Thanks for visiting and I hope you enjoy the time we can spend together.
I wanna again welcome you to The 405 Coffee Break. Guys, get your umbrella not for rain, to keep the sun out. It is hot out there. Get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, bottle of water. Let's see what's happening.
OK Solberg:Spring wheat $6.09 a bushel. 550lb steer calves not moving right now much. So I'll tell you what bread heifers are selling for. $3,900 ahead to $4,300 ahead. I'm not pulling your chain. And a 100lb fat lamb in Billings a range $2.82 all the way up to $3.08 a pound. But guys, there's more much more.
OK Solberg:Well, now just got back from a vacation in Spokane, Washington. Yes, we did. Got to see our son Kenny, our daughter-in-law Carly, and 3 wonderful granddaughters. Old grandpa, that's me. Got to read a lot of books while I was there. Read a lot of books to the girls ages 1, 3, and 7. Now you might be thinking that was mundane reading, but, oh, you are wrong if you thought that.
OK Solberg:We read some good stuff, and I'm gonna share with you a few of those things that I read out loud to my granddaughters while they were sitting on my lap. We had Josephine, Josie, then there's Madeline, Maddie, and finally, little Eleanor, Ellie. I'll share some right after a bible verse that's very fitting.
OK Solberg:From the book of Psalms 127:3-5 Behold, children are a heritage from the Lord. The fruit of the womb is a reward. Like arrows in the hand of a warrior, so are the children of one's youth. Happy is the man who has his quiver full of them. Yes, sir. Psalm 127 3, 4 & 5. Happy is a man who has his quiver full of them.
OK Solberg:So with a child in my lap, I read. I know what I feel like. I'd like to be you and feel what you feel like and do what you do. I'd like to change places for maybe a week and look like you're look like and speak as you speak and think what you're thinking and go where you go and feel what you're feeling and know what you know. I wish we could do it. What fun it would be if I could try you out and you could try me. What about that then? I'd say that's gooder than good.
OK Solberg:Okay. Try this one on for size. When I need a real baby and can't use my brother, my dog is my baby and I'm his mother. I give him a bottle. I brush out his hair. I put on his diaper and booties to pair. I tie on his bonnet and button his smock and into his carriage and off down the block.
OK Solberg:I wave to our neighbors and stop for a chat, but leave in a rush at the sight of a cat. We have a fine time as I wheel him about, and he makes a fine baby until he jumps out. Oh, we had a good time in Spokane. We read more stories than I can keep track of.
OK Solberg:The opposite of dark is light, The opposite of black is white. The opposite of dull is bright. And I eat chocolate cake at night. The opposite of loose is tight. The opposite of peace is fight. The opposite of wrong is right. A circus is a silly sight. The opposite of big is small. The opposite of is tall. The opposite of none is all. Now watch me bounce my rubber ball.
OK Solberg:Now my favorite. And listen. Ask yourself, why didn't we think of this? Dining with his older daughter, dad forgot to order water. Daughter quickly called the waiter. Waiter said he'd bring it later. So she waited, did the daughter, till the waiter brought the water. When he poured it for her later, which one would you call the waiter?
OK Solberg:This episode is brought to you by Josie, Maddie, and Ellie free of charge cause it's fun to have fun cause it's gooder than good.
OK Solberg:So until next time as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
