Kat Lee:

Well, good morning. Hello, mornings. Welcome to April 23rd. This is Kath Lee. And this month, we're talking all about fuel.

Kat Lee:

How can I make healthy choices when it comes to my nutrition and hydration so that I have the energy to do the things that God has called me to do? Because, my friends, everything is easier when we are rested, hydrated, and fed. And everything is harder when we are exhausted, dehydrated, and not nourished properly. So these are just simple things that we can do that don't require suffering, that don't require difficulty, they may require some initial thought. But once you put the thought into it, then it can easily be something you incorporate into your daily routine.

Kat Lee:

So I'm trying to share just a really simple tip every day, and I hope it's helping you make some changes in your life. So my tip for you today is another super simple one, and it's to carry gum. Now, I'm not going to be shy about my favorite personal kind of gum. It's extra. I just like how long it lasts.

Kat Lee:

I like the flavor of it. I like this is gonna sound funny. I like the way it comes out of the package. There are other kinds of gum that you try to pull it out of the package and it, like, sticks. Okay.

Kat Lee:

That's a little that's that's a little bit that's a little bit particular about my idiosyncrasies about gum, but extra is my favorite. So why do we wanna carry around gum? Well, gum has tons of benefits. Now there are downsides, especially if you have jaw issues. So definitely keep that in mind.

Kat Lee:

However, when it comes to our nutrition and hydration, we will sometimes want to snack on something just because we're bored. And so the beauty of gum is that we can be chewing on something and it helps us to stay active. It gives our mind and our body something to do, and so we're less likely to snack. And because it increases our saliva production, it's gonna promote better digestion. It keeps our breath fresh.

Kat Lee:

It helps us stay focused and alert. I often have to chew gum if I'm on a long drive. And finally, it's gonna reduce our cravings for snacks that aren't good for us, because it's keeping us busy. Obviously, it also keeps your teeth nice and tidy, especially if you chew sugar free gum. So it's a simple tip, but carry some gum with you, and when you get snacky and you know that you don't need nutrition at that point in time, just pull out a piece of gum.

Kat Lee:

What's your favorite kind of gum? Share that in the community. I'm curious to know what other people's favorites are. Alright, friends. If you've not had your 3 minute morning, you are not too late.

Kat Lee:

You're right on time, and it is coming up next.
