What is GN in Ten?

A bite-size podcast brought to you by the International Society of Glomerular Disease. Nephrologists and glomerular disease experts Dr. Kenar Jhaveri (Northwell Health/Hofstra University) and Dr. Koyal Jain (UNC Chapel Hill) take a lighthearted look at the latest research, discuss clinical practice, and interview leaders in glomerular medicine — all in a short enough time to listen on your coffee break.

Laurel Damashek: Welcome to GN in Ten, a bite sized podcast brought to you by the International Society of Glomerular Disease. Our hosts are nephrologists and glomerular disease experts Dr. Kenar Jhaveri of Northwell Health and Hofstra University on Long Island, New York, and Dr. Koyal Jain from the University of North Carolina Chapel Hill.

Koyal Jain: So Kenar, are you excited?

Kenar Jhaveri: I'm very excited, Koyal. I think this should be a lot of fun to talk about fun things about glomerular diseases with you and our guests at these regular podcasts.

Koyal Jain: I cannot wait to meet people and talk to them virtually and again, talk about clinical cases and clinical trials, research, things that we can do together. This is a great way to collaborate with each other.

Kenar Jhaveri: Totally. You might be serious, but I'm ready to actually tear them apart a little [00:01:00] bit and make fun of their work and also challenge them with challenging cases. Let's see what they have in it with them.

Koyal Jain: I can't wait for that. I want to see you do that. And I'm happy to help in whatever way possible. This is going to be fun. And I have really enjoyed working with both you and Laurel through this journey with ISGD and the Education Committee. And I'm so excited that as the Education Committee, we've, put together this podcast for people to enjoy, listen to, and even comment on and share with each other.

Kenar Jhaveri: Can't wait.

Koyal Jain: So Kenar, it is hard for people to focus for a long time and just listening to a podcast can sometimes get boring. How are we going to keep this interesting for our folks?

Kenar Jhaveri: Oh, we'll keep it bite sized with the most important tidbits and updates in glomerular diseases so that you can just hear even in a five to ten minute drive to work or back home.

Koyal Jain: Everybody has five to 10 minutes during the day to just listen to something that's that short and can keep them engaged.

Kenar Jhaveri: Totally. Short and sweet, let's say.

Koyal Jain: Perfect.
