Hey there. My name is Mattea, and this is agriculture in a minute with the Minnesota 4-H agriculture ambassadors. Today, we're exploring how farmers are stepping up as responsible stewards of the land, implementing ecofriendly practices that help protect the environment for future generations. Did you know that water can be reused up to four times on a dairy farm? Water plays a crucial role in many aspects of farm life, from keeping cows hydrated and ensuring the cleanliness of barns and parlors to cooling milk and irrigating crops.

Speaker 1:

Dairy farmers are leading the way in sustainability by finding ways to improve milk production while using fewer resources. Today, farmers are able to produce more milk with fewer animals and less water than ever before. This is achieved by creating a comfortable environment for the cows, providing them with clean water 20 fourseven, maintaining good airflow, offering balanced diets, and ensuring clean bedding. Plus, many farmers are using solar panels to power their operations, making the farm even more eco friendly. It's a perfect example of how innovation and sustainability go hand in hand in modern farming.
