Joey Rosen:

What we had was exactly what we've envisioned and I've envisioned for the few meeting in person, which is different people coming together under a common set of rules to grow together. Yeah. You know? And that was that was beautiful. So I would change nothing about that.

Drew Beech:

Welcome to the Fuel Hunt Show. Alright, guys. I'm Drew, cofounder of Fuel Hunt, and I'm sitting here with my cousin and cofounder, Joey, and our email marketing ninja strategist, we'll go with. Today, we have a very special episode. We're gonna be switching it up.

Drew Beech:

I will be doing the interviewing of these 2 ninjas and hardworking members of the few because this weekend, we did, they did our 1st ever annual Viewfest. We'll we'll call it that. Right? We can call it the annual Viewfest. Mhmm.

Drew Beech:

So if you guys could, please, Joey, I'll I'll allude to you first.

Joey Rosen:

Mhmm.

Drew Beech:

Explain to the community Yeah. What is the FEW Fest, and where did the idea for it come from?

Joey Rosen:

Yep. So, borrowing from Jesse's book, right, he said that when he hear when he heard the name the FEW Fest, they thought it was going to be much more fun than it actually was because there's some suffering involved. But so, in all seriousness, a big goal for us this year is to bring the few together in person. We've done a great job of bringing the few together online on the interwebs, the internets, social media, but a big goal this year is to bring the few together in person to really maximize and magnify our impact on society. Right?

Joey Rosen:

So the Few Fest was the first in person event of many and it was held here in Philly, began at HQ. Do you want me to go through the the No. Exactly what it was?

Drew Beech:

Let's stop there. Let's first start with where the idea came from.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. So, obviously, we've got the goal this year of getting everybody together in person, but, before that, we did a thing called Suckfest. Right?

Drew Beech:

Mhmm.

Joey Rosen:

And, we had changed the name because, you know, you would just Google it, you know, Google Suckfest, and it wasn't really what it wasn't the vibe. It wasn't the vibe. It was not

Drew Beech:

what just for all the

Joey Rosen:

Just to be everybody be clear.

Drew Beech:

Just so we're all on the same page Right. That nothing like that went on. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Exactly. Just to be clear. Yep. So we did Suckfest, I guess, 2 or 3 years ago, and boy did it suck. It was 4,000 reps

Drew Beech:

Mhmm.

Joey Rosen:

In the gym. Mhmm. And, walking or running, over a marathon. Mhmm. So I think we ended up around almost 30 miles.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. It's completed in one day. And it's a Musogi. So the theory behind that is you're going to do something super hard at the end of the year in December. That's going to make all the rest of the days of the following year that much easier.

Drew Beech:

Mhmm.

Joey Rosen:

So the Few Fest is modeled after that. It's a Misogi, but we'll get in Jesse and I will get into it a little later. We're gonna do it more often because why not?

Jesse:

I hope so. Why not? I hope so.

Drew Beech:

I feel like Jesse came from all the way from Texas because he's, like, he's coming to a party. I was like,

Joey Rosen:

what's going on? We were, like, 3 miles in. He was like, no. Actually, no. We we were further than that.

Joey Rosen:

We're probably double digits in, maybe 10 miles in. He was like, the few fest sounds much more fun Yep. In theory in theory.

Drew Beech:

And it's funny that you say so and this is why I'm interviewing you guys for because I personally you say that, it's supposed to make the rest of the the rest of the year that much easier, but the following maybe, like, weaker. So after the few fast, I I'm on my own gut health journey. So that last suck fast broke my stomach and my gut and caused me all sorts of problems. So I'm heal I mean, I'm in my healing journey. I'm in my healing era.

Drew Beech:

So I decided to sit this few fast out. So we while we're switching

Joey Rosen:

now? You were here?

Drew Beech:

Oh, yeah. I was I was here in spirit. I was with you on this in spirit on the rock. I was doing all the social media work on the back end. I can show you guys Yep.

Drew Beech:

We're getting blessed with the community and, kept the community up the community up to date with where you guys were on the For For sure. The rock and the journey.

Jesse:

Most importantly. Yes. Yes. We're updating.

Drew Beech:

So Can you tell us

Joey Rosen:

we do have a 4th guest that we just he's he's gonna be pissed.

Drew Beech:

He is

Joey Rosen:

gonna be so pissed he didn't get a proper introduction.

Drew Beech:

So could you tell us what the few fest was in relation to self fest?

Joey Rosen:

Sure. Sure.

Drew Beech:

And also tell us where Ernest came from.

Joey Rosen:

Okay. So, how about I take the tactical, what it is? And then how about you take the Ernest story? Because you and I were together when we just made this decision Yeah. For Ernest.

Joey Rosen:

Okay. Ernest is the eagle.

Drew Beech:

Yes.

Joey Rosen:

He didn't get a proper introduction. We're gonna hear about

Jesse:

it after n, Ernest.

Joey Rosen:

About it after the show.

Drew Beech:

Oh, okay. I didn't I didn't get that. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Gonna hear about it after the show. So the few fast, 500 reps at, few on HQ here in our gym.

Joey Rosen:

Right? Any movement you want, any body parts, whatever, you just have to do 500 reps. That is followed by a rock. Right? You choose your weight.

Joey Rosen:

So we had ruck weights from £20 to £45 in our rocks. After the rock, which is about, 16 miles, it's from here, fuel 1 HQ in Frankfort, section of Philadelphia, to the Liberty Bell in Old City Philadelphia. We chose the Liberty Bell, obviously. You know, the community and the company, if you will hunt the company, were founded on 3 pillars, freedom, hard work, and service to others. So we chose Independence Mall, as the destination, intentionally.

Joey Rosen:

Once we rock from the Liberty Bell back to HQ, 500 more reps here. Right?

Drew Beech:

So a day. It's a day for you.

Joey Rosen:

It's a day. What I will say is, and Jesse will attest to this, I am I love some good suffering, and it just so happens that we had a small strong crew for the few fest, the first one.

Drew Beech:

Mhmm.

Joey Rosen:

Just so happens they did too. So I was about 50 reps into my 500 in the beginning, and I'm like, what if we brought the tank? Mhmm. Right? What if we brought the tank, which is a sled?

Joey Rosen:

It's a 4 wheel sled that Bedros, gave to us when we moved into HQ as a gift. What if we brought that with us and we pushed the sled along the rock too? Like, so we're thinking of, like, all these creative ideas to just make it harder, like, right out of the gate. Like, it wasn't hard enough. Right?

Joey Rosen:

So Trevor, one of the few that was here and joined us for FEW Fest, he said, hey, I have a sandbag, an empty sandbag in my trunk. I said, fuck. Yeah. Let's go. Fucking bucket's not here yet, so I can still curse.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

I said, let's go. So we pass at Lowe's on the way, to the Liberty Bell. So I said, bring the empty sandbag. A mile in, we'll stop at Lowe's. We'll fill it up £45, and then we'll each alternate.

Joey Rosen:

You know, every mile, we'll carry the bag in addition to our rock weight just to make it, you know, that much harder. So

Jesse:

Can I just really quickly I didn't know that that extra £40 was happening?

Drew Beech:

Like, I

Jesse:

thought that was just gonna be for him.

Drew Beech:

I thought he was

Jesse:

just a psycho. And then we get to Lowe's and that's, you know, to get the the rocks to put into the bag, £40 worth. And then out of the corner of the of your eye, and I think my eye too, we we catch the eagle. Yeah. And we're like, oh, we definitely need to bring.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Drew Beech:

He's probably got a lot. A £20 eagle would you say? Like, I don't think he's

Joey Rosen:

He's sturdy.

Jesse:

He's sturdy is what matters.

Drew Beech:

He's I

Joey Rosen:

mean, he's he's a good Yeah. Yeah. He's a good you mean pound how heavy

Drew Beech:

is he? Yeah. 20 pounds.

Joey Rosen:

He's probably 15, £20.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. He's probably 15, £20. I mean, yeah, he carries it. He's very, muscular. I mean, that's what it

Jesse:

is. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

It's a

Jesse:

real eagle,

Drew Beech:

by the way. So

Joey Rosen:

we yeah. We'll get

Drew Beech:

we'll we'll

Joey Rosen:

get into that. We'll get into that. So we made we made the group decision to grab him. We had to. There's like, no.

Joey Rosen:

We saw him, and we're like, look. We're taking you. Yeah. Yeah. You're coming with us.

Jesse:

He's literally flying with us.

Drew Beech:

So you mentioned Trevor. Let's talk. So for those who don't know, the few the first annual Few Fest was only open to our Fuel Hunt Rise members. Our that is our personal private pay community where we you get gear and growth benefits. We have speakers coming in multiple times a month.

Drew Beech:

We have, Joey and I do monthly coaching calls for all the members. A lot of interaction with the the few and fellow hard workers and people cut from the same cloth are all in there giving advice on fitness, nutrition, martial arts, entrepreneurship.

Joey Rosen:

Mindset, everything.

Drew Beech:

The energy is just electric.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Drew Beech:

So we decided to make this first one small and test it with only members of the Verizon community. So could you tell the community who was there

Joey Rosen:

Sure.

Drew Beech:

And, what you guys did together.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. So like I mentioned, we had a a small strong group for the first one. We had about 10, Eagles sign up, for various reasons, all acceptable. The group was 5 people for the few fest. Right?

Joey Rosen:

Me included. So a small mighty group. Yeah. We had obviously Jesse in from Texas. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Okay. And as you mentioned, Jesse's part of the HQ team, not at HQ on a daily basis, but part of the HQ team. Right? Email and SMS strategy. He flew in from Texas.

Joey Rosen:

We had Danny from Jersey. We had Richie from Jersey, and we had Trevor from New York. So, distances were covered Yeah. To get here. You know what I mean?

Joey Rosen:

To, to participate in the few fest. So basically, what you got is, like I said, Jesse, email an SMS strategist. Right? A teacher, a chemist, a personal trainer, and a complete psychopath in me. No.

Joey Rosen:

An entrepreneur in me. Right? So, what do you get when you mix all of those people together with a 1,000 reps in a 16 mile rock? Like, a damn good time. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

It was amazing. It was absolutely amazing.

Drew Beech:

I wanna hear from both of you guys. What were some of the highlights, the ups, and the down? Were there any were there any down parts where you're like, fuck this. Like, I'm not like No.

Jesse:

That never crossed our minds.

Joey Rosen:

Not not

Jesse:

a single time.

Drew Beech:

So, Jesse, here's first. What what was the what was the highlight of the day for you?

Jesse:

Dude, I mean, the highlight the highlight was also kind of the worst part, which was like the last couple miles, but I will say coming into it again, I didn't really know what to expect. I knew it was going to be painful to some degree, And, like, by the way, this is my birthday gift to myself. I flew out here for my birthday to, like, obviously, hang out with y'all, but for the few fest.

Drew Beech:

To suffer.

Jesse:

To suffer. Yeah. You

Drew Beech:

gave yourself the gift of suffering. Do you know what? I respect that.

Jesse:

One of the most priceless gifts. Yeah. Yeah. Absolutely. And, and I will say early on, it's like we're we're all getting to know each other, having a good time on the rock, And, you know, we had a couple instances even early on that were that were just kinda funny, that we can get into a little bit later, like, the prize dispensary that we passed and like just some of the characters that we met on the rock.

Jesse:

Obviously, carrying around the eagle was kind of interesting. So Ernest brought a lot of attention. Definitely, that was one of the highest, like, once we got into the main part of the city, just so many people, like, wondering, what are you doing? You're sober doing this all. Like, what?

Joey Rosen:

It's a big thing we got.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah.

Jesse:

So good. But definitely towards the end, like, when when every part of, like, waist down, my body's telling me to stop Yeah. Walking. This is painful. Shin splints, blisters, all of that.

Jesse:

And it's like, no. We're all we're all gonna do this together, and we're gonna not only finish and bang out the last 500 reps. We're gonna all celebrate and eat some great food afterwards.

Drew Beech:

And Joey took you guys to the spot.

Joey Rosen:

Brisket Boys.

Drew Beech:

Brisket Boys.

Joey Rosen:

Brisket Boys. Yeah. Some, Sweet Lucy's. Yeah. Sweet Lucy's.

Jesse:

Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Go ahead.

Joey Rosen:

It was, it was harder than I thought, only because of the introduction of that sandbag. That really so

Jesse:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Trevor, shout out to Trevor. OG number 1.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Great human. Lives by the rules of the few. Just a great dude overall, but he blessed us with so many gifts. He blessed us with the sandbag. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

He blessed us with Ernest's name. Yeah. Right? So we secured the eagle. Yep.

Joey Rosen:

And we were throwing around names, Ezekiel, all sorts of stuff. He was like, he's carrying the sandbag first two miles like a savage.

Drew Beech:

Yep.

Joey Rosen:

Not not speaking or anything. We're going back and forth on this Eagle name, going down Ironman, go Ave. He's like, Ernest. And boom. There it is.

Drew Beech:

I think I can one up that name though.

Joey Rosen:

Oh, no.

Drew Beech:

Earn its rather than Ernest.

Jesse:

Earnits. Earnit? Earnest?

Joey Rosen:

Is that his name?

Drew Beech:

Earnit. Earnits. Earnits. Earnits.

Joey Rosen:

Earnits. It's like maybe that can be his nickname. Yeah. Because it's

Drew Beech:

like your nickname. Actually earn it in the name.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. I got you. I got you.

Jesse:

I like it. But

Joey Rosen:

We did change his spelling. Jesse made sure it was let's add an a.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. So You know

Joey Rosen:

what I mean? Let's add an a. But, yeah, it was definitely harder than I thought just because the addition of the sandbag. It wasn't brutal like Suckfest. Suckfest was brutal.

Drew Beech:

I was gonna say

Joey Rosen:

in my life. There was a point

Drew Beech:

I was I was wondering I was asking the question because I was wondering. There was a point in time in Suckfest, the the oh, the first one Mhmm. Where I was like, this is fucking terrible. And I this is probably a bad idea.

Joey Rosen:

Bro, it was, like the original Suck Fest. It was December. It was below freezing in Philly. I was in a t shirt. No shoe no, no shoes.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. You know

Joey Rosen:

what I mean? And shorts, no shoes. That's my

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Weirdness. I made these guys, yo, before we left here. Oh, no. We were on the rock. Maybe, like, a mile or

Jesse:

2. Started. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

I was like, yo, guys. I was like, you's got you just gotta make a promise to me. Don't let me take my shoes off. They were like, what, dude? I was like, look.

Joey Rosen:

Half of Suck Fest, I did barefoot because I, like, lost my marbles.

Drew Beech:

I do wanna preface. It wasn't completely barefoot. It was with their little weird toe shoes.

Joey Rosen:

No. I took this off. You're barefoot? On your street. I was barefoot on your street.

Joey Rosen:

That. Yeah. Well, that's because I was out there for 4 hours longer than everybody else doing it.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Joey had an Uber issue.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. So I got there, like, 445 instead of, like, you know, 3:30 or whatever. But, anyway,

Drew Beech:

it wasn't lot of Ubers going around at at 3:30, I see.

Jesse:

Issue. Right.

Joey Rosen:

So it wasn't as, grueling. However, the addition of the sandbag, like I said, definitely made it it level up the suffering, which again, Trevor, thank you, brother, for blessing us with that, because we alternated, you know, and, like, we did it in, Vivo, so we're in barefoot shoes. You know, I had in my pack probably with my, weight and my supplies, you know, like water, snacks, £40. And then the addition of the £45 sandbag, you know, that's £85 for a mile, on and off. So it was the last 4 miles.

Joey Rosen:

I had, some cramping that made it a little a little shitty. And then when we got back here, 500 reps staring down the barrel, 500 reps was not fun. Yeah. Like, the 500 reps in the beginning was easy. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

The longest did 25100.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. I

Joey Rosen:

started Yeah.

Jesse:

He was doing the wrong math.

Joey Rosen:

I messed the math up. I was at 25100. Everybody's finishing, and I'm like, wait a second. There's not what the and I'm looking at my sheet, and I'm counting. I'm like, oh my god.

Joey Rosen:

If I would've continued on this route, I would've did 25100. So, the 500 in the beginning, fine. 500 at the end, though, spicy.

Jesse:

I mean, extra spicy because it was, difficult to sit down. The hips were just

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Torch. Hips don't lie. That was down

Drew Beech:

the track. That was what what went in the original song fest too. And I I feel like what might have been better about the original song fest is you were just chipping away the whole time. Whereas you guys were doing this whole rock, and then you come back to more work, which is kinda Exactly.

Jesse:

And and, like, you know, the I grew up in an area in LA. There's a lots of hills and all this stuff. This was relatively flat. So I'm thinking that on the way there, like, it's not gonna be that bad, but the accumulation factor

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Jesse:

Of that extra rock, the

Joey Rosen:

extra 40.

Drew Beech:

Whatever it was, 60 miles or miles. It's it's gonna be no matter how.

Jesse:

Longest rock I've ever done before this was maybe 3 miles, 5 miles, like, weighted. Like, with the It does show

Drew Beech:

you you also do just commit to the fact that it's it's not really a health thing at this point. It might be negatively affecting your health at this point.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. You're putting yourself in a

Drew Beech:

position.

Jesse:

Maybe bodily, but mind, I feel like Agreed. Way too strong. Yeah. And also the fact that we had the community even though it was just us 5, like, that,

Joey Rosen:

like

Jesse:

I don't know if I would have put myself through this on my own, unfortunately. No. But I definitely know that I wanna bring this back to Texas and

Drew Beech:

light up. Does a Suck Fest or something to that level, like a Goggins that does something like that alone is another level of of crazy.

Joey Rosen:

Well, when I if, you know, a few of a few mem RISE members, you know, some things came up. They couldn't make it. Literally, these are people traveling. So Daryl and Henrick did it virtually. Yes.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Right? So, Virginia area Yeah. And then, also Finland.

Drew Beech:

Henrik's in Finland.

Joey Rosen:

So he did Finland, which

Drew Beech:

is nuts. The snow and also, like Yes. Crazy almonds.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Like, he had to shovel his, like, porch area where he does his reps for his program.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

He had to, like, shovel that before he started and then trudger in the in the snow. So, yeah, it was it got a little spicy. So what we agreed on, was and, you know, I just, I casted your vote. I hope you don't mind. What we'll do is we'll do this we'll do a few fest quarterly.

Joey Rosen:

Right? So the next one, maybe we'll do in, like, May.

Drew Beech:

Yep.

Joey Rosen:

Right? Then we'll do one in late summer. Then we'll do, a full blown Misogi in December, which will kinda be like the summation of the 3 Few Fests, so it'll be way harder. So maybe that one next come next December

Drew Beech:

Mhmm. Will

Joey Rosen:

be more like the original Suckfest where it's a full marathon or whatever.

Drew Beech:

Oh, you think we're doing that one in Philly as well in

Joey Rosen:

Well, this is the thing. Like, you know, we've got this goal this year of getting the few together. We've sent the emails, right, about captains. We've had over 200 members of the few raise their hands to be captains in their city, counties, or states. So, sure, the few is gonna be getting together to have coffee.

Joey Rosen:

The few is gonna be getting together for, you know, a traditional, normal workout in the gym. Yeah. Right? But the

Drew Beech:

few some recovery, maybe a plunge or not.

Joey Rosen:

Maybe a plunge. Right? The few will also be getting together for, it seems now, the few fest. I mean, we've got a hard commit from Jesse to get one going in Austin.

Drew Beech:

Okay. Okay.

Joey Rosen:

You know?

Drew Beech:

Okay.

Joey Rosen:

So, that'll be that'd be fun. So, yes, we will have one here, but now we'll have them in other parts of the US as well and maybe the world.

Jesse:

And, also, I think we we discussed we need to get eagles like Ernest.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Jesse:

Wherever we go.

Drew Beech:

We gotta find a US based manufacturer. That's right. If you're listening a 100%. If you create, figurines or Figures. Statues.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. I don't want any smoke from this guy.

Drew Beech:

You told me it was all, man. Please reach out to us. Yes. We're at buglehunt.com.

Joey Rosen:

So we have some ideas. Danny's on the job. There's a guy in Medford, New Jersey Okay. That, carves creatures, animals

Drew Beech:

Okay.

Joey Rosen:

Out of wood. Uh-huh. So what we wanna do is get a log made. So maybe, like, it's long enough that 3 people have to carry it once with a this screen our new screaming eagle

Drew Beech:

on the front

Joey Rosen:

of it.

Drew Beech:

That's

Joey Rosen:

Then what we do after every few fest,

Drew Beech:

we get

Joey Rosen:

one of those little wood burning pens like the ones I had when I was a kid to do the thing.

Drew Beech:

Yep.

Joey Rosen:

And we all burn our names into it.

Drew Beech:

That's it.

Joey Rosen:

And that's the log we carry. Yep. Trust my

Jesse:

work dot com.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. On the log. There you go. Ernest, he he will have a place

Drew Beech:

in

Joey Rosen:

the in the coming few fast

Drew Beech:

foot. Here. He has a place.

Joey Rosen:

Oh, yeah. He he always has a place. I mean, look. I'm not gonna be the one to tell him he doesn't have a place. I mean, you guys can do that, but I if you're looking at if you're looking at dude's eyes, Ed, man.

Jesse:

It was so funny. Like, at the different angles, you're like, yo, he is it look feels like he's looking at me.

Drew Beech:

So I'm

Jesse:

like, what?

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Well, starting to bring them for a landing here. Is there anything that stood out to you in the day or anything that you would change about your preparation or what you did during it?

Joey Rosen:

One one thing that I'll mention is, you know, even though we had a small strong group a small group, we had we had a couple decades represented. We had

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Twenties, thirties, and forties. Right? We had all different types of professions. What we had was exactly what we've envisioned and I've envisioned for the few meeting in person, which is different people coming together under a common set of rules to grow together.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

You know, and that was that was beautiful. So I would change nothing about that. Would I change my nutrition during during the few fast? Yes. A couple of fuel hunt rise members got me hooked on these gummies, And I just can't I can't get off these gummies.

Drew Beech:

Shout out to Avery.

Joey Rosen:

I I can't I can't get off the gummies, you know, bags over there. We had some guests at, HQ today. They had their hand in the bag. I felt like, good. It's not just me.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

You know, the gummies. So I would've changed my nutrition a little bit.

Drew Beech:

I will say if I could go back to the OG Suck Fest, I would've not done it fasted. So I did, like, 14 hour just no food. Just water. Yeah. Just water.

Drew Beech:

Psycho.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Savage. Yeah. So that's definitely one of the things. I think that the I took a little survey when we were at dinner about, like, level of difficulty for everybody, and everybody was at around, like, a 7, like, around there out of 10.

Joey Rosen:

10 being the most difficult one being easy. And I feel like, since we're doing these quarterly and they're gonna build up to a Masogi, that is just really gonna be utter suffering at the end of the year. A round of 7 is a good rating for just quality.

Jesse:

1 notch each time?

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Jesse:

8, 9, 10?

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Exactly. Exactly. One one other thing I'll mention that, was was really great was the love that we got from Philly on the rock. Philly Philly can be a hostile place, man.

Joey Rosen:

You know what I mean? And especially some of the neighborhoods we're going through.

Drew Beech:

And we were a little bit concerned about that. Like, we're not gonna

Joey Rosen:

do it during the daylight. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. We're not gonna yeah. You wanna make sure, like yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Yeah. We wanna do it during the daylight and, you know, just make sure that everybody was safe and had an enjoyable suffering.

Jesse:

Safe in their suffering.

Drew Beech:

Safe in their suffering. Speaking of, I wanted to mention Jesse giving himself the gift of suffering for his birthday. He sent me last night where he's staying in the city.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Did you approve that Airbnb?

Joey Rosen:

We looked at that.

Jesse:

I did tell him until after. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Hey, look. We looked at it,

Joey Rosen:

and I told you. I was like, look. This Sunoco, don't go to that Sunoco. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

So he

Joey Rosen:

I said the ice cream shop across from the Sunoco, you're gonna wanna go there. Don't go there.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. Not only did he come for suffering, but he made it extra.

Joey Rosen:

I mean, the joint's really nice. Oh, yeah. The place itself is very nice.

Drew Beech:

Nice, though. He's a it's a mansion.

Joey Rosen:

He's close. He's, he's it's 5 minute drive. He's a 5 minute drive for me, you know, where I live. So, he just hits the bath phone and then I can come.

Drew Beech:

That's the funny thing about Philadelphia is you could be in a great neighborhood on one block and then the next block over is

Joey Rosen:

City of neighborhoods, man. City city of neighborhoods, city of character. I mean, you know, look, surprises every quarter.

Jesse:

I will say one thing that I will change early on, the first 500 reps. I forgot for whatever reason we were rucking, like, for real rocking. I actually hadn't decided if I was gonna, like, for real buck. I think I told you, like, I had, like, this chest injury. I'm like, I don't know, like, a ruck on me.

Jesse:

Like, it

Drew Beech:

might hurt. Easy.

Jesse:

It might suck. So I started doing lunges and squats as part of my 500 reps, And very quickly

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Jesse:

I adjusted.

Drew Beech:

I thought it was surprising that Joey did was doing dead lifts. Like, pretty not heavy, but, like, 185 it was. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

I was in 185, and I just did a couple sets. But that

Drew Beech:

that gets all the wack to gas.

Joey Rosen:

I know. And that's where I just I would I'll be honest, man. I was on a low and we're gonna talk about the high in a little bit. Yeah. Sorry to to extend your we're I feel like we're taking back off again, but

Drew Beech:

well,

Joey Rosen:

coming from You

Drew Beech:

did already allude to what what's coming next. So I'm trying to think about how we're gonna wrap this

Joey Rosen:

up. We're just gonna we're gonna let him do it. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

So, we'll we'll talk about high. I was on a high in the beginning, man. It felt like the energy, us meeting in person was amazing. Right? And then the energy of we have guests come for power hour all the time, but the energy for the few showing up at HQ to do something, like, hard voluntarily on a Saturday when they could be doing anything else, together.

Joey Rosen:

It just put me on a high, man.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

So at some point, I lost count of my reps, and I started doing dead lifts. I'm like, 185. So don't let's just do a bunch of dead lifts. Yeah. So, yeah, I was I was on a high, man.

Joey Rosen:

So Okay.

Drew Beech:

Now what are we talking about this high that you speak of?

Joey Rosen:

What are you guys So we'll we'll bring we'll bring it bring it right back to you.

Drew Beech:

Doobie's on the on the wall.

Joey Rosen:

Almost. So we'll bring it back to we got a lot of love from local Philadelphians. Philadelphia can be a hostile place, but the the brotherly love was out in full effect in Philadelphia on Saturday.

Drew Beech:

I'm not

Joey Rosen:

sure when this is gonna air, but we're fresh off the few fest, so, you know, just to mention that. So 2 miles into it, about 2 miles into it, we got Ernest. We're marching down Armingle Ave, you know, not too far from here. And, you know, we're getting some honks and waves from the cars feels good. We passed Corner Stewart down on our Mingo to like last year, a car drove through the front of it.

Joey Rosen:

I don't know if you remember that car drove

Drew Beech:

to the

Joey Rosen:

front of it. And there's a guy sitting there. He's like, yo, where'd you steal the eagle from? Like, that's his first question. Like, not like what's the eagle about?

Joey Rosen:

Or it's like, where'd you steal it from? And I'm like, wait a second. Do we look like like it's theft immediately? Is that what it is? It

Drew Beech:

was funny. You remind me of my friends to steal lawn gnomes from, like, wherever

Joey Rosen:

So many of that's

Drew Beech:

what it was. Just so interesting. I just my memory just popped into my head.

Jesse:

And yet we're we're rocking. Yeah. We're not, like, walking

Joey Rosen:

a We're walking really slow.

Jesse:

They'll never catch us.

Drew Beech:

So he

Joey Rosen:

was the first personality we encountered, you know, but supportive after he asked the question. And then, you know, getting into the high, Jesse has made a promise to himself for is it the month of February?

Jesse:

Yeah. 30 well, 30 days.

Joey Rosen:

30 days.

Jesse:

On my birthday, which was on Friday.

Joey Rosen:

Okay.

Jesse:

So 3 days, 4 days in now.

Joey Rosen:

Okay. He's 4 days in. He is, off the weed. How would you say it? I don't know.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah.

Jesse:

Yeah. Sober.

Joey Rosen:

No smoking. Yeah. Sober.

Jesse:

Completely

Drew Beech:

sober. Temporarily or

Jesse:

At least 30 days reassessed.

Drew Beech:

Could it go oh, reassessed. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Okay.

Jesse:

It might extend it.

Drew Beech:

And there was temptation.

Joey Rosen:

So so he

Jesse:

So he conjured a lot of manifested many obstacles that was just not planned. Yeah. One of them was this temptation coming up in multiple Yeah. Multiple ways.

Joey Rosen:

So we there's a dispensary right around the corner from us, and it's called Rise. It's a Rise dispensary. Right? So immediately, we're hit with that. This is a fuel hunt Rise only event, essentially.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Then there's the Rise dispensary. So we had some laughs about that. After we passed the guy that thought we stole Ernest. Right?

Joey Rosen:

We had a guy tracking us. He was walking behind us, you know, and I'm like, I'm just programmed to be situationally aware. From us. Right. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

So I'm programmed to be situationally aware because he was closing distance on us. Right? And still, it's like 9:30 in the morning, but it doesn't matter. Yeah. Or 10:30 in the morning.

Joey Rosen:

I'm sorry, but it doesn't matter. So he comes up on me, and he's like, what are you guys doing? And I was like, ah, you know, we're rocking down at Liberty Bell blah blah. He's like, oh, it's a health thing. I said, well, kind of.

Drew Beech:

It's it's

Jesse:

a lot.

Joey Rosen:

It's a it's like yeah. But not really. Mental health thing. He's like, well, I'm smoking right now. He said, I'm about to head in my house right there.

Joey Rosen:

I'm gonna sit down on my couch. I wanna smoke too. You guys are welcome to come in. So we got a invitation into somebody's home for not a hydration station, but a weed station.

Drew Beech:

Hydration station. Stop.

Joey Rosen:

Hydration station. I like what you did last night. So we could've stopped in. Again, like, you know, appreciate the sentiment, appreciate the love. Ernest was like, if you guys do that, I'm gonna forgive you.

Joey Rosen:

So, we we passed.

Drew Beech:

That would have had another element We passed. Of suffering, by the way.

Joey Rosen:

We politely passed it. Yeah. Exactly.

Drew Beech:

Doing that stone might have been another level of

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Well, as you said,

Jesse:

No. Thank you. And I thought about it.

Joey Rosen:

Well, we did get stoned. We did get stoned.

Jesse:

We did

Joey Rosen:

get stoned. Stones. We, Trevor suggested instead of sand in the sandbag, which I've traditionally

Jesse:

I said how dare you? How dare you? I thought that I was gonna be sober, but no. We're getting stoned.

Joey Rosen:

We're getting stoned.

Jesse:

The with the extra 40 pound rock.

Joey Rosen:

He got we got the pebbles. You know what I mean? The small pebbles in there, which, to his, his liking, it feels like a massage on your neck, which initially it does for, like, the first 30 seconds. Then after that, it's it just feels like, you know, you're you're carrying rocks on your back essentially. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

So, met the hydration station, hydration station guy. That was cool. Kept going. A lot of love. We then had people stop us and basically ask, like, hey.

Joey Rosen:

Are you sober? Like, are you literally, are you drinking while you're doing this? And we're like, absolutely.

Jesse:

Seen us earlier on in the day. That was the other day. They saw us, like, an hour or so later, and they're like, it's the same guys because we care of this eagle. It's pretty Yeah. Yeah.

Jesse:

Stands out. Yeah. Yeah. Like, you They're

Joey Rosen:

a pain.

Drew Beech:

I'm not drinking. Over. Yeah. They were

Jesse:

just so surprised. They're, like, you're not drinking, like, doing this?

Drew Beech:

Yeah. It could be a like a like a bar curl. If you were, it would be it could be a lot easier. Like, I've walked pretty far.

Jesse:

Know about that.

Joey Rosen:

No. I would have rock on. We we had that discussion. We were like, well, first of all, now I'm sober, so not an option. But, if I stopped and had a beer, just one beer Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Like, walking with that rock and one misstep. Oh my god.

Jesse:

I clobber myself. Shout out shout out Rich. He didn't sit, I don't think at all. We took, like, one break, one bio break for, like, 10 minutes.

Joey Rosen:

Yep. And

Jesse:

we all sit down.

Joey Rosen:

We ate the snacks we had.

Jesse:

Snacks that we had, energy bars, whatever, sticks, water. Rich is the only one who says standing because he's like, yo.

Drew Beech:

No. I respect that.

Jesse:

I'm not gonna stand back.

Drew Beech:

I always think about in in a UFC fight, the guy that, like, passes on the on the store Oh, I'm store. That dude's a bad air.

Joey Rosen:

Listen, Richie, he's got calves, like, fucking bowling balls. Number 1 for me.

Drew Beech:

Probably never trained calves a day in his life.

Jesse:

Yeah. I know. It doesn't look like it.

Drew Beech:

That's what

Joey Rosen:

that's what it is.

Jesse:

Something's just genetic.

Joey Rosen:

That's a but savage strategy, and he's he's quiet, and he didn't mention the strategy to anybody. We sat at this table similar to this. We sat at this table. We had our snacks. We're all kicking, you know, kicking around how everything was going, and he just stood there and ate.

Joey Rosen:

So there and ate. And then all of the the the, 4 of us had to get up, And we're like, oh my god. And he's like, I know. See? That's why I was standing the whole time.

Joey Rosen:

I'm like, yo. Let let us in on the strategy, man.

Drew Beech:

In the the OG soft vest, that was the hard part is you would sit down for a bench or a Yeah. Or a, like, a Right. A squat to the I I was doing squats to the bench at the end because of

Joey Rosen:

my my hips

Drew Beech:

hurt so bad. Yep. But it was getting back out on that on that run, the quarter mile, whatever it was

Joey Rosen:

Yep.

Drew Beech:

Was the challenging part.

Joey Rosen:

So I'll I'll leave you. I know I've been, I won't run you through everything that we encountered, on The Rock. I will say some of it wasn't positive. There was some negativity, which none of us really appreciated. The wonderful thing about the negativity that we encountered during it was immediately after the negative incident, there was a positive one.

Joey Rosen:

And that was the Fit Aid guy. Remember him? So we cross we're working our way through Love Park, which, ironically, is where we had the incident. Working our way through Love Park, we crossed the street, and, we're heading back to HQ now. Right?

Joey Rosen:

And we see a guy and he's carrying his grocery bags. Right? And he's got a weighted vest on with a a Velcro FITAID, patch on it. And he's got his headphones in and you can

Drew Beech:

brother for you.

Joey Rosen:

You can tell he's on a mission. So he sees us, but he's, like, so mission focused, probably just, like, get home, whatever. That he doesn't really stop to engage, but he, like, looks at us, and we're just, like, passing. And we look at him and, like, I point at him, and he's just, like and he just not because he because he gets it.

Drew Beech:

So if that was you, if you are that member of the few, please reach out to us on Instagram, and please let us know.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Please DM us. Because

Drew Beech:

FitAid is someone we've worked closely with our one of our, I would say our our partner brands. Like, we have a lot of synergy. We we do collabs together and stuff. So it's interesting that that showed up. They

Joey Rosen:

How many Fit Aids were drank

Drew Beech:

that day?

Joey Rosen:

Probably 20? Yeah.

Jesse:

At least.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. For any any fitness related event we have, we always make sure that FitAids stocked up.

Joey Rosen:

Yep. Yeah. So, you know, he what are the odds? You know, weighted vest That's fit 8 patch on it.

Drew Beech:

That's a sign. It's a

Jesse:

sign. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. I manifested a lot during, that thing. I manifested a flood, dude. Yeah. I manifested a flood Wasn't there

Jesse:

on the way to Liberty Bell on the way back.

Drew Beech:

Power of the mind.

Joey Rosen:

I asked for elements. I was like, yeah. If it was raining, this would

Jesse:

be really It's not raining. It's not snowing.

Joey Rosen:

Like Legit flooding that way. Makes us feel video. Levy's cutting it into the the video Oh, really? The day, the flood.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. So, yeah, it was it was it was, it was absolutely, amazing. And Levial, I don't know

Drew Beech:

if you sent it No. Yeah. Yeah. Footage yet.

Joey Rosen:

That was one of the things, like, you know, I was even speaking with Dane, before the show. We have to have someone with us for the next few fest in Philly documenting it because there were so many just, like, micro moments on that rock

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

That I really wanted the community to see so much positivity and breakthroughs.

Drew Beech:

Getting one of our media team members to sign up for that is gonna be I'll put that on your channel your your plate for

Joey Rosen:

I feel like to in order for someone to really be in their skill set to create the proper thing mobile. They gotta be mobile. So Dane's already said he's gonna take off Tahoe Copper on the truck.

Drew Beech:

Kurt Kurt was there for our 1st time, man, but he Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Kurt was there.

Drew Beech:

He left. He came back. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Kurt's got some documentary footage for that first one, man. He couldn't even know if I wanna see that. I think my eyes were black. He's still, yep,

Drew Beech:

he's still with the other documentary. We all we all went in, like, a room in my garage. At the end of it, we're like, that was the worst.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. I was trying to be insightful,

Drew Beech:

and I

Joey Rosen:

was just like, pain.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. No.

Joey Rosen:

That's it. That's it.

Jesse:

So okay. So, like, that like, the day was awesome. The food after, incredible. But, like, day after

Drew Beech:

Yep.

Jesse:

How how was that for you?

Joey Rosen:

So, day after, what I do is, I stand outside for 4 hours, in a stationary position in the cold, selling Girl Scout cookies.

Drew Beech:

Oh my god. That's not even a girl scout. Just some, like, biohacking routine.

Joey Rosen:

Sunday's family day. So, like, you know, I just I sign up. Like, whatever it is, I sign up. So I stood for 4 hours, at the corner.

Drew Beech:

That's how long

Joey Rosen:

he was there? 26 in Brown and sold Girl Scout Cookies. Now

Drew Beech:

Was Everly close? Everly close.

Joey Rosen:

She was she was closing. Yeah. ABC.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. I'll just be close. I'll talk to her about it.

Joey Rosen:

600 in sales on that corner. Wow. Around the corner. 600 in sales. Wow.

Joey Rosen:

So, I felt

Drew Beech:

I felt commission off that?

Joey Rosen:

The troop gets a, small portion for activities. Okay. So, I felt fine the next day. My hips are tight, but, you know, standing in the cold, stationary for 4 hours, you know, kind of added a little bit of additional challenge to it. I didn't I didn't bitch and moan about it, but and then after that, you know, spent some more family time.

Joey Rosen:

I baked cookies. You know, I made a baked cookies.

Drew Beech:

What kind of cookies is it? Savage. Just to

Joey Rosen:

sugar cookies.

Drew Beech:

So you sold girl Girl Scout cookies more like.

Joey Rosen:

You went to go

Drew Beech:

meet your

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. It was a When

Drew Beech:

you had the world's best cookies

Joey Rosen:

at your At your favorite place. Well, you know, I mean, look. It was family day, man. I sign up. You know?

Joey Rosen:

We we do things. So I was How about you? How was how about the

Jesse:

day after? Yeah. No. I didn't leave my Airbnb.

Joey Rosen:

Was that because you didn't want to or because you I told you couldn't. It was

Drew Beech:

an air it would have mixed your both.

Jesse:

I would have Airbnb'd or, Ubered out if I needed to get anywhere, but, no, I DoorDash, like, 7 things that day. One of which was £35 of ice. Yeah. Your boy needed it.

Drew Beech:

Oh, I will say the the OG sock bass soreness was something to, like, overcome for a few for a week probably. Bro, I

Joey Rosen:

had to crawl my steps when I got home after that. You know, this had we we walked up we walked up my steps Yeah. You know, which was cool.

Jesse:

Just getting in the car was

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Getting in the yeah. Getting in the Jeep was a was a mission. Yeah. I mean, look.

Joey Rosen:

I think that's all of our anecdotes. I mean, if we wanted to add one other thing, Jesse's never had duck before, so we're gonna correct that before you go.

Jesse:

Shouting it through your Chinatown.

Drew Beech:

I've only ever had it at a wedding. Like, it but it's good.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Well, I'm talking about, like, Peking duck, like

Drew Beech:

Oh, no.

Joey Rosen:

With it. No. Okay. Alright. So, luckily, we just found another hey.

Joey Rosen:

Pick your duck out.

Drew Beech:

Oh, no. No. No.

Joey Rosen:

No? No. Okay. You're still in.

Jesse:

Oh, yeah. Let's go.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. My yeah. Sounds great. I'll try it.

Joey Rosen:

Oh oh, you're saying you're still okay.

Drew Beech:

Yeah. I'm just saying As

Jesse:

long as I have a different type of bird.

Joey Rosen:

Yeah. Yeah. Yeah. Yeah.

Drew Beech:

Alright. Well, is there anything else that you'd like to cover?

Joey Rosen:

Good question.

Drew Beech:

I am excited to join you on the next one. Mhmm. God God willing. Right? Like, I I I don't, like You

Joey Rosen:

got time because it'll probably be May. Right. It's gonna be May.

Drew Beech:

But I need my my gut health to get to a a spot where it's ready to withstand the the pain and suffering of a a of a misogyny because it is a lot. It's a lot on your your microbiome, your mental, your physical. Like, it's not for everyone. No. Even some of the hardest working people, the people that like to push themselves the most, I my friends, I say, hey.

Drew Beech:

You wanna do this? No. No. No. Thank you.

Drew Beech:

Like, it's it's what it is.

Joey Rosen:

That was the thing. I mean, we we did have, some people come out and say it was, like, a little easy. I got, like, some comments, about that, but not everybody showed up.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

You know what I mean? So how easy was it? Yeah. Yeah. It's a lot.

Joey Rosen:

But, I feel good, at the prospect that you're gonna be there for the next one for The Rock.

Drew Beech:

Me too. Alright. So we'll wrap this up. But do you wanna go over again the plans for the next

Joey Rosen:

I I will. I will. So, the few fests will always be free for Fuel Hunt Rise members. Right? This FEW Fest, if you weren't a fuel home rise member and you read my emails, you had the opportunity to join us for a couple bucks.

Joey Rosen:

It was, like, $29. Yeah. And then, you get a free month of fuel on rise with that. So that's the important thing to mention. Like, get in fuel on rise because this stuff starts there.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

You know, the ideas begin there. We kick them around with the community, and then they become real life. So, definitely join us in fuel hunt rise. If you don't know what that is, Drew mentioned in the beginning of the show, but you can go to, fuelhunt.comforward/rise, and, you'll see a video of me with a black eye. Don't ask.

Joey Rosen:

Explaining the whole thing. And, the the gear and growth benefits We're gonna

Drew Beech:

cover that in our one of our next episodes.

Joey Rosen:

Next yeah. That'll be next episode. So we're gonna do the few fast quarterly, and then we'll do a larger Musogi, which might be Sufferfest. I mean, people are liking that name

Drew Beech:

Oh my god.

Joey Rosen:

In, in December. That's the plan. And keeping to our promise that we made for this year, we're going to spring these things up across the US. Would we love to have everybody here in Philly do it? Yes.

Joey Rosen:

But it's not practical for everybody to travel. We realize that, you know, it's costly. It's not practical for everybody to travel. So what we'll do is spring them up in Austin and other and other places across the US for the few to participate. So stay tuned.

Joey Rosen:

Again, join Fuel Hunt Rise. And if, you don't do that, read my emails because we'll we'll make mention of it in the next, coming weeks.

Drew Beech:

And if you want rides, you level up your brain, your body, and your business, which is the people around you. It's Yep. Social media for hard workers. I will say that I don't even it's hard to even go on Instagram sometimes because you have the people we're looking for right there

Joey Rosen:

on Instagram. I find myself there

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

Much more often now than, than Instagram, to be honest. And there's no bullshit with the algorithm and the trolling and Yeah. And not to say that you gotta always be around people that just think like you, but there's plenty of other places to get all that other input.

Drew Beech:

Sure.

Joey Rosen:

You know what I mean? So few of our hunt rise is a welcome place for Eagles.

Drew Beech:

So, I will before I sign this off, Jesse, you got anything any any closing remarks? I appreciate you 1st, coming from Texas, 2nd, risking your life in the hood of Philadelphia, and 3rd, joining us for the few fest and also the podcast because people are getting emails from you as a member of our team, and it's nice for them to put a face to the name.

Joey Rosen:

And how about even just in, like, in a bigger bigger realm, something that we didn't talk about? You know, we've been focused on the few fest and earnest so much. Like, you believing in what we're doing and joining our team. You know what I mean? Like, we couldn't do what we do without our team.

Joey Rosen:

That includes you. You're not here every day with us, but you are in spirit, you know, physically, but you are in spirit. And I'm excited for the community to hear more from you, you know, over an email and SMS. But what started in, I guess, a cold DM that you sent me? Look look look where we're at now, man.

Jesse:

Wild. Well and actually that condition for chaos message, that was the first message where I was like, these are my people. Yeah. Let's go. So I I appreciate that, man.

Drew Beech:

Yeah.

Jesse:

And, yeah, I mean, it's it's I feel like we're only just getting started. Yeah.

Joey Rosen:

It's just the beginning.

Jesse:

It's just the beginning. Day 1 every day. Day 1.

Drew Beech:

Day 1. The takeover, baby. Alright. So with that, I'll remind you the the few. Always choose hard work over handouts.

Drew Beech:

Always choose effort over entitlement. And remember, no one owes you. No No one owns you. You're one of the few. Let's hunt.

Drew Beech:

Let's hunt. Let's get it. Let's

Jesse:

go. Alright.
