This podcast song was penned in light of the current crisis in Israel-Palestine as well as Russia-Ukraine, but also reflects upon the countless unnecessary wars and battles over centuries in the name of politics and religion. Human beings have advanced in warfare to the extent that they can now destroy entire cities or communities with the push of a button, as seen with the atomic bomb - a prime example of the destructive extent of humankind. Furthermore, warfare has become increasingly insensitive when it comes to harming, abducting and bombing children and women.
Where do we stand as the human race? Despite evolutionary changes and social advancement, humans in general are unable to restrain themselves and maintain peace.
Humanity needs to come towards peace regardless of the situation and reflect upon the wrongs committed under political or religious pretexts. The concept that is very difficult to entertain in any religious denomination is that a person from a different faith is just as special and has a role in God’s plan. Together we are whole, and as we come together hand in hand, the artificial borders created by us will disappear on their own. We will thrive as humans once more. We're all part of God’s spirit and one with God. The world belongs to all of us. It is time for us to revisit old teachings and forge a new path to let humanity shine. Once we label someone, we tend to automatically divide them. We divide each other based on our names as well as our faith. We fail to see that we are indeed all connected.

The problem with religion today. Since their advent, religions have undergone many changes and evolutions. While providing good spiritual guidance and moral frameworks, religions also face several challenges in the modern world. One such challenge is religious extremism and violence in the name of religion. Individuals and groups interpret religious teachings in ways that can justify violence and terrorism.

Another issue challenging religion is intolerance towards other faiths or non religious individuals leading to social exclusion and persecution. Additionally, some religious teachings may seem out of step with modern values and scientific discoveries. As a result, people have become less adherent to religious advice, especially among educated demographics.

Furthermore, religion has been exploited for political gain, often by leaders seeking to garner support and justify policies.

Also religious minorities face greater challenges integrating into broader, often secular societies facing discrimination and prejudice. There are also complex ethical and social issues like abortion, euthanasia, and reproductive rights that religious doctrines take rigid stances on, disallowing compromised solutions. Societal and cultural challenge like shifts in family structures and gender roles, as well as technological advancements pressure religious practices and beliefs hindering adaptation to modern life.
Speaker 1:Increased cultural exchange through globalization can also lead to blending of religious traditions which some view as threatening the purity and identity of their faith. These challenges require efforts from both followers and leaders. Understanding and dialogue to allow tolerance and gradual alignment of religious practices with contemporary values and scientific insights without compromising on the essence of spiritual belief systems. The path ahead lies in reconciling faith with the modern world.
