Julia Pratt – Odyssey
serpentwithfeet – The Hands

Facts
George Harrison – Let It Down
- On this date in 2001, the youngest Beatle died of lung cancer, my favorite of the Fab Four, it must be noted.
- Harrison was the group's lead guitarist. As the group matured, he became a formidable songwriter, with "Taxman" and "Something" among his compositions. Many of his songs didn't land on Beatles albums, as John Lennon and Paul McCartney got precedence, so when the group split, he had three albums worth of songs ready to go. The result was All Things Must Pass, a landmark triple album released in 1970 that includes our opener along with My Sweet Lord and What Is Life.
- Interestingly, even though All Things Must Pass was a triple LP, Harrison in fact had about double that ready to go due to John & Paul passing on so many of his tunes while the Beatles were still around.
- Harrison would remain active through the 70’s, but would eschew the spotlight after the murder of John Lennon in 1980. A man who lived in search of the higher power, and always with a great sense of dry humour, George Harrison, rest in power supreme.
meija – How You Like
- Under the guise of Meija, this is LA based producer and songwriter Jamie Sierota, who makes music for our collective inner child who appears courtesy of Kitsune.
- By now a veteran, nothing larger announced with this single as far as I can tell, so we’ll just have to wait & see.
april june – making out at the cemetery
- Feeling a bit triggered here Kat, as this is my main move with the ladies although now that I’ve said that on the mic that might at least partially explain my lack of success in that department.
- Not a lot of info to glean on the biographic side, but their debut LP dropped in 2020 called feelings on the internet.
Eli Smart – Baby Benzing
- This is an interesting artist and an interesting album. Eli Smart just released Aloha Soul last Friday, and this artist is originally from Hawaii on the island of Kauai.
- Interestingly, Smart now calls Liverpool home. Aloha Soul is the artist’s own branding of the sound they create, a blend of 60’s rock, jazz, and Tropicalia.
- Highly recommended, especially if during these months you need a bit of sunshine.
Julia Pratt – Odyssey
- This is a new single from Pratt, who hails from Philly.
- The song, released last Wednesday, is an expression of being visited by sudden tragedy and loss, which has helped Pratt’s loved ones immensely over the past few years, which it is hoped can be passed onto the listener.
serpentwithfeet – The Hands
- serpentwithfeet has shared a special bonus track that appears in the end credits of A24’s new film The Inspection, which features an original score by Animal Collective.
- “The movie will go into wide release starting December 2, but you can hear “The Hands” now. Well, after Julia Pratt’s Odyssey, that is. That’s gonna do it for the 1st quarter, more to come after the jump.

Part 2
Peach Tree Rascals - Yesterday *
Park Soeun - About everything
Owell Mood - Vanishing Cats
Jadu Heart - Freedom
Vox Rea - Julia
Elvis Depressedly - In That Sound

Facts
Peach Tree Rascals - Yesterday 2.53
- Despite the name of the single, Peach Tree Rascal released a new track over a week ago and has recently announced a new album, The End of Time, coming on the 2nd of December.
- This will be their third album since debuting their first last year. However don't be fooled, peach tree rascals have been on the scene since 2018; definitely finding and refining their sound as neat as they can.

Park Soeun - About everything 3.37
- South Korean indie singer songwriter 박소은 is out with new dream single, About Everything 별게 다 궁금하지.
- Apparently, the song was inspired from the sudden realization of when you fall in love. The artist explains how everyone has a different way of showing signs of falling in love, however they all coincide with one; when you start to wonder about the person. You begin to think, what are they doing right now? What music do they listen to? Or about everything of them.

Owell Mood - Vanishing Cats 3.16
- South Korean solo artist Owell Mood has released their debut album, Love is Drug. Funny enough, they've been active since 2018 and just now debuted an album. However the artist stayed busy producing and songwriting for not only himself, but for countless other artists in Korea.
- The 9 track collective is a culmination of hip-hop, r&b, and indie rock. Sounds messy, but I definitely suggest you take a gander and listen to the album. It's pretty neat.

Jadu Heart - Freedom 4.08
- London noise pop duo Jadu Heart have shared two new songs ‘Freedom’ and ‘Blame’, before their third album, Derealised, releases next year on January 20th. With their first and second albums clocking up millions of streams internationally, the duo seems to know what they're doing.
- Jadu comments on Freedom saying, ‘Freedom’ is a song about wanting to escape, it seems almost impossible to get away from the constant claustrophobic tightening of technology, information overload, bills and commitments; unfortunately that just seems an integral part of life in the 2020’s. This song is a dream for space to breathe…

Vox Rea - Julia 2.48
- Put under the genre "new indie pop for hopeless romantics", Julia is the latest single of dark pop duo Vox Rea.
- It is said Vox Rea supplies a soundtrack to the confusion and euphoria of coming of age in a postmodern world. Definitely a comment I agreed with as I listened to our pick today.
- It's a tune that really highlights the moment of realization for the love of someone, and so sweet and bitter. It's a perfect soundtrack.

Elvis Depressedly - In That Sound 3.30
- Active since 2011, American experimental pop project Elvis Depressedly has shared their newest single In That Sound.
- Staying quiet since 2020, the duo have recently released a total of two singles this past few weeks, possibly indicating a new album or EP on the way.
- It is said their music is described as, evoking childhood nights fraught and existential dread. I personally never knew childhoods can have existential dreads..

Part 3
Cheon Jinwoo - 여름좀비
Haunter - Voodoo Trailer
Mazey Haze - I feel Like A Child
Gwak Tae Poong - Memory
Ethel Cain - famous last words (an ode to eaters)
Marni - Fragile

Facts
Cheon Jinwoo - 여름좀비 (Summer zombie) 3.57
- South Korean Indie folk artist 천진우 shared their sophomore album, 명상좀비. In English, Meditation Zombie.
- Having released only two collections this year, our artist is very new. Apparently the album was named Meditation Zombie in ode to the new generation. Young adults struggle through never ending anxiety and competition, never able to rest, running around like modern tech zombies. He writes these 8 tracks in hopes to help them one way or another.

Haunter - Voodoo Trailer 5.13
- I don't know how I haven't heard of this band before. Active since 2012, Milwaukee experimental indie rockers Haunter have shared their new album, Fieldy.
- The band continues innovating their atmospheric, dreary sound with their newest seven track collection. The album has a theme of seeking meaningful moments through the mundanity and chronic emptiness of everyday life, whether it’s interaction with objects or amusement by your friends.

Mazey Haze - I feel Like A Child 3.25
- Amsterdam Artist, Mazey Haze returns with a dreamy new single, ‘I Feel Like A Child’.
- It's said Mazey Haze will also release a new EP ‘Back To The Start’ on April 7th of next year; and I gotta say she’s got a refreshing, melodic, completely engaging sound to her.
- The artist adds on to the release saying, “‘I Feel Like A Child’ is a song about beautiful mundanity in comparison to superficial humanity. I think these two have an amazing contrast next to each other and they’re two things that have always fascinated me.”

Ethel Cain - famous last words (an ode to eaters) 3.25
- American Singer-Songwriter Ethel Cain has shared new song ‘famous last words’.
- The songwriter’s album ‘Preacher’s Daughter’ arrived earlier this year, a display of maturity and invention. On its release, Clash praised “a heart-wrenching collection of songs that urges the listener to give themselves over to this album as much as Ethel Cain gives herself over to you.”
- Emerging from the theater after finishing new Timothée Chalamet and Taylor Russell venture, Bones And All, she wrote and recorded the new single as an ode to the movie.

Woo - Repeat 3.14
- South Korean rapper, Woo, real name 우원재, released their latest 6 track EP, Comma.
- Despite genred under as a rapper and creating hip-hop, new EP Comma shows promise in alternative indie music.
- Our pick Repeat is the first track to the collective. With a slow, calm start, the song itself is an expression of being tired with common life. It's a constant repeat. You think about the past, how nothing was everything and life wasn't as bland looking. But hey, it comes around at the end. A repeat back to the beginning, to where it was fun and interesting.

Marni - Fragile 3.32
- A fresh new artist from California, solo project Marni released their newest album Whiskey Girl.
- I have to admit, it's been a few weeks since its release, however It was definitely something that should not be slept on.
- Consisting of seven tracks, it's a short but compact collection of dreamy experimental indie rock. Fragile is the 5th track and if you like what you hear, check out the album.

Part 4
Ian Frandsen - Westcoast Cowboy
Dayglow & Endel - Then It All Goes Away (Dancing)
Beach Novels - undress *
GLOSSER - Movies
Ducktails - Jack O Lantern
Woo - Repeat

Facts
Ian Frandsen - Westcoast Cowboy 3.04
- Based in Florida, solo project Ian Frandsen collaborates with soul sound artist komataya.
- Projecting everything chill, hip, soft, and good, Westcoast Cowboy is a beautiful tune that has been under the works for nearly two years! Pouring all their love and soul to the song, it is a definite banger for everybody to listen to on repeat.
- I've personally added it to my playlist, and will be on the lookout for more in the future.

Dayglow & Endel - Then It All Goes Away (Dancing) 4.42
- After their epic 4th album release back in the beginning of October, Dayglow came back with a remix of their popular track, Then It All Goes Away, in collaboration with Endel.
- Funny enough, listening to the track, it seems less of a "dancing" tune than the original. Nonetheless, it's calm, serene, and a tune to groove to.

Beach Novels - undress 3.20
- Describing their sound as late night drive music, Mississippi band Beach Novels released their newest, Undress.
- Active since last year with only one EP and a few singles out, the band is pretty fresh to the scene and is in definite need of more attention!
- A pleasant mixture of old 80s pop vibes and Lo Fi haze, Undress is an upbeat tune that can lighten you up. Also, who can forget the epic sax solo in between? Neat.

GLOSSER - Movies 3.47
- Washington D.C. pop outfit GLOSSER are back with a beautiful fusion of indie and electronica on their new single, ‘Movies’.
- The shimmering new track treats listeners to an emotive sound that feels dreamy and transcendental in tone.
- Glosser's debut album ‘DOWNER’ is scheduled for release next year on the 27th of January. I wonder what kind of dreamy world we'll get to listen to then.

Ducktails - Jack O Lantern 3.34
- A solo project led by American songwriter and guitarist Matt Mondanile, Ducktails has shared a new single, Jack O Lantern.
- The band's music has been alternately characterized as "woozy, horizontal pop", Jack O Lantern does just that and sends you to an alternate woozy wave.
- The single is the first release since Ducktails's 14th album, Daffy Duck in Hollywood, was shared early this year.

Gwak Tae Poong - Memory 4.59
- Freshly new South Korean indie artist 곽태풍 has debuted their first album I'm a Rockstar! 나는야 락스타!
- The 9 track album is a beautiful collective from groovy upbeat dance tunes, to chill dreamy Lofi rock. Reminiscing of the past our artist defines music as time itself. From the moment when you were born, take your first steps, learn your first chords on the guitar, up to now as an adult; all of this is what rock means to him.
- The debut album is an album representing his life with sound. He hopes this would help other reminisce and enjoy memory lane as well.
