[SPEAKER_02]: Let's see.

[SPEAKER_02]: Hands up, raising them high.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's me.

[SPEAKER_02]: They look good.

[SPEAKER_02]: We got it.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a show where I teach you about being a safety consultant.

[SPEAKER_02]: We talk about ocean compliance.

[SPEAKER_02]: Sometimes we talk about other things such as how to start your business.

[SPEAKER_02]: And I talk about this in a while, so that's what I'm going to do now.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm actually going to start a series and I'm going to help you guys out with them at a stretch of business.

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of you are now getting into safety consulting or at least trying to look it up.

[SPEAKER_02]: I just did a search to see how Google is trending how to start, how to become a consultant

[SPEAKER_02]: And right now, well, it's 15 million and when they first started looking at doing this consulting and writing my book which was five this years of those six years

[SPEAKER_02]: Um, this search was 1.6 million and then saved the consultant search had become a safety consultant doing a bleed in search for that on Google back in the day was 0.15.

[SPEAKER_02]: million, so 150,000 people are looking for that.

[SPEAKER_02]: Now it's up to five million people are to searching that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that means a lot of us now are trying to get into the business.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, I decided, why not?

[SPEAKER_02]: I got the book, I literally wrote the book about it,

[SPEAKER_02]: So let's go ahead and see how I could do if I can help you guys out.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'll bet my own it's my goal So I'm gonna do four part series and kind of break down the book for you and I'm gonna give you guys a copy of it too So let me start out with that

[SPEAKER_02]: If you are interested in getting a copy of my seven steps to starting a profitable safety consulting business, then you want to go to www.sheldonprimus.com forward slash e-book.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Sheldonprimus.com forward slash e-book right now.

[SPEAKER_02]: I got a work on that, basically you put it in your cart and then you get it for free, you download it from the cart for my website.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I'll just check that out.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm really interested in getting you guys to check that out and then start doing that.

[SPEAKER_02]: It'll be awesome.

[SPEAKER_02]: And let's see.

[SPEAKER_02]: So, first things first, you need your foundation, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: So part one is the foundation, name your business, branding your business, get your domain set up.

[SPEAKER_02]: That is the first thing we're gonna do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Don't excuse them, like, not to sure why that happened, but oh well, so anyway.

[SPEAKER_02]: Pick your name and make sure your name resonates with people.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I've told people before, you know, you want to choose a name that is going to signify your business somehow.

[SPEAKER_02]: If I would indeed this again, I probably would have just used OSHA compliance help as my business name.

[SPEAKER_02]: Though I took that on later on as a DBA, doing business as, however,

[SPEAKER_02]: When I first started, I was utility compliance ink.

[SPEAKER_02]: That was the name of my organization, the name of my business, utility compliance ink.

[SPEAKER_02]: The reason why is I was focusing on utilities and I wanted to make them compliant.

[SPEAKER_02]: So there you go.

[SPEAKER_02]: I chose a name that would have pretty much helped my clients understand who I am, what am I trying to do.

[SPEAKER_02]: so that's what you want to do pick a name that is powerful enough that people could just truly see you.

[SPEAKER_02]: that you are going to help them.

[SPEAKER_02]: Your service helps them.

[SPEAKER_02]: I have a nonprofit out there called National Environmental and Occupational Safety Training Inc.

[SPEAKER_02]: Niosdi.

[SPEAKER_02]: Guess what I do with that one?

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot easier to read and figure out that it's environmental and occupational safety training.

[SPEAKER_02]: So at that point,

[SPEAKER_02]: The name is helping people, you're going to break down a little bit of the barriers that it takes to get started in the business.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're trying to make yourself more remarkable.

[SPEAKER_02]: If you can, you want to remove some barriers.

[SPEAKER_02]: So that's one of those things that will remove the barriers as a name.

[SPEAKER_02]: If I were to choose,

[SPEAKER_02]: and the shelving prime is and all that stuff.

[SPEAKER_02]: This a lot to go with using your own name.

[SPEAKER_02]: acronyms, because after a while you want to, you may want to show the short in your name to some sort of three letter acronym or something similar, that's one of the reasons I chose Neosti, National Environmental and Occupational Safety Training Inc.

[SPEAKER_02]: It's a lot of

[SPEAKER_02]: A lot of businesses that are nonprofits have that little ring to it if you would.

[SPEAKER_02]: And so I actually picked the Nakridum first and then chose to name.

[SPEAKER_02]: Shh, don't tell anybody.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right.

[SPEAKER_02]: So.

[SPEAKER_02]: This is what you're going to do.

[SPEAKER_02]: Pick a powerful business name.

[SPEAKER_02]: You want to define your client avatar.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's number two in this first part.

[SPEAKER_02]: And if you're not familiar with an avatar, think of a gaming.

[SPEAKER_02]: Whatever you start a new game, they have you build your character.

[SPEAKER_02]: Instead of building your character in business, what you're building is what you're ideal

[SPEAKER_02]: Marketplace person would look like.

[SPEAKER_02]: Who you sell it to?

[SPEAKER_02]: What do they look like?

[SPEAKER_02]: How old are they?

[SPEAKER_02]: Where do they hang out?

[SPEAKER_02]: LinkedIn, Facebook, what's their job title?

[SPEAKER_02]: What's their age level?

[SPEAKER_02]: How old are they?

[SPEAKER_02]: that's your avatar.

[SPEAKER_02]: So as you try to develop what your avatar looks like, let's say your business is going to deal with, let's say you are the safety consultant that's going to deal with oil and gas services.

[SPEAKER_02]: So Prime is oil and gas safety service.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's not bad.

[SPEAKER_02]: I might have to work on it now, okay.

[SPEAKER_02]: No more projects, no doubt with projects until I finish the whole big one I've been working on.

[SPEAKER_02]: So.

[SPEAKER_02]: now everybody with no oil and gas services and the client avatar for me is going to be truly the decision maker who's going to be a professional.

[SPEAKER_02]: I could look up LinkedIn and look for some oil and gas service areas.

[SPEAKER_02]: I get to see if it's mostly male, mostly female.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yes, you're going to need to know demographics such as white, black, Hispanic, and that's for marketing purposes

[SPEAKER_02]: your Facebook marketing, your LinkedIn marketing, they ask for information like that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So yeah, you're gonna need that too.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're gonna want to figure out what's the highest level of education this person has, and again, the decision maker, and that's what you're gonna put into your marketing.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so, first, powerful business name, second, you're getting the business avatar and now you've got to secure your online presence.

[SPEAKER_02]: get that domain name.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're looking for dot com.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're not looking for anything hyphenated.

[SPEAKER_02]: There are some top-level domains out there that might be a specialty domain for you.

[SPEAKER_02]: The.world.go or or something like that, right?

[SPEAKER_02]: You can't have picked those wisely, but honestly dot com is still king.

[SPEAKER_02]: So go ahead and look for your name dot com.

[SPEAKER_02]: Company name.

[SPEAKER_02]: Yeah, it doesn't hurt to get your own personal name as well.

[SPEAKER_02]: but your company named.com.

[SPEAKER_02]: That's what you're looking for.

[SPEAKER_02]: Again, you don't want to knife it's all that because when you're going to do a commercial, you're going to lose people on whatever you do, a Facebook or a video commercial and a YouTube channel, whatever.

[SPEAKER_02]: So definitely secure that domain name and additionally get your Gmail with your name.

[SPEAKER_02]: So for me, I've got my company, I've got my Gmail with my company name, so now I can use the Gmail product services such as YouTube.

[SPEAKER_02]: And if you haven't checked out my youtube.com forward slash at safety consultant, that's because I've got the safety consultant US Gmail.

[SPEAKER_02]: So I could use that.

[SPEAKER_02]: So at this point,

[SPEAKER_02]: Honestly, you need a Gmail, but you always use that as your business ID, but you need it just so that you can have like two channels and stuff like that that's connected to Google.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so, foundation, your naming your business, you're defining your client avatar, and then you want to start securing your online presence, which is going to get you that domain name and your Gmail.

[SPEAKER_02]: So for now, what you're going to do is you're going to go to safety consultant.

[SPEAKER_02]: Oh, no, you're not.

[SPEAKER_02]: You're going to go to

[SPEAKER_02]: Sheldonprimus.com for slash ebook and then when you get there, scan the QR code and then we'll get to your ebook, how's that?

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so Sheldonprimus.com for slash ebook and I just thought about that scanning your QR code.

[SPEAKER_02]: So scan your QR code and then we'll get to your ebook that way.

[SPEAKER_02]: All right, so

[SPEAKER_02]: get a lot to do.

[SPEAKER_02]: You guys could do it.

[SPEAKER_02]: I'm pulling for you.

[SPEAKER_02]: Go get it.

[SPEAKER_00]: That's a wrap for today's safety show.

[SPEAKER_00]: Remember, safety isn't just about hard hats and caution signs.

[SPEAKER_00]: It's about business smarts too.

[SPEAKER_00]: Thanks for joining us on the safety consultant show with Sheldon primus.
