For this episode, we’ll talk about how we can bring the energy that we have from work to our evening with our families because that energy usually is not the best energy. Either it's an energy which is like that energy of guilt and lack of productivity.
Good thing is that we have the option to reset this energy so we can spend time and be more present with our family and have a great evening together at home with them. This is all about what I call “The Switch”.

I'm letting go, letting go. Let it go. Let it go.
Everybody! Sagi here and I'm on my way right now back from work to my home, and some of us have a drive back home. I have a pretty short drive. It's 6:00 PM right now and some of us work at our home office. I used to work from home for like five years, but eventually it's the same because, you know, we carry energy from one place to another and you know, once we carry that energy, it might be good energy, but it might also be, you know, not so good energy and we might feel drained from the work day.
We might be full of guilt that we haven't accomplished all our tasks. Or for me, my mind is racing with thoughts about, Oh my God, there's so much I needed to still get done, but also, I promised my wife, I'll try to make it out of the office before six, but you know, but 6:00 PM the latest, and you know what?
I made it only to 6:00 PM I didn't make it before 6:00 PM which is, you know, I wanted to, but I couldn't. And I feel a bit of guilt about like letting her down or kind of giving her the impression that I would be able to maybe make it before six. I wanted to over promise and overdeliver, but I didn't.
And so a bit of guilt about not completing my tasks and eventually I think we all have that. And one tip that helps me and I want to also kind of give you is like, we don't wanna go back home with all that energy carried from our work to our evening with our families because that energy usually is not the best energy. Either it's an energy which is like a, you know, that energy of like guilt and you know, lack of productivity. Although I've been super productive today and sometimes have an energy of like, I've been so productive I want to get more done at work at my previous kind of endeavor today, but now you're moving on to your next endeavor, and the next endeavor is your kids and your spouse, your partner.
They need you, right? They need us to serve them. They need us to be present for them and that's why I think that it's very crucial that we do this, what's called like energy reset. This is all about what I call “The Switch”. Now imagine that you have a button, right? We sometimes we feel we need this like reset.
What if we had a reset button that resets our energy and gives us like a fresh start now to go on to the next phase of our day? We might actually be able to pull that up. And you know how, Well, here's one thing that helps me. Well, I just imagine just having a reset button, just like tapping a reset button, as simple as that sounds, that really, really helps me to reset my energy towards now being present with my kids and my wife and my family.
I think just imagining a reset button kind of gets you to ask, well, what am I resetting to? Because now I'm kind of saying, okay, I'm resetting to be more intentional. Now I'm present with my family, with my kids and my wife, and have a great evening together at home. So I think that helps me. And another thing that you might want to try is a one minute energy reset that was introduced to me by Brendan Bouchard.
He was talking about us in this book. You can try and one minute kind of just sitting in your car before you go upstairs or at your home office and just sitting before you walk out of that door and saying "I'm letting go. Energy reset mode. Letting go. Let it go. Let it go." Take one breath in one breath out. Just say, let it go.
Let go of that energy. So think using meditation, mindfulness, breath work. And for me it's just like kind like a mental image of a reset button and just like click tapping the reset button, as simple as that is. That's it. That's all we need. All we need to do. So next time you go back from work, try that. Let me know how it goes.
Let me know here in the comments or wherever you're seeing this, like just how it went. Cheers! Hey guys, what's up? Sagi here.
