[00:00:00] Yvonne Heimann: Hello and welcome back to yet another episode of Boss Your Business, where I interview my guests and tickle out of them how they build a business around the lifestyle and the freedom of your dreams and just living life, how they want to live. And today I get to hang out with my Facebook ads girl, Jaymie, who is actually living locally here with me too.

[00:00:25] Yvonne Heimann: So maybe we should have done this in person. I don't think, have we managed yet? We haven't managed yet to actually meet.

[00:00:31] Jaymie Tarshis: We have not met in person yet, but that would've been a really good idea. Maybe, maybe, I don't know if you do, like, uh, if you ever bring guests back for a second interview, but if that's ever a thing, let's, let's make it happen.

[00:00:44] Yvonne Heimann: Hmm. Yeah, because we were supposed to meet for coffee and I think I got sick or something happened there. Yeah. I just gotta take you out for lunch one day. Um, for everybody else that is wondering who Jaymie actually is because we drove right into it, [00:01:00] um, Jaymie is a highly sought after Facebook ad strategist and consultant.

[00:01:05] Yvonne Heimann: You've been featured in Yahoo News, Medium, Yahoo Finance, and you are one of the 10 ad experts to watch in 2021. Talk about badges there, girl. You work specifically with coaches, course creators, and service-based business owner to help them attract more lead and sales through the power of advertising.

[00:01:29] Yvonne Heimann: Guys, that means you do not have to daily create content just saying. Um, your passion is helping business owners automate their growth and sales so they don't have to constantly post on social media. Guys, I did not read the bio. I did not know that was coming. Good. Apparently you got your messaging right, um, so that we don't have to hustle 24/7 or rely solely on referrals.

[00:01:54] Yvonne Heimann: So since 2015, you have [00:02:00] profitably, somebody untwist my tongue, managed millions of dollars in Facebook ad spend, and your work has helped thousands of entrepreneurs to grow and scale their business. Hi, Jamie.

[00:02:14] Jaymie Tarshis: Hi. Yeah, that's me. It sounds very impressive when you like rate off my, you know, stats like that in a sense.

[00:02:23] Yvonne Heimann: And we have humble Jaymie here because yeah, you are, you are kicking ass. I'm like, when, I always find it interesting when we look at our own bios or somebody else reads our bios, it's like, oh yeah, I have done that, haven't I?

[00:02:40] Jaymie Tarshis: Definitely. Well, and especially cuz I feel like the last couple of years, I don't know, just everything seems to have kind of blurred together in the world.

[00:02:49] Jaymie Tarshis: Mm-hmm. Um, and so yeah, to kind of take a step back and be like, oh yeah, these things have been happening and yeah, like I've been moving forward and making progress and it's, it's just good to kind of step back and recognize that. So, [00:03:00] so thank you for that.

[00:03:01] Yvonne Heimann: Which is, which is a call out to the audience guys.

[00:03:04] Yvonne Heimann: When have you checked and celebrated the last time all the things you have accomplished? We are, we are. I think a lot of us don't do that, even half as often as we actually should be doing.

[00:03:17] Jaymie Tarshis: Oh, definitely. Because I know, I mean, I know for most of entrepreneurs we're, we're so focused on the next goal, the next thing.

[00:03:24] Jaymie Tarshis: Right? It's so easy to, to kind of forget some of that stuff and overlook it, but we do, we need to stop, we need to celebrate, we need to pause and, you know, enjoy like the journey and, and what we're building along the way, not just like that end goal too.

[00:03:38] Yvonne Heimann: Yeah. And the end goal always changes. So guys go enjoy the journey.

[00:03:43] Jaymie Tarshis: It's so true.

[00:03:44] Yvonne Heimann: Which, which, which is my trigger to you. What has your journey been? Yeah. How did you get here? How did, how did Jaymie become the ad expert to watch?

[00:03:57] Jaymie Tarshis: Yeah. Uh, that's a great question [00:04:00] cuz it has been quite a journey. I think that, You know, so we don't get to see a lot of that stuff online when we look at someone's like social media feed and we just see the highlight reels.

[00:04:10] Jaymie Tarshis: But, um, I've actually been in the, in the online business space for about eight years now. So I have been at this for a little while. Um, but I didn't get started in ads right away. Um, I've always been a marketing girl, so marketing has always been my thing, um, right outta college.

[00:04:31] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, my first job was working as a marketing director for a large mortgage and real estate firm, and that's when I really started to learn about all facets of digital marketing. I gotta do a little bit of advertising. At the time, it was more work in Google Ads because that was more the main platform when I was getting started.

[00:04:45] Jaymie Tarshis: Facebook ads like they weren't really around yet. They were there but people weren't utilizing them as much. Um, and then I gotta do, you know, I gotta work in social media marketing, I gotta do a lot of content creation and SEO and lead generation, and I gotta really just learn a [00:05:00] lot of different pieces of the digital marketing world and get a good understanding really for just how you grow a business online, how you acquire customers, and how you nurture those customers and get them to, you know, eventually want to buy from you. And, uh, I loved what I was doing so much in marketing that, um, you know, at that job I just tried to learn everything that I could, and I would, if they were, if they offered to send me to a conference or to a workshop or somewhere where I could go learn, I was all for it. I just wanted to learn as much as I could about this world so I could help the company as much as I could. Um, and in that process, I worked there for a couple years.

[00:05:37] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, I ended up joining at the time, um, I just was looking for like more people to talk to about marketing and whatnot, and I found a local community. I was still living in Salt Lake City, Utah at the time. I found a local community that. It was like the social media, like Club of Salt Lake City or something like that.

[00:05:53] Jaymie Tarshis: And it was just a organization, people who came together to talk about social media strategies. And it was mostly marketers, but business [00:06:00] owners would come too, to learn these strategies. And that was like, I just started going to those and eventually I think I like joined the board and um, just started sharing what I was learning with people and I was getting a lot of people ask me for advice and that was kind of what first sort of inspired the idea of like, how can I maybe help more people with this information that I'm learning?

[00:06:20] Jaymie Tarshis: You know what I mean? It really like kind of opened my mind up to the bigger picture. And I never really wanted or envisioned, I guess to be an entrepreneur. I always knew I wanted to be really successful in life and do really well, but I didn't know what that path looked like. And entrepreneurship was never really a thing, but um, the more that people started asking me questions, the more that I desired to kind of figure out how could I maybe make this a thing where I could get paid for it?

[00:06:45] Jaymie Tarshis: And I kind of started to explore that route. And I remember getting to a point where I, I was pretty, I felt pretty stuck in my job and I just kind of felt like I had maxed out my potential there. And I knew the next step for me was to be able to [00:07:00] potentially start a business helping more people doing this.

[00:07:02] Jaymie Tarshis: I just didn't know how to do that or what that looked like. And, and even back then, I feel like entrepreneurship was so, like, it wasn't as trendy as it is now. Yeah. So there just wasn't as many resources and things to help you get started, right? But fortunately I was, uh, sitting in my cubicle one day and just browsing on YouTube, feeling stuck looking for just like inspiration and I came across Marie Forleo's channel. Um, shout out to Marie Forleo. She's the OG, right? And I'm so grateful for her cause I saw her content and I just started binging it. And I was obsessed. I first off was like, who is this woman? How has she created a life doing this like type of a business, it looks like so much fun.

[00:07:42] Jaymie Tarshis: But then also she gave me so much hope because all of her content was talking about how, you know, anything is figure outable, right? And how if you really wanted to do something bad enough, you can figure it out. And um, needless to say, I think I watched enough of her videos and I sat in my cubicle for long enough until one day like that advice like.

[00:07:59] Jaymie Tarshis: I [00:08:00] took it to heart enough and I remember I went in and I was, and I was like, you know what? I'm gonna do whatever I can to find possibly one client that I can work with, and if I can find one client, that to me is like a sign that I can maybe do this right? I can maybe have a business, I can maybe make some money and, and quit my job and, and potentially, you know, go down this, this route.

[00:08:20] Jaymie Tarshis: And, um, so I went on to Craigslist at the time and I found a company that I was looking for help with marketing. And it was a remote position. And I reached out and I pitched my services and it worked out. And immediately at that point, I put in my two weeks' notice and I was like, bye, and I quit. And I started my business.

[00:08:39] Jaymie Tarshis: So, um, probably not the like, smartest way to go ahead and jump in.

[00:08:43] Yvonne Heimann: I'm like, damn, girl. You reply to one Craigslist post.

[00:08:48] Jaymie Tarshis: There was just like no other option. You know? You know what I mean? When you get to that point and you're just like, I just. I'm doing it like I, I didn't have any other choice and I'm also the type of person that like, I can't, I have to fully [00:09:00] commit to something or I can't at all, right?

[00:09:01] Jaymie Tarshis: Like I have to like burn the boats or an option to go back. Or if I give myself like an out, I'm gonna take it. So I just can't. Right. I just have.

[00:09:12] Yvonne Heimann: And I think there is, I, I have that conversation often where when the question comes up of how do I turn a side business into a full-time business, I'm like, you just got to jump because you always have an excuse.

[00:09:29] Yvonne Heimann: You still have a full-time income over here. It's as much as I would like to say a lot of us can motivate themself. I'm sorry. Pain is a really good motivator, and if you have to make something happen, you will make something happen.

[00:09:43] Jaymie Tarshis: The best. Yeah, I'm, I so agree with that. And, and I've learned that about myself too, that like, I actually need that, like I need the fire to fuel me, otherwise it's just not enough, you know?

[00:09:54] Jaymie Tarshis: So not saying that's the route for everyone, but yeah, I think if you're, if you're kind of [00:10:00] teetering with an idea, It, and you're sitting in the middle, you're gonna, that's what your results are gonna look like. It's gonna look like you're half in, half over here and half and over here. Mm-hmm. But if I, if you go all in, you're gonna be a lot more likely to get to that result.

[00:10:13] Jaymie Tarshis: And even if you don't, hopefully you learn something in that process that gets you closer to that result regardless. So that, yeah, that was kind of the mentality behind it. Um, So, yeah, and needless to say I, I quit my job. I started working with that client, um, and. I, it was actually with that first client that, um, they wanted to grow really fast and even through the marketing strategies that I was helping them with, they just weren't able to grow fast enough.

[00:10:45] Jaymie Tarshis: And, uh, they were, they reached a point where, you know, they were hiring on a sales team. They needed to have leads coming in for their company. And so they were just like, we have to go. We have to start spending money on marketing. Let's try running maybe some Facebook and Instagram ads and see what we can do.

[00:10:59] Jaymie Tarshis: [00:11:00] And uh, so they tasked me with running some ads for them. And, uh, I really didn't know too much about them at the time. But again, like I love a challenge. I love a good, a good mission. So I, I, I learned everything I could about ads, put together a campaign for them, launched it. Um, and from that campaign we spent about $500.

[00:11:18] Jaymie Tarshis: And then within a few weeks they were able to get a little over like 200 leads for their company. So like $2 plus a lead for their, their company. And then, they were able to forward those leads onto their sales team and after a few weeks of their sales team working these leads, they were able to close about $67,000 in new revenue from those ads.

[00:11:36] Jaymie Tarshis: And that was like my next light bulb moment of like, what, wait, hold on, $500 into ads, $67,000 in revenue, plus they have all these new leads for their company that like their sales reps can still work. And I was just, oh my gosh. Like, I wanna try to do this for everybody. And that kind of became my next thing.

[00:11:56] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, so that's kind of how I came across ads. [00:12:00] Um, I was working with a bunch of different businesses at first. Um, and to be honest, the first few years of my business, like it was a struggle because I think that when you're first getting started, and you don't really have a name for yourself. Um, you don't have referrals.

[00:12:13] Jaymie Tarshis: You don't have really like any brand credibility and you're trying to sort of offer, in a sense, I felt like I was offering everything to, to anyone. Like I was like, if you need help with marketing, whatever that is, and you are a business and you can pay money, I can help you. And that was like, that was obviously like a very naive approach of mine.

[00:12:30] Jaymie Tarshis: But that's kind of where I started and I obviously struggled with that. But the second that I discovered like how powerful ads could be. I, I thought to myself, what if I just did this? What if I just made it my mission to only help people get as much results as I can with this one platform? What would that do in my business?

[00:12:47] Jaymie Tarshis: And so that's when things sort of first pivoted from being sort of a freelance marketer, um, to being the ad girl, right, to being the ad expert. Um, that was like kind of where that mission started. [00:13:00]

[00:13:02] Yvonne Heimann: Damn. Did I? Did I, did I mention $500? And you can slow down on organic? Just saying, people. Just saying. It's called efficiency.

[00:13:13] Jaymie Tarshis: Well, because if we wanna compare that, yes. I was doing organic social media marketing for the company. I was creating content for them. I was writing blogs, I was doing all this stuff to generate leads. And over six months to a year, we hadn't even generated that amount of leads from the content we were doing.

[00:13:27] Jaymie Tarshis: Right. So it was like we were able to take the same results we had gotten over like a year. And to get them over a couple weeks with ads and I was like, why are we doing anything else, right? No hate on organic marketing, but it, it's just, if you're only relying on it, it's just such a slow path and I'm all about like, if there's a faster way, why wouldn't we utilize that in business, you know?

[00:13:51] Yvonne Heimann: And I think it's, it's the idea of diversity where organic marketing still has its place. [00:14:00] That's, that's what people know, like, and trust. That's where they get to meet you. That's where they go watch Instagram Stories, behind the scenes. Yes. You actually do, as you say. Um. Ads work, but ads also sometimes have this, oh my God, now you're gonna sell me something.

[00:14:17] Yvonne Heimann: So I think the, the diversity, and guys, this is my opinion right here because I love the double approach of organic with ads and we have people on the podcast that's where, by social media, we have people organic. We have people that, that focus and niche down on the ad side of things. I know you still do organic marketing, too, and I think it's, it comes down to, for us as the, as the customer, as the client of yours to, to also decide of, okay, what, what matches for us?

[00:14:53] Yvonne Heimann: I'm like, we were just talking behind the scenes. I have ads ready to go in my [00:15:00] Facebook right now that I actually build with Jaymie, and it just so happened that I had pulled the plug on doing all of this and it's all applicable and you guys will all see these in the future because they are still aligning with everything I'm doing.

[00:15:14] Yvonne Heimann: But there was something behind the scenes happening where, where I needed to figure myself out, where do I wanna take all of this? What exactly is the end goal on this? And I realized, I don't just wanna put the ad out there to, to get people on my email list. I wanna have the group coaching program ready, where again, it was, for me, it was a big spiral of, of understanding more of where I wanna take the business and what I wanna do, where there had to be some discovery.

[00:15:42] Yvonne Heimann: But the nice thing is, those ads are freaking amazing, which means they're ready to go the moment I figured out my shit and I literally can just push a button and turn them back on.

[00:15:55] Jaymie Tarshis: Yes. Which is so nice, right? Like they're ready to go whenever you're ready. And [00:16:00] that's what's convenient about them. And to your point, like I, yes, I also do organic marketing.

[00:16:05] Jaymie Tarshis: I am in no way knocking organic marketing cause I have the same belief as you where you wanna have both in your business, right? It was just that in my journey I had realized if there's one thing that I can provide the most value to someone in terms of how I can be as a service provider, I knew that I could provide so much more value on the paid side of things, than I could on the organic side of things.

[00:16:28] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, and so that's the only reason why an inch down to that. But yeah, I'm in no way saying you shouldn't do organic marketing, but I am also saying, again, you've only relied on that and you are looking for a little bit of a faster path, that is definitely where paid ads can be a good combination to add into your current strategy and what you're already doing.

[00:16:45] Jaymie Tarshis: And I always say if you have something that's working for you organically, it's already working well that is a great time to bring in ads because that's when you can help amplify that process, right? It's like if you already have a lot of people going and visiting your sales page and [00:17:00] buying something, well, why wouldn't we wanna get more people there?

[00:17:02] Jaymie Tarshis: Right? So it's definitely a great thing to have. Once you've mastered a lot of your processes and your marketing and your messaging and everything in your business, and you're ready to sort of just get it out there in front of more people, it's like, that's a great time to start thinking about it.

[00:17:16] Yvonne Heimann: The interesting thing is I always, um, use the analogy of dating with organic as well as paid social media.

[00:17:25] Yvonne Heimann: You can, you can go out there and you can have your friends hook you up and friends who know friends, right? You are in your circles and at some point you're gonna have used up whatever you can use up in the circles you were in. That's when you start doing ads where you have the possibility to get out of those circles you are in, to get out of that reach and be able to specifically target that hot deal that's in this age range and does these things and blah and whatever, and step out of the circles you are [00:18:00] already in and start building those new circles.

[00:18:03] Yvonne Heimann: Get into different target markets, gets in front of people that you simply can't do easily, organically, or it's just gonna take you forever. Yeah. With ads, we can just step out of our known reach, our known circles, and reach those people that might not be connected one-on-one to your account yet. And it's just like, hey, by the way, I do exist.

[00:18:28] Jaymie Tarshis: 100%. And that's such a great analogy. I'm totally gonna steal that cuz I actually use a different dating analogy when I talk about ads, specifically in just the process of how we use ads to convert customers. But um, I really like that analogy, right, because it's kind of like, the, I even would look at that as like, you know, we're building this business, so it's almost like we're doing this like, um, show or like this performance and there's this whole group of people that we know are the right fit for whatever it is we're selling, right? But it's almost like until you start running [00:19:00] ads, like you're stuck in that room with only your immediate like connections. When there's like a, on the other side of that wall, there's like a whole room of people and they're like literally sitting there waiting.

[00:19:09] Jaymie Tarshis: They just haven't seen that you're there yet. They just don't know you're on the other side yet. Right. And as there's just a way to kind of like shine the spotlight so the people on the other side of that wall are like, oh, I see you. Oh, you have what I'm looking for? Um, so yeah, so it's like if you feel like you've reached a point specifically where you, like, you've capped out like your current audience, right?

[00:19:28] Jaymie Tarshis: Like you've, like been promoting yourself and you know, every time you put something out, like people buy, but then it's slowing down because you can't grow the amount of people as fast as you wanna be able to make those sales. Then it's like, you know, let's definitely think about adding ads into that strategy so that you can continue to grow and scale.

[00:19:47] Yvonne Heimann: So, talk about growing and scaling. I know your Q1 has been quite interesting, quite busy. How, how are you running your business? How, how are you living life enjoying San Diego? [00:20:00] How have you structured your business to support you?

[00:20:02] Jaymie Tarshis: Yeah, I love this question because, um, my business model has actually changed quite a bit over the years.

[00:20:11] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, so, you know, I originally started out having more of like an agency type of model where I did a lot of done for you work, managing ads for clients. Um, I had people on my team assist me with that, and that was my main revenue stream. And then, um, through COVID, I really took a pivot. A pivot to wanting to be, you know, lean more into the consultant education side of things.

[00:20:33] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, and so that's actually when I launched my VIP day offer. So now I have a VIP day where I can essentially help you create your ad still, it's still done for your, this is what you and I did, right? Mm-hmm. Or, I'm helping you create your ads in one day. Um, however, I'm teaching you how to, I'm taking you through the process.

[00:20:50] Jaymie Tarshis: I'm teaching you how to do it, teaching you how to manage them from there so that you don't necessarily have to commit to, um, working with someone to manage them monthly. And, um, so that's sort, sort of [00:21:00] been my main revenue driver in my business for the last, I would say like year and a half.

[00:21:06] Jaymie Tarshis: So I do a few of those VIP days a month, um, and that way I get to really focus on serving those few clients that I work with really, really well. Um, and then, you know, in between that I also have some ongoing consulting clients that I serve. Um, I have, um, also courses that I, um, sell as well. And, um, so that's another revenue stream that I have, um, that, you know, it's kind of always working for me in autopilot.

[00:21:32] Yvonne Heimann: Do you wanna share the idea of what might be coming for the ad expert mid-end year?

[00:21:41] Jaymie Tarshis: Sure. Yeah, definitely.

[00:21:43] Yvonne Heimann: Do we, do we get to hinted to the audience? Yes. People, I always know what's happening behind the scenes and I completely didn't ask Jaymie if I get to share.

[00:21:51] Jaymie Tarshis: Well, I'm, I'm, like I said, I'm an open book.

[00:21:54] Jaymie Tarshis: If you're gonna ask, I'm gonna, I'm gonna tell. Um, but yeah, this actually is kind of the first time I'm talking about [00:22:00] this. I think more publicly at least. Um, but yeah, so this year, things are changing a little bit in my business where, um, I want to basically be able to open up my consulting and like ongoing support, which I believe is really the piece of what I do that helps my clients get such great results.

[00:22:19] Jaymie Tarshis: I think there's, you know, anyone can go out there and learn ads or watch a video or watch it, you know, like take a course. Anyone can do that. But it's when you go to actually run the ads and you actually go create them, like having that real time support and knowing mm-hmm. Like being able to ask somebody, you know, questions or have someone give you feedback on things.

[00:22:36] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, and just like knowing what to do when certain scenarios come up, I really believe is the piece that I think every course and program out there is missing, um, that I wanna be able to bring to more people. And I've been doing this on a smaller scale with all of my group program clients.

[00:22:53] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, they've been continuing with me into a sort of monthly membership where you can, you know, obviously access all of my [00:23:00] content around ads, but you get access to me as your ads coach, um, as well as my team, my copywriter, my funnel strategist. So you have people there actually to support you through all aspects of running ads, um, and the entire like funnel and customer journey.

[00:23:14] Jaymie Tarshis: So I'm gonna be opening that up to be a like, public membership now, not just for my group program clients, but um, for anyone who is looking for more ad support to enroll. So that will be coming soon. So, um, you know, definitely stay tuned for that if that's something that you're interested in.

[00:23:32] Yvonne Heimann: You guys heard it here first. So you know, as always, you're gonna be able to find her links to social media and everything in the description.

[00:23:39] Yvonne Heimann: You don't have to run off right now. We'll do the call to action again at the end of the episode. Guys, do not stop. Do not hit the pause button yet. You'll get all the input at the end. Um, but yeah, so make sure you follow Jaymie so you get notified when that all is going live. So we talked [00:24:00] about your journey, how you got here.

[00:24:01] Yvonne Heimann: We talked about what businesses looks like right now, what business will look like, what are some of the tools and processes that allow you to do all of these?

[00:24:12] Jaymie Tarshis: Yeah, definitely. I feel like I use so many different tools and processes in my business. Um, so I mean, on the client side of things, um, you know, I use a certain set of tools and then I would say on like for my own marketing, um, with my courses and the sales that I bring there and my funnels, I have my own set of tools, right.

[00:24:30] Jaymie Tarshis: But for my business, um, I try to keep things super simple. I use, um, you know, Asana for task management and to manage things with my team.

[00:24:39] Yvonne Heimann: Um, guys, you did not hear that. She did not use the Asana word.

[00:24:43] Jaymie Tarshis: I'm sorry, but I'm yet, I'm not on ClickUp yet.

[00:24:47] Yvonne Heimann: It's all good.

[00:24:49] Yvonne Heimann: You know me. I always like to make fun of that.

[00:24:51] Yvonne Heimann: It's okay, you know, you know me as much as I'm joking about this, guys, the best tool is the one you actually use. Will I make, [00:25:00] will I make fun of you a little bit? Yes. But all that matters is that you actually use the tool that's just like with everything else, this is why I have this podcast. This is why I ask everybody this question so you can hear how these tools work for other people.

[00:25:16] Yvonne Heimann: Um, Jaymie and I know each other. I know I can give her a hard time without her being mad at me. It comes down to you guys, to you hearing how other people use that tool so you can make a decision what the best tool is for you, because the right tool is the one you always use.

[00:25:34] Jaymie Tarshis: Well, yes, that's so true. And um, you know what?

[00:25:38] Jaymie Tarshis: You can't give me a hard time because that was, that was on me for bringing that up as one of my first tools.

[00:25:42] Yvonne Heimann: Oh girl. No. No. This is, this is not the ClickUp show. Everybody knows I love ClickUp. This is not the ClickUp show.

[00:25:50] Jaymie Tarshis: I could probably just started with a different one, but.

[00:25:56] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, but yeah, so moving on from [00:26:00] that, um, in terms of like my client management side, I, um, so I, I use Dubsado for, um, you know, my forms and invoicing and, and the whole client workflow process. Um, and then I use Google Drive for everything. I will just tell you that is my tool. Google Drive, I use, oh yes, I'm here.

[00:26:20] Jaymie Tarshis: For so many things. I have a drive folder with every client I work with. Um, I drive is, is, is my go-to. Um, and then, you know, you know, in terms of like funnels and and whatnot, obviously there's a whole bunch of tools that I use on like the marketing side of my business. So, um, I'm a huge fan of Lead Pages for building out landing pages and sales pages.

[00:26:41] Jaymie Tarshis: I've been with them for years and their templates and whatnot just convert so well. Um, my like opt-in pages are significantly higher in terms of their conversion rates than I would say majority of people. So I love using them for landing pages and sales pages. I use Active Campaign for my email, [00:27:00] um, which I feel like a lot of people are like, FloDesk is like the, is like the popular like email provider that everybody's loving these days, but I'm like, you know what? Active Campaign gets so overlooked. It has all the capabilities you could ever want in like an email provider. And now that I'm starting to look at the monthly pricing of other tools, I'm like, you know, Active Campaign actually is pretty affordable, so I love them.

[00:27:24] Yvonne Heimann: Um, Active Campaign here. The only reason why I'm not with them is because I use Encharge now, which has the same capabilities. Yes. And I was able to get it on a lifetime deal.

[00:27:36] Jaymie Tarshis: Oh yes, you told me that. Okay. Anytime you can get a lifetime deal on a tool, please do. Please go for that.

[00:27:41] Yvonne Heimann: And it's like, Active Campaign is my secondary choice.

[00:27:45] Yvonne Heimann: When you have to pay monthly, go Active Campaign. Active Campaign is a less, is a little bit less nerdy on the flow. Their flow builder is a little bit easier than the Encharge flow builder if you're not a nerd. Um, but Active Campaign also can [00:28:00] be used as, as a CRM. I love their CRM integration on the higher plan.

[00:28:07] Yvonne Heimann: Active Campaign is a no-brainer. And I think FloDesk got a lot of recognition because it's such a visual, it's such a newsletter for creatives. I don't know if they necessarily have the tech backend and automation capabilities yet to be on the same level when it comes to the stuff. I'm a nerd.

[00:28:32] Yvonne Heimann: I wanna automate my email flow. If it's just a regular newsletter, you're just sending out one newsletter, go FloDesk. They look cute. They have templates. But if you wanna grow and scale, I don't think FloDesk is there yet.

[00:28:45] Jaymie Tarshis: Yeah, I, I would completely agree with that. Like it's, it's definitely more for like the aesthetic that I feel like people love their platform, but yeah, in terms of like their functionalities, I don't think that they're anywhere near as close to like what Active Campaign is able to provide.

[00:28:58] Jaymie Tarshis: But, you know, it all [00:29:00] depends on like obviously what the main goals and priorities are for your business. If you're not doing a ton of email marketing, then FloDesk can work for you. Um, but yeah, I love, like I said, using Active Campaign. And then, um, I use ThriveCart to now host all of my courses and programs as well as do all of my checkouts.

[00:29:18] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, so ThriveCart's, another one of those tools, like you said, you don't pay for monthly.

[00:29:22] Yvonne Heimann: Welcome to the Club.

[00:29:23] Yvonne Heimann: Have you heard? Have you heard? Guys, if you were listening it, you might wanna jump on this right now. ThriveCart just got investors within the last month or two or something, so I expect them within a year to move into a subscription base.

[00:29:41] Jaymie Tarshis: Same. Yeah. I don't anticipate that lasting forever. So I 100% agree. It's like you're better off investing in it now even if you don't use it right away. Um, because I mean, just the price of like a normal course hosting slash checkout tool monthly, you, if you were to pay for that, you would've already paid for ThriveCart [00:30:00] in like five months.

[00:30:01] Yvonne Heimann: Um, I think what the ThriveCart with the Learn Plus add-on, so you get the regular Learn I wanted, I just wanted to have all the fanciness. I think you end up paying, 600 bucks?

[00:30:14] Jaymie Tarshis: I think so, yeah.

[00:30:16] Yvonne Heimann: With both of them? And I think the, yeah, I think just ThriveCart, so just the checkout piece is like 497 on a lifetime deal and you pay another 150 or something for the Learn Plus something like that.

[00:30:30] Jaymie Tarshis: But, but yeah, it's like you said that it's, it's a lifetime deal and even. So now you're, you're taking away the monthly of a, a checkout tool or some sort of place where you can take payments and you're also taking out the monthly of your, of your course hosting. And I have clients who, you know, are on certain, I, I won't even name all the other course hosting platforms.

[00:30:49] Jaymie Tarshis: But you know, they're paying $150 a month to host their courses on there. You think about that, you're gonna ho have your courses for the next five, 10 years of your business, that is a lot of money in monthly [00:31:00] subscriptions.

[00:31:00] Yvonne Heimann: And I have, I have to admit the, the reason why I switched with ThriveCart, first of all, lifetime deal, right?

[00:31:06] Yvonne Heimann: Second of all, was my goal for 2023 was simplicity. I, I still have the academy. We're still on the, on in the path of moving everything over. Mm-hmm. Um, but it's like, that was WordPress-based and I had issues with LearnDash. I had issues with, um, the other one I used, whatever, where I'm like, I just want simple.

[00:31:35] Yvonne Heimann: I want it to look nice, but it doesn't have to be super fancy. I, I am so done spending so much time on so many things where I'm like, you know what, ThriveCart, you have, you have the landing page, you have the checkout page, you have upsales, you have down sales, you have all of the course hosting. It's just simple.

[00:31:54] Jaymie Tarshis: Right. I love it. I love it so much.

[00:31:58] Yvonne Heimann: So yeah guys, you will be [00:32:00] finding all of those links in the comment section. Jamie, tell them. Where can they find you? Website. You got Facebook ads. Any lead magnets?

[00:32:16] Jaymie Tarshis: Uh, so right now I'm in the process of coming up with new lead magnets. Um, I have a lot of new stuff in the works right now, so I don't, I don't know if I necessarily wanna point anyone to any my existing resources.

[00:32:27] Jaymie Tarshis: You can find them. Go, go for now, in the meantime, what I would tell people to do is go find me on Instagram at the ad expert. Cause that's the easiest place to find me if I give you my website. You're gonna have to go to the show notes because it's just not easy to spell. So go find me on Instagram. Um, send me a DM and let me know that you heard me here on, on the show so that I know, like how we got connected.

[00:32:48] Jaymie Tarshis: Um, and then, you know, if you go to my link in bio, you can find that right now. I, I do have a freebie in there, which is my High Performing Ad Blueprint. Um, so if you wanna grab that, you can, but just know I'm gonna be having something new [00:33:00] drop in there I would say in the next month. So be on the lookout.

[00:33:04] Yvonne Heimann: So you guys better hit the follow button because I'm pretty sure Jaymie is gonna announce when that is coming out so that you don't miss the new freebie. And if you guys wanna dive deeper into organic social media marketing, go make sure you check out my episode with Brandon Fortino, where we are talking about short form content. And while you are on Instagram following, Jaymie, you better make sure you are following me too, because you're gonna be seeing some of that short form content starting here in April popping up. We, um, are working on creating a lot more content around the podcast, so you're gonna be seeing more of Jamie and little snip snippets of aha moments we had on this podcast.

[00:33:51] Yvonne Heimann: With that, I'll see you hopefully soon for coffee. I'll hear everybody in the audience in our next podcast. Make sure wherever you are [00:34:00] listening and watching, hit that Subscribe button. I wanna see you in the next episode. Bye everybody.

[00:34:05] Jaymie Tarshis: Bye. Thanks so much for having me. This was so fun.

[00:34:08] Yvonne Heimann: Thanks for coming on.
