Welcome to WORDTheatre Weekly: The Short Story Podcast where great authors and actors meet. I’m your host, Cedering Fox, WORDTheatre’s Founder & Artistic Director.
This week, we’ll be broadcasting a story by our fourth and final author featured in our May 19th Manhattan event, “Growing Pains.” Jess Row is a decorated author whom we found in the pages of the Pushcart Prize years ago!
We are thrilled to feature a story from his forthcoming collection, StoryKnife, in our May event. The book is set for release in August, so everyone in attendance will get a little sneak peek!
Today, we will feature a previous performance of his piece, “Sheep May Safely Graze,” performed by Chris Sarandon.
Before we get started, please note that WORDTheatre holds the copyright to these recordings and no portion of anything you hear on WORDTheatre Weekly, our short story podcast, may be reproduced without permission.
Now, here is Chris Sarandon reading “Sheep May Safely Graze” by Jess Row.
SARANDON PERFORMS THE PIECE.
You’ve just heard Chris Sarandon perform “Sheep May Safely Graze” written by Jess Row.
We hope to see you in New York on May 19th for “Growing Pains,” A Celebration of the Pushcart Prize’s newest anthology. Actor Thomas Sadoski will be reading Jess’s piece, while JK Simmons, Xander Berkeley, and one more actor TBA will also be performing. Tickets and information at wordtheatre.org/events for tickets and information. We hope to see you there!
