OK Solberg:

Once again, welcome here to the 405 Coffee Break. Guys, middle of the week, Wednesday. Get your cup of coffee, glass iced tea, bottled water. Let's see what's happening. Spring wheat, $5.63 a bushel.

OK Solberg:

550lb steer calf, $3.97 Although they're not selling much now, but boy, wait for another two months, six weeks. They'll be going like gangbusters. Butcher hog in Iowa, 59¢ a pound, and a 100lb fat lamb in Billings, $2.14. But guys theres more, much more.

OK Solberg:

You know what? It finally dawned on me, I apologize for being so lackadaisical. I realize that many, if not all of you, have a huge interest that I have not yet covered on this program. And I think back, I can hear myself saying this is an equal opportunity program, and yet I left this one subject untouched. As I think of it now, I really feel ashamed.

OK Solberg:

You've been desiring to hear about it on this program, and here I have left your need unmet. Reminds me of a Bible verse that many of us have forgotten. It's written in the 92nd Psalm, and it's verse six. The dull man cannot know. The stupid cannot understand this.

OK Solberg:

Then the verse goes on. You'll have to read it for yourself, picking up with verse seven. But that verse six is what I needed to say. The dull man cannot know the stupid cannot understand this. I feel dull.

OK Solberg:

I feel stupid. I know and love words, but at this point in time, I feel obtuse, annoyingly insensitive, or slow to understand. So so here here's the deal, guys. I've talked about the days gone by, I've spoken a history here in Phillips County. Why?

OK Solberg:

I've shared my passion for words, and I've talked on and on of the power and importance of music. I told you about cars, baseball, even stories of my youth. For Pete's sakes, I even told you the delights of making a quilt and even, dun dun dun dun, a few cooking tidbits from the kitchen. Now as I contemplate the error of my way, the words of Harriet Beecher Stowe come to mind. The bitterest tears shed over graves are for words left unsaid and deeds left undone.

OK Solberg:

Yet, please remember and never forget, a late bloom still blooms, and even the last light reaches the shore. Okay. Let's skip the fanfare. No more drum roll. Let's go straight to the heart of it.

OK Solberg:

The one top topic I have left unsaid here on the 405 is dealing with jigsaw puzzles. Not once did I ever mention a jigsaw puzzle, not even in passing. But not not only that, I didn't notify you on the USA jigsaw national finals that were held in Washington Washington DC this past April, only just three short months ago. Yes, sir Bob, the USA Jigsaw Nationals were held in Washington DC this year, and you could have stayed at the Riot Regency Hyatt Regency on Capitol Hill at 400 New Jersey Avenue Northwest. And it would only been a 22 walk from there to the convention center for the jigsaw puzzle competition on April 4th, 5th & 6th.

OK Solberg:

Well, I know what happened. I was so taken with baseball's opening day on March 27th that I totally neglected mentioning the jigsaw puzzle national finals that happened just one week later. I'm sorry. I hope you can forgive me. This is what happened.

OK Solberg:

For individuals, here was the competition information. You'll have an hour and a half to put together a 500 piece jigsaw puzzle. There were three preliminary rounds with 200 contestants in each round. The winners advanced followed by one final round with only 200 finalists competing. So, again I apologize, but I feel there's still hope.

OK Solberg:

I am now announcing on the 405 next year's national finals for jigsaw puzzle competition. Mark it on your calendar the 2026 USA jigsaw nationals will be held in Atlanta, Georgia on March 27th, 28th & 29th. And here's a helpful hint. Baseball's opening day next year is March 26. So you can attend attend the opening day for baseball next spring, and the following day, you can enter the USA Jigsaw Nationals in Atlanta, Georgia.

OK Solberg:

Don't be late. Participate, get in gear, disappear. And as you practice, remember this, generally it's best to do the edges first to eliminate a sizable percentage of the pieces and give clues for other pieces, their placement, but it's not always best. If the puzzle is round, you usually work from the middle, using the pieces' shapes for guidance since the interior pieces have a sharper curve. There you go.

OK Solberg:

So until next time, as you go out there, remember now, don't be bitter.
