Hi, and welcome to the state podcast. I'm your host, Rebecca McVoy. Today's date is 10/07/2025. The forecast predicts that it'll be a cool day with the high being 65 and the low being 49. The state podcast is a daily podcast that brings you the stories that matter.

Speaker 1:

Starting off today with MSU on campus news. The first Holden Hall residents returned for a fifty eight year reunion. Some of the first students to ever reside in Holden Hall had a reunion with the 13 of the original 50 residents of the second floor of Holden Hall in 1967. Paul Vigilante and Lisa Parker are the two main reasons this group has been able to stay so close for so long. Both worked alongside or for the office of alumni at MSU, bringing people together with shared MSU experiences.

Speaker 1:

The Challenge MSU brings reality TV to life for a thousand dollar prize. Based on the MTV reality TV show The Challenge, around 30 members compete in weekly tasks like a blindfolded tennis ball hunt, jalapeno eating contest, and tug of war on buckets. The challenges are meant to test competitors' teamwork, dedication, and humor. Every Wednesday, two students are eliminated until only one remains to take home $1,000 in cash. Moving on to sports news, Is On Camp Out returns, marking a new season of MSU basketball.

Speaker 1:

The Is On Camp Out marks the start of the twenty twenty five-twenty twenty six men's basketball season and the return of one of college basketball's most electric student sections. Every fall, thousands of the eager students wrestle with tent poles, meet members of the men's and women's basketball teams, and find community through a shared love of MSU, All to take part in a story tradition that lasts nearly as long as Izzo himself. MSU Women's Soccer takes on the Ohio State Buckeyes. In East Lansing, after a two game home road trip, the Michigan State Women's Soccer team returned home to take on the Ohio State Buckeyes. The Spartans and Buckeyes faced off last night, and the game ended in a one to one tie.
