Welcome. I’m Easter Ellen.
I write stories, reflections, and imagined entire worlds. Some are arguably true, some are suspiciously borrowed from memory, some are robustly exaggerated, and some are made up entirely from the pure delight of imagining.
Mostly, I write what persists stubbornly enough that I can no longer ignore it.

Welcome to Easter Ellen. This is the sister space for my writing and video channels. I read my flavor of the day pieces, followed by whatever thread of thought shows up, and let the work live in audio form.
Easter Ellen:Today's piece is called The Sunset Gift.
Easter Ellen:Every day, day after day, God creates the sunset for that evening, putting all his love into it, choosing the perfect mix of colors, shaping a sky no one has ever seen before.
Easter Ellen:One little perfect splash, a brush stroke, a golden burst at a time. Every day, outdoing himself from the day before. Every day sending a new message of love, a new message of beauty, a gift carried into the world by the simple act of the setting sun.
Easter Ellen:When the evening comes, just as the sun is about to begin its descent, there is God waiting happily with anticipation, waiting with love, waiting with expectancy. Some people may notice and say, oh, that's really pretty.
Easter Ellen:Some may pause a moment and say, oh my goodness. That's beautiful. Some may stand still and whisper, I've never seen anything like this. And some, just some, may look at the sky and know that this is not random beauty. This is not ordinary light.
Easter Ellen:This is the work of God's great hand, that magnificent love he has for us, given again and again and again, day after day, sunset after sunset for all eternity.
Easter Ellen:And when someone notices with a moment of awe and reverence for the beauty he chose to create that day, he smiles.
Easter Ellen:Thank you for listening.
