Good morning and welcome
to your morning cereal.
Okay, good morning and
welcome to Wednesday.
Now here is normally
where I would be saying
at a volume that today is
hump day, but not today.
Because today is quiet day,
which encourages us to turn
it down a little bit today,
reducing the noise,
both literal and emotional.
So maybe today we whisper our opinions
and mute at least one
of those group chats.
All right, well
yesterday's trivia answer, A380.
The largest Airbus plane is the A380.
And now it's time for
the essential vitamins
in your morning cereal.
It's today's quote, and
it's from birthday boy
turning 55 today, Sean
Astin, who said, quote,
"There is some good in this world
and it's worth fighting for," end quote.
Actually, some of you
might've noticed this quote
from one of Sean's characters.
This is some Lord of the Rings,
Samwise level wisdom
for you today, right?
Sometimes we all need a
powerful message of hope
and perseverance against despair
from our friends in the Shryer.
And if you've never seen
the movie or read the book,
well, you should.
Well, let's go ahead
and hear from the experts.
Now it's time to pour
in some let them theory
by Mel Robbins.
Now, in the first
part of this sub chapter,
surviving heartbreak, Mel is
acknowledging something
many people try to rush past.
Heartbreak is not weakness.
It's neurological.
She writes this, quote,
"Heartbreak activates the same pain
centers in your brain
as physical injury," end quote.
Now that's why it feels disorienting.
You're not just dramatic.
Your brain is actually
processing this loss.
Now, Mel explains that
when a relationship ends,
you're not just losing a person,
you're losing the imagined future,
the routines, the shared language,
even parts of your identity.
That layered loss, well, it makes
heartbreak very complex.
The temptation, she
says, is to chase relief
from the very source of pain,
to text, to check social
media, to look for closure.
But Mel writes this, quote,
"Closure is something you
give yourself," end quote.
Now that line shifts
the power back to you.
The let them principle
becomes grounding right here.
If they left, let them.
If they choose differently, let them.
If they're moving on, let them.
Acceptance, it doesn't mean you agree,
but it means you stop
fighting the reality of it.
In fighting reality,
it drains the very
energy that you need to heal.
So, Mel also highlights
the mental spiral, right?
The replaying of conversations,
rewriting history in your mind,
focusing only on those good moments.
Mel says this, quote,
"Your brain prefers familiar pain
"over unfamiliar freedom," end quote.
And that's why we're tempted
to return to what hurts us.
Familiarity feels
safer than the uncertainty.
So, this section is about
stabilization before strategy.
Before the six recommendations that
she'll outline next,
and we're gonna cover that tomorrow,
she focuses on perspective.
Heartbreak is not
proof that you're unworthy,
it's evidence something wasn't aligned.
Healing begins when you stop
negotiating with what happened
and you start
grounding yourself in what is.
All right, here is
your hump day takeaway.
Heartbreak heals when you accept reality,
reclaim your power,
and stop seeking comfort
from the source of pain.
So, on a quiet day, let
yourself sit with what's real
and trust that peace grows in acceptance.
Now, the prize from the
bottom of the cereal box,
the morning cereal
trivia question of the day.
Here it is.
Who has won the most
WSOP bracelets in poker?
It's World Series of Poker Bracelets.
