Regrets? They have a few.
Welcome to the Know the Difference Minute for Wednesday, March 30th.
Another month, another JOLTS survey with the number of people switching jobs. It’s called the Great Resignation—but new data is suggesting the old saying, The grass is always greener on the other side of the fence might be wrong. A new phrase is emerging: The Great Regret.
One survey of 2500 workers who switched jobs revealed that nearly ¾’s felt either surprise or regret their new position turned out to be different from what they were led to believe. So much so that 48% of these workers would try to get their old job back.
My advice: before jumping ship, talk to management. Work to find a solution that fits you and the company. Ultimately, it could be far better than joining The Great Regret down the road.
