About Meg & The Daily Pep!
The Daily Pep! is the short, snappy and sassy podcast for creative + multi-passionate women, designed to start your day off with a compassionate bang!

I’m Meg and I’m the host of The Daily Pep! and The Couragemakers Podcast and founder of The Rebel Rousers. I’m a coach, writer and all-round rebel-rouser for creative and multi-passionate women to do the things only they can do and build a wholehearted life. When I'm not recording episodes, writing bullshit-free Sunday Pep Talks to my wonderful Couragemakers community or working 1:1 with coaching clients, I'm usually covered in paint or walking my wonderfully weird cockapoo Merlin.

Good morning, Daily Peppers, and a very happy Monday to you. So I thought I would start this week's Daily Pep with some hope. Because I don't know about you, but sometimes it feels like we're in very short supply of it. It can be really easy if you're very online like I am to fall in into thinking that absolutely everything is really and truly shitty. Now I'm not gonna lie. There are a lot of very truly shitty things happening in the world. That is a massive understatement. But one of the things I think that can get lost along the way is the inherent goodness in a lot of people.

This reminds me of that Mr Rogers quote. "When I was a boy and I would see scary things in the news, my mother would say to me, look for the helpers. You will always find people who are helping." Now I know around here, a lot of us are the helpers, and we don't need to be reminded to help other people. If anything, we need to be reminded that we matter too and to look after ourselves. But I wanted to share this with you today because it is all too easy to get sucked into the very real doom of the world. It is very easy to think that we are all going to hell in a hand basket and that goodness has left the world entirely. And if that's where you are right now, I really encourage you to intentionally go and seek out the good news, to intentionally look for signs of hope, and to really notice when people are being decent human beings.

Now don't get me wrong. Our bar does not have to be that low. But see if you can find some random acts of kindness and things that show you that there really are good eggs out there. When things feel this dark, we need lightness and hope more than ever. So I also wanted to remind you that it is okay to find joy in dark times. It does not make you selfish. You keeping your own light lit is really, really damn important and that you can only do your best. And your best will look different every day, and it might look a lot different right now, and that's okay.

So I am sending you so much love, so many signs of hope, and I hope you come across some good eggs this week that remind you that there is good in the world and start to counteract the darkness. Keep being you. Keep going. And know that you being exactly who you are right now makes the world a brighter place in and of itself whether you know it or not. See you tomorrow.
