Full show transcript:
Have I got news for you? Let's hear it. Cody Brown and his wife Robin Brown have officially left the Sister Wives show. Oh, that's old news. This was new news.
No, this is this happened like a week ago. No, this is new news. No. Yeah.
I just got it this morning. Well, this is new news.
No, they announced it a while ago. It's new news. Okay, to you.
Sixteen years they've been on the uh TLC reality series. And now you and your mom, especially, um, have watched a lot of things.
My mom has for sure.
Yeah. And uh apparently their absence is becoming a major focus on the season 21 premiere that happened yesterday. So that's why this is new news because the new season premiered yesterday.
Without him, or this is their last season?
Without them. without them. Okay. TLC previously announced that the couple would not return, but has not disclosed a reason for their departure. They said the reason. What was the reason?
The reason was they had to take a step back. It was becoming too toxic, and they didn't want to give any more fodder for his other wives to talk about. I see. And they needed to focus on their personal lives.
Well, the other wives, Christine, Janelle, and Mary expressed surprise over the decision.
No one's surprised by this. You could see this coming a mile away.
Christine called the development. She said, it's just bizarre. And Mary said that she was surprised, and Janelle said that she was very shocked.
Now what is shocked? Who was shocked? I wasn't shocked.
Well, the three uh, you know, wives.
The three ex-wives? They were They were very surprised. I feel like all of these women, there shouldn't be 21 seasons.
No, it should have ended a long time ago. It's the same episode over and over and over.
And and it's gotten to the point where they aren't even like there's no new development. No. They're sitting around in a living room. Yeah. As a group or one-on-one with an interviewer, rehashing old episodes. Correct. Like, and and when he said knife to the kidneys, how did that make you feel? Like a knife to the kidneys. That guy, Cody, what are you doing?
Well, it's it's not a show. It's not a show anymore, and it hasn't been for a long time. Yeah. You're not married anymore. So Sister Wives, you don't have any anymore. You have one wife. Right. They're not sisters anymore. Correct.
So But also he said his time with them wasted. I was thinking I should get that hair. What is that wet perm he wears? Can we can we just for a minute, like, what do you think I'd look like if I had the wet perm like coach?
And your hairline is at the top of your head?
Yes. Way back. And it's wet and curly.
And you put your sunglasses there to kind of hide it? That's what I do. I don't like it. No one likes it. Who likes that? No one.
Robin Brown likes it. Christine, Janelle, and Mary liked it. Liked it at one point. They were like, nah, I like this guy's hair. No, he didn't wear it wet and curly for a long time. He had that hair like pretty pretty straightforward.
It was straight.
He had it like pretty Fabio for a while. Not as long as Fabio. But he really held on to having that hair long for a long time. He still does. You should learn to go, my guy.
Yeah, just call it call it quits.
Well, season 21 kicked off last night. It will now center on the three former sister wives as they navigate their post-Cody lives and lingering family disputes.
Stop with the lingering. We've lingered.
This has got to be the last season, right? Like it has to be.
It has to be.
Have they milked it? Have they squeezed all the juice out of this?
Yes, six seasons ago.
You think it should have ended at 15, or what was that? This is 21, yeah, 15? Yeah. 15 seasons? For sure. Boy, oh bully. Enough.
Enough, guys. Call it quits.
That's the latest on the Sister Wives drama. Let's start today's show. Here's today's show. Oh, hi. Hello. Good morning. What's up? Um, you know, just another manic Monday. As the as the Bengals reminded us, it is uh it is a Monday morning.
Um, I wanted to start with some good news uh because this is a very, very cool story. A 12-year-old middle schooler in Phoenix, Arizona named Sloan, was just seven years old when she noticed there was a bare shelf at the local food bank, and the shelf was for diapers. And she learned that diapers were always among the most requested items, and that they had already run out. And so Sloane decided to do something about it. Five years later, with the help of her mom and volunteers, Sloan delivered a U-Haul truck full of diapers. Wow.
Yeah. This is all delivered to the Nourish Phoenix Food Bank. It's her yearly diaper drive, and it has grown since her first run at it. This year, she smashed her personal goal, donating more than 30,000 diapers to the Arizona uh uh Nourish Phoenix Food Bank. That's amazing.
Unbelievable. Uh Sloane's mom is understandably very proud and said, My little girl, she's just so special. She has such a big heart, loves helping and giving back. And I think that is so cool. That's amazing. She's 12 now.
When she was seven, she said, I gotta do something. That's not right. Pretty cool. And that's not right. That's right.
Well, Matilda style. But anyway, that's good for you, Sloan. Uh, very, very cool move on your part. And that's good news to get us going this morning to get the ball rolling to get us warmed up and ready for the day. Here we go. So thanks, Sloan.
We talked a little bit a couple weeks ago, even last week, about this club that I've created called the Sydney Roll Club. Yeah. And it's your idea. I turned it into a club, but it was your idea of trying all the cinnamon rolls in town. Right. And seeing which one is the best.
Yeah, and then you turned it into a club and then kicked everyone out of the club. No. And so now it's a club of one.
People voluntarily left voluntarily left. Because you didn't want to be a part of my club. Anyway.
I just want to eat cinnamon rolls.
Besides the point. We were at a friend's house this weekend and they made cinnamon roll cakes. Yes. Yeah.
And it was whole wheat. So it was healthy. How'd you feel about it? I liked it a lot. Tell me you got a recipe. No. How did you not get a recipe? Did you get a recipe? No. Why was it my responsibility? I just figured you would want me to make that, and you would have gotten a recipe.
That's no, but I can get the recipe. I am still in contact with that friend. That's good news. So I can still get the recipe. Yeah. It was so good.
It was very, very good.
A little bit homemade glazed. A little bit gooey. Yeah. It was delicious. I'll get the recipe.
It didn't count as a cinnamon roll from in town. Because it's a cinnamon cake, but it was very, very good. But it I don't think it counts for your cinnamon roll club. It certainly isn't one of many cinnamon rolls sitting in front of me to taste test at one time. So Okay. But I would eat it again. I think it was a nice so good.
I think it was a nice kickoff to Cine Roll Club.
You've already had cinnamon rolls that kicked off your Cine Roll Club. But you haven't. I'm not in a club. I want six cinnamon rolls in front of me one time so I can blind taste test them. That's my cinnamon roll tasting. test.
It's too complicated. Your method is too complicated.
Six cinnamon rolls in front of me at once. Yeah. Is not complicated.
What you're gonna just drive to all of these places and get your cinnamon rolls? Yep. Okay. Or you know what else I could do? What?
Is I could order six of them on Doordash and see which one arrives first. I'm not gonna do that. It's too expensive. But that would be a way. That wouldn't be a way.
Or there are four drivers in our house. So each of us could go to a different location.
Now you're making it involve too many people. I'm just gonna go get six cinnamon rolls and set them out, and I'm gonna eat them. With or without raisins. That's a good question. I prefer without. But if their staple like thing is like it comes with raisins, that's the one we make. I'm not I'm not gonna not try it. I do prefer a raisin less cinnamon roll. Here's an interesting thing. There used to be a lot more raisin foods than there are now. I've I feel like there were a lot more raisin foods when I was younger.
Raising cookies, raisins and cinnamon rolls, little raisin pies. No, yeah. I never remember those. The little raisin pies?
Mm-mm. They were like uh like a pocket, like a little pastry pocket filled with like cinnamon roll stuff and raisins just in a little pouch. What'd you find those at? They used to sell them at every grocery store for years. I do not remember those. Yeah. It's like a raisin pocket cookie thing. Did you eat them? I had one once. It was not my thing. Okay. It was too much raisin.
Well, a lot of people don't like raisins. So that's probably why they got rid of all the raisin food. I wonder why. Because people don't like them.
I feel like maybe raisin was a big way to sweeten things and put fruit and things like in the Great Depression. And so that generation that was prior to boomers.
So what is that? The silent generation. I feel like they were big raisin people. It's possible. And I think just as things have evolved, I think raisins aren't a big menu item. They're putting raisins in salads. I like racing. For fun.
I like crazins in salad.
That's cranberries. That's not even a raisin. It's a dried-out cranberry. It's delicious. Trying to steal raisin from grape, like grape didn't own it. Back off. Cranberries.
Poor raisin. I think Raisin's heyday is over. I think so too. Oh, poor raisin.
I think Sun Mate is still making them.
So yeah, I'm gonna give them out to the trick-or-treaters. Oh, they love that.
Every trick-or-treater loves a little box of raisins.
Go to that house. She's giving out raisins.
The big box, not the little tiny one. Give out the one that's like, you know, not quite a deck of cards, but pretty close. Give out those. Yeah. Big raisins. Wow.
How about a raisinette? Do you like those? Not really. Oh, I do.
Yogurt covered raisin, not my thing. See how many raisin things there were? So many. We were talking to our boss
over the weekend, and he mentioned to us that uh we talk too much.
All right. Now let's let's be real here. He was making jokes. Uh, because every time he tries to come down the hall to have a conversation during the show, uh, the light is on and we're talking. And so he's like, I can't even say good morning.
I just have to walk by because every time I come down there, the microphone is on. And he's like, could you play a song, maybe? And like I understand what he's saying to a point, but also I think we're paid to talk. So maybe that's a little bit confusing to me. Because I feel like I'm doing my job.
And there's probably a lot of people on his team that are like, yeah, you guys talk way too much.
I think he was being funny. I believe. We gotta we gotta wrap it up. Yeah. Well, that's enough for today. There are definitely uh some shows on the radio that uh talk less than we do. That is for sure. I would also say there are some that talk way more than we do.
Agreed. The guy down the hall. The K-bear guy?
Yeah. He talks a lot. And he's by himself. He shouts a lot, he rambles in his own brain. And he does yell a lot. He yells an awful lot for somebody who's in there by himself. Yeah, he does. What are you so mad about?
We gotta go ask. What's what's your beef, bud?
Yeah, why are you so angry all the time? Take a chew pill, buddy. What are you doing? I think it's all that music.
It is all that loud screaming, angry music. Play less of that, talk a little softer. Take a little calming song.
What's a calming song he could play?
I'm just looking at our like what's going on.
Oh, you wanted to play something from us.
Oh, he needs to play some classy songs for sure.
Oh that would that would fix it. It'll chill him down a little bit. I don't know if it would. It might make him more angry. What chills that guy down? What it would it take?
What do we gotta do? Hmm. Interesting. We'll talk about it. Yeah, well, anyway, I think as far as our boss is concerned, I don't think. Don't listen to him. I don't think he knows what he's talking about. No, you don't know. We're just gonna keep talking.
Yeah. So what do you want to talk about? Quit telling us what we're gonna do. Well, you what are you my boss?
You wanna to tell me to talk a less? Well, too bad. It was funny. I was telling a story, and it and it happened to be the story of how you and I met. And uh because he asked,
that was a long way to the whale. The whale a long way to the whale.
And apparently I took the longest route possible. But I felt like there was important information that needed to be conveyed before I got to like the the meat of the story. No, you always it was important. And so it was. It was important to the story. But after I got through the intro, the uh what do they call that in the beginning of a book? Not the introduction. The prologue?
That sounds is that prologue that's before the book? Uh-huh. Okay. And then epilogue is after. Got it.
All right. So yeah, the prologue. After I got through that part, I felt like he was like, I feel like I already read three chapters. Yeah. I'm a little tired.
Most of the time I tell the story of how we met. And I leave out things, and you go, No, you forgot that part. I go, it's not important to the story.
It's not important to the overall story. This time I let you take the lead. I go, you tell the story, because I always do. Never again. It was a long one.
Well, he threw in, hey, why don't you play a song real quick in the middle of me telling a story?
Well, it was long. Yeah, had a lot of detail. Not important detail.
I can paint a picture. You I tell you what.
Or you lose interest. People lose interest really quickly.
Maybe they'll quit asking me to tell stories. Yeah, maybe. Maybe that's the goal. They will. Maybe that's what I'm doing now. Is getting people to say, I shouldn't have asked.
I think they've got that gist. Cool. Don't do it then.
Don't ask me to tell you a story. Uh, that's got a lot of detail in it. I mean, I feel like that everything I said was important.
No, you could have left out some stuff. Yeah. I even got bored. Wow.
And you were part of it.
I'm part of it, but it was a little long.
I mean, I didn't talk about like what we were wearing or how the weather was or anything. Like, I feel like everything was relevant. Okay. If you say so. Apparently I'm wrong.
It was just long. You had a lot of detail. That's all. Important details. I don't think it was. Like what? Oh gosh.
You want to play a song? Is that the deal? What about it? You just want me to be quiet. Yeah, I kind of quit yapping. Whoa. Calm down. I'll play a song. Gee, whiz.
You tell this story because you know more about this guy than I do.
Uh Coyote Peterson. Coyote is his name. Peterson. Yeah, you just write names down, but Coyote Peterson is a madman. Uh he is a uh YouTube guy. I guess uh that's what I know him as. He's a wildlife educator, they say, and he has a uh series on Animal Planet called Coyote Peterson Brave the Wild uh on his YouTube channel, which I think uh started before the Animal Planet series.
It's called Brave Wilderness. He wanted to kind of talk about animals, and his whole thing was like let me get stung and bitten and and uh you know, all these things by these crazy animals, and uh tell you how bad it hurts. That's kind of his thing.
Coyote Peterson. That's crazy. Yeah, it's crazy.
Yeah, so he goes and finds animals and stuff out in the wild, and he's like, Go ahead and bite me. I don't know why.
To educate the community.
I guess I mean that's I understand like that part of it, but the rest of it, I'm like, why would you do that to yourself?
Our friend's 10-year-old son was watching Coyote Peterson.
Yes, and again, and another guy too, and they were getting stung by these crazy wasps, huge ones.
Well, Coyote Peterson has just said that the most painful sting that he's ever received is the executioner wasp. Yeah. Oh. And his most painful plant encounter was the Gimby Gimby plant. What's that? It's a plant. Where is it from?
Australia. Okay. Of course. He, if you touch that plant, you experience an intense sensation compared to fire and electrocution. Wow. And the pain from a plant. Yeah. The pain from the embedded microscopic needles lasted for hours and disrupted his sleep for days. That is this guy is intense.
Yeah, this guy is is something else. So I'm looking at the picture of the executioner wasp that he had sting him. It's crazy. Coyote Peterson. You're crazy. Yeah. This dude is nuts. Yeah. No way. And people watch it to
say, I'm gonna watch that guy get stung by a wasp. Nah. I kind of been interested in it. You were even interested in it too, because the episode that um our friend son was watching was there was like a beetle, and you were like, hey, hey, go back.
Because he's he's it wasn't a beetle, it was another wasp. It looked like a beetle, it was so big. I thought it was one of those like giant, like scarab looking beetles. It was not, it was another wasp. They were just huge.
What a brilliant that's actually really an idea. You just have to be brave enough to do it. Yeah, I'm not that guy. I'm not that guy either, but I kinda I kind of I kind of would follow him around. No way. I get stung by some other stuff. I wouldn't mind.
I I mind. I mind a lot. I mind a great deal. I don't uh it's not for me. I'm glad Coyote is doing it so that I don't have to. That's where I that's where I'm at on it.
They he does have a medical safety team on hand and epi pens during all of these stunts because
an anti-venom because he's had he's had snakes and stuff by him too. Yeah. Oh yeah.
He so he purposely does these, but he also has had some accidental bites, and he had a painful strike from a wild gila monster. Is it gila or gila? Gila. I think it's gila monster. Gila monster.
Yeah. No, I'm not doing any of that. No one's asking you to. You over there were like, we should do this. I felt like you really wanted to maybe just once. No, thanks. Just once. No. Once. Nope.
If you had to get stung by something, what would it be?
Um a mosquito. I can handle that. Oh. That's it. You're done. I don't need any more of that. And I don't like getting bit by mosquitoes. Because then I have to itch for days. I don't like it. Chicken.
No way. Chickens don't have the ability to sting. What are you talking about? Chicken.
Just be brave. Imagine that. If if chickens could sting. They had some sort of tail, like a scorpion. They'd have to catch me first.
They're pretty much. I think I'm faster than a chicken. Do you? I kind of want to watch you race a chicken.
I kind of want to see that. And maybe it's not even race a chicken. Maybe it's a large enough chicken area that you just have to catch one. Okay. I want to see you catch a chicken. Okay. Okay. And then tell me you're faster than a chicken.
That needs to happen. The internet will love you catching a chicken. I'll do it. You will? Mm-hmm. What are you going to do once you catch it? I don't know.
I guess let it go. I want like a big area. I want a big kind of I don't know, maybe half a rodeo area. So that you have to really work hard to catch that chicken. Why do you want me to work hard? Well, I don't want you to just walk in and like pick one up, is what I'm saying. I want you to actually have to try to catch the chicken that's running from you.
What's my award when I catch it? The chicken. I don't know. I need something better than that. A cookie.
A cookie. All right. You can have a cookie. Congratulations. You caught this chicken. Here's your cookie. How you feeling? I'm beat up. I'm tired. My body hurts. I've walked too many steps. So did you look at your step count for yesterday?
For yesterday? I think I ended at like 12,000. Is that right? Uh I don't remember.
I thought you had thrown a 14 out there. My am I wrong? I don't know. Could have been.
My feet sure felt like I had done thousands and thousands. Yeah. Yeah. 14,745.
How do I get to yesterday? 17,703.
How did you get more than me? Because I have smaller legs. I was double stepping to your steps.
I don't know how it works. I'm just telling you, I walked a lot. I walked a lot too. We both walked a lot. 17,703 steps. And a lot of that, like at 1 p.m., 2 p.m. and 7 p.m. That's when all the walking happened.
And also that is when I went to the car multiple times. So I think that's the big deal. Interesting.
Yeah. We spent the day uh well, I guess back in September, mid-September, our daughter turned 17 for her birthday. Uh we got her tickets to go to Lagoon. Yes. So this weekend we went to Lagoon.
She's been bugging us to go to Lagoon for years and years and years.
The majority of yesterday was spent at Lagoon. Yeah. From the time they opened to the time they closed.
Oh, we shut it down.
Oh, it's like that place down. They weren't like hurting people out. Like we left before things were even. They like rides were still running when we were in the parking lot. So we did not shut the place down.
We left at an appropriate time.
Yeah, we were done. It was time to be done.
I was glad that the kids got to ride as much as they wanted. Like it was uh, and it's fun because we have a 17 and an almost 22-year-old, and they kind of like do their thing, and it was cool. We had a good group of people uh that were with us. It was a lot of fun all day long. It was fun. And I am blown away at some of the improvements the park has made. Uh the ice cream shop, what is it called?
The peacock lounge or something like that. I didn't even catch the name. Beautiful. Yeah, it was great.
What a cool spot. They've uh they've done some amazing like upgrades that I was really blown away with. And they're bringing in uh new rides. Uh they've unveiled one of those, which is a hot racer that'll be coming in 2027. They're already putting the footings in for it. They've drained the pond, which was a weird thing to see. Yeah, it was. But that means they're probably building something over there too. Uh just don't know what yet.
Um, my favorite ride was the one of their newest rides called Primordial.
I really like that ride. That was super fun. It was a lot of fun. It's got a VR element, like you wear 3D glasses, and you've got like a blaster on the front of your uh roller coaster car, and you get to like interact and save the kingdom, and that ride was super. It was super fun.
And there's apparently three different endings that you can get.
That line was long. I wasn't getting back in it to see if I by chance got a different ending.
I would have liked to have ride that ridden that one again. That was one of my favorites. It was very fun.
The line for that one was very long.
Um we got to ride wicked, which is one of my favorite ones. And here's the thing about me that I realized. If I'm scared, I'll scream. Yeah. If I'm really scared, silence. Yeah. So there's a couple of rides where I just it said nothing. So if you're startled, ah,
but if you're scared, like surprised big time and in fear, just it's just a retreat, retreat.
There's a video of uh there's several videos of kids that like have bugs jump on them or whatever. Uh like there's one of a video where the kid has a frog on his arm and he's like screaming, crying, and then somebody pokes the frog to try to get it to jump off of his arm and it jumps on his face, it's crying, gets worse. And then right after that video is a video of a kid who's standing there with like a grasshopper on him and he's shaking and he's just silent, and his dad says, breathe, bud. And he goes, Ha! I think you just need somebody to tell you to breathe bud.
I did. I thought I was gonna die. The older I get, like the more scary those rides become for me.
Yeah, you've said that. I don't uh what's up with that? I don't know. I don't know.
We did see a grandmother. I mean, she was an older woman, and she had just gotten off of one of the roller coasters.
Yeah, the kids were like, She was in the car right in front of us. It was awesome. She was this little old thing. It was so awesome. It was awesome. Yeah.
Our daughter rode with my friend. They rode the sky coaster. Yeah, they did. She was she was a little terrified. That's the one where you I won't do that. Basically bungee jump.
Basically, I mean, you're in like a I don't know, like a hang glider sack, and they pull you backwards up to the top of that tower and then cut you loose. No, thank you. They're Like, and you pay extra for this. No.
It was fun. It was a good time. Yeah. My body feels a little bit disjointed though.
Yeah, I definitely feel like I've been shaken up a little bit.
And I we could have used some more sleep. We drove home. I know. Afterward. Yeah. Not a great idea. Should have taken today off, maybe.
That would have been probably helpful. Wise? Sure. But we didn't. No, drove home, got home late, and then went to bed late and then woke up early. That's a recipe for success.
You were driving. I said, I'm gonna keep I'm gonna keep you awake. You did not. You did not. I took a tiny little cat nap.
You took a 40-mile nap. It was not 40 mile. It was pretty decent.
No, because we were listening to a podcast, and when I woke up, that podcast was still on. I missed maybe 15 minutes. It was probably only 15 minutes. It was about a half hour. 15 minutes. No. Yes.
No, because you kept having to adjust because your phone kept sliding off your leg because your leg was was spasming, kicking. Yeah. And then your phone would start to fall off, and that's what would wake you up. And then you'd adjust it, and then you were back out. So it was a while.
Restful.
I didn't say it was. I said it was 30 to 40 minutes. That's it.
Well, you did great getting us home. Thanks for getting us home safely.
Ugh. I hate that. I hate doing that. I know. It's the worst.
It is. It's not a great idea. No. But we made it. And we're here. And we lagooned. We lagooned.
Check that off the list. We haven't been there in a lot of years. We haven't been there in six or seven years. It's been a minute. So it was good to go back.
Now I can wait another six or seven years. It'll be just fine. Tomorrow morning uh is uh kind of a fun morning. You and I uh get to bundle up and be out and about before sunrise. And we've been doing this for the past uh, you know, I've been doing this for a very long time. Um, but you have joined me for this for the past few years.
It is break for the cure. Yep. Tomorrow morning from 7 a.m. until 9 a.m. You and I and several others are gonna be set up at the Teton Cancer Institute on 17th Street Nine O'Falls. And this is uh October. October is breast cancer awareness month. Uh you talked about your mammogram before you got it in. I got mine in September. Early Septemberish. Uh-huh. Yeah. So you're good to go for the next year. Yep.
And I've got my next year scheduled because they say, Do you want to schedule next year's? And I go, Yeah, why not? Yeah. Because guess what, ladies? It's uncomfortable. It's no fun. But it only takes I was in and out in 10 minutes. Yeah. It's easy breezy.
And early detection is absolutely key in the fight against breast cancer. And so uh for uh you know, kind of the kickoff of breast cancer awareness month, uh Teton Cancer Institute, uh, and the subsidiaries that are focused around that uh put together break for the cure, where you can drive through and you can grab a little breakfast bag. So you're gonna get breakfast, you're gonna get some goodies in there, and you're going to get a discount mammogram coupon.
Yes. So that's gonna save you some money when you schedule in the month of October. You don't have to have it in October, but get it scheduled before the end of the month.
You can save some money, and then you can uh you know, get your mammogram and uh and you know, chances are good that everything's good, but you want to find out because if things aren't good, the sooner you find out, the more options you have in finding treatment and fighting that breast cancer. So it's a big deal. It is a big deal.
And uh it's happening tomorrow morning. It's free. You just drive through. You don't even have to get out of your car. You're gonna pull in between 7 and 9 a.m.
right off 17th Street at Teton Cancer Institute. You're gonna pull in, roll down your window, hand you the bag of goodies, and then you can be on your way. So then you can zip on out. It takes just a few minutes, and whatever you're doing, you know, running kids around, running to work on your commute.
It's a two hour window between seven and nine. You can swing by and you can grab that breakfast bag and uh and say hi to us. We'll be there. I'll be there. Yeah. In my pink. Dressed up, well, in a coat. Yeah. Yeah.
I don't have a pink coat, but I'll have my pink shoes.
That's right. Okay, good call. Good call. I'm trying to figure out what I have. I'll have some pink stuff on somehow, some way. I'll make it happen. Uh, but it's break for the cure and it's tomorrow, 7 a.m. to 9 a.m. So stop by and see us at Teton Cancer Institute.
Get yourself some free breakfast in a discounted mammogram coupon. Yeah. That's a big deal. It's important. Mm-hmm. Ladies, take care of yourselves.
That's right. And we will talk to you about all of that tomorrow morning. We'll have doctors and stuff we'll talk to, which is kind of fun. Get to do a little bit of interviewing and that kind of stuff. So that's coming up uh tomorrow morning.
Tomorrow. So stop by and see us. I'm very excited to hear what you have to say about dinner last night. I upon further review. I think I was just hungry. Oh, come on.
Give me a break upon further review.
It's long been known that I don't know what the hype about In N Out is. I actually still don't know what the big hype about it is. I think their food is just basic. Okay. But I think that's kind of the appeal of it, right? Correct. It's just you walk in, there's a select number of things on their menu. It's it is really what the name suggests. It's an in and out.
Yeah. You go in, you order your food, you get out.
You get a cheeseburger, you get a double cheeseburger, or you get a hamburger, fries, drinks, shake. Right. Done. Yep. In and out. Now you guys wanted it. Our son wanted that last night as we were traveling home.
Yeah, he goes, what are the chances we stop at In N Out? And I said, uh probably as good as seeing uh a peacock and a little baby chick peacocks wandering around lagoon. And wouldn't you know it? We did.
I said, uh I'll give I'll give it a try. I'll give it another try. And you said I've been looking at the internet, and the internet says you should order a toasty bun.
Yeah, get get your bun extra toasted.
You should get it animal style.
Which is always better. It's just good. Which is just basically their well, it's got the little grilled onions and the sauce. It's got the spread on it.
And then I've heard before from my nephew that you should get your fries animal style. So I said, okay.
Which has got the melty cheese plus the onions and the spread. Yeah.
So I got I got my fries animal style. I got my burger animal style with the toasted bun. Yes.
And I and you can also double fry your fries. So they are crispier. A little bit crispier. Which I wish I would have done. I've yeah, maybe.
Mine were okay. I will say that I really like the fries with the animal style on top. That was probably my favorite part of the whole meal. Right. That was really good. Yeah. And I said, I think I like in and out now.
But now you're saying having uh a little bit of clarity after the meal and a little bit of sleep time. Now you're like, maybe I was just hungry.
Well, I think that was true. I was just hungry because we had spent all day wandering around the goon. But I also it was good. I really like the fries. My animal style fries were pretty good. And I actually could go for another batch of those right now. Really? Yeah. I really liked those.
Well, I did get a couple of pouches of the spread so that I could make uh, you know, some like uh smash burgers and I could put the spread on there so I can make them at home. I can definitely grill up some onions and do the saute onion thing and some melty cheese. I can make fries. I have my own potatoes from the garden and I can chop those down and I could make fries and uh and see how it goes. Okay. I mean, I think I have what I need. You have what it takes animal style fries, yeah.
I also love the price. Isn't that nice? Their price is really good. The cost of their food is very, very low.
Yeah, I agree. I do like that a lot. I like that you can you can go in there with a family and you don't feel like uh you're breaking the bank to feed everybody a cheeseburger. It shouldn't cost a million dollars to eat cheeseburgers. Right. And they got that value locked down.
So I appreciate it for the cost. I appreciate it for the basic of their menu. Look at you. I know.
Pretty soon you're gonna get the socks that look like the little cup. I already have those. You can borrow them. What? You know, the cup with the palm trees on it.
Yeah. I have socks. You do have those. Yeah, I have in and out socks. You can borrow them when you're feeling like fancy and okay. That's all right. I'm okay.
Just don't go telling everybody that I won't tell a soul.
It's secret safe with me.
Our friend got pulled over. We had a friend that got pulled over. He exited the POV lane on the double line. Right. And he said to me that he talked to the police officer and he said, I'm so glad you pulled me over because I see people doing this all the time, and it drives me crazy that people exit the POV on a double line.
But he himself did it and got pulled over. And he's like, I'm I'm glad that you're out here catching people doing the thing that I did that drives me crazy when other people do it. He said that. Yes. I missed that conversation.
Oh, oh, I said Josh really hates when people exit and enter the POV on the double line too. Yeah. You're always complaining about that.
I also don't like when people get in to the uh express lane and then go slow. Like this is an express lane. You're supposed to be moving and you're going very slow, and no one can legally exit to pass you.
Like that makes me crazy. Don't get in the lane if you intend to go slow. Just stay out of it and get over to the right where slow cars go. Okay. Got it. This isn't your comfy cozy drive slow lane. Makes me just absolutely crazy.
He told the police officer, like, I'm bummed that you pulled me over, but I know what I did, and it was my mistake. He goes, but I also every time I see somebody entering and exiting the double lane in the POV. Yeah.
You're never around.
You're never around. And then he said, Well, the police officer said, Well, I'm just glad that you have a passenger because you wouldn't believe the people that get in the express lane without a passenger.
I would believe that is absolutely true.
We've seen videos. I've seen videos of people who put in a fake passenger.
Oh, yeah, like a mannequin. Yeah. Just so it looks like they have somebody in there. Yeah. I think that's been going on ever since they invented HOV lanes. Is it H-O-V? It is. I've been saying POV. I know. And you also called it double lane. What I think. You called it a double lane POV. It's a double line HOV because it stands for high occupancy vehicle.
So Why didn't why didn't you correct me from the beginning? Because I it's exhausting. I'm kidding.
I'm saying being right and correcting you all the time is exhausting. Yeah, that's what I was saying. That's why I that's why that was a funny joke. Uh no, it's a double line on an HOV lane. H-O-V for high occupancy vehicle. P O V. What's a P O V? It's a point of view. Point of view. So when I saw this say double lane POV, I'm like, what are you talking about? But you meant double line HOV. Got it.
That is 100% what I meant. Whoopsie. In the POV lane. Yeah, okay. I have no idea what I'm talking about. 98% of the time. Yeah. Disregard.
Well, I think we got it down now. It's a double line on an HOV lane. Yeah. The high occupancy vehicle lane where buses and motorcycles are allowed as well. Oh. Yeah. Because they're supposed to go quick.
You just gotta go fast. And don't enter an exit on the double line.
When the double line is there. That's right. It's legal. And I gotta tell you. Say so many left lane campers. Yeah. I am losing my mind with the people, especially in and from Utah that are camping in the left lane. I'm trying not to be on a on any lane. Get over. If you're going slow, don't stay in the left. Move over. We shouldn't have to pass you on the wrong side. It's dangerous. Move to the right. Thank you very much. It just makes me correct.
Thanks for correcting me on my mistake.
Oh, on your double lane uh POV. All right. I Now you know. You now you know, and you'll know forever. To the rest of the day. Yeah. You got it.
You know who's four and oh, baby.
Oh, you want to talk football. Oh, I meant to talk football. All right. Uh yeah, your Minnesota Vikings, the uh Kansas City Chiefs, and 49ers. The San Francisco 49ers. There are three teams that are three, or excuse me, four now. And your team is one of them.
Only one team deserves to be.
Okay. All right. That sounds uh fine. I'm nervous about your offense holding it together through the rest of the season.
I understand. I think everybody's a little surprised that we're in there, but I'm surprised to see the Chiefs in there, quite honestly. Okay. They don't perform well. Okay. Most especially their quarterback who only gets 50% of his passes received. Okay. We know that's true. Look at your stats. Look at your stats.
You can. I looked at stats. Yeah. Yesterday. I was listening to sports talk, and I know that guy agreed with me. Right. So it was a weird, weird day for football yesterday, as far as the refs are concerned.
Yeah, what's going on? Because an accidental bump into turned into a big kerfuffle with your Vikings. That was crazy.
Like that was a weird reaction. Accidentally knocked down a referee.
And tried to help him up. And then the guy jumped up as fast as he could and was like in his face. Mm-hmm. And and part of me says, why were you standing right there? Like it's your job to get out of the way. And it was an accidental thing.
And then he was like crazy. Then the one with the 49ers, right? That was the one where was it the 49ers? No. It was with Trey McBride. Yeah, isn't he Is he a 49ers? Isn't he in San Francisco? No, he's a Cardinal. Oh, he's from Arizona. Okay. Yeah, he's a cardinal.
Okay. But that ref was out of line. And if I'm not mistaken, there's been suspended.
He has been suspended.
That was crazy. Bad words on the sideline. And then in the end zone. He was not friendly.
Yeah, people were like, dude, we just caught that on camera. Yeah. What are you doing? You're not allowed to do that.
It was very strange.
Then there was a there was a coach that was flagged. Okay.
Because he was arguing a defensive holding call, and so he got flagged. Uh-huh. It was a weird day for the referees. Yeah. Yeah, I don't know what is going on. Something.
And then there was a there was somebody, there was a coach or somebody. I don't know, this guy, Liam Cohen. Okay. He was he started talking about the amount of penalties that were called in the Jaguars, a Bengals game. Yeah.
He was like, this is a lot. I don't know. We didn't watch any of the football. We just saw the saw the highlights, but I don't know what's going on with the referees, man.
I was trying to see how many penalties were called in that game. I don't know if it'll tell me. Hmm.
I don't know either. I know that there was a big face mask poll on Mar Chase.
There were 24 penalties in the Jags in that in that Bengals game. Mm-hmm. Twenty-four. There were 13 against Jacksonville and 11 against Cincinnati. That's a lot. What's going on, ref? That's over 230 yards of penalties. What's happening, Refs?
What's going on?
That's a lot. I don't know. Were they just on one? I don't know. I don't know. Full moon? What was happening?
The zebras are upset. That is really strange. Huh. Well. Okay. Another weird weekend of football. But you've got a four and I got a four-no, baby. And you could really use a better quarterback.
Hey, hey, hey, hey.
I'm just saying, Kyler Murray is not it. He's not it. And I understand you're 4-0, but it's because your defense is holding it down. And that's great. And if you had a strong quarterback leading your offense, you would be unstoppable.
Do you Do you think that my quarterback is better than the Chiefs quarterback?
I think a lot of people are better than Patrick Mahomes because I don't like Patrick Mahomes. But a lot of statistics would say otherwise. But I disagree with the statistics. And I'll tell you, I think they're made up. I don't think he's worth the stats.
Hot take hot take.
I don't like Patrick Mahomes. It's fine. I I like uh Jake in our office. He's a big Miami Dolphins fan, and he's also a Chiefs fan because he's like, I can't just be a fan of the Dolphins because losing hurts too much.
So I have to have some sort of win. And he and I got into it about Mahomes the other day. I don't care for the guy.
He's like, but you gotta admit he's great. And I went, don't have to admit anything. There have been better. There are better. I just don't like the guy. But that's my own uh that's my own opinion.
Yeah, it was pretty sad to see that they beat out the Raiders and the Raiders did hold their own, and Kirk old Kirky Cousins did a great job. Yeah. There's one who's better than Mahomes. All right. Take that.
I said it. I I'm just gonna I'm gonna point out that uh Kirk does not have a Super Bowl ring, and Mahomes has several. So I'm I'm gonna say statistically, probably no. As far as being a better person, absolutely 100%. He's got the ring on being the nicest boy in football. What's happened? We got a oh, we got an amber alert. Everyone check your phone really quick.
Sometimes it can be said that I am a little bit selfish.
Uh uh here's the deal. And uh and I I hack it up to this.
Okay, because I'm the baby. I'm just a baby. I'm just a baby. That's what I hack it up to. Okay.
You are the youngest of uh of several siblings in your family. And I think unconsciously. Yeah, it's not my fault. It is your fault. No, unconsciously, I think you have this built-in thing.
What is it? Where your immediate thought is your your own self-comfort. And and it's less about like always true. Listen, I'm not saying you're selfish. I'm not saying that you don't think about other people.
You're kind, you do, you're giving, you're nurturing. This is just in the moment when you're like, I'm cold. I think I'm gonna go grab a sweater, and you get the keys from me, and you go to the truck and you open the truck, and your sweaters in the front seat, and your brain went, I don't think I want my sweater.
I think I want that hoodie that I know he stores in the back seat. And so you got the hoodie instead, and then came back, and you're like, now I'm toasty. And not that I was cold, I was fine. I thought you said you were cold. I was a little chilly, would have liked to have had a hoodie, but I only had one, and I didn't bring another hoodie, so I just sat and dealt with it, and that was fine. You could have used my jacket, yeah. Cute. Your little your little sweater.
As we were walking out the door, I said, Oh, I'm gonna take a hoodie because I know I'm probably gonna get a little bit chilly later if we end up by a fire pit. So I did. But when I went to go get it, I went, I I don't want I don't want mine. Josh's is warmer. So I got yours. And I didn't even think I didn't even think about you. That's what I'm saying. I know, I know.
So I said, I'm not saying that you're selfish and that you don't think about me often. Because you take care of the kids and you take care of like people around you. You do, but me, you're like fend for yourself.
Not always. It's fine. I've adapted. I've known you a lot of years.
It is a baby. So yeah, you you borrowed my hoodie. But you put it back. So that's fine. It's put away. So next time when you need it, you know where it is.
I didn't know that you were cold. I'm sorry. And I didn't even think to ask. I'm also sorry about that. I'm sorry that I was selfish and didn't think about you. I'm sorry for all of those things. Okay.
I mean, we didn't need a public apology or anything. That's fine. I'm the one who brought it up. Yeah.
I knew what I did. I knew what I did wrong.
I mean, it was just like you looked warm. So that was good. And that helped me feel warm, knowing that you were warm.
So my happiness was you're warm.
That's it. I looked over and I went, she looks toasty, so I'm toasty. Because that's how it works. I'll pack two hoodies. I that's my fault. It's my fault for not packing two hoodies. You're right. It's on me. I didn't say that.
I didn't ever take a
look at it. But you didn't not say that. I'm sorry. Two hoodies. That's the solution. I got it. I'm gonna pack two hoodies. Because the jacket you brought won't be what you want.
No. So I need to be prepared with two hoodies and a blanket. Which I did have the blanket. And I honestly, I thought because I said, Oh, I have the blanket in the back seat too. But somewhere in there, that turned into, nah, just bring the one hoodie on my body.
Oh, the blanket. I forgot you had the blanket.
Yeah, I said that when you were leaving to go get your sweater. Oh, I didn't hear you say that. I said, Oh, yeah, there's that blanket.
Did you Did you want the blanket? I was cold. You could have said Oh, yeah, there's also that blanket. Please bring that one too.
It's fine. I was busy telling a story that was too long. So I needed to be quiet. If I would have been comfortable, the story would still be being told. Can't have that. And besides, you were warm, so I was warm.
So I heard.
I heard about it. That's all that matters. You were warm, so I was warm. And we're good. Sorry. Don't be sorry. Would you rather this or that?
Would you rather be known for being attractive or being funny? Oh, definitely funny. Funny, me too. Yeah.
I mean, I could be I am a weird looking dude. So I can handle that.
What are you saying? You are not a weird looking dude.
Hey, I'm just saying, as far as dudes go, I'm a weird one. You're not a weird one. That's fine. I've come to terms. You're not a weird one. Yeah. No. Stop being rude to yourself. I'm not being rude to myself. Just telling the truth. No. And then uh, yeah, I'd rather be like, I'd rather people be like, that guy was fun. Yeah, I was funny.
That's good. That's what I'd like to be known as. Yeah. Also, when you say you're weird looking, that insults me. Why? Because that means that I'm a bad judge of what's attractive.
No, you just like weird looking people. No. Wrong. You appreciate a wobbi sabi.
No, you are not a wobby sabby. You are. No, I the best sobby. What? What's that happening? I don't know. So best sobby. I don't know what the opposite of a wobby sabby is. I don't know. But you're no, you're not a wabi sabi. I'm the wobby sobby.
You're my wobbi sabby. You're not a wobbi sabby. Uh listen. Would you would you pick? Funny. Yeah. Always. Always. I want to be known as funny. Yeah.
I want people to be like, oh, that's how to tell so funny. Okay. That's always. I think we've talked about this before. I think we have too.
But we haven't put it into a would you rather this or that? So here it is.
Here it is. I'd rather be known as being funny than being over being attractive. That's checks out. I get it. Check it.
I'm already weird looking. So look at you. Stop it. You go. Oh, and your head about spun off. Be nice to yourself. Joshua. What's up?
Would you rather this or that?
I played a little game. I was hanging out with my friends over the weekend. We played a little game called Wigs at Walmart.
Right. So here's let's just for a moment. Uh I want to talk about this. Because we had you had kind of eluded that there was a wig thing. Yeah. And I said, Oh, I have a wig. Like I can bring a couple of wigs. We have some stuff. And I was really excited about that.
And then I forgot about the wigs. Uh huh. And then uh we get to Utah and I was like, oh, I've been gonna take the kids, wanted to go to IKEA.
Beck wanted to look at a few things. So I said, let's we'll run over there. And IKEA is not like a 15-minute in and out thing. I don't even know how long I was gone. Like you walk in, and then when you walk out, it's like uh another day. I don't know how long I was in the IKEA.
Which is when I said, I don't want to go to IKEA because it's gonna be hours long, and I I just mostly want to spend time with my friends. Right.
Which I mean, you could do in the IKEA, but none of them wanted to go. The next thing I knew, I was getting a message from you that that said, Hey, how are things? And I said, good. And I sent you a Marco Polo video, kind of showing you what the kids were looking at. And you replied, and all of you were wearing crazy wigs. And I was I I felt a little left out on the wig thing. I'm sorry. But I became but then I I was reminded in the moment that the wig thing was even a thing, and I went, Oh yeah, I forgot.
I forgot about that. There was a whole wig thing, and there was like this let's wear the wigs and go to the store thing. So while I was with the kids at IKEA, you all donned the wigs and went to the store. How'd it go? I don't even know.
Um, I forgot about the wig thing until my friend said, and here's the thing. Um both of my friends are in theater. My oh, yeah. My one friend is a professional actor. He's been in commercials and movies and this is
he's been in Hallmark Holiday movies and all kinds of stuff. Yeah, theatrics. Correct.
So he said, go downstairs. There's a surprise down there. And I went, Oh, is it a wig? Because he said, I have I have a plethora of wigs. Yeah. Turns out he only had three. He couldn't find any of the others.
Yeah, well, I saw all three of those wigs. They they were very um mulody.
They were very mulody, and we actually but like femme. They were femolit.
Complimented on our mullets at the Walmart. Someone said, I like your mullets. Nice. That was nice. We had characters because of course we did. Of course. We had names. Yeah. One uh my friend Christina's name was Lurlene. Lurlene. My name was Gwen. Gwen and Lurlene. My friend Tito's name was Zeke. Okay. Zeke Lurlene. Lurlene. They were co-workers. You got to do that.
All three of these were co-workers. Yeah. So what do you guys do? Oh, that part we didn't get to. I feel like it's some sort of manufacturing. I feel like you're in charge of some sort of product line. And you and you're really good at it because you it's what you've done for two decades or three. Yeah. And you've been doing it since that haircut was in style, but you haven't changed it.
Can't change the haircut. That's what I'm saying. But you're pretty efficient at what you do. But any anybody who's new, you're like, new guy. Yeah, right. We're not going to train the new guy because the new guy will never get it. We're too good, Lurlene.
We got uh a lot of funny looks. Uh-huh. We got a lot of people who kind of looked and then.
I mean, it's October. It's Halloween-ish. Right. That's what we were like. It's fine. Yeah, it's fine. It's fine. It's fine, Lurlene. Quit wearing it. Come on, Zeke. Keep up.
Yeah. It was ridiculous and silly and awesome. Yeah. And we are middle-aged, middle-aged friends still trying to get some fun out of life. Yeah. And succeeding. Look at you guys.
You're just out there doing your own thing, big piles of success, and a lot of hair. That's fun. I'm glad you did it. Because it was a thing that I know you guys were kind of teasing about. I'm glad it happened. Yeah, it was awesome. It was a goofy time. Nice.
Should we wrap up the show, Josh? Is it that time? Yeah, our boss said we talked too much.
So Okay, well, we've talked less today than we have most days. Really? So he'll be happy to know. Have a great rest of your Monday. We'll see you back here tomorrow.
Thanks for hanging out. Have a good one. See ya. Goodbye.
