume their regular lettuce eating habits because cyclosporiasis cases are declining. Michigan saw the bulk of the nationwide uptick in the parasitic illness.
Speaker 15:This is ABC News.

Speaker 18:Wow.
Speaker 19:There's also French toast, a ham and cheese omelet, and, oh, they got a BLT and fries now.
Speaker 17:Okay. We're coming here every day.
Speaker 19:Don't have to tell me twice.

Speaker 20:Prices may vary.
Speaker 1:Juno weather.
Speaker 21:We will have some patchy areas of fog this morning. And with a gradual clearing sky today, we should reach 66 for the high in a very light northwest wind. Tonight, mostly cloudy, our low in the low fifties, then widespread clouds on Friday with a high 66. Areas of scattered showers Friday night, shallow 53, cloudy and mid sixties expected on Saturday. Our next weather update is in less than thirty minutes.
Speaker 21:This is Juneau Media Center, meteorologist, Dan Holiday.
Speaker 7:Weather is brought to you by Salamander Exhaust Wraps, Alaska's premier exhaust insulation manufacturer.
Speaker 18:Mary Paltola served two terms in congress. She passed zero bills. Paltola voted against Alaska's energy jobs and against our defense bases. Now the do nothing congresswoman wants to raise our taxes. Mary Peltola can't win on the issues that matter to Alaskans.
Speaker 18:That's why she and the lower 48 liberals are lying about Dan Sullivan. Here's Kodiak hunting guide, Sam Rohr, to set the record straight.
Speaker 22:I've seen Dan Sullivan take a Kodiak brown bear down with one shot, and he brings that same toughness and focus to Washington. The lower 48 liberals, they're lying about Dan's record. Nobody fights harder for Alaska than Dan. He defends oil and gas to lower costs, creates Alaska jobs, and protects hunting, fishing, and our second amendment rights. His opponent, she was handpicked by the radical left.
Speaker 22:Alaska needs my friend, Dan Sullivan.
Speaker 23:I'm Dan Sullivan, and I approve this message.
Speaker 18:Paid for by Alaskans for Dan Sullivan.

Speaker 23:Decades of promises, decades of decline, enough. Alaska has a record number of candidates for governor, all promising what we wanna hear. More energy, cheaper energy, more jobs, but most of them have been there. They own the decline.
Speaker 4:We don't get fooled again.
Speaker 23:Leadership, it's not a promise. It's a record you can verify. Only one team has that record. Matt Halala and Jesse Sumner, one team with a record of actual performance, creating probably more jobs than all the other candidates combined. Matt Halala and Jesse Sumner, leadership.
Speaker 23:Your vote is not for best hair, best dressed, best BS. Your vote is to turn the state around. On August 18, vote Matt Halala and Jesse Sumner. Don't get fooled again. Paid for by Matt Halala for governor.com.
Speaker 2:My name is Matt Halala, and I'm running for governor.
Give me a call. 5861805861800. I'll get you on air here with me.
Speaker 2:This person has three kittens looking for a fur ever home, f u r. One black and two white kittens with blue eyes. If interested, text 321-2910. 321-2910. They have three kittens.
Speaker 2:Alright. 586-1800. You can send me a text or give me a call there. I did have a scam get presented to me. I've seen it a couple of times and I saw one this morning.
Speaker 2:That's what reminded me to share with you. They're text they're emailing me saying things like, here's your new insurance coverage binder or something, one of those phrases. Please click to check it out. Or you have an ACH payment coming to you, please click on the link so we can send you money. One just said, hey, your new insurance documents are right here.
Speaker 2:And what I knew not to deal with them is that they said, dear, and then they had my email address, and I knew they weren't talking to me. So I'll chat about that more in a minute. Oh, I got a call. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner.
Speaker 2:You're live and on the air. Could I get you to step away from the radio? What's going on?
Speaker 3:I just stepped away from the radio, Wade.
Speaker 2:Excellent. How are doing?
Speaker 3:When I was moving these grills and smokers, I came across, four cast iron I
Speaker 4:don't
Speaker 3:know if they're cast iron, but they're iron chairs that go outside. They've got a little bit of rust on them, but with a paint job, they'd look great. And I also have a pick pick set that has a glass top that's gorgeous. It's green. The the glass is clear.
Speaker 3:The table itself is green that supports it and four chairs that go with that, and they're also free.
Speaker 2:Oh, I hear clean house.
Speaker 3:9073217077321707. But, yeah, I'm just you you know when you get to a certain point in life and you just wanna downsize?
Speaker 2:I understand that. Yeah.
Speaker 3:Well, that's what I'm doing. I just came across that. And since you didn't have a caller, I was like, I'm gonna call him back.
Speaker 2:That's right. Well, let me get rid of your stuff for you, buddy.
Speaker 3:Alright. Thanks, man.
Speaker 2:Hey. No worries. Alright. So four cast iron chairs, free. Oh, man.
Speaker 2:Those things, last forever. Picnic set with four chairs as a glass tabletop, also free. Three two one seven zero seven seven three two one seven zero. Same gentleman has the two Weber grills, a smoker, and a KitchenAid grill. 321-7077.
Speaker 2:Alright. I was mentioning a little bit of scams, and what told me that it was a scam and this might help you in the future is that they said, dear, and then my email instead of saying, Wade. And so when they're just referencing my name as an email, that was giving me a hint and then I was trying to like, who is the email sent from? And one of them, the emails just never coincide with the scam that they're trying. And so if the the email that originated from doesn't make any sense, I'm not expecting an ACH payment, so that doesn't make any sense.
Speaker 2:They just keep trying everything they can to scam us. Just be aware. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 24:You should see some of my emails. I'm gonna get money from everybody.
Speaker 2:Oh, yes, ma'am. Wouldn't it be nice you just need a nickel for every one of those dollars they offer you. Right?
Speaker 24:Just don't say yes. Get rid of them right off.
Speaker 2:Yes, ma'am. Alright. So you know exactly what I'm talking about.
Speaker 24:Oh, yeah. Because the phone is full of it.
Speaker 4:I
Speaker 24:gotcha. Don't think it's really gonna happen, make sure you delete it. Excellent. I have a lot of stuff here.
Speaker 2:Yes.
Speaker 24:And I I have a, grandfather clock. It's a very nice one for sale. I have a couch that's a floral couch, but very comfortable and easy to deal with. Two twin beds, a piano bench. I have a beautiful Amish, I never say that right, Amish hutch cupboard.
Speaker 24:It's 58 wide and 82 tall, and it's cherry, and it is beautiful, and it's perfect. I have a Bradley smoker that I would like to sell, and then I I had a boat canvas business. That was Canvas Unlimited. I have a lot of materials and tools and zippers and etcetera I would like to sell at a very, very, very reasonable price. And, also, I have a lot of materials still left.
Speaker 24:I'm here at 1790 Fritz Coke Road, and I'll be here all day. And my telephone number is (907) 723-2901 and I really appreciate your show. Thank you very much.
Speaker 2:Well, wonderful you having your call. Can I ask you a question, a follow-up?
Speaker 24:Go right ahead.
Speaker 2:How much were you asking for the grandfather clock and how tall is it?
Speaker 24:Oh, it's as tall as the grandfather clock is supposed to be.
Speaker 2:Oh, really? So almost six feet tall.
Speaker 24:Let me see. I'm only about five five. Yes. I would say six feet.
Speaker 2:Wonderful.
Speaker 24:It's beautiful. It's just I don't think it'll travel well to New Hampshire.
Speaker 2:Oh, yes. Those big objects, fragile
Speaker 24:It's a long time, but they do do it. They take it apart and everything, so it could be moved fairly easily.
Speaker 2:Okay. And what are you asking for that grandfather clock?
Speaker 24:Oh, let me see. What was I asking for? I was asking for 500 or best offer.
Speaker 2:Excellent. Alright. Well, hey. That is awesome. Thank you for sharing.
Speaker 2:Let me announce your stuff and try and get somebody your way.
Speaker 24:Thank you very much. Hey.
Speaker 2:You take care. Alright. So, grandfather clock, a couch, two twin beds, a piano bench, a nice Amish hutch, and a Bradley smoker. 1097 Fritz Cove 7232901. 723-2901.

Speaker 19:Brought Democrats and Republicans together because Alaska families deserve better. Now I'm running for governor to support public schools, protect Medicaid and Medicare, and lower everyday costs to get Alaska back on track. Paid for by JKT for Alaska.
Speaker 4:Me to Taku. Lift me high.

Speaker 1:Now back to Problem Corner where our community meets to talk, trade, and share.
Speaker 2:Alright. Welcome back to the last segment of Problem Corner. Give me a call here. 5861805861800. I asked the question earlier in the show, is there a better tastier way to grill your grilling products?
Speaker 2:Whatever you like to throw on the grill. I've tried different ways over the past. I've tried propane. I've tried like a propane with charcoal mix. I've tried charcoal with lighter fluid, charcoal in one of those I think they call them a chimney where you put paper underneath it and that gets your charcoal going.
Speaker 2:And my latest and most fun way to get my charcoal going, my wife was kind enough to get me what's the best way to describe? A weed burner that is in a convenient carrying case or a carrying shape. It's got a handle, it's got a trigger. It's a weed burner that when you pull the trigger, hopefully, your neighbor understands what I'm saying, that the flame can shoot out almost 24 inches. And so you make a pile of charcoal and then blast it with a flamethrower and within a moment or two, your charcoals have caught on fire themselves.
Speaker 2:And I contend that cooking meat or tofu, you can join in the conversation too if you don't like meat, that's fine. Pescatarian, that's fine. Fish too. But I'm gonna contend that charcoal is the best grilling method. And so, like I'm really poking at you if you think that there are other strategies that are better ways to grill.
Speaker 2:By all means, give me a shout and we can chat about it because a flamethrower and some charcoal briquettes, man. I can't wait to eat tonight. I think that's what I'm gonna have to go do. And if you're getting any ideas or you want to chat with me about it, you can find me out during the day and I can elaborate a little bit more on it. Okay.
Speaker 2:So I was saying that because we had two smokers for sale on the program. One is located at 7232901. And and then my buddy Jeff has the the Weber grills, the smoker, and the KitchenAid three two one seven zero seven seven. Alright. A few minutes left in the show.
Speaker 2:Anybody wanna talk about grilling strategies. I must have gotten it correct on the first time because anytime I say something correct and nobody calls, I must be on to something. And then I would be remiss if I did not bring up glacial lake outburst flooding. We are within the time period, that the basin is at capacity or very close to capacity and we will, start to see the release event happen within the next few days is when the predicted start. Maybe we get into next week, before the release happens.
Speaker 2:I heard one of the ads that, mentioned being prepared to leave so that one, you're clear of the street and you're safe. But two, the other concern is that if the roads are flooded, emergency services cannot get to you. And I wanted to elaborate on that just a little bit that the lake or I'm sorry, Mendenhall River has duckbill storm drain outlets, meaning that they close to not let water back up. Debris can knock those things off. It happened to one.
Speaker 2:So make just because you're cleared, if you're in the evacuation route, take it serious even if you're not directly connected because some of those storm drains could flood and that would be the problem that you'd face. Alright. Let's try this one. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner.
Speaker 2:You're live and on the air.
Speaker 24:Good morning.
Speaker 2:Good morning.
Speaker 24:I'm so glad for this show. Oh, good. Everybody's been doing a really great job. I just really enjoy listening to this program.
Speaker 2:Oh, good.
Speaker 24:I'm just calling because I got just one really quick thing to say. It's not gonna be really a discussion, but I have a scanner thing thing that I downloaded on my phone.
Speaker 2:Yep.
Speaker 24:And I love the scanner. It's great. I gotta say, APD, the paramedics, the fire people, everybody has been so busy since the July 3 or since the July 4. I mean, hearing everybody needs to calm down. You know?
Speaker 24:There's there's way too much, you know, drugs and alcohol. There's way too many crimes and stuff being committed, and then this is what? The third car and, you know, found, you know, wherever the one off Douglas, and I just heard you guys talking about one today.
Speaker 2:Yep.
Speaker 24:You you know? And BPD should really be arresting these people. And I'm like, arrest them? You don't have to hold them at Lemon Creek. Give them a court date.
Speaker 24:And I'm saying the judges, they should be pounding community hours and enforcing them so that they can pick up all the garbage that's all over you know, going down the highway, there was so much garbage and stuff.
Speaker 2:And then the water idea of the day.
Speaker 24:With the with the general the general cleanup that they had because there was still so much snow on the ground. But they should really be arresting people, and they should be giving out community hours and enforcing the community hours to get these people they can they can pick up the garbage because I'm sure some of them, you know, has littered it. Alright.
Speaker 2:Hey. Well, thanks for calling and giving us your 2¢.
Speaker 24:Alright. Thank you so much for the program. Have a great day.
Speaker 2:Alright. You have a great day as well. Little frustration with a criminal element. In my experience with JPD, I learned to well, learn lots of stuff. But one of the things that I learned is that Juneau has a culture of listening to the scanner unlike any other city.
Speaker 2:The number of scanners present in our population is higher than any other place that the Juno police officers have seen. Everybody loves listening to their stuff. Good morning. Welcome to Problem Corner. You're live and on the air.
Speaker 14:Yeah. Yeah, Wade. Hey. You know, there's, all these junk cars. The the issue is that the police don't go after the person that it's in you know, entitled to because a lot of the people buy a car for cheap, and then they don't put it in their own name.
Speaker 14:Ain't that right?
Speaker 2:That does happen. It is one of the the setbacks of it, which is so sad because they could literally dispose of it for free if they took it to ski caps.
Speaker 4:That's that's
Speaker 2:mind blowing.
Speaker 14:Like the one that's out there at the Mormon church. I saw that driving around the day before it got dumped there. You know? And Oh. I I looked at that, and I said, that car is gonna be wind up in somebody's backyard or something, you know, along the highway somewhere.
Speaker 14:And sure enough, next day, there it is. Yep. But what what they need to do is people and this was suggested on your program a long time ago. I don't know. JPD ought to go after the owner, and and that would really cause an uprising at first.
Speaker 14:But people should do what someone suggested on Problem Corner a while back was take the license plate off your vehicle, tell the people go get it registered in your name,
Speaker 13:and you
Speaker 14:can come back with a with a registration. You won't have a title because that has to take weeks. I'd come back with a registration in your name, and I give you the plates. You know?
Speaker 3:Not a bad idea.
Speaker 24:Wait.
Speaker 2:Yeah. Actually, you don't they don't wouldn't even have to go back to the person. If you show up and get a car registered because you just bought it, they will give you a free license plate. So removing the license plate is a surefire way. That is my new favorite idea of the day because then they're forced to get the car registered because they can't drive it without Forced.
Speaker 2:Yeah. Sir, this is by far the best piece of information I've gathered today. Thank you so so
Speaker 14:very You're welcome.
Speaker 2:Yeah. Into the show. Thank you. Alright. That's my buddy.
Speaker 2:I really love it when we're on the same page. But how neat an idea is that when you sell a car? Real simple. Remove the license plate, and they have to get the car registered in their name, and they get a free license plate. So it doesn't even cost them anything extra.
Speaker 2:They'll get, like, the bear in the center of the license plate for free, and they'll have to register in their own name. I think all of us collectively got a little bit smarter with that piece of information. Well, there you go. That's gonna do it for Problem Corner today. I think for my week as well here.
Speaker 2:Remember, on Problem Corner, there are no such thing as problems, just solutions we've yet to discover. Oh, got stuck up there. We just solutions we've yet to discover. Have a great rest of the day. I'm Wade.
Speaker 2:I'm out of here.
