We've got some interesting stories to cover today. Let's start with some intriguing projections from the University of Minnesota Population Center. Demographers there suggest that today's young children might be the first generation since the early 70s to earn more than their parents. That's quite a shift. They base this on an expected undersupply of young workers by the year 2040, along with a projected surplus of housing. But they also mention that these young workers will still face tax burdens. They do highlight that immigration and artificial intelligence are unpredictable factors in this equation, though they don't quantify how these might impact potential wage gains. India. Wildlife sniffer dog squads are now operating across 22 states. These dogs help forest departments detect poaching and wildlife trafficking. In a recent case in central India, a trained Belgian Malinois tracked a scent from a poisoned pond to a village house. This led to the discovery of meat, bloodstains, animal hair, and snares, resulting in three suspects being taken in for questioning. Poaching and wildlife trafficking are significant ongoing issues in India. However, the number of cases prevented or arrests made due to these dog squads isn't specified. Finally, let's talk about NASA's PUNCH mission, which stands for Polarimeter to Unify the Corona and Heliosphere. Scientists used its continuous imagery to predict the near-Earth arrival of a solar eruption within 30 minutes. This was part of an initial proof-of-concept test, and the results were presented at the Committee on Space Research scientific meeting. They're also under review at the journal Space Weather.
