Ladies and Gentlemen, welcome to Fennell's Fables! It's your boy, Trey Fennell, here to navigate you through this wild, wild world with a little bit of humor, a dash of satire, and a whole lot of reality checks.
Let's talk about the world today, shall we? -
I mean, we're living in a time where people are more concerned about their wi-fi speed than their life speed. - Remember when the biggest worry you had was whether your Tamagotchi was still alive? Now, it's all about how many likes your selfie is getting on Instagram. - "Oh no, Karen only got 15 likes in the first 10 minutes, initiate self-destruct sequence!" -
And don't get me started on politics. - Remember when politicians used to promise us things like jobs, healthcare, and a brighter future? Now, they promise us things like... well, they promise us they'll tweet less. - "Vote for me, I know how to use the 'Drafts' folder on Twitter!" -
It's a crazy world, folks. -
We've traded in our peace of mind for a piece of the digital pie. We're living in a time where FOMO is a legitimate anxiety disorder, and the word 'selfie' has been added to the Oxford English Dictionary. -
But hey, that's just the way the cookie crumbles in the 21st century, right? -
In the midst of all this, we've got folks who still believe the earth is flat. - I mean, sure, let's ignore centuries of scientific evidence because some guy on YouTube said so. -
And on the other side, we have people who are convinced we're being controlled by lizard people. - Now, I'm not saying it's impossible, but have you ever tried to get a lizard to do anything? -
But that's the beauty of living in this day and age. - We've got access to more information than ever before, and yet we seem to be getting dumber by the second. -
So, here's my advice to you, my dear listeners. - Take a step back, smell the roses, and for the love of god, remember that the earth is round. -
This is Trey Fennell, signing off from another episode of Fennell's Fables. Catch you next time, folks! Stay smart, stay sane, and remember - always question the status quo. Because as we all know, the status is not quo. -
Thanks for tuning in, and remember, life's a joke. You just gotta know how to laugh at it. -
