it's episode seven yes it is adam how we doing today man it is good like this is good this week has been full of full of crazy stuff happening but you know i feel like it's been a good week how about you yeah it's only two days in but yeah i feel like a lot's going on new addition to our family we finally pulled the trigger and bought a dog over the weekend on valentine's day it was not planned went to dinner at night planned not planned we we i wanted to go to mexico restaurant for you know valentine's day with my three kids and my wife obviously my kids don't really yeah like that but they'll eat something there i wanted to go to one by this soccer park my wife's like let's go to the one by it's called el mague next to a pet land whatever they call it and long story short i told my son who didn't wanna cooperate in the bathroom if he would hurry up we could go look at puppies afterwards and we did third dog we held came home with us that night so oh wow what kind of dog is that he's a mini goldendoodle his name is charlie lebron i got lebron in the middle name so i tried to every one of my kids would get lebron then her wife wouldn't do it she's like basically have another child because a doodle isn't a dog it's a child it is a child it was it's been interesting to say the least but we're getting back on the ground we had dogs years ago they both passed away about two and half years ago so we've been waiting we're gonna wait longer to the year but added a new element to our house but he's great he's been a lot of fun he has pooped a few times in the house just what can you do they're they're puppies he's like twelve weeks old coolest thing though he was born a day after my birthday so i won't forget that that's awesome least i can go back work my dog my dog has been with us for five years and he still poops in the house so anyways yeah let's let's get into that's that's not for the podcast here or there but let's let's get into it we have some fun stuff planned for this week we're gonna do this a little bit differently than we normally do so we have we're gonna experiment a little bit we're gonna we're gonna try and get through this opening pyro and some of the card market high spots early on we have a special guest joining us later on in the podcast stephanie garcia of mama breaks it's gonna be great to have her on we're gonna cover just her background and her community that she's built around the breaking that she does on mama breaks a huge wrestling fan wanted to have her on the podcast we're gonna start bringing on some guests i would guess over the next couple of shows so excited to to have those people join us but you know if things get a little choppy here and there because we have to manage another individual joining halfway through a recording just bear with us but let's let's just talk about some quick stuff at the top of the show about what's going on in wwe this elimination chamber is shaping up to be a very very important pay per view and i don't know if it was meant to be like this dependent on everything but i feel like with all the injuries and everything that's going on like they are really putting a lot of pressure on this show yeah i think the injuries are causing a lot of issues right now and it's changing so many storylines so this is important to get this right i mean you're figuring out who your opponents are gonna be for jade and drew mcintyre so you're getting probably new faces in there that may not have been in that position so i don't know i'm excited to see it play out i am very excited about this chamber i wish i can make it up to chicago it's only about four and a half hours but i will be watching from home yeah for sure now over the the last couple of weeks we we've finally got a title defense out of jade cargill it had been i think somewhere in upwards of like a hundred days without her actually defending the women's title she won from tiffany stratton and it's unfortunate because i think it does a disservice to the show i think it just does a disservice to the fans and you know glad she finally got a a chance to defend it i don't know why like that there wasn't an explanation there was no point to that in my opinion as to like was she injured and just couldn't wrestle or what or just she just couldn't wrestle i mean let's be honest i mean too these were these were issues when she came over from aew she was so dominant there but came over to here it's a different you know things are different in wwe she's the female goldberg yes we've established this hundred percent spot on yeah so i think like coming into this chamber i'm not seeing like they're not gonna bring somebody on raw over to wrestle her at wrestlemania i don't think so i think we're probably gonna have some combination of some smackdown stars in the elimination chamber with a very key chance at winning tiffany stratton probably number one i like i don't know do they have jade beater at wrestlemania i think that that's a mistake like i don't think jade is the right person to hold the title right now with smackdown in the state that it's in but maybe tiffany going right back to being the title holder don't know if that's the right call either bianca belair seems to be having surgery she announced it on instagram whether that's a swerve and she's back at the elimination chamber and she wins and faces jade at wrestlemania that's the money match so maybe that happens i don't know i any any feedback there that you could think of that would make this better than the shit show that it is right now listen it is what you said it's spot on i mean right now i don't know are we going back to tiffany regaining it i mean you remember tiffany squashed you know jade in one match they had to go then jade ends up winning i don't know i mean tiffany is probably the best name and probably the most i guess fair opponent to go up right now i don't really know who else you're gonna put in that position i mean you can't i mean you can't put alexa bliss just too tiny yet that wouldn't even look right you know no i don't know alexa and alexa's on raw like i don't think she's on exactly that's my point it's like do you thinking the names like we don't are we getting i don't know man i don't know what point yeah yeah i know you were gonna say i was like i don't wanna say it but like i don't really know i think this one's a mess right now you have to get i think a face on that belt if i you know unless liv doesn't take it from stephanie but i think all signs point that she should but again stephanie is unbelievable so i i feel like you need to balance it out you need to have one you know one being a face one being a heel carrying these belts on opposite sides doesn't have to be that way so it's a matter of who is the best pick opponent bianca i get it makes sense now that would be back to back years of her winning elimination chamber but if she having surgery there's a storyline there with bianca there's no question there's a storyline to build up that would be great i'm not a big bianca fan but i think that's the most storyline set up for them to face off but i don't know it's it's a mess right now in my opinion yeah i as a whole smackdown right now is a complete disaster and i blame like the fact that they just didn't have a plan coming out of cena and like it's just it and they focus so much on raw i think raw has been pretty good i think it's been you know at least entertaining i think smackdown has been basically abysmal and it reminds me of like twenty eighteen and twenty nineteen when like you had one show that got all the focus and the other show just withered on the vine i think that's kinda what's happening here because i think the on the other side of it like with with drew drew's opponent at wrestlemania i think they're telling the story that it's gonna be cody and i just roll my eyes like i i like is that inevitable are we heading that direction just basically on all the hints they're dropping you know i i hope that basically they're setting up all these hints then they're gonna throw a curveball and it's not gonna be that's my hope is that they're doing that please no please don't it's time to pivot cody could do other things he doesn't need to carry the belt let's get a new fresh face to to if you're gonna take the belt off let's get a fresh face i don't think they are yeah i don't think drew's looking at wrestlemania so that's whoever he faces is gonna lose yeah exactly i mean if he is gonna lose let's get a fresh face if he isn't the if it's gonna be cody then let's just get the story over with finally it's kinda how i'm at this point within a whole situation i i think i think this is the time to put the change on cody whatever if it's gonna be homelander cody or if it's gonna be something please give us something fun with cody rhodes because i again i'm not a huge fan of cody rhodes never have been but you know i like the story they told came in coming into wrestlemania forty let's hope that they can find a similar story coming out of the elimination chamber they're gonna have a month plus to tell it so so so roman was the same situation years ago as the big dog and it was so we were over it forever over it forever and it was like they missed the boat they missed the boat they should've turned him they shoulda hadn't and i said years ago like i stand by it put paul heyman on the guy make him a heel it'll be great what better heel than he was i mean what an incredible run he had it's time i think cody has done all the right things come back and wrote the story all this stuff it's time for a change but the question is are they gonna actually shit or get off the pot they're gonna keep say keeping rinse and repeat the same thing over or are we gonna get a new one yeah we also saw on raw this past week that liv morgan and stephanie vacair are definitely heading on a collision course at wrestlemania that was pretty much a given we don't need to spend a ton of time there because i know we have a lot of other stuff to talk about but i i really hope stephanie vicair wins but liv morgan is going to win they have made her the focal point of the women's division on raw and i think that it's gonna be hard to tell liv morgan that you've gone through all of this being the bridesmaid and now you can't be the bride even though you won the raw row i i think that's unfair she'll win but not clean it won't be a clean win it'll be dirty obviously hope they can be green no you can't make you gotta you can't make stephanie look two weeks you gotta have it not clean you know stephanie is unbelievable alright let's get into some card market high spots real fast here before our guest joins us and what and this is why i was saying it was a crazy week so far and it's only been two days in so over the weekend on sunday i wanna talk about this sale that logan paul has because he's a professional wrestler and he completed the the sale of the most expensive trading card ever sold the most expensive pokemon card ever sold the most expensive anything ever sold from a pop culture perspective what like when you see logan paul sort of being at the forefront of this mega card that is sold twice in a matter of years but major controversy around this card with liquid marketplace like you like if you really wanna go read back on this there is a long conversation to be had about whether or not he should even have the right to sell this card and and claim the sales he's on monday night raw claiming you know he's he's bringing this into a promo like he is cutting promos during the livestream like it was it was like i i think it was borderline a work shoot to begin with like it it just feels like you know they they did some working on the broadcast when they were doing this and i know brett mcgrath on stacking slabs had dave ammerman on his show it was a great interview go back and listen to that so there's there's a lot of things swirling around this card i know it's been very interesting but what's what's your reaction when you saw this thing monday morning because it ended really late what was your reaction to the big sale i okay first off they marketed the hell out of this card for several several months this was yeah beyond marketing long auction but from being a standpoint and being in you know nothing of this nature when i saw this sale i was like what i i don't okay first off i'm not a pokemon guy i don't know what this card represent what this card stands for so you have a better idea because you are more in a pokemon so i can't compare and contrast this to a sports card or anything like that but what i'll say is in this market in these big auction houses a lot of times these bids are like hey you have open bidding but you have liquid stuff with this in your account a lot of times people use that stuff to use to put towards bidding i'm not saying it for this situation so a lot of times it's like the auction house is like hey we'll front you x amount of dollars anything over that we'll we'll you gotta cover or they'll look at what you have in your portfolio and say you have unlimited bidding you know and most time we're not talking about a sixteen point five million dollar card so you i do question this is a lot different but i i do question all this right here if regardless great eyes on the hobby great eyes on the industry this is just bringing more people into the space there's no question this is being talked about on national media probably the world as well let's be honest because this is something it up yep so again outstanding if it's real if it's legit we don't know we'll never know maybe and again love how he was cutting a promo on it logan paul can have it great love it he's a perfect heel for this perfect everything but he he is passionate about it he loves it and he made a great roi that's for damn sure yeah and i i think so like i the only reason i i know a a little bit about this card is because i i have gotten into pokemon a little bit just from some of the side things that i've been doing working with some different groups and things like that and like this card is legitimately really important it is whether or not it's it is the only psa ten is up for debate there's debate about everything the person who bought it is aj scaramucci and if you're familiar with the last name he his father was a a week long white house communications director for donald trump like there there's like so many elements to this whether or not logan paul had a piece of the auction and was bidding up you know lots within the auction i mean like there's literally like innuendo and rumors all over the internet as every time something like this happens like the the gawkers come out of the woodwork they all have something to say whether it's good for the market or bad for the market doesn't really matter like it it's just it the same reaction happens every single time which is is this real is this not like all the things that you went through and all of those are legitimate questions like we should be asking those questions i think like from a pokemon perspective like the card is really important is it this important i think is is a question mark but one thing that i did wanna call attention to just real quickly is that over the last six months there have been four of the top or i'm sorry four of the top five sales of all time for all of sports cards have happened in the last six months you have two dual logo men one of them went to shine and kevin o'leary one of them was sold to ten million dollars that jordan and lebron won you have the fifty two mantle that sold for a ton of money and then you have this pikachu like things are really interesting in the in the super duper high end part of this market the vip sort of velvet rope area where you're getting bile service with the fireworks and the girls are dancing like that's where these cards are trading hands and it's just really interesting to me that this is all happening in succession but i think like one of the the things i did wanna sort of talk about is like it it seems like the the commoditization of sports cards and the corporate entities that are coming in and and really putting money into this space is growing exponentially by the day all those people who think that this market is fragile and not sustainable and all these other things like there's there's a a reason to believe that that's probably true but there's also a lot of evidence that says big money is here to stay you know real quick just to talk about how far we have come in this industry remember a guy by the name of steven strasberg his booming chrome super rookie some guy that was a business bought back in twenty ten i believe it was that's when it released what did he pay at the time sixteen seventeen thousand dollar can't remember the exact it was like it was back then was like oh my gosh we're talking fifteen years ago and that guy got national level news he was on talk shows and he was obviously talking about the card because at that time was like this is just crazy a modernized card but look where we're at now look at how much has changed and we're talking about fractions fifteen years ago in spending versus what is now and what isis is bringing in so just to go back food for thought how big that card was at the time for a modernized card here we are looking at this type of stuff going for millions and millions and millions of dollars yeah and one of the other things here this is one of the only topics we're gonna cover just in this part of the podcast is because we like this was a relatively slow news week from a wrestling card perspective but from a hobby perspective like logan paul as a professional wrestler like there is and it was talked about all over the broadcast he they had wrestling cards make cameos they were vintage ones making cameos on the broadcast lot of talk of sort of what logan represents and i think like he's starting his own platform of live commerce it's gonna have wrestling elements to it if if not just the showmanship of it versus actual wrestling cards but i think like it's gonna be hard to separate him from the circumstances of like hey he's a professional wrestler he's gonna have trading card i think we're both in agreement that eventually that's gonna happen topps is gonna make a wrestling card of logan paul he is a professional wrestler we talked about it being on the finest checklist of the picture that wasn't supposed to get out remember that yeah exactly so he was originally he has had tops now cards so like there there are things that suggest to me that this is not a one time thing and as those things grow and as he becomes more ingrained in the collector atmosphere whether people hate him or love him or whatever like it doesn't really matter where what he represents in the space it's just the eyes around him are gonna come to the space as a result and i think because of his sort of adjacent existence in professional wrestling there may be more attention delivered to wrestling cards as a result maybe it's a minor amount maybe it's a tiny fraction or maybe he's gonna start to say like oh by the way i have these cards in tops like he did for tops now you should go buy them and all of a sudden his millions of social media followers are alerted to the fact that he's in a wrestling set right yep let's just get into some sales real quick here we've got a a few more minutes before our guest joins on here i wanted to call attention to to this roxanne perez cactus jack rodeo rebel superfractor sold for twenty five hundred dollars via best offer on ebay earlier in february can we just talk for one second about cactus jack because this set continues over and over and over again the one on ones the rare and desirable cards coming out of this set continue to have giant prices i know i just paid for one so like like what what is why is this happening basically do you think where the social media narrative around cactus jack is horrendous but the cards continue to sell higher and higher and higher yeah it's so it's crazy it's these are inserts we're talking about and these aren't case hits this is just run the mill insert right here this this you know the rodeo rebels one it's funny i just priced like a rhea ripley gold today to fifty and it was a hundred dollar card yeah exactly if you look at like other things over to fifty it's like twenty thirty bucks so i wonder if people are saying hey we don't there's not gonna i don't think there's ever gonna be another wwe cac i think it's a one time set and i think as bad as it got at you know the backlash for the hobby not the wrestlemania i think people were just put in perspective this is not happening again so are they going oh prism was only three years this is a one time deal don't get me wrong some of these inserts are really awesome looking parker's got some i've got some of the supers you do as well but traditionally super insert we're talking that's not a major case it is you know for this comparable to anybody else's you know thousand hours tops now we're seeing two twenty five hundred what was the jade cargo we saw just did two grand and now we're seeing roxanne perez doing twenty five hundred i know there's a lot of hype in future roxanne perez here but at the end of the day we're still talking about an insert that's not a case hit doing this type of number which is just crazy to me and it's changing the element of all types of wrestling cards values in my opinion yeah and i'm guessing danny medina or one of the other roxanne perez collectors got this card hopefully they did at least i i think the rodeo rebels is probably the best looking insert that they have in the entire set so it makes sense that it would be among the the the top value but like yeah i think like the wrestlemania version i don't think people truly realize like how scarce that set really was like there's a lot of stuff that's short printed in trading cards nothing was as short printed as that wrestlemania set like you go back to twenty fourteen chrome we did the calculations i think there was maybe two hundred and fifty hobby cases produced i see it was it was such a tiny run and i think this in terms of total cards available i think the wrestlemania version of cactus jack is well under the total number of cards the original chrome in fourteen had a retail version so it's kinda skewed things a little bit this stuff from the wrestlemania version should be put on a pedestal in a lot of different ways even if you're not a fan of the design you have to appreciate how limited it is the hobby stuff i think people do have a really bad taste in their mouth because they expanded the print run they did all these other things because it was originally supposed to be like one autograph a box that changed everything it out yeah they spaced it out it made people upset but the cards themselves the inscriptions i mean when that rhea ripley the one with a little drawing on it of the devil and the inscription it's it's sitting in my warehouse right now in one of these it's waiting it's waiting right there i know steve keeps ripping that but oh steve keeps chasing the hell out of that card i i'm okay couple things about the cactus check i'm with you that's where they screwed up it should have been autograph per box i think would have changed everything the boxes would be worth more money because then a collector is getting you know twelve autographs a case versus four and the other thing is all wwe is heating up cactus jack we sold actually a good amount over the past twenty four hours it is starting to trend up now it was about the two forty ish box price it's starting to creep up i think these will be three hundred dollars a box here real soon i saw a blowout had them for three hundred bucks yesterday i do see the trend on these coming up however i question how many are out there because like you said the added the print run and everything in that nature and the fact that you'll be one auto yeah there's a lot of being that ria out there if that doesn't surface we know that car was done that's gonna continue to drive this up when this product starts to dry up when that happens because in my opinion at two fifty a box i'd rip these at two fifty a box versus paying six hundred dollars a box for twenty five top scrum hobby to get two autos i think that's where i'm at with it as a price point you know yeah i agree with you i think that rhea ripley when it comes out probably gonna be one of the top sales of the year there's so many people chasing it i hope steve gets it i know he's really really hard on for it alright let's look at another card here the twenty twenty five topps chrome wwe blue brand super fractured autograph of chelsea green mid nine psa sold on ebay for twenty one hundred dollars via best offer on february tenth i i'm not a fan of these cards like i don't like this design i think the design is wonky i think the photos were pretty bad but i think this chelsea green one in a super fracture looks absolutely awesome she didn't add an inscription she put the heart on it which i think might be be a a special thing but this is a a huge price for chelsea this might be her top sale of all time yeah actually i'm pretty sure i know the guy that bought it which is brandon he was waiting to show me a picture today but he did text me about it this should be in his possession today and he was like i wonder if you guys are gonna talk about this he never hinted to it but then we were talking about chelsea green later and he was telling me what cards he had and he did say the top's come super auto so i i think chelsea green is i think we're both chelsea green fans here i think people getting in front of her right now is huge because there is she's going to get that moment she's such a team player we've talked about this before i think buying her stuff right now i i see this sale and if the trajectory happens where she doesn't have a kid anytime soon we're gonna see this card and her cards explode i mean she already got a big uptick when she came back from the first time his autograph used to be semi affordable and now they've gone up tremendously so if this is yours brandon congrats by the way yeah i think like her her marriage to matt cardona and his influence over people in the hobby doesn't hurt either no and so i i think people were expecting that he was gonna buy this card but either way like i think it's a it's a it's a psa nine auto ten great you know great looking card twenty one hundred dollars i think is very affordable for probably her one of her if not the top card ever mhmm i think you know once we get the the i don't think she was on wrestlemania so she might not have a wrestlemania patch autograph coming in royalty i can't think of i i don't think so but you know so this is probably gonna stand up for a while and like i think she'll eventually get like the fact that they haven't put her in a title match yet is so ridiculous like how she has like even if jade just you know goes and squashes her i think they wrestled i don't know if that was the the titles no who did she was she the one she defended against but either way like chelsea green needs a a better focus i know through unreal and some of the commentary afterwards like michael hayes was talking shit about her and she wasn't appreciative of that but you know she's great she deserves every every aspect of it she's one of the best sort of behind the scenes sort of people i hear she's one of the best to work with like she's just great so anyways quickly following up on the last one we'll cover today before our guest gets here in around few minutes i wanted to call attention to this this is not one of the most expensive sales of the week i i've skipped a bunch of cards mostly kabooms in downtowns because we talked those to death but also because like this is really interesting so this is the stephanie vacaire tops now black autograph out of ten was the the one where she won the crown jewel championship which i think is just stupid to begin with but the the photo's cool like she's holding the title up like all these other things it went for a thousand dollars via auction on february thirteenth so she does not have a lot of cars she doesn't have she has even fewer right now yeah exactly she has even fewer autographs seeing an unimportant tops now card signed out of ten go for a thousand dollars definitely not what i was expecting but i wanted to call attention to it because people are still believing in her even though it's pretty much clear cut that liv morgan's gonna beat her at wrestlemania it doesn't matter people are still ready to put tons of money into her cards yeah i would i would advise to pace yourself on things like this and i think adam would as well because we know it's around the horizon when we start getting more tots products she is gonna be a focal point in these products signings everything in that nature so a card like this i doesn't see long term sustainability hold if it's one on ones hundred percent behind that but with something like this where they again crown jewel not a a major moment not a major thing i i advise not pouring your money here because you're gonna get more and more in the next year or two of her agreed alright so we're gonna stop this section of the podcast and we're gonna bring on our guest here so give us a couple of minutes and we'll be from one stephanie to another well from one stephanie to another alright
welcome back i have our esteemed guest stephanie garcia of mama breaks welcome stephanie to book to last happy to have you on thank you for joining us of course thank you so much for having me on when you asked me to when ryan asked me to be on here i was so excited stacking slabs is something is a podcast i've been listening to since i first started and got back into this as an adult so definitely grateful to be here and obviously a big huge fan of this podcast so far so i'm honored you so much we got one we got one adam we got one fan we got one fan yeah we we can we almost have a whole hands worth so that's that's good stephanie you are i know we talk a lot just about different things that you do on your channel just for breaking and your involvement with the wrestling card community but you know i i have to say like one of the reasons that i think we were so excited to have you on is because you are very visible within the hobby community you have such you've incorporated wrestling as like one of your sort of primary fandoms here and it's really cool to see that somebody you know who does what you guys are doing with topps and everything you're doing on fanatics live has such a a connection to the wrestling community which i think has been one of those things that a lot of the collectors out there really have have said is like hey i don't know if i wanna go on to these other platforms the breakers there don't really have as much of a connection to the wrestling products they're breaking you're much different and i think that's one of the reasons that i think we've connected i know you and ryan go go back a while as well and and just i wanted to comment on that and just give you your kudos there so thank you for for joining us i'm excited to have this conversation and you know just let's start if you don't mind i have a photo of here from you at fanatics fest addressed as rhea ripley and like tell us about your background like what got you into wrestling like what where where did you sort of develop your wrestling fandom like did your kids have any influence on you in that respect or you know like give us a little bit of background there well first of all thank you for the kind words i mean i love breaking and i love i love ripping cards in general so long before i started doing wrestling breaks i was ripping cases of select i was ripping cases of twenty one top's finest because when i got back into this as an adult the biggest reason was for basketball cards you know i just decided i wanted a lamelo ball rookie one day and then i started looking into cards uneven i was like wait there's star wars cards wait wwe cards and that's how kinda like this all started and i think breaking for me has been just a way to kind of re rekindle my love for things that i loved as a kid and it's something that i really enjoy so everything that you said and the way that people feel about our streams i mean i'm just to me it's we haven't done enough and it just fires me up to continue doing more for that i want people who you know come and join breaks in our streams to understand that we care about the experience more so first and foremost above everything because we're there to have fun you know joining breaks can be risky in so many different ways and and i was just so happy to hear that from you and i i i think i don't hear that enough so it fires me up for sure my background in wwe essentially is i started watching when china was a big deal you know for the first time i saw a woman out there that was strong and she was badass and she was kicking ass you know kicking the boy's ass yeah and me growing up i was always a tomboy i was always one of the most athletic and always playing with the boys always playing rough with the boys growing up so you know i did have a little bit of a self consciousness in me thinking i wasn't girly enough you know my favorite color wasn't pink and i prefer to play sports other than play with dolls so i think someone like chyna for me was super important as a little girl i just thought she was so amazing and i wanted to be her and look like her when i grew up and then i kinda caught the tail end of her and when i really started watching wrestling was wwf thursday night smackdown yeah and this was like the too cool scottie too hottie era like rakeshi i remember besides chyna that was my thing like i just thought you know the i don't know don't even wanna say it was like the girliness in me i was like yeah kurt angle undertaker like those guys are cool and everything but they're so serious you know i like watching wrestling because i like them what doing the worm and i like the stink face it cracked me up i had so much fun and that's kinda like the nature that joyful nature that i've always had as a kid and that again brought that out in me in a you know growing up in a household of six or seven of us as a kid you know we grew up in south central la with ton of kids in one in one house prime wwe watching it was like going out with a bunch of friends every yeah every perfect viewing party every thursday night because right after it was over we're just all fighting right we're all wrestling and it's like oh what you know i don't know if you did this when you were kids but it's like oh i'm i'm this person you know the my cousin is like i'm kurt angle and and everybody's like oh stephanie can't choose who she is because she's stephanie mcmahon and i'm like oh come on like she was like the bad guy you know and and growing up i was like shit i always gotta be stephanie mcmahon that's not fair and now i look back and i'm like she is such a queen like i'm just buddy over the moon you know with those memories and that's kinda what brought me back i i did my first wrestling break was a single box at twenty one women's wrestling back on card shop live in like early i wanna say this was about like three years ago so and i've been hooked ever since that's awesome yeah i think like it's interesting that people i like i love hearing the stories of like how people come to the community like that's something that i think like i've been doing collector interviews for a while i know ryan was one of the people i had on my podcast and originally before we got onto this and it's just it's always so interesting to see how people discover wrestling right it's just like it's either you were exposed to it as a kid or you you run into it from your kids telling you to buy wrestlemania like mine did you know i think it's it's it's always a fun story you know it's and i don't know like you and ryan have you know have sort of this kindred relationship because i think you're both in the industry you know ryan do you wanna say kind of like talk about how you and stephanie got to know each other and then maybe you can comment on that i don't know yeah actually i remember the first time i met stephanie it was at the national one year in chicago and you walked up some girl to my table who had the was it the padme one zero one super auto or the it's the first time i had met her and it was a brief conversation i don't think anything came about and then last year at the national we started really chatting a lot more and then we i sold you that tiffany's triton which you still have if i'm correct absolutely and i ended up pulling the one zero one out of you did yes did you get that one to pair it absolutely not the guy's the guy i pulled it for he's over the moon because he's one of the biggest wrestling collectors i know and he's using it as a trade bait because he wants the black prism oscar oh he thinks he's thinking he's finally gonna be able to get it so he's just like super happy with me wait what year what year black prism oscar i'm not sure if it's a twenty two if it's a twenty two i owned it i actually legitimately owned the twenty two oscar oh do you really i did no i don't own anymore i moved it i moved it sometime last year it's probably that guy that doesn't wanna sell it today it probably is i actually got an ad i actually acquired it at the national national but yeah i moved it for some uncle howdy's for the kid and some other stuff so that's carl smallroll that's funny but so we got to chat at the national and then we were both at the card vault tom brady private invite which was awesome and then we went to the top no we've kinda connected since then and and hands down you know stephanie is without a doubt parker my favorite to break with you go all out your team goes all out you dress up you have the soundboard you all are past you can pronounce names and we again we're we're also star wars buffs as well you know that so mhmm so when it comes to ripping star wars and wwe there's nobody that gets more of my money than stephanie right here i i try to go all out whenever when wwe universe releases next week guess who's getting a lot of my money for breaks mine too right there so so yeah it's just been great to build up upon that and it's gonna come to a fruition this weekend which when do we wanna announce this adam go ahead i think this is the as good a time as any alright so again when you listen to this podcast you listen friday or saturday but stephanie may be in la right now but she's gonna be in stl this weekend at rbi cruise seven i've got randy orton and stephanie garcia in my shop the same weekend same day which is just awesome not stephanie vacare not no stephanie vacare stephanie you're have the horns though mama briggs mama breaks too in your house i do i actually honestly i i'm i'm i'm the first person to hate that say to say that i'm like attractive or anything but when i did the makeup and i dressed up as her i was like holy shit i gotta look like this woman this is pretty crazy know she's from chile you know my my family is from central america so it makes sense oh that's awesome yeah remember when because you you did like a whole i can't remember if that was for cactus jack or finest but you you did like a a whole stephanie vaquer sort of like cosplay and it was awesome because like you had the belt that you were giving away you had a bunch of stuff that you were giving away and i know like when you posted the brakes they sold out so fast because everybody was so hungry for product i i think i got into a few of them but not enough because you really did you pulled what like four finest super fractures in one case or something it was insane i i can't pull in out of control fine my finest i think we ended up with twelve after it was all i mean we're still ripping it so we still i still buy whenever i can yeah so in your opinion like given that you're kind of on the front lines here you're ripping all the product you see it firsthand you're inner you're engaging with the chat the communities in your in your stream like do you feel like the like the momentum is behind wwe cards as much as we tend to think it is like how are you seeing this from the breaker perspective what is what are some of the things that you're running into as you try to grow the community around your own channel and everything your relationship with tops so on and so forth one hundred percent i think when i like i said first started breaking it was breaking wrestling it was so niche it's like i was also even trying to navigate the field of like how do you even break this there's so many wrestlers on the checklist where do i find a price for this person and that person so i think i was doing like random pack breaks at one point this was twenty early twenty twenty two this was before prism and select even came out and i was then trying to once that came out that was definitely a huge surge there right i remember the prism was so hot and people were doing you know it was very rare that people were doing like full ran pick your wrestlers like we are now it was pre whatnot yeah it was pre whatnot pre fanatics live like yeah exactly so i think navigating being part of navigating that whole part of breaking even before tops took over was part of my growth in that i i was doing a lot of select breaking we were doing a lot of different panini stuff and i think i started the pick your wrestler kind of thing on fanatics a year prior to tops chrome releasing so this is like in my opinion for me personally just a small buildup towards what what we were able to accomplish you know once tops did have the licensing i was able to get a a good allocation for it i was dressed up as ripley the year bef the year prior at fanatics fest i was kinda just showing them that like hey i have the audience i have this passion for it i'm really excited to do this kinda took a chance on me and and you know allowed me to put that show on for everyone and i think it went well what i've noticed is it's not no it's no longer as niche as it used to be it's more cultural i have so much more women joining my breaks that's awesome now with wrestling breaks than i ever did before i have families watching with their kids i have people excited to come and just be part of the experience versus hey i'm gonna get a spot because i wanna make money this is that's why pick your wrestler works so well and it works the best for wrestling breaks because people are out there no matter how much their rest are cost even if it's a twenty dollar spot or a two hundred and fifty dollar spot i want my rest are in every single break i don't wanna chase anyone else and i don't think that that's true in any other sport or ip where you're filling every single spot that way like you have a fan for every wrestler no wrestler's too small we got people that are like hey where are my ethan page spots where are my becky lynch spots right exactly ryan texted me hey i need seth rollins and he ran me orders in all of them i think it's it's exciting it's fun and i think it's it's the most fun i've ever had breaking cards can i can i ask you a quick question about you know setting those breaks up is wrestling one of the most challenging ones for you to put together a break because there is so many wrestlers i mean we have star wars which has characters but i feel like wrestling has so many different superstars is it very challenging for you to figure out the pricing and the time and everything personally i've been doing it for so long so i kinda have my formula going and i think i we set the market a lot for for some of these pick your wrestler breaks because of the research we've i've been able to do and i've kind of learned i i think it's different for every breaker i think for me personally i've learned my community really well and i've learned you know what makes sense for every wrestler i also take comps into account a lot yeah good like when i price my brakes i'm on terapeak for days trying to make sure that hey if somebody pulls up candice luray auto in the spot's a hundred bucks it's not really gonna make sense because their autos are selling for five dollars you know it's kinda you kinda have to gauge there and like i said it's it's been something that i've been doing for years so luckily for me it's not as difficult but i could see you know there's a like everything a learning curve to it and i think sometimes too it's part of part of breaking is taking risks you know you're you don't know if something's gonna work and you kinda just put it out there and try and sometimes it feels really fast and sometimes it doesn't you just reassess and try again that's the journey we've been on as far as putting up breaks going so it's it's the same for everything but ww in particular i find it a little easier because of my knowledge well i wanna praise stephanie what she said there she does do a great job of setting the market and setting the standard because the first person that i go to to break with is stephanie and then i go off her pricing so then if i start if i grab all our wrestlers then i go to somewhere else either be fanatics or whatnot me too or or bless whatever i use her and i'm like hey stephanie's this and you want this then i'm not even gonna join this break because that's where the market is and that's where she's done her homework so i'm gonna praise her on that for our listeners to understand that she does a great job her team does a phenomenal job and that they do set a fair market on these type of wrestlers and use them like even if it's sold out use her pricing to see that wrestler then gauge that off for everybody else it's it's a great tool in your advantage to use thank you you're welcome it's the truth yeah i listen i've i i'm my wife when because like after the products come out i usually end up with about ten to twenty packages all with mb on it he's like who is this mb person like i was like i had to explain like what it represented so i think one of the other things is like for people who maybe don't have as much experience breaking online with whatnot or fanatics or just the general breaker community like what would you say to those people if they if they haven't had that experience yet they really haven't been able to engage in any of live commerce platforms that exist what do you think are some of the benefits of working with somebody like your team or you know just being a part of the overall community that's established on these platforms somebody that's joining breaks for the first time you mean mhmm i think it's very important to go with someone who is actually passionate about what you're trying to break i think that sets the tone in any room and not that's obviously not just me i know so many rest wrestling breakers out there who have a passion for what they're doing and those are the communities you wanna be in first and foremost because they're gonna be the most welcoming you know i think that's one thing that i really make sure that we as a team here make sure that we focus on is making sure that every single person feels welcome whether you know wrestling really well and wanna join your first break or whether you don't know anything about wrestling and you wanna join your first wrestling break i don't believe in gatekeeping i believe in transparency i believe in making sure that everyone is there and understands that you know joining breaks are risky this is not a way to make money however if you want a good community where you're gonna you know meet some people and you wanna start your wrestling collection i think joining breaks sometimes is a really cool place to start because you're kinda taking a chance at a certain restaurant that you really enjoy and again even if you can trust that my pricing is transparent i'm always always always open to feedback i'm not saying that my pricing is always the best and the most correct i'm always open to feedback i think that transparency is super important so making sure that you're you're joining in with a breaker that's able to explain their pricing and why certain wrestlers are priced the way they are that's one of the most important things if a if a breaker is able to do that and is saying that my spot is too expensive or my spot is too cheap i appreciate that because we could have a conversation about it that's what cards are right and we don't really know what the value of things are everything's subjective based on what somebody wants to pay for it so i think being able to have a conversation with your breaker making sure breaker's passionate transparent and welcoming are the the things that you really have to take into account and most importantly joining breaks is for fun so if you're not having fun i would consider going with someone that you will have fun with or at least you know invite some friends and watch the breaks together and join breaks together because that hurts that's the sting it hurt what is it like it calms down the sting a little bit more when you're when you don't really hit that huge card that you're hoping to hit because it is super rare to do that i feel like that's a a thing that most people that join breaks for the first time can it's kinda hard to hear and it's kinda hard for breakers to say hey you're most likely not gonna get anything that great but you might and that's fun but joining breaks is for fun that's why i make sure that i'm dressing up and i'm doing the most to you know respect the fans respect their fandom they show up for me i wanna show up for them we have the sound bites we you know have wrestling cards are my first language t shirts and stickers that we give away wear that like i you sent me one after after it was awesome it's one of the like because i it's based on the stephanie vecare sort of catchphrase i thought that was so awesome you sent stickers too i think i have this actually i i have the sticker here so like i think it's like there you go like that was really cool i also have your stand your card stand too that you sent to the mama ones actually i think we use those for some packs on the floor in the shop where like people can like panini packs or whatever so we use that and i'm like oh it's perfect let's go out there so no and the one thing i love that you guys are starting with your team is it your your tagline is it every card tells a story every pull tells a story what is it your that you go by the story you're posting every pull tells a story make it yours yes okay perfect love that i mean again you're you're building a community you're building a relationship we do that with our shop but you do a phenomenal job with breaking the entertainment's there your team is knowledgeable you're putting people on breaking the things that they're knowledgeable at they're pronouncing the biggest thing is pronouncing names i mean like there's so many times of wrestling azuka no that's asuka there and there's ahsoka tano there's asuka you know yeah no at least you know it can get confusing when you're breaking wrestling to to wrestling and star wars i think are the it's a pro i i just feel like bundesliga is soccer i'm like oh first of all who watches this these those games are hard i'm not even gonna tip that one no but it again i i love that and again the passion's behind it it's great you could talk you know ripping star wars adam you're not big on this as much as i am but the the movie lines the taglines from the movies that stephanie or her team will say are execute order sixty you know it's just awesome to hear that and that shows you the passion that they have and there's nothing like any other i i break with other people i'm not saying everybody is like this but they are the best in my opinion i'm excited to have stephanie on don't know if you can hear it right now it's because i i i think with the wrestling card community but the community in general she is one of the most passionate out there she gets into character and she's knowledgeable and and she's priced very very very well thank you and so i think i think i'll echo everything that ryan says and without trying to make this sort of the the the praise stephanie show i think it's it's something that you know it's a struggle for most breakers right it's a struggle to to sort of operate with that like do you have you like and this is something that that i'm challenged with a lot because i've been creating card content for this is my twentieth year i think i talked about with ryan earlier so like the power that your voice has even if it's a small community like wrestling cards or sort of the the influence that you would have over sort of the people that that see you see your content see your streams like how how does that impact the way that you kind of do operating models within your own streams your your content on instagram everything like that do you feel like some like with great power comes great responsibility here like what it how do you look at the power of of your platform here as you sort of get into things like marvel things like disney and star wars and wrestling you've really become sort of like this hub for the the non sport while still having a major component of your business also in sports like how does that sort of power reflect with you overall i definitely you know i'm on like you said the kind words i'm honored and i'm honored to be seen like that it's something that i feel very strongly about just not to put it quite simply is serving the collector i wanna be the best service that we can possibly be and however way shape or form i can help any other business or breaker you know kind of anything that we're doing on our end how i can help i think it's just gonna help the overall community this is something that i love to do if i trust me if i wasn't doing this i'd be teaching but i'd be joining breaks every night and i'd be still taking my cards and i'd still be going to card shows all the time and going to card shops you know every now i hang out at my local card shop still once or once or twice a month when i have some time overall i care so much about the hobby and i think this business like many businesses for entrepreneurs is a reflection of me and who i am and mhmm how i wanna carry myself and how i wanna serve others you know i often tell myself before i you know have to make a difficult decision and when it is like putting up a break at pricing and things like that it's like i just wanna make sure that i'm giving everything i can possibly give first before asking for it back and that's just what makes me happy doing all this and makes me able to have more fun and i i hope that i can you know show that on stream more and as i continue to learn how to be more of like a entertainer on this part i get guess i i think that's maybe one of the hardest things i have i've had to kinda figure out is like this influencer role and how much of it do i want to kinda partake in being an influencer and being a figure myself is is i would say more of the difficult part for me versus just a business owner versus just an operator behind the scenes it's kind of been kinda like how do you do both kinda thing but yeah overall i guess my direct answer would just be definitely responsibility to to making breaking exactly what i think it should be and more awesome that's all i love it that's that's exactly everything i thought you'd say and you you're spot on so many ways and if you can't tell the passion right there i i don't know what to tell you people yeah and i think like influencers get a bad rap in this hobby that's what i mean i mean you you have your own card we all want our own card at one point you have your own tops trading card and i think like just you kinda understand like when when you're in that position you you're putting yourself out there were you always uncomfortable in front of the camera or is that something you sort of had to build up to over time i think being a teacher helped a lot you know the story i tell is during covid it was pretty abrupt that we had to start teaching online it was like within a week we were like hey you gotta teach online and i was like throwing up i had a baby at home first of all but i was like eating i was like actually these kids have to watch me on a screen i can't do this i think that was my first time was like just suck it up and do it you're there to be there for the kids you know they wanna see your face like you owe it to them to get give them some type of relief or some type of consistency during this time and sometimes honestly that's what fires me up to go on stream i go i'm live ridiculous amount i would say over the past two or three years i've been live three thousand hours plus wow oh man that's what drives me it's like being consistent and and showing up for people and knowing that if my smile is gonna you know help them feel a little bit more comfortable that day or welcome and being in our community is gonna help them feel more welcome that's what becomes my you know my reason to keep doing it because it gets tough it gets tough stuff doesn't fill sometimes that's no one's fault you know stuff we lose a ton of money on this product but we'll make money on this one it's just the the nature of what we do and i think right now in breaking environment we have a lot of that like oh breakers are always mad they just want you to bit stuff up and it's crazy to me i think i think you just it's diff it's difficult right it's difficult because different businesses operate in different ways but i try to stay true to that that first teacher in me that was super super nervous to be on camera and say hey this is out you're out here making people smile making people feel good that's what makes me feel amazing and i've loved wrestling since i was a kid i've wanted to be china i wanted to be in the too cool and do the worm with scottie too hottie i have this like love of performing in me that i think some part of my adulthood i kinda lost and as i i mean take it on the pageantry like the pageantry of your stream sort of echo what's going on on wwe tv so yeah i get it so do we already know who you do we know who you're gonna be next week i have i feel like a lot of us have that in in us so i think wrestling cards is a perfect way to show what breaking can be like can you imagine if more breakers were entertainers first i'll be the first person to tell you i'm not the the greatest entertainer i'm by no means like able to sing and dance and pretzel like these people do but i'm trying you know yes it's no it's it's great go ahead rob you're gonna oh no you're good no you're good no i love it no my question was gonna be is obviously next week we have a massive release finally a wwe release in wwe universe so stephanie already know which character she's gonna be next week we get a new one or we get an old one or we still we still have the board figuring that out you don't have tell us who it's gonna be but i'm just curious i think it's easy just to do stephanie mcair again so it's just it depend it depends depends she's got the horns they're sitting right right decided yeah the real the horns aren't cheap the real the real makeup's a little more difficult to do than the stephanie makeup for sure can you imagine what she has to go through every monday night to get dressed and and thursday night now too as the champions so just in the interest i know we're we're coming up on on sort of our time here but do you have any plans for wrestlemania like what what can we do you have any free previews for people as you get into wrestlemania season have you guys thought of what the what's gonna happen there it's so hard to plan around wrestlemania because a we don't know what product's gonna be out and b just planning kind of stuff with wrestlers and and making it out to vegas is an up in the air last minute kind of thing but i know no matter what i will have fun breaks and we'll give away thousands of dollars worth of stuff like always and have a lot of fun that i can guarantee but i'm excited well at least if they if they're in the saint louis area as we're sort of playing this on friday and saturday you're gonna be at ryan's store i'm kinda jealous i can't be there randy orton is a huge guy you guys excited for this like ryan must be getting a little anxious at this point i have to believe i i yeah a little bit obviously i'm still waiting to find out the time slot is gonna be here but i already said my kids will be the fanboy for me they can fanboy out for me but i'm excited to to have this opportunity yeah i well we don't need i mean we got plenty of those so we're good just know i'm excited about it but i'm super excited that stephanie's gonna make this happen i and she's gonna get in for the weekend and we got some fun stuff playing with her so we're excited about that i i gotta put you on the spot stephanie i got a question for you mhmm hands down what is your favorite wwe product that you personally like to rip of all time that i personally love to rip of all time yeah just you not not breaking just you love to rip yourself is it a cop out to say that it will be wwe royalty no i mean it's we're seeing i don't know what we're seeing so yeah that's no i mean that's just i was honestly and you guys don't know this too i thought i was actually gonna come on here and cry for some reason i'm such an emotional person i i cry every other monday night raw and i was i was breaking ufc i think i broke like three cases of ufc on release day and i was like i can't believe this is gonna look so good for wrestling i think that's gonna be better than flawless with the patches and the stuff that they're use yeah so they use game changer it's beautiful the regalia like patterns and the colors it's dramatic it's sexy it's you know as many autos as is per box it's gonna be the best product ever so i'm that's what i'm looking forward to and i definitely have to rip a case for myself for that one i'm saving up and and i don't have like a huge ria card yet in my collection i have a ton of like nxt autos and select autos and i have transcendent autos but this is the one where i'm i'm looking at guys like sam and i'm like we will fight for these this is what i've been waiting for royalty is gonna be insane no i i'm very excited we've talked about royalty quite a bit on here right so we're we're all pumped about it the event use is huge obviously the wrestlemania patches are gonna be absolute game changers for wrestling cards there's no question about that awesome and so i stephanie do you just wanna let people know just for the the sake of the audience that may not be familiar with you like they can find you on and now all the social media platforms and everything absolutely we are live on fanatics live seven days a week mama breaks that's the core of what we do we're trying to do combat breaks every monday you know gets difficult with with releases but definitely most mondays ripping combat sports on including wwe on fanatics live you can follow me on instagram to see what we're up to that's m a m a b r e a k s youtube mama breaks same same style and then whatnot we just started we'll probably start doing some w two b on there soon mama breaks and co and you want to at the very least follow us on youtube because we are gonna document the heck out of this weekend at ryan's we're gonna show you his first reactions and you're gonna see his all his interactions with randy and super four k h t because my videographer eddie is an absolute artist and you're gonna see ryan's gonna lose his shoes like i i swear to god ryan is gonna lose his and he says he's not gonna fanboy but he had like i don't know i don't if you've been to his old store but the old store had a giant picture of randy orton we still have it it's in there's only one picture out there if anybody is randy orton clean it up i still have the other ones in the back of the warehouse no the randy orton is up it was the only one that made it up so it's out there i've got randy orton out there i will text you making this happen we're super excited to have her and we're we're just we're gonna have a great time it's we get to share the passion we love and excited about randy orton it's about you know the cards the love showing her the kids' pc some of my pc i gotta get the star wars pc out as well there's a lot of things i gotta bring in just for something significant star wars pc i have a lot of
