McKay Vandenberg:

Today we'll be reading out of Psalms 133 as we continue our practice of daily reading Psalms. The passage, while short, says, How wonderful and pleasant it is when brothers live together in harmony. For harmony is as precious as the anointing oil that was poured over Aaron's head and ran down his beard and onto the border of his robe. Harmony is as refreshing as the dew from Mount Hermon that falls on the Mountains of Zion. And there the Lord has pronounced his blessing, even life everlasting.

McKay Vandenberg:

These short Psalms often have so much truth and wisdom packed into them as we reflect on one thirty three and just the idea of living in harmony with other people. Granted, harmony is not always easy to achieve that takes some actual work, but this Psalm gives us the reminder that there's God's blessing in harmony. When we seek to live a harmonious life with others, we ultimately live out the love that God has for us and for His people. So today, take a moment to reflect on what does it mean for you to live in harmony with others. I'm reflecting on what areas of my life do I need to find harmony, what areas do I need to apologize for in order to try to make harmony again?

McKay Vandenberg:

Let's pray. Heavenly Father, as we seek after this harmonious life, a life of reconciliation and forgiveness with others, Lord, help us to lead with humility. Help us to be aware of our own shortcomings as we seek after the ones that we need forgiveness and reconciliation with. Lord, you promise a blessed life by living a harmonious life. Lord, help us to be aware of the areas in our lives that we can do that today.

McKay Vandenberg:

In Jesus name we pray. Amen.
