We cover the sport of CrossFit from all angles. We talk with athletes, coaches and celebrities that compete and surround in the sport of CrossFit at all levels. We also bring you Breaking News, Human Interest Stories and report on the Methodology of CrossFit. We also use the methodology to make ourselves the fittest we can be.
Major breaking news.
I hate my job.
So when that lunch bell ring, yeah,
you know what to do.
Hit play, stay strong,
let the park carry you.
Clydesdale Cowboy, yeah, we stay on track.
Midday Kings of the mic, yeah,
we always come back.
From the gym to the screen, yeah,
we cover it all.
Midday motivation every time you press
call.
Lunch with the Clydesdale.
Cowboy bring the heat.
Crossfit, boobies, music on repeat.
Half hour hustle, yeah,
we building that brand.
Grab a plate, tune in now,
you part of the fam.
It's lunch time.
Boom.
Boom.
Here we go.
What's going on, brother?
Oh, same stuff.
Different day, as it turns out.
I'm wearing the T-shirt of my favorite
athlete.
You know, I can't.
Does that say Jamie?
Hell yeah.
I ain't mad at Jamie Letterman.
Big fan.
Let's go to the Sirloin Stockade.
I don't even know what that means,
but anywhere there's sirloin, let's roll.
At a stockade, let's have some fun.
A hundred percent.
All the way in.
All the way in.
I would much rather go to a sirloin
stockade than a golden corral.
I was just thinking that.
You know what I miss is the old
ponderosas.
I've heard of ponderosas.
We never had those around here, though.
Dude, it was like ten cent steaks.
Dude, it was so bad.
So riding back and forth to the venue
every day in Birmingham for semifinals,
me and Bernard passed by this place.
It took us two times before we actually
realized what it said,
but it was a discount pharmacy.
And we were discussing the fact that I
don't really want a discount pharmacy.
If it comes to my prescriptions,
like I want,
I don't want the shit that's been on
the shelf for ten years.
And like we suddenly try to just get
it off of there.
Like I want the real stuff.
And I feel like a ten cent stake
is probably around the same thing.
Like I don't really want,
I don't want discount meat.
I don't want a discount pharmacy.
I don't want,
like I am willing to pay full price
for that kind of stuff.
Maybe that's just me.
I don't know.
Um,
my Clydesdale media t-shirt gave me extra
workout superpowers.
It's, it's what it does.
I don't like to advertise that because
like,
I just want my close friends to get
the superpower.
It is a side effect.
You're welcome.
But it is.
I don't want to sound like a discount
drug commercial that you may get some
itching and rashing between your genitals
and anus.
It seems to be on the TV all
the time now.
I know you were looking for ibuprofen,
but this is bibuprofen.
It's slightly different,
but it's real close to the same thing.
No, I don't want that.
How about a pocket jerky joint?
Well,
we hit that joint right before this show.
Right before the show as I got popped
in with pocket jerky.
It's perfectly fine.
I was actually calling it pocket protein,
which actually sounds a whole lot worse
than jerky in my opinion.
It identifies as ibuprofen.
Oh, look at Birch.
Yeah, there you go.
Just as I haven't worn my shirt yet
because I'm not sure the ladies at the
gym could handle it.
Dude,
that shirt has so many cool side effects,
but you got to be prepared.
You need to be, yeah.
You can't just randomly throw it on.
Yeah, it's like,
do you ever see the movie Batman?
He keeps his suit in a case,
like a full glassed-in locker,
because it has superpowers.
It makes him strong.
It makes him smart.
It's a display case that only he and
Alfred can see, which is kind of creepy,
if I'm being completely honest.
But I mean,
it is Batman we're talking about.
And that's why you have to be careful
with the Clydesdale Media shirt.
But if you want one,
we got them for sale.
As it turns out, thirty,
thirty two dollars.
That includes shipping in the U.S.
If you're outside the U.S.,
We'll figure something out.
Let's talk.
Let's talk if we're outside the US.
In addition to that, there it is.
There it is right there.
It's soft and comfortable.
I'm getting so many comments about how
soft it is.
A hundred percent.
Jay Birch, we have everything left.
All the things.
All the things, Jay Birch.
We got all of them.
so birch said he's doing a lifting
competition he's going to need that to
represent i mean i'd like to know what
kind of like we're doing like a power
lifting thing birch what kind of what kind
of comp you got going on there brother
well let me let me finish that you
got to give me your name your address
and your size in the comments of the
venmo or cash app you see the qr
codes there right below it is the username
and if they ask you for my last
four digits of my phone number six eight
four nine six eight four nine so with
that now lifting comp power olympic
sandbag oh that would be amazing i would
go watch that
like it's gonna happen just it's gonna be
the the lifting event from the games in
twenty what was that twenty one twenty two
when did boss do them power lifting power
lifting all right birch i was a power
lifter for like ten months oh man
So I hear all these,
especially even just around us, oh,
I did powerlifting in high school,
or yeah,
we had soccer at high school and whatnot.
At Assumption High, we had football,
basketball, baseball, cross country.
It was actually a golf team,
believe it or not,
which there was only like three people on
it.
um that's it there's no power lifting
there was no yeah basic if you could
find it on uh espn we probably did
it at our stuff um amanda says her
shirt definitely helped her get through
some dumbbell thrusters this week see i
didn't even add that in because this
collides dale does not like thrusters of
any form kind anything
anything that like helps you with that is
is a plus so but i was not
thinking thruster help when i ordered and
created the shirt glad it glad it had
some rollover uh max bench squat dead with
an amrap of each in between okay that's
like a tie like a tiebreaker
I don't know.
That sounds kind of crazy.
I like it though.
Yeah.
Every powerlifting meet I ever did was
just bench, squat, deadlift.
Yeah.
Brody did powerlifting his sophomore to
freshman year in high school.
It was fun to watch.
So those kids were absolutely monsters.
It's incredible.
yeah uh max bench then drop the weight
to a prescribed weight and one minute of
amrap of bench oh dude okay that changes
the game completely because the fatigue
from the amrap is way worse than the
one rep max absolutely people don't
realize how long a minute is until you
have to do something for the entire minute
i did a comp
And they had one of those floater wads
that everybody had to go do.
And it was one-minute AMRAP of,
I want to say, like,
one-thirty-five bench.
And you're thinking, that's nothing.
And then you're getting into, like,
you're getting into, like, thirty-eight.
Holy shit.
Thirty-nine.
And you're sitting there just trying to
hold it up like you're supposed to.
Because if you rack it, you're done.
That's right.
You're not.
You're sitting there with noodle arms.
I'm going to get back up.
I'm going to get back up.
No, you're not.
You're not.
I'm sorry.
If I can last a minute, I'm good.
They didn't say max thrusters, Joseph.
They said max bench.
I mean, same thing.
Same, same, but different.
Same, same, but different.
So I had a really...
really really weird experience today i am
so here for it so i told you
i hate my job i think i don't
know vicky has he ever mentioned that
before remind us um i had to do
a training today for another department on
how to use our website so hour and
a half training
I hate training anymore.
I used to do it all the time.
Just hate doing it.
So I finished the training and they put
up a poll.
How good was the training?
And I'm sitting there thinking, is,
am I back in grad school?
Am I getting like graded immediately
following this training?
Right.
So why did I break out into a
cold sweat?
So you were just talking to this guy.
How good of a job did he do
five seconds ago?
Hold on.
And it's right up there on the screen.
There's a poll.
I need you to back up a little
bit.
Did you say that you had to teach
people how to use a website today?
So I help people find work, right?
That's my department's job, right?
Right.
So we have a job website that has
a lot of tools for employers to be
able to post jobs,
how to be able to create templates,
auto-reject letters,
different stuff like that.
So I was showing them how to use
all those aspects.
Got you.
Not that I wanted to rehash the training.
No, I know.
But you said you were trying to show
people how to use a website.
I'm like, what year are we in?
Because I'm fairly certain most people
probably know how to use a website.
Well,
you shouldn't make assumptions like that
either.
I am open to being wrong.
Um, so yeah,
it all finishes and I'm like,
thank you for having me.
Any other questions?
They're like, no.
And they're like, okay, here's a poll.
Did you get anything out of this training?
How good was this training?
Immediately.
Are you kidding me?
I'm sitting right here.
That's terrible.
Yeah.
At a point.
And then I was like,
they usually do that later on in the
corporate world I was in,
not publicly flog them right in front of
the presenter.
Right, right.
Usually you send out a survey following
and say, hey,
did you get anything out of this?
Blah, blah, blah.
But they asked like,
what are the chances of you using what
you just learned?
It's basically saying, hey,
did you find Scott likable at all?
No.
Then it was, was the training good?
did you get anything out of this training?
And I'm sitting there like,
you have to be shitting me.
Guys, I'm still here.
here oh or mark it um airbnb are
notorious for this now because not only
can you rate the airbnb the airbnb can
rate you as a person and like you
know how was your what how were you
as a as a somebody who stayed in
their house or or whatever and uh the
car one uh whose name's turo does it
does it too hey basically saying hey do
you give me a five-star review i'll give
you for a five-star review
Yeah, it's all a joke.
Should we use this information to fire Mr.
Schweitzer?
It kind of felt that way, Ken.
I'm not going to lie.
Right.
Like it took me back to grad school
and doing my like keynote, not keynote,
capstone presentation.
And then right after getting immediate
feedback from the professor.
While everybody's still in class and the
mic's on.
Watching me get flogged.
Sitting there telling you how shitty it
was.
I got a four or six out of
five stars.
But that son of a bitch that gave
me a three.
When I find out who you are...
Facebook marketplace will have you rate
the seller before you even picked up the
item.
That's DoorDash.
Hey, how was your meal?
I haven't even eaten it yet.
I don't know.
It hasn't gotten to my house yet.
Vlogging is not endorsed by the Clydesdale
podcast.
For the most part.
The most part.
It depends on the flogging,
if I'm being completely honest.
Nighttime activities is all about pay.
That private.
Whoever initiated that poll didn't sleep
at all in or have their third Z.
Amen, Joseph.
And you can have your third Z by
going to thirdz.com backslash jazzy.
Jazzy.
Get fifteen percent off your order or use
promo code Jazzy at checkout.
Get the best sleep and recovery tool in
the business.
Dude,
I took mine last night because I knew
doing this training I wasn't going to
sleep well.
And I was out like I was out
where like this morning I did not want
to get up.
That's outstanding.
I equate this to tipping while the waiter
is in front of you.
Let's see how good you were today.
And then looking at him,
like staring at him.
One dollar, two dollar.
It's kind of like a strip joint, right?
You're basically tipping right in front of
the dancer.
How good are you?
stop throwing nickels at her in my pocket
yeah you got change you got any change
i know they i know they discontinue into
pinning but this is all i got so
okay that's the best i mean tipping in
front of a waiter is the same thing
right or am i am i off no
that's that's pretty much same thing i
mean you you're you're
You're paying for a service at that point
or you're tipping for the service that you
received.
So, yeah, same thing.
Nicole's comment.
Yeah, that's fantastic.
Make it hail, baby.
Make it hail.
Instead of making it rain at the strip
club, hey, I got a roll of quarters.
Yeah.
look and i know we've talked about this
before i've been to i think three strip
clubs in my entire life but i would
i'm the dude i would come in there
no lie no i'm serious i've been to
like three i went my buddy shorty's uh
bachelor party we went right there in
baton rouge and some came try to talk
to us while we were sitting down and
i was just like every avenue she tried
i just kept shutting her down because i
had i don't i
It just doesn't interest me.
It never has.
Like the three times that I've been,
I've been with other people who dragged me
to it.
It's terrible.
Mark Phillips is the dude.
How about making it rain?
Not hail.
My guy.
Gifting five Clydesdale Media memberships
because he is the best.
He's an outstanding human being.
So if you're in the chat,
you may be one of the lucky ones
that gets a membership to the Clydesdale
Media membership.
channel uh and there'll probably be some
member only stuff coming out while i bet
wfp i'm gonna try to get some content
while i'm there of course it'll always
eventually be for the public but if you're
a member you get a little bit early
and you want to get it early because
it's going to be quality content just
throwing that out there
Yes, Ms.
Winter, Ms.
Trent Olive there.
It's like at a place where they say,
the screen is going to ask you a
question.
Oh, is it?
Let me turn this around for you so
you can sign it.
Yeah.
Bless.
Always triple the denial number is the
equivalent.
That's what I heard too, Ken.
You can try it all you want, dog.
My history speaks for itself.
It's never interested me.
It's all the buildup and no payoff.
No thanks.
I'm perfectly fine without that.
Strip clubs are so uncomfortable.
Yeah.
The
I think by design they're supposed to be
comfortable, but I mean, whatever.
Like for you to sit down and just
stay a while.
That's what they expect you to do.
One of the top five weirdest things
happened to me at a strip club.
Oh.
Like honest to God,
like I have not been to that many
strip clubs in my life.
Right.
I was in one for a twenty first
birthday.
And there was a stripper that apparently
was pregnant.
Oh.
And squirted.
stuff out of her bosom breast milk just
flying everywhere yep yeah thought that
was a cool trick to do on stage
so i think it's rule thirty four um
if you can imagine it it exists on
the internet and there's probably made
some sort of adult entertainment about it
i'm sure that's a thing i am sure
Anyway.
Hey, and look, let me tell you, Ed,
depending on the service, I also have...
Joseph, every strip club I've been in,
that is optional to you.
A hundred percent.
Whether you want to reach in and get
another dollar out for that,
that's on you.
Whether you want to reach in and just
eat some pocket jerky,
that's on you as well.
I'd probably go to Pocket Jerky first.
That's just me.
Ed's saying,
I have zero issues tapping no tip.
It depends on where I'm at and what
the service is.
But yeah, no, I don't.
I've only not tipped a waitress or waiter,
whatever, server, excuse me.
maybe twice in my life.
Cause I've,
I've done that job and I understand it.
Um,
but like there's sometimes where the
shit's just inexcusable.
Like if you just,
if I'm trying to do stuff and you
disappear for like an hour, sorry, you,
you weren't here.
Not doing that.
You know what?
I found the magic of tipping it.
So I was a bartender.
I was a bouncer.
I've worked in that industry.
Yep.
So it's really hard for me to not
tip.
Same.
But if my server takes care of my
kid like... ...thirty percent.
Oh yeah.
A hundred percent.
That's like the magic button.
If you're there with the kid and you
take care of the kid,
the parent is going to love you forever.
Yeah.
And especially young kids.
If you take care of my eight year
old and like make sure she's got the
stuff that she needs or whenever,
whenever she was younger, um, even,
even more so.
Yeah, absolutely.
You're going to get,
you're going to get taken care of.
Uh, Wayne says,
if we're both standing up when I,
when you take my order, no tip.
That is the weird thing though now, right?
When you have to go to a buffet
or you're up at the counter ordering off
the menu that is above their head,
there really is no reason to tip at
that point.
No.
If you're going to turn around and do
this...
If I'm participating in the service,
I'm not tipping you.
Yeah, I'm sorry,
but if you're just handing me my coffee,
probably not.
Probably not.
Yeah.
Given the mess my four kids make in
spite of my best efforts to keep things
tidy,
the waitstaff is going to get a good
tip from me as an apology,
if nothing else.
That's fair, right?
I mean,
you're feeling some type of way about the
fact that they're acting like children,
which is fine.
They should be, but yeah.
Yeah.
If I have to download an app to
look at the menu, no tip.
If you watch like Bar Rescue or Gordon
Ramsay,
that is the thing they hate the most.
Absolutely.
So my big pet peeve is don't bring
me a packet of salad dressing.
Fake me out.
Just squirt it into a solo cup.
Yeah.
Take it out of a jug.
I don't care if your hand make it,
just fool me.
You bring me out a bag of Ken's
dressing.
So one of my managers,
when I was waiting tables,
Twenty-something years ago,
told me one night, perception is reality,
especially if you are working the floor,
if you are bartending,
if you are waitstaff or whatnot.
Somebody sees you running around frazzled,
like they're going to think, okay,
they're getting bad service because you're
clearly, you're in the weeds,
you're running around frazzled.
Same thing with that kind of shit.
I don't know you didn't make this dressing
by hand unless you bring out a plastic
packet of it and sit it next to
my salad.
Yep.
Lie to me.
I won't ever know the difference and I'm
perfectly fine with it.
But the minute you bring me out a
packet, I feel like you don't care.
Yeah, absolutely.
Jay Burke or Birch asks,
should I tip a bartender for giving me
a beer?
It all depends on how that beer is
given to you.
Yep.
That is the key with tipping.
It's not about what you receive.
It's about how you receive it.
Correct.
If I order my flat white at the
coffee shop and somebody actually has to
turn around and make the foam,
all that good stuff, boom, yes,
you are going to get some sort of
tip.
But what it is,
I have absolutely no idea.
We're going to figure that part out as
we go because it's also going to depend
on how you hand it to me.
If you're handing it to me like this
because I am not the type of person
you expect to see in your coffee shop
that morning, then you can get fucked.
was tip etiquette on the docket uh
absolutely not mark no you're getting the
gist of this show now yep yeah there's
a lot of things that you can do
to just i think we all just want
to be fooled into thinking you give a
about serving me absolutely that's that's
The entire, in my opinion,
if you are good at what you do,
if you are a good server,
whether you're having a good day or a
bad day, nobody's ever going to know.
Because you're going to get there and
you're going to treat everybody the same,
no matter what else is going on.
You're going to smile through it,
even if they are complete assholes to you
the entire time.
Same thing when I was bartending,
bartending,
it's a little bit easier because, um,
then waiting on people and having to bring
them food and whatnot,
because you're just making drinks and,
and, and slinging beers.
And you can be a lot more personable
because they're right there in front of
you or, and they might walk away for,
for whatever reason.
Um,
when you have to keep going back to
somebody's table.
And they have all the questions and all
the problems.
That's a whole different thing.
I really don't have a problem tipping if
I get good service.
And it's the carrot that gets me that
good service because they know the better
they treat me,
the better I'm going to tip.
That is getting fair wages for what they
do.
Yeah, absolutely.
So...
I think it was Judy that said she
liked the dressing in the packet because
it's a proportion and she can see the
macros.
I don't want to live that life.
No.
Generally speaking, Judy,
I'm not going to a restaurant.
Let's say it's called a steakhouse because
I need to worry about my macros at
that point.
That's probably not a thing.
If I'm worried about my macros,
I'm going to the protein bar at Golden
Corral.
Okay.
They saddle up to the protein bowl and
get some of these hot wings.
Got to get my ninety grams of protein
in today.
I didn't eat this morning or lunch,
so I have my ninety grams of protein
in right now or one hundred and eighty
maybe because, you know, that's a thing.
Judy,
we don't need that negativity right now.
No, no, not at all.
Not at all.
That's good shit.
There's actually restaurants that their
salad dressing makes me want to go there.
There's an Italian joint in the town north
of me called Delaware,
probably really close to Judy.
And they make a champagne vinaigrette
salad dressing.
that i would go just for that dressing
and a good salad champagne okay champagne
champagne champagne vinaigrette that's
Interesting.
There's a couple places around here that
when we go,
I'm looking forward to the salad because
of their house dressing because it's the
one that they make.
There's a place in Thibodeau where I used
to live that had a hot bacon vinaigrette.
It was warm when it went on.
I've had that a lot.
So good.
It's like I was on a spinach salad
with...
Blue cheese and hot bacon vinaigrette.
It's fantastic.
It's funny because when I was a kid,
I loved creamy dressings like ranch,
blue cheese.
Everybody does.
Can't stand that shit now.
I'd much rather have a good vinaigrette on
my salad, like a light,
crisp vinaigrette than anything creamy.
I'd rather have blue cheese crumbles with
a good vinaigrette.
Yeah, I'll take that too.
Champagne and buffets are the glue to this
show.
At the buffet, baby.
I was at the breakfast buffet just Sunday.
So I got to tell you,
you know I hate reading.
I found out that Vicky hates math,
and she asked me, what is Corey's thing?
I'm like, well, obviously,
Corey hates English.
has destroyed the english language we're
just anti-education on this entire show
vicky vicky's like math is dumb scott's
like i'm not reading a book as long
as i live uh sema sizzles now scott
is just talking food porn i love me
a champagne vinaigrette champagne that's
fantastic
Are you still in Texas, Seema?
Do they do champagne vinaigrette in Texas?
Yeah, they do.
Yeah, they do.
One of the many things we did on
our little road trip over the weekend was
my wife, Siri,
how many Mexican restaurants were in
Houston?
Just Houston.
There you go.
If y'all didn't know,
Siri's right next to my microphone.
Oh, gosh.
Five million people in Houston,
one hundred and seventy six Mexican
restaurants.
Oh, we couldn't have planned that.
Oh, look, I got more.
I got more as well.
Yeah, well,
it's at a hundred and seventy six verse,
not seventy six.
We were set in Syria off all over
the world.
I love it.
Big fan.
Big fan.
Miller High Life, the champagne of beer.
Don't this is going to be one of
those shows where I'm going to get like
tickled and I can't stop laughing and
we're just have to end the show.
I'm at that.
Seema says, yeah, they do it in Austin,
or as I call it, Little California,
but I live in Colorado Springs now.
If you want good food,
Austin is one of the places to go.
That is like, dude, man,
some of the best restaurants I've ever
been to were in Austin.
Everybody tickles Scott.
Heidi's been back for one show,
and she's like,
let's kill Scott with tickling.
Let's do that.
Thanks, Heidi.
This Christmas,
get your Tickle Me Clydesdale.
That would be a bestseller.
That's a bestseller right there.
Now available on Amazon.
Tickle Me Clydesdale.
Did you see the last bits of yesterday's
Barbell Spin, Scott?
I did not.
No.
Wednesday is my complete rest day.
I coach in the morning,
do nothing in the evening,
but go hang out with the family.
I never get to watch them.
And...
Normally,
I watch them as I go to bed
at night.
And I had that training this morning,
so I was not awake for much.
Yeah, I bet.
No, I wouldn't.
I mean,
I enjoy it when I do get to
watch it.
You know, sometimes I'll catch it.
But I find out that there's something
interesting that they were talking about
or something that I want them to want
to listen to, you know,
what they had to say about it.
But I like those guys.
Yep.
I watch them every week.
I just didn't get to it last night.
Yep.
J-Y on a CrossFit downer.
It was interesting.
I get it, man.
There's a lot of things right now that
I'm...
i'm having trouble with in crossfit and
how much i even want to talk about
it anymore and that's why i love this
show because cory lets me just do whatever
the oh yeah no god lets me cory
cory says hey let's get a couple beers
and jump into this thing basically here's
the thing is that i'm
my sparkling personality and my sparkling
conversation skills i can i don't mind
talking about whatever like that doesn't
bother me am i mostly a you know
husband father crossfit athlete yeah sure
absolutely but we can talk about whatever
my interests are wide and varied unlike
doc's love of math which is non-existent
looking at you vicky
So I don't know what they talked about,
but this is what I'm going to say
about the CrossFit world right now.
Um, Jenna, how can I announce yesterday?
She's stepping down as director at
CrossFit September the ninth.
That's her dad.
That's her last day.
I reached out to her yesterday.
Um, she,
she's an awesome individual point blank
end of story.
Um,
she has been so crucial to this podcast
and this media company being taken
seriously at crossfit um and although i
didn't agree with every single thing she
did she took a media entity at crossfit
that was dead correct stale dead done
buried actually lifted it up to something
that was respectable
Yeah.
The content that they put out while she
was there went from, from, like you said,
right before she got there was,
it was dead.
It was buried.
Right.
There were flowers up.
People would come and pay their respects
to dead CrossFit media.
And then she absolutely resurrected it and
did a fantastic job.
I am,
I don't know why she's going obviously.
Um, but.
We're going to be worse off without her.
So this is the kind of person that
Jenna is.
Her response to me was that there are
good people still there.
They've worked very hard on a blueprint
for the future.
And it's her expectation that things are
going to get even better.
I hope so.
And good on her for having that,
that mindset, whatever,
whatever the reasons are.
It just, it sucks to see something that,
you know, that she's built, right.
Work so hard on and whatnot.
And all of a sudden, you know,
it's been two and a half years and
she's, she's out the door come next month.
So I hope to God,
whoever is going to be taking her place
does,
does right by her and does right by
CrossFit.
I really don't want to answer that
question right now.
Yeah, I don't think that's a...
I think this is about Jenna and the
job she did and not about who's going
to take her place.
She worked hard.
She cared.
She became a dedicated CrossFitter.
Can you say that about everybody that's
taken roles on a CrossFit?
No.
Not at all.
And yeah,
and with marks Phillips saying right
there, I'm just glad I'm excited.
Somebody actually has a plan over there.
Yeah.
She said they worked very hard on a
blueprint for the future.
Right.
And it was an it's her belief that
that blueprint will be carried out by the
people that are there.
I certainly hope so.
so i hope that whatever she does in
the future uh she enjoys and loves oh
yeah nothing but absolute respect and best
wishes for her whatever she whatever she
does going forward so she's gonna i'm sure
she's gonna shine wherever she's at good
on her yeah um i really really respect
her and like her a lot
And again,
while not everything was exactly how I
would have done it,
and I've been critical at times,
her efforts were never lacking.
Here's the thing,
and I think people lose this,
especially in today's day and age where
it's so...
accepted or trendy or whatever,
to just shit all over everything,
no matter what it is,
is that it's okay to not agree with
every single thing that somebody does and
still appreciate it when they do the
things that you do agree with.
That's okay.
We don't have to agree all the time
to be respectful and to be friendly to
each other and whatnot.
That's perfectly fine.
And people would lose that a whole lot.
And that annoys the hell of a living
crap out of me half the time.
Like,
do I enjoy or did I appreciate every
single thing she did?
Nope, sure didn't.
But did she do a damn good job
overall?
Absolutely she did.
And I think that goes for a whole
lot more stuff than just Jenna.
good luck to her and her future endeavors.
And I'm sure she's going to be successful
wherever she goes.
So that is awesome.
I did have one thing for you before
we leave,
and I got to get your opinion on
this.
So I wake up this morning with a
notice from ESPN.
Oh, that, uh,
Jaden Daniels has sent a cease and desist
to your beloved, uh,
Louisiana State University to stop using
his name, image,
and likeness because they are letting
another player wear his number five.
DJ Pickett, one of our star cornerbacks,
has number five.
Out of all the ridiculous things that I've
heard so far this week,
that is at the top of the list.
Is Dayton James a good quarterback?
Absolutely.
Did he, yeah, there you go.
Did he win the Heisman?
Yep, he absolutely did.
He hasn't even been gone from LSU long
enough for his number to be retired.
He hasn't been.
There's a certain amount of time that you
need to be gone before you can even
do that.
It's a number.
Grow up.
So what I heard on get up this
morning was that he's upset that Joe
Burrow's number is retired and not given
to anybody else,
but his is not who won a national
championship and went undefeated.
I'm trying to remember what that guy's
name was.
Was it Joe?
I think it was Joe.
Yeah.
I think it was Joe.
Yeah.
The Ohio kid that went down to LSU
and, uh,
had one of the greatest seasons in college
football history the greatest season
football season it's not even close um i
i don't i don't understand it here's the
thing dude while he was here everybody
loved jayden big fan right he he did
the best he could with what he had
yeah exactly
heidi has heard of joe burrow she has
never heard of this guy exactly um because
he had no defense and he had no
like it wasn't his fault right he did
the best he could to the extent that
they gave him the heisman trophy and he
well deserved it and earned it absolutely
he did but you didn't bring home the
natty dog like and it hasn't even again
Again,
hasn't been long enough that it's been
gone,
that you've been going to even warrant
talking about retiring your jersey.
Also,
college rosters are so ridiculously huge
that there are duplicate numbers on the
field.
Yep.
So even if your number gets retired,
somebody's still going to end up wearing
it.
One person on defense and one person on
offense can have the same number.
Correct.
There's only so many numbers that you can
put on a jersey before you start getting
into triple digits.
Because rosters are like ninety.
Yeah.
Last time I checked,
unless you wear a three-digit number,
there's only a hundred choices.
Because they allow zero.
Yep.
And you can go up to ninety-nine.
I've never seen, except for Chad Powers,
having a hundred and eleven as your
number.
It doesn't happen.
I saw that this morning as well.
And it's, again,
out of all the ridiculous things I've
seen, and it's only Thursday.
I think I know the answer to this.
Is it fair to say that LSU views
Joe Burrow as an iconic legend?
Absolutely.
And Jaden Daniels as a good player?
Yeah.
Joe also embraced us down here.
The walkout that he's got where he's got
the Burrow on the back of his jersey
with the EAUX instead of how it's
regularly spelled for senior night.
Nobody's ever done anything like that
before, right?
And that was his, hey, I love y'all.
I know y'all love me,
but I'm going to show y'all how much
I actually love y'all because they've been
doing that since he got here, right?
Because, oh, Burrow,
I would spell it the E-A-U-X, you know,
Cajun way or whatever.
Jaden was great.
Jaden was beloved while he was here.
But as soon as you get going and
you've been going for three years,
Two years?
Two, three years?
Something like that.
It ain't been real long.
And you come back and do something like
this,
a lot of love that people had for
you is no longer there.
I live in the home of Ohio State.
If you were an Ohio State football player,
you don't even have to be a star.
Just coming back and never shitting on
Ohio State,
you are beloved for the rest of your
life.
The number of professional NFL players
that were used to be Tigers that you
can find on the sidelines during a regular
season SEC game is absurd.
Because they all want to come back.
They all want to be in Tiger Stadium
on a Saturday night.
And they are allowed to just be down
there on the sidelines, most of them,
but like, you know,
before the game or whatnot.
But this cease and desist is a sure-fired
way to always have to buy your own
beverage and never be welcomed back in
your college town.
Or at the very least,
you're going to show back up and
everybody's going to be like,
what are you doing here?
I'm sorry,
did we not retire your number fast enough?
It's still not retired,
so why are you even here?
Here's my foot,
and I'm going to line up this shot
really, really,
really good so I can go ahead and
put a hole in it.
It's so dumb because, like,
Maurice Claret,
who was not an awesome person to Ohio
State when he was here,
went to the NFL, was a drunk,
pooped out quickly, came back,
said he was sorry, asked for forgiveness,
and that guy is on the sidelines now.
He's in commercials.
He's doing all the stuff.
Yeah.
Like...
If you play your cards right,
you never have to buy a dinner the
rest of your life.
True.
So, Stan, you're not the only person.
A lot of people are saying that that's
his mom doing that and not him
specifically.
Whether or not she's the one that's saying
it because she is his business manager or
even if she's just putting enough stuff in
his ear for him to agree with it
and then go ahead and do that.
But you signed an NIL deal.
however many years ago, I don't know.
Like, if I was LSU, I'd be like,
okay, so now we're going to double up.
Like,
we're going to have your face everywhere.
Because why wouldn't we at this point?
Yeah, I'm watching quarterback right now,
and Jaden Daniels is one of the
quarterbacks they're following for the
season.
And his mom is a ruthless businesswoman.
She is his agent.
She's owned, like, fifteen businesses.
And in the first episode, she says –
Someone accused her of wanting to get
Jaden's money, and she goes,
I don't need his money.
I got my own money.
Good for you, lady.
She's ruthless.
I just love people that say stuff like
that.
I don't need his money.
I got my own money.
All right, good.
You're also his agent,
which means that you're getting a
percentage of his money anyway.
So let's not pretend like you're not
getting paid just because you're his mom.
Let's not pretend that as a woman in
that business, you kind of have to be.
I'm not mad at her for that.
I wouldn't be mad at her for that.
I would, however,
blame her for stuff like this.
Because you came down here,
you transferred in from Arizona State,
right?
You played basically one season.
You got all the flowers.
You got a Heisman Trophy.
And now two years later,
three years later, whatever it is,
I think it's not his sophomore season in
the NFL now.
I think it might be his third year.
I don't remember.
All of a sudden,
you just come out with all of this.
Come on, dog.
Like, it ain't that serious.
It really, really ain't.
great players do not have to tell people
that they are great players man much wiser
than myself told me a long time ago
don't go to bragging on yourself because
as soon as you get good enough everybody
else is going to do it for you
you ain't got to and that that's that
that's what this that's what this screams
of um and i hate that i have
to clear this up every time there's not
a single person on the show that's a
buckeye fan no
Just because I live in Columbus does not
make me a Buckeye fan.
It is just here as a reference because
I witness it.
Yep.
Can't help but see it.
Right.
Can't help but see it.
It's a sixty five thousand student
university plop dag in the middle of.
Well, I just went LSU Tallahassee there.
Plop dag in the middle of Columbus, Ohio.
Next thing you know,
you'll be going to the buffet.
I used to have – I wish I
still had it somewhere – a meme that
had – it had to be from one
of the national championships that Ohio
lost against one random SEC team.
But they had the O-H-I-O in the stands,
and it was spelled wrong.
Yeah.
It was like they had the O,
then the I, then the H,
then the O. And it said,
Ohio State padding the SEC's bowl record
since two thousand and three.
And I was like, man,
I wish I still had that.
Yeah, it would not.
It would not be appropriate today.
Because the Big Ten has won three straight
national championships.
Yep.
Never mind the fact that how many SEC
won before that.
It's just people don't care about any of
that.
Well, it's now the NIL world,
and the Big Ten graduates make more money.
And so now they can put more back
into the football program,
and they can buy the best talent.
Yeah.
Indiana's a perfect example of that
because Mark Cuban's an Indiana grad.
Look who won the national championship.
Absolutely.
The fact that Texas or Texas A&M doesn't
have a billion dollar coffer just because
oil money is still mind-blowing to me.
It really, really doesn't.
Well, I mean, A&M...
A&M is relevant again because of the oil
money.
It hasn't been.
Yeah.
Right.
It hasn't been for quite some time,
I'm sure.
Yeah.
But you know where you can hear more
about this kind of stuff?
Oh.
Tuesday night sports show.
I'll tell you what,
nobody does segues like we do segues.
Yay, sports.
Every Tuesday night.
Sports.
At six p.m.
Eastern time, five p.m.
Central.
whatever the other time zones are.
And we've got Joseph there.
We've got Garrett Glinton there.
We've got nice graphic, Corey.
Just trying to help.
We've got Jeremy Eat World there in his
shitty Packers.
Mr. Jeremy Eat World.
but uh we have a fun it was
so much fun this week i i have
not had that much fun in a long
time it's good that's a good group dude
that's a good group i said i wish
i could have made it but unfortunately i
gotta well i'll say unfortunately i get to
train at that point at that time so
you gotta get back on the saddle
Did you see Anto Saka from Texas A&M?
Looks like he has a mortgage and three
kids.
No way is he is a college student.
Dude, somebody said,
where did they get this convict from?
He looks like he just got out of
prison.
He looks like he's thirty seven and is
like worried to death about his life.
Like I said,
like he's got a mortgage and he's got
trouble paying it.
Like he looks he's not he doesn't look
like he's twenty two and like fresh face
guy just coming in and coming into
college.
Not at all.
Daniel Arnson asks if it's the NFC North
sports podcast.
I don't even think we talked NFC North.
We talked drunk Tony Romo.
We talked clotheslines in a WNBA.
Drunk Tony Romo, a.k.a.
Tony Romo.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I don't think we even talked about the
NFC North.
y'all didn't while i was listening for
damn sure talk about yeah basic uh classic
freaking baseball at this point yep we
talked ozzy smith we talked yeah baseball
from the hall of fame yeah it was
it was a fun show man we were
all over the map kind of like this
show just wherever the wind took us we
went absolutely
Yeah.
Joseph said, you know,
it was a Steelers fan,
but that was about it.
Yeah.
Yeah.
And I mentioned why I wasn't a Steelers
fan.
I mean, so to be fair,
when I was growing up, we watched like,
yes, we watched the saints,
but we also watched a shit ton of
cowboys because that's what was on.
So like,
Cowboys were on.
We watched a whole bunch of Cowboys games.
I watched a whole lot of Dallas Cowboy
football when I was a kid.
It didn't make me a fan necessarily,
but I was way more aware of the
fact of Roger Staubach and like all of
those guys.
And then when they went on those runs
in the nineties,
you couldn't get away from it,
especially down here because Dallas is six
and a half hours from here.
It's not that far.
So we only got four channels.
And let's be true.
When we were kids,
there was only four channels.
If you got them all,
Yeah, so you got... PBS, CBS, NBC,
and ABC.
That was it.
You got what you got.
You got Mr.
Rogers and whatever they wanted to show
you on the other channels.
Yeah, more or less.
And back then,
you got a lot of Steelers and a
lot of Cowboys.
Yeah.
A lot of Raiders.
I see.
We didn't even get the Raiders.
We got the Cowboys.
We got the Saints.
How many Atlanta Braves games I've seen on
TV because of TBS?
Oh, yeah.
And Cubs on WGN when we got...
Cubs on WGN when we got WGN, yeah.
I didn't even know.
I was like,
why is this Chicago Superstation?
I was like, we're in South Louisiana.
Yep.
But I grew up outside of Pittsburgh,
and I defected from the Steelers,
and that's why I said why I wasn't,
not because I...
And my wife is still a diehard Steeler
fan,
so I have to watch every single game.
Every single one.
And they were so boring to watch last
year.
There's nothing worse than a forty two
year old quarterback that can only throw
the ball five yards at a time.
But Aaron Rodgers, but Aaron Rodgers.
Listen,
I didn't want them to lose because a
happy wife is a happy life,
but it was boring as hell to watch.
It's a bold choice for them to be
like, so Aaron, you still want to play?
And he's like, yeah,
you're forty three years old.
I was praying that he wouldn't come back
this year.
I just I wanted something.
I would rather have a young kid throwing
interceptions is more exciting than what
was going on last year.
Well,
at least it's something that it's check
down, check down, check down, check down,
check down, check down here.
And that's all it was last year.
It was so bad.
Oh, it could have been worse.
You could have been a jets fan and
watching, uh,
pull those hamstring on the first play of
the game two years ago, three years ago,
whatever that was.
Uh, it was like in the seventies,
every Sunday morning,
there was an Irish football show on ABC.
So every kid in Northern Minnesota was
like Catholic and football.
We became Irish fans.
So bad.
Yeah, I don't have that.
I refuse to talk about Notre Dame.
Listen, Joseph.
The one thing you cannot say about the
Bears is they were not interesting to
watch last year.
Seven fourth quarter comebacks.
Caleb Williams making throws that no human
being should be able to make.
They were fun to watch.
if you want more of this tuesday night
