Hello, darling. This is River Roaring, celebrating the Luminous Life Force in us all. Hello, darling. It's River Roaring, and this episode is The Mitote Book, a simple yet powerful tool for higher consciousness. Thanks for being here with me today.
Speaker 1:I wanna share with you today a really simple and very powerful tool that has helped me raise my consciousness to a different level. It has helped me stop wasting energy in my mind and harness all of that energy to put toward what I would really like it to go toward. So the word Mitote means noise in my head. So this tool can help you release all that noise in your head. Most of us have way too much noise in our head for our own good.
Speaker 1:From the moment we wake up, through our interactions with our family, through our interactions with our work, through... Even the noise often continues through our massages, our sound baths, and our meditations. And even when we're in those intimate moments with our lover, our head can be full of noise, noise, chatter, chatter. So what could be better than a simple tool that helps you remove and release that noise from your head? And this is how simple it is.
Speaker 1:It's so simple and powerful that all you need is a small blank notebook or journal and a pen. This tiny little notebook is from when I got to see Martin Armstrong in person. This is an example I'm holding up for those of you who are listening, a small blank notebook and a pen. Can you do this on your mobile device? Yes.
Speaker 1:And there is some power behind the handwritten word. The visceral experience in your body of writing on paper is very helpful for this practice. Yet, nonetheless, you can achieve huge shifts in your life even if you just use your mobile device. All you really need is a little bit of space in your mobile device to write things down. At the same time, if you can use a paper journal, I feel there's some slight difference and it might be a little more effective, but this is up to you.
Speaker 1:That's your style. So in this episode, I want to describe a really potent tool that I was given given fifteen to twenty years ago by Heather Ash Amara at the Toltec Center of Creative Intent. And what a great gift this was that she gave us. Mitote, by the way, is a Toltec word as far as I know and it means noise in our head. It also has some other meanings so we would also use the word Mitote for an all night ritual when we would stay up all night in spiritual ritual.
Speaker 1:However, what we're using it for right now, Mitote, is the noise in my head is the Mitote, and the Mitote book will help us. So we have our little blank notebook. The first step is to find some noise in your head that you would like to release and not have in there anymore, such as judging other people, judging myself or negative self talk, comparing myself to others. Or it could be something really simple like cuss words or sick jokes that you just don't want to have that habit anymore in your life. Any kind of thoughts you're having in your head that just are no longer serving you.
Speaker 1:So the first step is simply to decide which thing you're going to work with first. I first used the Mitote book to stop judging and it was wildly informative and effective. So once you've decided what it is you want to release out of your head from now on for the rest of your life, all you have to do is write down every single time it happens in your Mitote book. So what that means is you take the book with you everywhere you go. Yes.
Speaker 1:Even to the bathroom, especially if that's where a lot of the noise happens in your head. So I have the book I would keep in my pocket or with me, and I would carry it around, put it in my purse. And then every single time I judged someone else in my head, I pulled the book out and wrote it down. I had to write down, I just judged this person for for whatever it was. I just judged this person for, boy, I judging people for a lot of things.
Speaker 1:I was judging... I don't even want to say how many things I was judging. I was judging people's looks, people's wealth back then. I was judging wealth. Like, look at that car.
Speaker 1:I was judging people's habits. I was judging their politics. I was judging laziness. I was judging everything. In fact, it was wild how much of my mental space was taken just judging.
Speaker 1:This is too small. This is too big. They look mean. They're rude. They're...
Speaker 1:What? They're wearing pink. They're wearing blue. I was judging left and right and every single time bar none. The Mitote book only works if you don't skip any.
Speaker 1:You have to write down every one. So I decided to first stop using it to stop judging. And I was writing down anytime I judged myself or others or anything. And I was writing down any time I judged anything or anyone or myself as bad or good. Even good is a judgment and it is a false judgment.
Speaker 1:Things in the world around us actually aren't bad or good. And I knew that in my heart, but my mind was still going, Oh, that's good. That's bad. That's bad. That's good.
Speaker 1:And I wanted to stop it. And let me tell you, my Mitote book filled up so fast. I couldn't believe it. I really couldn't. I was writing judgments down seemingly every few seconds at first.
Speaker 1:It was enlightening to say the least. I recorded every single judgment that crossed my mind in that book. I don't know whether it's the fact that I got tired of writing so much or that I finally became aware of how often I was judging myself or others. Like, Oh, River, you did that again. You're so stupid.
Speaker 1:Whoop. Write it down. But either way, I was quickly retraining my mind to notice the judgment and to stop the judging. And most importantly, I got to do something else with my mind. Because I remember those first few days, it was almost like I was always writing in the book.
Speaker 1:Like, Oh my gosh, oh my gosh, judgments are just flooding through me all the time. And then it started to become a little bit less that I was writing in my book. A little bit less frequent the judgments were happening. And I finally was able to put the book down when I actually went for a day or two or three with no judgments crossing my mind anymore. Once that book forced me to do a reality check on the noise that was really happening and forced me to take an action and do some things with my hand and write down laboriously every time I was doing it.
Speaker 1:It was like, God, I don't want to keep writing this down. And something in my being just let the judgments go. Am I perfect today? Do I never ever judge myself or others today? No, I wouldn't say that.
Speaker 1:And however, I have a tool. So if I started noticing that I was in a habit again of calling everything good, bad, good, bad, good, bad, like I'm the little queen of the universe and I get to pronounce what's good and what's bad. And if I noticed that happening again on any kind of regular basis, I would pull out my Mitote book and get busy with it because like how often am I doing this? Later I did the same thing with comparisons. So I noticed, oh wait a minute, it's never healthy or helpful.
Speaker 1:It never serves me just like with judgments. It never serves me to judge other people. So I realized it never serves me to compare myself to other people. So I noticed another piece of noise I wanted to get out of my head. So I got another little blank Mitote book and I started writing down every time in my mind I was comparing myself to someone else.
Speaker 1:And there I was again, quickly writing, often writing. Oh my god. I'm constantly like, oh, I guess I... You know, they did this, but I do it less. And like, oh, they did this, but I do it more.
Speaker 1:Oh, I'm a little more blank than this person. I'm a little less blank than that person. Like, what's going on with all the wasted energy and noise that's totally unneeded? So I kept my book with comparisons and I noticed I was comparing a lot because my hand was getting tired of writing them all down. And I just don't think I would have noticed how frequently I was doing it without my little Mitote book.
Speaker 1:Most recently, this came up for me again because my little self was feeling like I don't have enough heart connections in my life. And my higher self was trying to let her know, actually we do have a lot of heart connections sweetheart, that's just not really true, but my little one wouldn't listen. And so I decided, let's get out the Mitote book and prove it one way or another. So we got it out, I got out a blank book, and I started to write down every heart connection I had each day. I would write the name of the person down like, oh, so and so, so and so, so and so, so and so, so and so.
Speaker 1:Guess what? It lasted a few days before my Mitote book was basically full and overflowing with all the heart connections I was having day to day. It was a great reality check because I had so many names in my little book every day that I had plenty of heart connections. So it was my Mitote book where I got real with myself and whichever whatever I am wanting to stop doing which in this case was stop thinking you don't have people in your life if it's if you have a lot of people in your life. So, Mitote, come and show us.
Speaker 1:Let's truth up about it. I was thinking thinking of another use of the Mitote book. Here's one, gossip. Like, gossip, for me, I define gossip as I have been... I am talking about someone who is not here in the conversation, and I probably would not say this directly to their face.
Speaker 1:That's what I call gossip. And in my spiritual life, gossip is never helpful. It never serves me well. Never. It never serves me well.
Speaker 1:So I knew I want to get... I want to stop gossiping. So got out my handy little blank Mitote book for gossip and I started making a note. I gossiped about someone today. I was talking about someone and they were not there and frankly and honestly and truthfully I would not want to say that to their face.
Speaker 1:So I wrote down every time I gossiped in my Mitote book. And that one did not take very long because I remember that one. I was writing them down and then it was... There's just a point with the Mitote book for me. Every time I do it, there's a point where I'm like, Oh, I'm healed.
Speaker 1:I don't need this anymore. I am so aware now and I so don't want to be writing things down all the time that my being, guess it's that my subconscious and unconscious finally got the message from my consciousness, we don't want to do that anymore. And it's this Mitote book that helps teach and bridge from my conscious mind not wanting to do that anymore to bridge it into the unconscious when I pull it out and have to write it down on a book. It can't stay hidden anymore. The light is on it now.
Speaker 1:The Mitote book brings light to the truth of what we're really doing inside our mind and or our words, but I've always used it for mental processes. So my darling, what noise in your head would you like to stop? Is there any? Something you could do today if you just wanted to get started would be to start with judgments. How often are you judging yourself or others as good or bad?
Speaker 1:Grab a Mitote book and a pen, put it in your pocket or your purse, and start honestly writing down every single judgment that passes through your mind in your Mitote book and just see what happens. Let the magic unfold into itself. How quickly does your Mitote book fill up? Fill up with your writings. And what happens after you keep this Mitote book, honestly, for say a week or two?
Speaker 1:It's amazing how quickly I have found the book to help me make a change. And when I think about it, I think it's been faster every time. I think when I've used the Mitote book, it's been a faster transformation inside me every time. And then that moment comes where I realize, Oh, I don't need this book anymore. Haven't written in it for a while.
Speaker 1:Or when I was writing down my heart connections in the book, it was like, Oh, I think I've proved this to myself. I see that. I have many, many every day, and so I feel content. I don't have that false idea in my head anymore. The Mitote book has served its purpose.
Speaker 1:Thank you, Mitote book. Thank you, Heather Ash Amara and the Toltec Center of Creative Intent. Thank you for this gift. So the real gift of the Mitote is you do a really deep reality check on something and you line up your subconscious and unconscious with your conscious self. Everyone can jump onto the same page together.
Speaker 1:So the real gift of the Mitote book is all of the energy that you can reclaim and put toward your life purpose and things you really want to do in the world. When you stop the noise in your head, what does that give you? You know, when I started this work, the noise in my head was more than half of all the things my head was doing. And now that I've used the book for each thing I wanted to do, I have a lot more energy in my mental body, consciousness, and in my unconscious because I'm not even subtly judging all day long. What would you do with all the extra energy you could recover and reclaim if you didn't have any noise in your head anymore, if your thoughts now were in service of your highest purpose in the world all the time.
Speaker 1:So you can use your energy in a way that serves you and others, and you can fulfill your mission on earth. If your mission is to serve others, then this Mitote book can help you benefit others in a far higher way. So my darling, I hope that this powerful Mitote book can help you bring lots of new positive energy into your life and change your life for the better in a really short amount of time with virtually no money spent and a full new you ready to go and lots of new energy to put toward loving and living the way you want to liberated. Liberated, loving, and living, which is so much more satisfying satisfying than noise in our head. So I hope that this little gift and tool serves you well.
Speaker 1:I would love to hear from you in your comments if it serves you well, if it doesn't serve you well, if you've used it before, if you use it successfully to stop some of the noise in your head, if you try to use it and it's really hard to remember to write everything down, if you find some habits that help you to write everything down because it only works when you're honest about it. And my darling, I also want to take a few minutes to say we have a weekend workshop coming up in Austin, Texas, November six to eight, this is where the deepest work unfolds with me barring private one on one work. So if you are attracted to the idea of... It's not the Mitote book we'll be doing in the workshop. Instead, it's something very deep and personal that it takes in person time to do well, which is finding a deeper part of yourself, the part of you that is way beneath the words so that you can show up more authentically in the world and with your partners through embodied, sensual embodiment.
Speaker 1:All the details are on my website. I'm at riverroaring.com. The website is riverroaring.com.
