The Harvester Podcast is brought to you by the Florida School of Preaching. Listen weekly to take a dive into biblical topics and thoughtful studies on things that matter to our eternal souls.
Welcome to the Harvester Podcast.
We are happy that you have joined us today.
I am the host, Brian Kenyon.
And my other hosts are not available right now.
But this is what we call a bumper-sowed.
We have just finished a great season number five, majoring in the minors, the minor
prophets that is, and shortly our season six will begin, which is minoring in the majors,
where we will take a look at some of the major lessons from the major prophets, not the
whole book, but just some major lessons in there, minoring in the majors.
But we are happy you've joined us.
And now this bumper-sowed we're going to take a look at some lessons in the book of Job.
Lessons in the book of Job will have about probably four or five or six lessons in this
series.
The name bumper-sowed comes from, you know, radio programs have their bumper music between
segments.
And so we have some episodes on some topics of interest.
Not a whole season on, but just a few lessons in between to help us to get calibrated.
Forest.
And Stephen Ford, my co-host, we all three host this, you know, during during this time of
year, whoo, it's hard to get us all three together at the same time in the same place.
But we will be able to do that soon when things start settling down.
But we're gonna take a look at some things in the book of Job, as I mentioned, and right
off the bat, the book of Job talks about Satan.
For example, in Job chapter one, verse six, now there was a day when the sons of God came
to present themselves before the Lord, and Satan also came in among them.
Then also in chapter two and verse three, then the Lord said to Satan, Have you considered
my servant Job, that there is none like him?
And so we have verse two, chapter two, two, the Lord said to Satan, chapter two, verse
one, again there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the
Lord, and
And Satan also came among them in the to present himself before the Lord.
And so this talk about Satan in the book of Job, of course, there's a lot of things about
that we won't be able to get into today.
In fact, a lot of that, Deuteronomy 29, 29, applies to that.
You know, the secret things belong to the Lord our God.
But the origin of Satan and of demons is not as detailed in the Bible as we would like it
to be, at least as I would like it to be.
But obviously.
We have been given enough to know what we need to know, at least in God's estimation of
the situation.
Now, when we think about the devil, one of the most common, common errors I hear about the
devil, is they try to call him Lucifer.
People call him Lucifer all over the place.
Even members of the church call him Lucifer.
But Lucifer, of course, is a misnomer.
The only passage that mentions Lucifer.
is in Isaiah chapter 14 and verse 12.
Isaiah 14 and verse 12.
But when you look at the context of Isaiah 14, he is talking about the king of Babylon.
For example, in Isaiah chapter 14, verse 1, for the word or for the Lord will have mercy
on Jacob and will still choose Israel, etc.
And then he says in verse 3, it shall come to pass in that day
He talks about that.
And but anyway, he takes up a lament in the king about Babylon here.
In Isaiah fourteen four, fourteen four, says, You will take up this proverb against the
king of Babylon, and say, So he's talking about the king of Babylon in this section.
And if you follow the pronouns out, you will see that.
How the oppressor has ceased, the golden city ceased.
Verse 5 The Lord has broken the staff of the wicked, the scepter of the rulers.
He who struck the people in wrath, who's the he who struck the people?
It goes back to the King of Babylon.
He who struck the people in wrath with a continual stroke, he, King of Babylon, who ruled
the nations in anger, is persecuted, and no one hinders.
The whole earth is at rest and quiet, they break forth into singing.
Indeed the cypress trees rejoice over you, and who's the you, King of Babylon, and the
cedars of Lebanon, saying, Since you were cut down, no woodsman, who's you?
The King of Babylon, since you were cut down, no woodsman has come up against us.
Hell from beneath is excited about you to meet you at your coming, to meet you, King of
Babylon, at your coming, because you're going to go down to the Hadean world.
It stirs up the dead for you, all the chief ones of the earth.
It has raised up from their thrones all the kings of the nations.
They shall speak and say to you, Who's the you, King of Babylon?
Have you, King of Babylon, also become as weak as we?
You see, death is the equalizer.
Have you, King of Babylon, become like us?
And these are the departed souls speaking to him as it were.
Your King of Babylon, your pomp is brought down to Sheol, and the sound of your stringed
instruments, your King of Babylon, the maggot is spread under you, King of Babylon, the
worms cover you, King of Babylon.
How you, King of Babylon, are fallen from heaven, O Lucifer, son of the morning,
How you, King of Babylon, are cut down to the ground, you who weakened the nations.
And so this whole deal about Lucifer is talking about the King of Babylon, and that word
Lucifer means morning star.
And some of the newer translations.
I think there's only two translations, King James, New King James, maybe ASV 1901.
I don't know.
I don't think so.
But anyway, it's not the other translations have it um morning star or something to that
effect.
All right, so the devil, now what we do know about the devil, from the passage given, some
of the things, the devil seems to be the chief fallen angel, and I say fallen for lack of
better term, whose time of sin is not recorded, but seems to have been between Genesis two
twenty five and Genesis three twenty-one.
Cause you remember when God created the heavens and the earth and the seas and all that in
them is, he concluded that by saying it is very good.
And so God does not create evil, and nothing God created was evil.
And then we already see the serpent you or the the devil using the serpent to tempt Eve.
And of course, chapter two twenty-five of Genesis ends.
The man and the woman both were naked and were not ashamed because sin had not entered in.
And so after that sin did enter in, of course, obviously through Genesis three.
Chapter 1 through 6.
All right, but the devil seems to be the chief there.
In Ephesians 2, 2, Paul says of them, in which you once walked according to the course of
this world, according to the prince of the power of the air, the Spirit who now works in
the sons of disobedience.
And so that's referring to Satan or the devil in John 12, 31.
Now the Gospel of John mentions this three times.
In twelve thirty one, now is the judgment of this world, now the ruler of this world will
be cast out.
And so he refers to the devil as the ruler of this world.
John fourteen thirty, I will no longer talk with you or much with you, for the ruler of
this world is coming, he has nothing in me.
And then John sixteen eleven of judgment, because the ruler of this world is judged.
And so he is the ruler of this world, as he's referred to here.
Now exactly what the sin was that separated him from God, we can only speculate.
We do know that arrogant pride was involved for sure.
First Timothy three six, as Paul is giving the qualifications for elders, he says not a
novice, lest being puffed up with pride, he fall into the same condemnation of as the
devil.
And so pride was involved in the devil's condemnation.
We do know that there is no plan of salvation uh for the angels.
There is no plan of salvation for the angels.
So it seems they had a a one chance, a one-shot deal to obey God or disobey God.
And the ones who chose to obey God are his servants, and the ones who chose not to obey
God are the devil and his angels.
Now we do read in Hebrews, uh Hebrews chapter two, as I mentioned earlier, there is no
plan of salvation uh for the devil and his angels, or for that matter, angels in that.
But in ch Hebrews two, verse fourteen, insomuch then as the children have partaken of
flesh and blood, he himself likewise shared in the same, that through death he might
destroy him who had the power of death, that is the devil, that is Christ,
did that, and released those who through fear of death were all their lifetime subject to
bondage.
And so because Jesus became flesh and blood, he did away with that fear of death and what
he did on the cross, verse sixteen, for indeed he does not give aid to angels, but he does
give aid to the seed of Abraham.
And then he goes on to talk about, therefore in all these things he had to be made like
his brethren, that he might be a merciful and faithful high priest in things pertaining to
God.
To make propitiation for the sins of the people.
For that he himself has suffered being tempted, he is able to aid those who are tempted.
But there is no plan of salvation for the angels.
There is no scheme of redemption for them.
They are in that state forever.
But again, it appears there was a time.
Now I know people say, well, that goes back to Milton's Paradise Lost.
And maybe it does.
I don't know.
I'll tell you this.
my wife turned me on to checking out ebooks, or no, what do they call it?
Ebook, not ebooks, but audiobooks.
Audiobooks from the library on this long trip we took from Lakeland, Florida to San Diego,
California, one Thanksgiving in 2016, I believe it was.
But anyway, so I got hooked on that.
If I go on a long trip, especially by myself, I'll check out an audio book and listen to
it.
And so I tried to listen to Milton Par Milton's Paradise Lost not too long ago.
And buddy, that thing was so boring.
Uh it
It did not keep me awake at all.
The guy read it, which I guess is in King James English anyway, old English, but he was
just so monotone, so just so boring.
But anyway, but I didn't hear well, I kinda something like that, someone may say that, but
you know, with the Bible references that we have, uh we don't know the exact way, but it
seems like all the angels were good at the end of creation, on the sixth day of creation,
and then between that
In Genesis 3 1, a bunch of them went bad, a bunch of them stayed good.
That's about all I can tell you about that right now.
All right, but anyway, in and uh from this point on, of course, from the point on, from
the devil his angels, Satan has been against God and his people.
Now the word Satan uh simply means adversary or opponent, like in a court of law, someone
who's trying to accuse uh an adversary.
In first Chronicles twenty-one one, the Bible says, now Satan, or reads, now Satan stood
up against Israel and moved David to number Israel.
In first Peter five, eight, be sober, be vigilant, because your adversary, and there's the
word adversary, the devil, walks about like a roaring lion, seeking whom he may devour.
That's pretty pretty interesting because devil means slanderer.
And Satan means adversary or opponent.
But many times we see Satan slandering and we see the devil opposing.
But that's just overlapping of the word, I guess, all right?
But anyway, so the devil, as I said, Satan is adversary or opponent, and then the devil
means slanderer.
Now we do see the devil at work in Job one, nine and ten.
Says, so Satan, and so he calls him Satan here, answered the Lord and said, Does Job fear
God for nothing?
Have you not made a hedge around him, around his household, and around all that he has on
every side?
You have blessed the work of his hands, and his possessions have increased in the land.
Then he goes on to say, if you will take all that away, Job will curse you to your face.
So he is accusing he is accusing Job, slandering Job, accusing him of only serving God for
what's in it for me.
That he doesn't serve him because he loves him, but he serves him because God has blessed
him.
And so, but anyway, the devil and Satan are two of the major words that are used for uh
our adversary, the devil.
Now, Revelation 12, nine, uh, that has the most descriptive names uh of the devil in one
verse, or Revelation twelve and verse nine.
Which says, So the great dragon, there's one, the great dragon was cast out, that serpent
of old, number two, called the devil, number three, and Satan, number four, who deceives
the whole world, number five, was cast down to the earth, and his angels were cast down
with him.
So we have five terms that refer to Satan in that one verse, Revelation twelve and verse
nine.
And then in verse ten, uh, then I heard a voice in heaven.
Now salvation and strength and the kingdom of our God and the power of his Christ have
come for the accuser of our brethren who cursed them before our God day and night has been
cast down.
And so there that person or that that being in verse nine that's mentioned in five
different names, he is called down here the accuser of our brethren, the accuser of our
brethren.
And that's what the devil is, and that's what the devil does.
All right, now the devil has demons.
Demons.
Now the King James Version will have devils, and devils is incorrect.
It's a whole different word.
Daimonion is the is the word for demon.
Uh Diabolos is the word for devil.
There's only one devil, but there's plural demons.
One devil, but plural demons.
And so demons is more accurate here as the New King James and other translations.
But demons are the angels or the messengers, if you will, of Satan who also sent.
Now, of course, we have to, you know, may most of the time maybe angels, spirits, these
kind of things probably mean the same thing in in most contexts contexts, just talking
about spiritual beings.
Good spiritual beings will call angels or good spirits, bad spiritual beings, uh, you
know, demons, uh
Whatever, and there's some try to make a big distinction between the names, and there
might be some different nuances of them, but generally speaking, they're all referring to
the same spiritual beings, either on God's side or on the devil's side.
Again, even in the angelic world, no man, no angel can serve two masters, okay?
But anyway, demons are there, and God spared not the angels that sin.
And Second Peter two and verse four.
Second Peter two, verse four, for if God did not spare the angels who sinned.
but cast them down to hell and deliver them into chains of darkness to be reserved for
judgment.
Now sin implies free will, at least a limited free will.
Sin is a choice.
Sin is a, you know, sin is transgression of the law.
Sin is unrighteousness.
First John three four, first John five seventeen.
Sin is knowing to do good but not doing it, James four seventeen.
And sin is whatsoever is not a faith of sin, Romans fourteen twenty three,
Which in that context is talking about our conscience in there.
But, you know, angels sinned, and so they at least had to had one shot to choose good or
evil, and they chose evil.
Uh they sinned.
And so there had to be some kind of at least limited, I would argue, limited, and I would
argue just a one time shot at it of free will, because anyway they sinned.
And so there's, you know, that's that's there.
All right.
sin d you know, robots cannot sin, rocks cannot sin, ladybugs can't sin, canines can't
sin, etc.
Uh only those with free will, or at least limited free will, and I would argue that for
the angels.
All right, in Jude w Jude six, of course, Jude has only one chapter, but in verse six, the
angels who did not keep their proper domain, but left their own abode.
He has reserved an everlasting chains under darkness for the judgment of the great day.
So the angels did not keep their proper domain.
So they had it, but they did not keep it.
They left their abode.
And so again, that implies a free will, at least in a limited sense.
They were set, but they left.
And so again, that implies that there was some kind of some kind of sin, if you will.
Um
And so God did not spare the angels that sinned.
They are reserved for everlasting fire.
Now, everlasting fire is a reference to hell.
And hell, of course, was originally, according to Matthew 25, 41, was originally prepared
for the devil and his angels.
And so that's what it was for.
Demons are also called unclean spirits.
In Matthew 10, 1, when he had called his twelve disciples to him, he gave them power.
over unclean spirits to cast them out and to heal all kinds of sickness and all kinds of
disease.
And we do see a connection between some demon possession and disease.
Sometimes demon possession was the direct cause of a disease, sometimes it wasn't,
sometimes it was, though, and you can see that in the various contexts.
Acts 8-7, for unclean spirits crying with a loud voice, came out of many who were
possessed, and many who were paralyzed
And lame were healed.
And so these demons are sometimes called unclean spirits.
Now, again, there may be a different nuance to that, but it seems to me that they're
generally speaking referring to the same group or category of spiritual beings.
All right, now in the context of Job, we have you know the devil coming up among you know
the the the meeting of the sons of men.
Again in Job 1.6, there was the day when the sons of God came to present themselves before
the Lord, and Satan also came among them.
And then chapter 2, verse 1, again there was the day when the sons of God came to present
themselves before the Lord, and Satan came also among them to present himself.
And so in the Old Testament, God is always spoken of as the creator and ruler of the
universe, which is inhabited by a numerous community of beings.
Called the host or the host of heaven, if you will.
And so that term host of heaven occurs a number of times in the uh Old Testament, and
maybe a few times in the New Testament.
But anyway, in sec first Kings but the host of heaven includes all spiritual beings.
Uh first Kings twenty two, nineteen, then Micaiah said, Therefore hear the word of the
Lord.
I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the host of heaven standing by.
on his right hand and on his left.
And so you have the host of heaven.
Sometimes the hosts of heaven will involve the stars.
For example, in Job 38 verse 7, when the morning stars sang together and all the sons of
God shouted for joy.
And so you seem to have the parallelism there.
The morning stars and sons of God sang together, shouted for joy together.
And so you have that.
also this host is called by different names as God's attendants.
They are called messengers or angels in Joe Genesis 32, 1 and 2.
So Jacob went on his way, and the angels of God met him.
When Jacob saw them, he said, This is God's camp.
And he called the name of the place Mahanaim.
All right, and so there you have uh Satan uh referring uh Jacob.
Referring to the angels of God who met him, or messengers of God who met him, and you
compare that with Psalm one hundred three twenty, Psalm one hundred three twenty, bless
the Lord, you his angels, who excel in strength, who do his word, heeding the voice of his
word.
And then sometimes slaves would be involved in this, Job four eighteen, if he puts no
trust in his servants, if he charges his angels with error.
and there you have different translations there.
Charges his slaves with air, charges his angels, the New King James and the King James
have there.
All right, as associates of God, they are called holy ones.
Job 5 1, call out now, is there anyone who will answer you?
And to which of the holy ones will you turn?
Now in the New Testament, holy ones is a reference to saints, but in the context here.
Uh holy ones seem to be referring to the host of heaven that do God's will.
As supervisors of God's realm, such agents were later called watchers.
For example, in Daniel chapter four, thirteen, I saw in the visions of my head while on my
bed, and there was a watcher, a holy one coming down from heaven.
Then if you go down to verse seventeen, this decision is by the decree of the watchers.
And the sentence by the word of the holy ones, in order that the living may know that the
most high rules in the kingdom of men, gives it to whomever he will, and sets over it the
lowest of men.
And then in Daniel four twenty three, and inasmuch as the king saw a watcher, a holy one
coming down from heaven and saying, Chop down the tree and destroy it, but leave its stump
and roots in the earth, bound with a band of iron.
And bronze in the tender grass of the field.
Let it be wet with the dew of heaven, and let him graze with the beasts of the field till
seven times pass over him.
But in the beginning of that, notice a watcher, a holy one, came down from heaven and gave
a message.
And so they are active in human affairs in the Old Testament anyway, patrolling the earth
to observe and to protect.
And we have some passages from Zechariah that talk about this, and these are very similar,
really, to kind of kind of like in Job, but also in the book of Revelation.
But Zechariah one verse seven, on the twenty fourth day of the eleventh month, which is
the month Shebot, in the second year of Darius, the word of the Lord came to Zechariah,
the son of Barekiah, the son of Ido the prophet.
I saw by night and behold a man riding on a red horse, and it stood among the myrtle trees
in the hollow, and behind him were horses red, sword, and white.
Then I said, My Lord, what are these?
So the angel, the angel who talked with me, said to me, I will show you what they are.
And the man who stood among the myrtle trees answered and said, These are the ones whom
the Lord has sent to walk to and fro throughout the earth.
So they answered the angel of the Lord who stood among the myrtle trees and said,
We have walked to and fro throughout the earth, and behold, all the earth is resting
quietly.
And so these riders, if you will, these writers, these messengers, they are, as it were,
in in this picture, they are they are the messengers that are riding out through all the
four corners of the world to come back and report to God, and it's kind of you know, it's
a it's a it's an illustration of God's omniscience.
He knows what's going on in every corner because he has these messengers out everywhere.
Now, of course, God is
omniscient without the messengers, but for the picture of Zechariah, it's used in the
sense of messengers.
And then if you go down to Zechariah 6, verse 1, then I turned and raised my eyes and
looked, and behold, four chariots were coming from between two mountains.
And the mountains were mountains of bronze.
With the first chariot were red horses, with the second chariot black horses, with the
third chariot white horses, and with the fourth chariot dappled horses horses, strong
steeds.
And of course that's reminiscent of Revelation chapter six, when the first four seals are
opened by the lamb slain before the foundation of the world.
But Zechariah continues, Zechariah six four, then I answered and said to the angel who
talked with me, What are these, my Lord?
And the angel answered and said to me, These are the four spirits of heaven who go out
from their station before the Lord of all the earth.
Now the one with the black horse is going to the north country, the white are going after
them, and the dappled are going toward the south country.
Then the strong steeds went out eager to go, that they might walk to and fro throughout
the earth, and he said, Go walk to and fro throughout the earth, so they walked to and fro
throughout the earth.
And he called to me and spake to me, saying, See, those who go toward the north country
have given rest to my spirit in the north country.
And so we have those watchers, those
Horsemen, those riders going out patrolling the earth to observe and to protect it, and of
course it's connected back to God, God is in control of all of that.
Alright, and so in addition to host, another name for these beings uh is the sons of God,
or sometimes gods with a little G.
For example, in Psalm ninety seven seven, let all be put to shame who serve carved images.
Who boast of idols, worship him all you gods.
And so God's there, lower G, uh, worship him, all you gods, and that would be those spirit
beings, if you will.
Uh, and then of course, Zecharias 6 5, as we read earlier, these are the four spirits of
heaven who go out from their station before the Lord of all the earth.
And so the angel answered, These are the four spirits.
So you have the
The messenger is riding out on the horses, you have an angel, then you have four spirits,
and so uh different names for these spiritual beings.
All right, when gathered in an assembly, they are a divine council.
Psalm eighty-two one, God stands in the congregation of the mighty, he judges among the
gods with the little G, plural.
And again, that's talking about these sons of gods, if you will.
All right, and then also uh could be referred to the assembly of the holy ones.
Psalm eighty nine verse five and the heavens will praise your wonders, O Lord, your
faithfulness also in the assembly of the saints.
And there you have the heavens praising the assembly of the saints, he calls them.
Or then it could be down at verse seven, the council of the holy ones.
God is greatly to be feared, Psalm eighty nine, seven, and the assembly of the saints to
and to be held in reverence by all those around him.
So he's not talking about an assembly of earthly saints, but he's talking about that
spirit spirit world, uh, if you will.
When humans are granted a glimpse of God, he is often pictured as being surrounded by his
angelic court.
In Genesis twenty eight, twelve, then he dreamed, and behold a ladder was set up on the
earth, and its top reached to heaven, and there the angels of God were ascending and
descending on it.
And then first Kings twenty two nineteen, then Mekah said, and we read this earlier,
therefore hear the word of the Lord, I saw the Lord sitting on his throne, and all the
host of heaven standing by in his right hand and on his left.
And so this here's an assembly as he's surrounded by these angelic court.
Isaiah six, we're familiar with that, and the year King Uziah died, verse one, I saw the
Lord sitting on a throne high and lifted up, and the train of his robe filled the temple.
Above it stood Seraphim, each one had six wings, with two he covered his face, with two he
covered his feet, and with two he flew.
And one cried to another and said, Holy, holy, holy is the Lord Lord of hosts.
The whole earth is full of his glory.
And so these Seraphim, these spirit, angelic type beings, surround him when we get a
glimpse of God on his throne.
And so in Job 1, verse 6, among
You know, we have the word among there in chapter one, verse six, as well as two, verse
one.
But there was a day when the sons of God came to present themselves before the Lord, and
Satan also came among them.
So among them can refer to be used to an intruder.
You know, it's because the Satan has no right to be there that he alone is is asked about
his business.
But whatever the case, this must be always kept in mind.
God is always in control.
You know, the devil has to ask God for permission to affect Job's possessions.
Then God Jo the devil has to ask permission to inflict Job's health, and and God puts a
limit on it.
When he allowed Job to inflict his possessions, he said, but don't touch his person.
When he allowed God to afflict his health, he said, But don't take his life.
And so God is in complete control of this, and Satan uh is a servant.
I mean he's got to do what God says.
He has no power to do anything on his own without God allowing it.
And so that's the thing that must be kept in mind here.
All right.
But Satan, we must realize, and this kind of rhyme so it's easy to remember, but Satan's
number one weapon is deception.
Satan's number one weapon is deception.
In 2 Corinthians eleven two, Paul writes, For I am jealous for you with godly jealousy,
for I have betrothed you to one husband, that I may present you as a chaste virgin to
Christ.
But I fear lest somehow, as a serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be
corrupted from the simplicity that is in Christ.
For he who comes preaches another Jesus, whom we have not preached.
Or if you receive a different spirit,
which you have not received, or a different gospel which you have not accepted, you may
well put up with it.
And so we have deception here.
I fear that lest as a serpent deceived Eve by his craftiness, so your minds may be
corrupted.
Deception is his number one weapon.
Now he deceives through the lust of the flesh, lust of the eyes, and the pride of life
that's how he does it.
and these things, of course, first John two sixteen, are not of the Father, but they are
of the world.
In Revelation twelve nine, we referred to this earlier, but the great dragon was cast out,
that old serpent called the devil, and Satan, who deceives the whole world.
He was cast to the earth, and the angels were cast out with him.
And so his angels were cast out.
And then in chapter thirteen, verse fourteen of Revelation, and he deceives those who
dwell in the earth.
By those signs which he was granted to do in the sight of the beast, telling those who
dwell on the earth to make an image to the beast who was wounded by the sword and lived.
And then Revelation twenty, verse three, and he cast him into the bottomless pit and shut
him up and set a seal on him, so that he should deceive, and there's that word, deceive
the nations no more till the thousand years were finished, but after these things he must
be released for a little while.
And so again.
God is showing control over Satan.
In Revelation twenty verse eight, and will go out to deceive the nations, that is after
that thousand years, he'll go out to deceive the nations which are in the four corners of
the earth, Gog and Magog to gather them together to battle, whose number is as the sand of
the sea.
And so there is a battle that will take place, but the book says nothing about that
battle, just talks about the victory of Jesus.
But anyway, that's another lesson, we'll get to that one day.
Lord willing.
Alright, so deception is the number one weapon.
uh Deception is how Satan operates.
Secondly, false religion, and these kind of overlap, obviously, but false religion.
Again, going back to 2 Corinthians 11, this time go down to verse 13.
For such are false apostles, deceitful workers, transforming themselves into the apostles
of Christ.
And no wonder, for Satan himself transforms himself into an angel of light.
Therefore, it is no great thing.
If its ministers also transform themselves into ministers of righteousness, whose end will
be according to their works.
And so again, false religion.
And really that's what we have through the book of Revelation as well.
False religion promoted by the state, enforced by others.
but that's what we have in the book of Revelation, and that's another another situation as
well.
All right.
So deception
Satan operates through deception, through false religion, and sometimes through force,
whether political oppression, sometimes natural calamities, physical suffering, uh
anything he can do to deceive people and to get them to deny the Lord.
And he works through people, of course.
As Paul said, we wrestle not against flesh and blood, Ephesians 6 12, but against
principalities, against powers.
Against the darkness of this world, against spiritual rulers and heavenly places.
And so it's not against men, although men are used sometimes.
You look at all that stuff going on in the Middle East and all that, all all based on
false religion and those kind of things, and there's all kinds of violence involved with
that.
And so again, uh Satan goes about like a roaring lion seeking whom he may devour.
Alright, and so Satan is uh something that comes up right away in the book of Job.
And so uh we've took a brief taken a brief look at Satan among the sons of God in Job
chapter one six and chapter two, verse one and two.
And so hopefully this will be helpful to you and in understanding Satan and his angels.
And uh you can always contact the school of preaching and we'll be happy to send you some
notes on this.
And uh share this podcast with others.
And if you have any feedback, we'd love to hear it.
we appreciate your listening.
Now again, the next few uh bumpers as we call them, we're gonna look at some of the some
of the topics out of the book of Job, and uh hopefully it will be very interesting and
helpful to you in your understanding of God's word and understanding God's nature better
and God and understanding our nature better, so that we can more effectively serve Him,
better serve Him, and more effectively teach others.
So we appreciate your listening today, and we look forward to being with you again on
whatever way you download podcasts.
