Welcome to Tales of the Broken Realm, A multistory episodic Dungeons and Dragons Campaign. Where the Dungeon Master is changing once their story has been told, all within the same world. Sit back and enjoy this adventure.
Sam: Welcome everyone.
You would hear it outside.
The rain is hard, cold and constant.
It slicks stone streets and, and turns
into gutters black with ash one by one.
You guys arrive, uh,
down the, the elevator.
Your boots are heavy, damp, cloaks.
Your eyes are tired.
Who's the first to walk into the room?
Zac: Nobody wants to be first
roll for it.
I'm joking.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Dorian will be first.
Or Dor I feel like Dorian
would be already be there.
Like, um, okay.
Sam: Yeah.
Kaleb: So Dorian's sitting there,
Adam: is he a do
Sam: awesome.
What does, what does Dorian look like?
Kaleb: So, Dorian is a rock elf.
Um, he hails from Opal Keap, um, you
know, a whole towering three foot fi 3.5
feet.
So I mean, giant among men.
Um, he definitely is on the
younger side for rock gnomes.
Um, you know, he has adventured
quite a bit, so he does look worn.
Um, but you can still see that the,
like there's that youth in his eyes,
um, because he's, you know, and a
younger adult by rock gnomes standards.
Uh, he has, you know, brown,
just very basic brown hair.
Immaculately kept mustache,
facial hair is on point.
Um, but he is definitely sitting there.
He, um, loves to twi like,
uh, fidget with his gauntlet.
So he, uh, is an armor arter fister.
So he's always.
Using, he's always working on
something, always re reworking testing.
Nothing is ever complete.
So you always see his tools are out
and he's working on his gauntlets, his
armor, and he never really sits still.
He's always kind of moving.
Sam: Awesome.
Who's next?
Zac: Um, I guess Van
Drapen will be next.
Um,
Ravin is in the upper
of the five foot region.
He's like five foot 10
if I recollect properly.
He has black hair.
Um, he's got a hood up all black
armor, but you can see it's almost
like serpentine, uh, ish in a way.
And he has his head down.
But even while his head is down, you
can notice a faint glow from his eyes
and they are burning a bright green
and not just like a normal green.
This is like very fluorescent
green, almost like that's the only
noticeable thing, uh, about him.
And he walks very sternly with his head
down and his bow strung on his back.
Uh, and you can tell that he is
just wanting to be left alone.
It's already raining and, uh,
he doesn't really know why he is
here or why he wants to be here.
He's trying to figure it out.
Sam: And to top it all off,
your socks are soaking wet.
And so it's every step just soaking.
Zac: Yeah.
Yeah.
Sam: First,
okay.
Adam: Reaction.
Sam: Who's next?
Adam: Ladies first.
Grace: Okay.
Uh, had a.
Staggering.
Two foot nine.
Um, a familiar halfling saunters
in a bit of pep in her step.
Anya, you know, and love her.
Um, there's not much to
describe about her simple armor.
Um, her hair is pulled back and if, but I
guess if you could see it underneath her
col cloak, it has tinges of red from a
sloppy dye job probably several years ago.
And, um, I guess there's not much
point in describing the rest of her
because the cloak that she wears, her
cloak of Elvin kind is sort of shifts
and obscures her in the shadows.
Uh, so she'll just saunt her
in and find herself a seat.
Sam: Awesome.
And finally,
Adam: it's Matt.
All right.
Um, um, as y'all are sitting on the,
on the table, uh, you just get, uh,
a, a glimpse of a, a, a, a red, a
red cap walking up to the table.
You don't even see like who
it is going up to the table.
And then you just hear a, and then
you just, you, you see the most
grotesque muscle man of a gnome.
Uh, just, just imagine like bodybuilder
body on the size of a gnome at
like three foot on a good day.
Um, and he is just built to the max.
He's like Muscle Max the entire way.
Awesome.
And, and he's beautiful
and he's my creation.
Zac: Baby boy proud of you,
Sam: Great.
So you guys all walk in, you sit in your
appropriate seats across the table at
the very end, opposite of the doorway.
You guys came in.
Um, there's a man, uh, at a chalkboard
just kind of scratching things up and
as you guys come and sit in, he goes,
Zac: so you're omega seven
Sam: turns around.
Looks at you guys.
Yeah.
Thought they said better.
Oh, well you guys have been cleared
for the blackthorn division.
You've read the briefing, I
assume.
Yeah.
Yeah.
We have
Kaleb: everything this's
Sam: correct.
Kaleb: I read it.
Sam: So, you know, we
don't cut a lot of time.
Deviants are on the run here.
Whatever's going on in
that town, they want it.
And that can't happen.
Your mission is simple.
Go in, assess either retrieve
if necessary, put down.
As of right now, this is a
one way up until we know more.
Understood.
Zac: Yes.
Sam: Alright.
You guys have any, uh, questions
for me before I send you do?
Zac: Yeah, I have one question.
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Do we know what the
hell we're dealing with?
Sam: That is a good question.
We've sent several teams in.
So far no one's come out.
None since highly regarded
as you, as you all
I, we got intelligent this morning.
There was one person who made it back to
base camp a few nights ago, but from what
I can tell his recollection is fuzzy.
We'll send you to Base Camp.
What's
Kaleb: his name?
Sam: Jonathan.
Kaleb: It's Jonathan, not no last name,
Sam: Jonathan,
Kaleb: ah, at it.
Can, can we tell them John, John,
it, it's a little easier
to say than Jonathan.
Is it safe to assume?
Is it safe to assume?
Any questions we do ask?
You are going to be met with,
uh, VV Vagaries and misdirection
in, we have a spy organization.
Sam: He kinda like grabs from
underneath the desk and throws a
couple, uh, uh, notebooks onto your,
I kinda right in front of you guys.
He goes, well, fortunately I
don't have a lot of information.
Get to base camp.
They might have more info.
They'll definitely wanna recon
the place before going in.
Excellent.
Kaleb: If nobody has anything
else to say, I say we get on.
I would agree with that.
Sam: He, uh, he kind of tells you that
the, the head to the r and d lab, uh, this
is where you guys can pick out your one
rear item and anything else you might want
from my list, I'll send you right now.
Uh,
Zac: here.
Guess
goodies.
Sam: Let's go to party.
Dude, can I put it here?
Okay.
Formatting's gonna be kind of weird,
but let's, that is, list this.
Let's go.
Where'd you
Kaleb: drop it in?
Sam: Uh, loot.
Kaleb: Loot.
Okay.
Cool.
Loot.
It hadn't registered on my end yet.
Sam: Yeah, I just said it.
Kaleb: Ooh, ooh.
Lick this.
Sam: Um, he also can tosses
you guys each ascending stone.
Um, he says that the communication
in, in, in, in the town is difficult.
Something seems to be preventing
magical communication.
He's been augmented to hopefully
work better than last time.
But no guarantees.
Grace: This is quite the list.
Zac: So down for this.
Kaleb: Um,
Zac: this is dope.
Alright.
Yeah.
Oh, yes.
Sam: Uh, and the descriptions are there.
Otherwise fu DND beyond, you can
go and just add it there too.
Kaleb: Let's see.
Oh, it's two.
Okay.
It just hit me.
It's two columns of,
Sam: yeah.
Yeah.
It's, it's a, it's a, it's a
three column table with the, uh,
Kaleb: it's
Sam: like a roll table.
Kaleb: Ah, okay.
Cool.
Sam: Cool.
I was gonna make you roll for, I'm
like, that's more fun stuff than choose.
Zac: Okay.
I'm down.
Um, if all is well, I want the
slippers of spider climbing.
Adam: Oh, wonder why.
Zac: Shut up.
Adam.
Sam: Does he like to any Spider-Man?
Zac: No, I'm basically
trying to be Batman.
This run.
Kaleb: Um, Martha.
Um, Martha, uh, Martha.
Sorry.
Why'd you say that name?
Zac: It's his mother's name.
Kaleb: I says, oh God no.
I'm so sorry.
Um,
Sam: well, your best friends.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Now, now we are inseparable.
Um, if everybody el if nobody else wants
it, I would like the brooch of shielding.
Nobody else had their eye on that.
Zac: I don't think so.
Yeah, I think you're good.
Kaleb: Okay, cool.
Grace: I as well take
the gloves of thievery.
Feels appropriate.
Sam: It does sound
helpful for, for a road,
Grace: you know, I was thinking about
the cloak of protection, but I've already
got a cloak and I think layered be
kinda hot, so gotta pick something else.
Adam: Um, I'll take the
cloak of protection.
Kaleb: I mean, your boy's getting
a little cold there wearing
nothing but his leather straps.
Adam: Yeah, I mean, I mean, straight up.
Sam: How, how, how does the, how
does the cloak fit over Reginald?
When, when he tries to put it on his
muscles too, like bulging out of it or?
Adam: Oh yeah.
You definitely like reginald's, like pecs
are like the dividing factor of the cloak.
Like it doesn't rest over 'em.
It rests over his pecs.
Kaleb: Awesome.
Yeah, it's God.
Perfect.
Adam: Zach asked for this.
You can blame Zach.
Kaleb: No I didn't.
You can repeat what I said.
I failed to see how this
is a bad thing ever.
This is great.
Sam: Be awesome.
Adam: Alright.
Sam: Uh, everybody got your stuff?
Adam: We can only take one.
Sam: Yeah.
Adam: Okay.
Just wanted to ask.
Kaleb: I want
Sam: one of everything.
I mean, there, there is the,
the r and d keeper nearby.
You can go talk to him and
see if he'll give you more.
Adam: Sure.
I'll do that.
Sam: A little scientist dude.
Adam: Yeah.
Uh, Reggie gets off of, off of
his, uh, little high horse, uh,
baby chair that, that he's on.
Hi.
Zac: High chair.
Adam: It is a little high chair.
He, he, he saunters over to,
uh, the RD guy and he's like,
Sam: hello?
I looked up.
Hello?
Oh, you're down there.
Kaleb: Would you, uh, would
you, would you like a pastry?
Sam: I'm sorry.
Come again.
Kaleb: I was asking if
you wanted a pastry.
Sam: Oh.
Oh, I have another pastry.
Are they, are they vegan?
I'm vegan.
Kaleb: Oh.
Uh, wait, wait.
They're, they're made.
They're, they're made of blueberries.
Oh, I like your rice.
Yeah.
Would like a blueberry pastry?
Sure.
Adam: They're two little twinkle tarts.
Kaleb: Somehow worse.
Adam: Eddie.
Uh, he hands you a nice
little, uh, blueberry.
Uh, twinkle tart.
Sam: Oh, thank you.
Everyone have this
later on my lunch break.
Adam: What,
Kaleb: what, what you working on?
Sam: Oh, just some bits and bobs and,
Kaleb: yeah.
Yeah.
Well, well, mama cu about said
she works on bits and Bobs too.
Sam: Oh, does she?
Kaleb: Yeah.
She, she does, but
she's, that's fantastic.
Adam: I can't even, like, like when
I'm talking, I can't even like look at
the screen because y'all are all just
great.
Grace is mixed, like a whole connection
Sam: is, was there, was there
something I could do for you?
Kaleb: Seen, was seeing if you, if
you could, uh, uh, maybe perhaps,
uh, if, if you could so kindly, uh,
give, if you have anything to give me
Sam: Oh, um, quite right.
Yes.
Um, well, I see you've already
Kaleb: mama, mama authorized mama.
I, I shouldn't invite myself
to things, but hey, I'm really
trying to, to, to really, uh,
Sam: you know what, you know,
I'll, I'll stop you right there.
For some reason I like you
Kaleb: really kind.
Sam: I'm sure your mother
says you're quite special.
Indeed.
This is, once I looked the other
way, you can pick one other item
Kaleb: really way.
I should, I should say thank you.
Yes.
The,
Sam: yes.
You're welcome was quite enough.
Zac: Sam, kill his
character first, please.
Sam: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Zac: Like please kill his character first.
Sam: Don't set me up a good time.
You guys, you guys can always, you guys
can always get what you want, but I'll
make you dance for it a little bit.
Zac: I'm gonna shoot him in the
back of the head with an arrow.
That's what I'm gonna do.
Sam: Hey, accidents happen.
Zac: Accidents do
Adam: happen.
I'm gonna take the Pure
app of Wound Closure.
Sam: How happen?
Adam: Hurry up the
Zac: up of Wound Closure.
Sam: Is there anything else that
you guys wanna do here at, at, at hq
Adam: I did what I needed to do.
Zac: I think Van Raven's gonna
try to steal something from there.
Sam: Yeah, go for
Adam: It's Batman steals now.
Sam: Rome stealth.
Zac: He's he's an anti-hero.
He is not full Batman.
Sam: There's only, right now
there's only one of the dude
in, in the, in the r and d room.
'cause you got kinda left
around the corner to RDI
Zac: got a 21.
Sam: He got a You got a 13, so you
are, yeah, you're totally hidden.
Do you wanna slide a hand something?
Yeah,
Zac: yeah, yeah.
Roll for slide a hand now.
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Uh, I got a 13.
Sam: 13.
Um, you go to grab uh, something and
your hand slips just barely Rome.
A Dexter sa throat for this
thing not to fall on the ground.
Zac: Alright.
Sam: Whatever.
Whatever it is you wanna grab.
Zac: Oh, okay.
24.
Sam: 24.
Awesome.
Yeah.
So you like, you're hiding underneath
the, the, the, the bench there.
You kind of go up, you try to
grab something, it falls and
you just catch it real quick.
Zac: Peter Parker
Sam: and, uh, the, the,
the guy's not alerted.
Adam: Is he next to me?
Sam: Uh, yeah, I think he's
still kinda in that area by you.
Adam: Can I roll to see if I
notice that with the perception?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Zac: Is he gonna roll against me or,
Sam: uh, what was your stealth?
He was at the
Zac: 13.
Sam: Uh,
Zac: no, my stealth was a 21.
Sam: 21, sorry.
Yeah, so then it'll be the 21.
Adam: Okay.
Gimme one second.
Okay.
Alright.
I don't notice anything.
Sam: Awesome.
What is the, what is,
what is the rogue clock?
This, uh, sloppy pickpocket job?
Grace: Uh, well, that's it.
Guess my perception, um,
right now only got 13, so.
Sam: Oh, okay.
Grace: Although, point of order,
was it one of the things we picked
earlier and an additional item
from the list, or is it either or?
Sam: Yeah, so, so no, it's, it's,
it's whatever what the rare item you
sent me plus whatever is on here.
Adam: Okay.
So the rare item we sent you wasn't
our items that, that are in this list?
Sam: No, no.
It's in addition to.
Adam: Got it.
So these are extra rare
items that we're having
Sam: extra, yep.
Zac: Oh, shit.
So I've got my rare item.
Adam: No, no, no, no.
Yeah, sorry.
Oh, wait, we have a rear item,
or are we finding a rare item?
Sam: You get, you get the
rear item in addition to the
things that are on this list.
Adam: So, so my, my rare item, I won't
use it yet, but just, just, I just
wanna make sure we're good on that.
I will let let you look at the
item and say yes or no to it.
I just think it would be fun.
Sam: I think, I think I
see it in your inventory.
It's
Adam: the
Sam: thing
Adam: growing bright
Sam: gold.
We'll, definitely.
Yeah,
Adam: definitely
Sam: use that.
If you wanna bend reality, that's fine.
Adam: Sounds good.
Sam: Last time that happened, um, my
wizard almost died to several raids.
Adam: Last time it happened.
Our, um, our, uh, elf had chaotic good to,
uh, chaotic evil and became the empress.
Sam: That's not, let's
not spoil this for later.
Adam: Oh no.
I will say I am chaotic.
Good alignment.
So,
Sam: okay, you guys, um, wrap up.
Anything else you wanna do
here and then we are, I think,
get ready to hit the road.
Zac: Um,
Adam: what's he writing on the board?
I'm just curious.
Sam: Oh, uh, uh, the, the guy,
this, this, the r and d guy or the
dude in the, in the other room.
Adam: In the other room.
What's he writing?
Sam: Um, he's just writing down,
writing down notes of like,
other ops that he's putting on.
And, uh, you can, you can kind of look
at it if you wanna go check it out.
Adam: Sure.
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Adam: Awesome.
I'll, I'll go check it out.
Sam: Yep.
So he is still up there, um, got
his, got his, his chalk, it looks
like he's drawing up plans for, for
an assault on a, on a deviant base.
Adam: Hmm.
Sam: Like a few days from now.
Adam: Okay.
Sam: Kind of like football
coach style, like x's and o you
know, moving things around and
Adam: battle plans.
Sam: Yeah, for sure.
For sure.
Grace: There's a chess board.
It's a metaphor.
Yeah.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sam: Yep, yep.
Yep.
Hmm.
Adam: Okay, let's go.
Sam: Alright, you guys hit the road.
Hit the road.
You guys leave and I'll
let you decide what city.
This, this, where this HQ is placed in.
Um, but you guys leave.
It's still raining, still cold and damp.
You guys walk out to the edge
of the city and you see the
forest out in front of you.
Uh, gimme survival checks as
you guys enter the forest.
Adam: I think it would be nice to do
it as like tides will or something.
Sam: Yeah,
Zac: tides.
Well, I'm down with that
'cause it's raining.
Oceanic.
I'm cool with that
Adam: story.
Creator.
Sam: Tides.
Well,
Zac: I got a 19.
Adam: I got a 19.
Sam: Awesome.
19.
13.
13.
Kaleb: I got a one.
Adam: That tradition never changes
Sam: you guys.
Thankfully, uh, the half of you succeeded.
So nothing.
You guys are fine.
Now you guys proceed for
another hour, hour or two.
Gimme another set of survival checks.
Kaleb: Okay, different best this time.
Adam: An 18,
Zac: a 6
Grace: 15
Kaleb: 7.
Sam: Uh, Dorian,
Grace: bloody
Sam: gimme perception.
Kaleb: Oh God,
that is a 13.
Sam: 13.
You notice something.
The
Kaleb: right note.
Sam: Very, very brief.
This, it's the
Adam: left side of my ear
Sam: right now.
Adam: Black
Sam: ish object.
Moved right behind a tree and
seemed to disappear into it
Kaleb: when
Sam: he
Kaleb: does it.
Um.
So I just, did I see an
outline of it at all?
Like, or I just noticed
a large black Yeah, you
Sam: saw a large, a large object seemed
to be kind of covered in what you could
probably the best relate to is fur.
Uh, really large, like seven, eight
feet tall, disappeared behind a tree.
That's probably about this big.
Kaleb: Yeah, I'm gonna absolutely, I'm
gonna let everybody, am I the only one up?
Is this like me on watch?
Sam: Um, just, this is because you
had, uh, lowest survival, my friend.
Kaleb: Ooh.
Um, so I'm absolutely gonna
let everybody know that, hey,
um, he's gonna turn and go.
Um, it's just, I don't
mean to an nominee one.
Uh, I did just see a rather
nondescript black object or
beyond that tree over there.
Zac: Yeah.
Kaleb: And I'm gonna like, I'm
gonna say I, I don't mean, I don't
mean to sound intentionally vague.
Uh, it was a black object,
maybe had some fur.
I ca it was at the blink.
It literally in the corner by
could have been a bug bear.
It would not dis qualify a bug bear.
I will say it was rather large
or it could just be a regular bear.
Uh, I've never seen a
bear move that quick.
My friend and I would
be concerned if it was
what, what about a platypus bear?
Zac: No.
Listen, listen.
I think he's onto something.
Bears don't move that fast.
What do you think?
Little one?
Kaleb: There's a big fur.
Grace: It would be literally any of us.
Kaleb: That little one, meaning
Grace: gr character.
Kaleb: Character was gonna get some input.
You notice this?
We are all small staffing.
You are?
I'm the
only
Zac: normal sized one.
Kaleb: You're,
you're
literally Danoff, right?
Sam: This is my Squire Shire.
Squire Hobbit.
Um, everyone else gimme perception checks
Kaleb: as well.
Not 20.
Sam: Yeah, not 20.
Adam: Uh, 31.
Sam: 31,
Adam: 32.
Oh, hang on.
2023.
23.
I have a plus forward of perception.
You
Sam: all, you guys all, uh, Jordan,
what'd you get for perception?
Kaleb: Sorry.
Uh, burning this dice.
I got another one.
Um, got a one
Sam: a want.
Okay.
So you don't notice this?
Um,
Kaleb: no, I don't.
Sam: And all of you guys see the
pretty much, almost exactly what,
what Dorian just described, this large
kind of hulking, uh, black object
shoots from one, from, from behind
one tree and darts into another.
Uh, what?
You don't know if Dorian
would caught onto it?
It appeared behind a different
tree than it went into.
Zac: Okay.
Um,
Kaleb: a teleport bear.
Zac: Um,
Sam: um, can every, can
everyone enroll me a D six?
Zac: Yeah.
Kaleb: Oh, it could be a drop
Adam: bear.
Sam: Hang on, hang on to it.
Zac: Oh, shit.
Okay.
Adam: Order.
I'm rolling.
Zac: D six
Adam: a.
D six.
Zac: Not happy with that, but, okay.
Adam: A six.
Zac: Yep.
Six.
Sam: I got a four.
Four.
Zac: Yep.
Adam: Is higher or lower?
Worse.
Sam: Just, just, just,
just hang on to it for now.
Zac: Ah, dog.
Okay.
Adam: I'll hang on to it for now.
Sam: What are you guys doing?
Adam: I don't have mini
pockets in this leather belt.
Zac: And here's what I've got.
Can um, RA, can he try to,
uh, shoot this object with his
short bow like this creature?
Sam: Absolutely can.
You're gonna need to, uh, roll
out perception to kind of find
out where it is, because right now
it's hidden, um, behind the, the
Zac: 17th
Sam: 17.
Um, you do catch, um, it's
almost every couple seconds.
Do you see anything?
Kind of move from one tree to the next.
I'm gonna let you make an attack rule as,
as it moves from one tree into the next.
Adam: It's definitely a drop bear.
Zac: I got an 11.
Sam: An 11.
Um,
Adam: those koalas will
come out and get you any
Sam: kind.
You, um, you'll, uh, you not, you're
not your, you said an arrow, right?
Zac: Yeah.
Short bow arrow.
Sam: Short bow.
You draw your short bow back and it
flies and it just barely grazes this
thing as it jumps into another tree.
Zac: Okay.
Damn.
Okay.
It's fast.
I'm gonna say this isn't human.
Kaleb: Well, obviously it has fear.
Uh,
Zac: okay.
I think we should keep moving.
Kaleb: I would absolutely agree.
Zac: All right, keep moving.
I'll keep watch.
Sam: Okay.
Awesome.
You guys keep moving.
Uh, Rome me survival checks as
you guys try to leave this area.
Kaleb: 18
Adam: 15,
Sam: 15.
Grace: 14.
Sam: 14.
Adam: Oh.
Kaleb: Do this to me
Adam: higher than a 10.
That's true.
Sam: What'd you get?
Kaleb: I got a 12.
A
Sam: 12?
Okay.
Kaleb: Okay.
There you go.
Sam: Good.
I starting to panic.
Um, I panicked too.
You got, you got you guys.
Continue on.
Um, who's, who's taking,
who's taking up the rear,
Zac: uh,
Sam: that van.
Got
Grace: it.
Zac: Yeah.
I'll, I'll, I'll cover back since
they're all smaller than me, so, okay.
Let me, let me get a recap on names.
So we've got Reginald, we've got
Kaleb: name's.
Reggie.
Zac: Okay.
Yes.
We've got Reggie.
We've got, um, Dorian, and then Grace
reminding your character's name.
Aa, Anya.
That's right.
That's right.
She's from the first one.
Okay.
Okay.
Grace: Oh, you should though.
Come on.
Zac: Yeah, yeah.
I know.
I'm bad with names.
It makes me like two or three times.
Yeah.
Henry, come
Adam: on Henry.
God,
Zac: Henry was left behind.
Okay.
Um, that was, but
Kaleb: hey, that was also Greg's fault.
Zac: Yeah, that's fair.
Draven, uh, van Raven's gonna sit
in the back and he's gonna watch
over 'em and they're gonna lead.
So Yeah.
Sam: Perfect.
Awesome.
Do you guys continue to walk, walk,
um, further, deeper to the forest?
Uh, van, gimme a quick reception check
as you guys are on your way leaving.
Zac: 17.
Sam: 17.
Perfect.
You can tell whatever, whatever it was is
back from where you guys are came from.
So it's, it's not, uh, currently near you.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: So you guys can, can continue.
Okay.
Um, you guys walk for a little bit and
you see this small caravan, um, about
a hundred yards out, kind of coming
towards you with a bunch of little folk.
From what you can tell from that far away.
Grace: Let's go.
Kaleb: That's right.
One feel of little people.
Let's get it.
Zac: Uh, okay.
I'm gonna let y'all lead this one.
'cause D Draven, I think's
just gonna lower his head.
Try not to show his eyes
or his face or anything.
Grace: Hate to bring it to you, but
lowering your head kind of does the
opposite of what you're intending
to 'cause anyway, it's fine.
Zac: He's just gonna look at the sky, man.
Okay.
Kaleb: Alright.
My friend that is seeing as you
all are by far the tallest in the
vicinity, it's going to be hot.
Alright.
Look,
Zac: I I, I didn't, I didn't realize it.
I'm sorry.
Kaleb: Okay.
Um, Sam, do we notice when
you say little folk, it kind
of a mixture of like's known?
Sam: It's, it's a, you, as you get
closer, you kind of see there's,
there's halflings, there's some
goblins, there's some gnomes.
Kaleb: Okay.
I'm just not gonna dig into that one.
It's
Zac: a couple
Kaleb: of sacks there.
Um, do we, do we notice anybody, like
what, I guess what are they doing?
Are they just kind of like hanging out?
Are they like doing something specific?
Sam: Yeah, it looks like they're
coming kind of down the main, uh,
road that you guys are currently on.
They got a, they got a, um, like a
horse drawn carriage, kind of like think
old pioneer style, um, tent over it.
Okay.
Yeah.
Excellent.
Yeah.
Cool.
Kaleb: Cool.
Um, Gordon's gonna turn around.
Just do we, we let these folks pass or do
we attempt to, are we like on the road?
Like could they see us and
we see them kinda situation?
Or are we like off inside?
Um,
Sam: I'll let you guys, I'll, I'll
let you decide whether you're on
the road or kind of in the woods.
Zac: I'm gonna say, let's go
off to the side of the road.
Yeah.
And let's, we're, we're, we're
on like a SEAL Team six mission.
This needs to be co-op.
We, we don't need to draw attention.
Just pass.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Sounds
Sam: good.
That's, yeah.
Zac: Yeah.
I'm gonna say stick to yourselves.
Sam: Perfect.
Um, go ahead and gimme
some stealth checks.
You guys kind of try
to hide to the forest.
Zac: Ooh, 25
Adam: an eight.
Kaleb: An eight.
That is, uh, 15.
Awesome.
Adam: My pecs can't be hidden.
Zac: No, it's, Reggie can't shut up.
He's just talking about
patience the whole time.
Reggie.
Kaleb: Hey, I'm
Zac: begging you.
Kaleb: There's blueberry, the
strawberries, this raspberry.
Reggie.
I will personally eat every single
type of pastry you can make.
If you will just be quiet please.
Sam: Okay.
As you guys are arguing, you, you see for
a split second, as the caravan passes,
one of the little goblins kind of like
looks over your, kinda sequin his eyes.
He kinda hold his hand up like this,
like, hold on and like listens.
Uh, roll me another stealth check.
Uh, with disadvantage everyone.
Adam: Oh, shit.
Sam: Can't be talking in the bush.
That's not
Adam: bad.
I got 8, 18, 14.
That,
Sam: so you got a beat.
A five.
Kaleb: That's a 12
Sam: to five.
Awesome.
Awesome.
So yeah, you guys are totally hidden.
And the scalpel one kind of squints
must be nothing.
All right, let's keep going.
And they, uh, go.
Then you down onto the road.
Kaleb: Sham.
Sam: Is that
Kaleb: you?
Grace: Wait, what?
Sam: Little artificer
Kaleb: exactly.
Tinker,
Sam: uh, yep.
Um, about
Grace: to mention, because I was
looking something up, but on that first
stealth check I got a Nat 20, I'm gone.
Sam: You're, you're not even here.
You're not even here.
You're, you have the, you're invisible.
That's what you are.
Um, that's
Kaleb: old.
Sam: Uh, yes.
They, they're, they just kind
of continue down the road.
Um, they get a few paces away where
you kind of feel like it's safe to kind
of come out and continue on your way.
Zac: Okay.
Good job crew.
We gotta keep going.
Sam: Um, who's van?
You still in the back?
Zac: Yeah, still in the back.
Sam: Awesome.
Uh, gimme a quick perception
as you guys walk out.
Walk out of this area
Zac: that is a 28
Sam: man.
You, uh, kind of pee like, kind of
peer behind you check your six and
you see just like a flash that's gone.
The, the caravan just like immediately
gets like body slammed by whatever
thing you just left and the caravan's
completely obliterated behind you.
Zac: Holy shit.
Okay, I'm gonna look at them and
I'm gonna say we've gotta move now.
You've got to start running now.
Reggie.
I will literally shoot you.
Run
Kaleb: Reggie.
Reggie, we've got go.
We've got go.
Can
I have back?
Can grab.
Sam: Okay.
I'll
Zac: carry
Sam: Reggie.
Yeah, you guys we're gonna do,
we're gonna do a little, little,
uh, little chase sequence here.
Um, everyone roll me
initiative real quick.
Zac: That is the 28.
Sam: 28.
Let's, I'm also gonna ask
if someone can keep track of
initiative for me, that'd be great.
I'll give you, uh, a d
eight of inspiration for it.
Kaleb: That's a 19.
Zac: Who wants to keep track?
I'll keep track.
I got it.
Kaleb: Yes.
Sam: Okay, perfect.
Take a D eight of
inspiration for that, please.
Zac: Okay.
You want me to roll now or just hold it?
Sam: Uh, you can hang on
to the D eight if you want.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: Whenever you want.
Adam: Um, 21 initiative.
Sam: 21.
Awesome.
Kaleb: Back.
Do you have everybody's?
Zac: Yeah.
Hold up.
Give me one second.
My computer's.
Okay, so it's gonna be me,
Gracie, what'd you get?
Adam?
Adam: 21.
Zac: Okay.
And Kevin?
Adam: But, um, if y'all want
to replace initiative roles
with me going first, you can.
I have that alerts, I have alert feature
Sam: alerts.
So good.
Kaleb: Ooh.
Oh, and then, uh, Zach, I got a, uh, 19.
Adam: So Zach, if you want
me to go first, I can.
Zac: Yeah.
So what I'm gonna do is I'm gonna keep,
uh, let's do this right now.
I've got it.
We'll do Adam, grace, me and Kevin.
Sam: Perfect.
Um,
Adam: who's Kevin?
Kaleb: Something
Adam: I was gonna ask
you if are, do you mean
Zac: Caleb?
Caleb.
Caleb.
Sorry dude.
Sorry, sorry, sorry.
I've talked to Kevin like three times.
Sorry.
I'm so sorry.
Kaleb: You're, I Is it bad
that I didn't even register it?
Zac: No, no.
I think you did catch it the
first time and you, you kind of
went and I was like, ah, my bad.
My bad, my bad.
All right,
Sam: good.
Awesome.
Um, something else, uh, rolled
the 22 for their initiative.
Zac: Okay.
So that's gonna be between
Adam, grace, me and Caleb.
Sam: Wonderful.
Adam: Or Reggie, Anya.
Dorian,
Zac: Reggie, Andra.
Dorian and
Adam: Van.
Zac: Well, van and Dorian.
Yeah.
Sam: Yep.
Yep.
Okay.
Who's, who's, who's, who's the top?
Adam: Me.
Zac: Alright, Adam.
Sam: Alright, Adam, let's,
Adam: alright.
Is this like skill-based running, or like,
how, how do you, how is this working?
Sam: So you guys, you guys can, um,
I have, I have a, a blank check rule.
Whatever you wanna do, tell me what
you wanna do and we will kind of
say what check we're going to use
Adam: for that.
Okay.
So we're just, your goal right
Sam: now is just to get out of there,
Adam: just run wherever you are.
Just run.
Um, I'm going to, uh, run my distance of,
of um, what is my distance of running?
It should be somewhere.
Where is it?
About 40 feet forward.
Um, I'm gonna cast minor
illusion and Perfect.
I'm going to make a, um, almost
like a, just a crying streak
off into the woods to the right.
Sam: Oh, perfect.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Wonderful.
So you cast it, and you can see this
guys here out of the, the left side,
this huge, like banse style streak,
Adam: I'm guessing.
Yeah.
Almost like a her animal kind of streak.
Sam: Hermo.
Adam: Yeah.
Sam: Don't hurt me.
Grace: Kinda hurt animals.
Zac: Old move cotton.
Sam: The, the vegan RD
guy would disapprove.
Aw.
All right.
Who's next?
You feel to disapprove?
Zac: Um, that is going to, to be, yep.
Grace.
Sam: Perfect.
Grace: Great.
Uh, can we see this thing
that's attempting, uh, I'll
Sam: let you, um, roll perception
as your action to kind of study.
Grace: Uh, that's a 30 20.
Sam: Perfect.
Yeah.
You do see it, it is still
quite a bit, uh, behind you.
You probably have one, one round
before it starts to chase after you.
Grace: Okay, great.
Whatever it is behind you.
Action.
I still have my bonus action.
Kaleb: Mm-hmm.
Grace: Great.
Then I'm gonna try to do insightful
fighting, so it'll need to rule,
uh, deception against my insight.
Okay.
That will give me autos sneak attack.
Sam: It,
Grace: it
Sam: is still pretty far from
you if you, you're gonna hit it.
Grace: Uh, this is just a bonus action
thing that will help me eventually.
Oh, got it.
But got, I think I can do,
since that was my action.
Sam: He got a 13.
Grace: Okay.
I'll be
Sam: right back.
Grace: Uh, I will, I got a 15 on the guy.
Perfect.
Definitely.
Yeah.
It's like 23.
Yeah.
Sam: Yep.
Awesome.
Grace: So great.
I'll automatically get
snake attacked then.
Sam: Wonderful.
Okay.
Anything, anything else you wanna do,
Grace: run,
Sam: run for?
Grace: Okay, great.
And
Sam: you
Grace: About 25 feet.
'cause my legs are so tiny.
Yeah.
But, uh, yeah,
Kaleb: this perfect, perfect.
Adam: Hey, I have 40 feet of
Grace: running.
We are not built for running.
Kaleb: Yeah.
No.
These legs are
Adam: I my legs.
Many
Kaleb: dangerous short distances.
Adam: My legs are trained for short
distance running and 40 feet to be exact
calfs are like thick, like,
Kaleb: like tree trucks,
three trunk maybe over here.
Yeah.
Adam: You just, you just see the, the
muscle mass of him just force Gump
running with his arms to the side.
Sam: The Forest Gump meets Tom Cruise.
Zac: Okay, I'm back.
Kaleb: It's
Sam: your
Kaleb: turn.
Okay.
Zac: Now I think the
creature actually goes
Kaleb: Yeah,
Zac: because creature goes,
Sam: so you still kinda hear
it and I'm off in the distance.
Um, it's, it's, it's between finishing its
current meal and investigating the sound,
uh, that, that, that Reggie, uh, did.
Um, it's just gonna take
its turn doing that.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: With no gain movement.
Zac: Okay.
So Van Draven can, let me ask you this.
Can he see it without having to proceed?
Because it's stopping to look at the mill?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
I'd say for like, there's like
a, a couple seconds where you
can, uh, you definitely see it.
Zac: Okay.
Um, I,
Sam: you see, it's, uh, it's as it's
looking and eating, it's, it's it's meal.
It's like jaw kind of unhinges and
kind of like opens up like this as
it just like starts to chomp down on
Adam: those poor travelers.
Zac: Okay.
Um, I am going to try to do
an ensnaring strike on it.
Sam: Okay.
Zac: Um, so basically the creature has
to, it's, it's considered a bonus action.
So I guess I need to make a regular attack
roll and then do the snaring strike.
Sam: Okay.
Zac: Sure.
Is that cool?
Sam: Yep.
Cool with
Zac: me.
Okay.
Alright.
So the attack roll is a 12,
Sam: uh, acs.
A 15.
Yeah.
This doesn't work.
Not gonna do it.
Zac: Okay.
Well I get two attacks per action.
So does, can I try it again?
Sam: Yeah, please.
Zac: That is a 31 and that
20 plus level that definitely
Sam: hits.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: Yep.
Zac: So I'm gonna roll for damage and
that is a 10 on damage plus I'm going
to add my Colossus slayer onto it,
which gives me an additional 1D eight.
Sam: Awesome.
Zac: And that is a five.
So that's 15 damage.
And then as a bonus action, I'm
going to do in Staring Strike.
Sam: Wonderful.
Zac: Which, go ahead and roll a
strength saving throw, uh, for me.
And would you I will say, um,
just 'cause I like to play it.
Fair.
Yep.
Is this a large or larger creature?
Sam: It is large.
Zac: You will have
advantage, so go for it.
Sam: Okay, perfect.
Thank you for that.
I appreciate the honesty.
Zac: Mm-hmm.
Sam: Oh, that's three and that's a one.
So no, not gonna happen.
Zac: Okay, so you'll take an
additional 1D six, which is six.
So 21 damage and the creature.
Has the condition of do, do, do, do, do.
Restrained, which means it cannot
Sam: move.
Awesome.
Wonderful.
This thing cannot move.
Um, love it.
Perfect.
Anything else you'd like to do?
Zac: Uh, that will be it my friend.
Sam: Alright.
Zac: That's all my actions.
Sam: Alright.
Dorian, I believe it's your turn.
Kaleb: Um, just so I can make
sure, are we trying to fight
this thing or get away from it?
Zac: Get away.
Kaleb: Get away.
Okay.
I was in
Zac: snaring just to fucking, you
Kaleb: know.
Yeah, I was gonna say, uh, I don't have
anything that can further mess with this
thing, so I am going to just start pumping
these little eggs and on my full 25 feet.
Sam: Yeah.
You want, do you wanna
dash with your action?
Kaleb: Yeah, actually let's go ahead.
Dash.
So put as much distance as I can and
actually I say that, um, I had, I
had, while we were on the trip, I had
switched, I tinkered my armor into
infiltration so I have an additional five.
So I'm actually running a full 60.
Sam: Wonderful.
You just see this little
numbers full past everybody.
Awesome.
Alright.
We're at top of initiative.
Adam: Back to me.
Sam: Yep.
Adam: Hmm.
Sam: I would say run.
Adam: Yeah.
I mean I could just run my 80 feet.
Nothing's really happening.
Doesn't need to do at this point.
Sam: Okay.
Awesome.
You dash and you run.
Adam: Yep.
Kaleb: That's the work.
Did your legs sw?
Zac: Alright.
Who's next?
B Grace, I believe.
Yep.
Yep.
Grace: Okay.
Oh.
I am not gonna get very far
anyway, so I might as well
take some shots while I'm here.
So, uh, I'll uh, it, uh,
twice with my short bow.
Sam: Perfect.
Grace: Which is, and since it's
a strained advantage, right?
Mm-hmm.
Sweet.
Oh my gosh.
Another na 20.
I swear guys, this never happened.
Zac: You're recording all
Grace: that?
Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Okay, great.
Uh, I'll just roll it.
Check.
You guys aren't gonna believe this
Zac: right here.
Grace: Okay.
This dice is taking a break,
otherwise I'm gonna get accused of
cheating, but that's another not 20.
I don't know what's happening.
Usually I roll like absolute
garbage during combat.
Um, this is amazing.
Okay.
If it makes you feel any better,
it's a arranged attack, so I
can't stack divine smite on it.
So
Kaleb: I do get snake attack.
Zac: Yeah.
Kaleb: Um,
my gosh, my brain has stopped working.
Grace: Okay.
That
Kaleb: okay?
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Okay.
Grace: So, um,
well Christian, did we decide a
rule for how we do crit damage?
Sam: Um,
Grace: I don't think
I've gotten a crit yet.
Adam: I think it's in the rules.
I think it's in the rules on,
Sam: is
Adam: it
Sam: story is the mac max damage on one
one set of rules and then rule the next.
So you basically are guaranteed
one max damage on one dye and on
the crit you rule again, right?
Yeah, that works for me.
Adam: Yep.
Grace: Wait, say that again.
Sam: So lets say you do sneak attack max.
Damage max.
So max damage on basically.
One attack of the crit and
then you roll the second one.
So instead of doubling the
dice, you'll take half the dice.
Adam: Uh, it says, um, it's crunchy
crits the bonus dice granted by
a critical hit or not rolled, but
automatically deal the maximum damage.
Yeah,
Sam: there it's
Grace: okay.
So if I would normally roll Jesus.
Five D six.
Adam: Yeah.
Grace: Or sneak attack must normal.
Adam: So you get the, you get the max.
Yes,
it's
Sam: 10, 10 D six, but five D.
But you'll get uh, what's that, 35?
Adam: Mm-hmm.
Sam: Cri damage on top of your five D six.
Grace: Holy
Sam: shit.
What
Grace: doing
Adam: crunchy crits
Grace: with?
With pack with two crits.
That's 70 right off the bat.
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Uhhuh.
Adam: Damn.
Let's
Sam: just automatic and
then roll your second.
Uh, what then is 10 D six
or something like that?
Look, we're killing Sam's B,
BG right off the bat, guys.
Oh, you're not gonna kill
this thing, I promise.
Grace: Okay.
So 70 plus 12 on the first one and
Kaleb: when audio gets
her arm just ripped off
Grace: 11 on the second one.
I know putting is big
old target on my back.
Um, the 1211, so,
Kaleb: oh Lord,
Grace: 23.
So 93 damage
Sam: total nine three damage
Grace: uhhuh.
Okay.
That's respecting variety.
Adam: And then you run 25 feet.
Yeah.
Sam: Oh, book it.
Awesome.
What does it look like as, as you
do two crits on, on this thing?
Grace: Um, it's like a full, like
legless moment of like the, the cloak
just swooshes perfectly and the wind as
she draws back and leaps from the card.
Cute fires off two perfect shots and they,
I guess, explode or something when they
um,
Kaleb: yes.
Grace: And it's Oh,
Kaleb: I love it.
Grace: Yeah.
And she just takes a moment to
kind of be like, oh, thank Bahamas.
Okay.
Time to go.
That's one.
Angry something.
Alright, someone carry me, please.
I can't run very fast.
I'll just start booking it.
Zac: Yeah.
I think Van vin's gonna say, take my hand.
That was impressive.
And he's gonna
Grace: like drag it along.
Zac: Yes.
He's gonna throw her up
on the back and Awesome.
Run straight.
Keep going.
Hang on.
Grace: This is the best day of my life.
That, Ugh Guys.
You don't understand how much I am
haunted by bad rolls during my life.
That's
Zac: insane
Kaleb: amount.
That's awesome.
That's phenomenal.
That's grace.
That's, yes.
Sam: Here's the best thing.
It's not dead yet.
Grace: I figured.
Kaleb: Why would it
Zac: be?
It's its turn.
I mean, but technically it has to make a
a so it's gonna make it athletics check
to get out of the in stared or, all
Sam: right.
Athletics.
Zac: Yeah.
Sam: Um, it has a plus
five to its strength.
So where it's gonna roll.
Zac: Yep.
Kaleb: Um, that's a 17.
Zac: That would break out.
Sam: Awesome.
So this thing just like with one,
like, it like stiffens every muscle
in his body and it just breaks out
of your, outta your spell and just
dips behind, um, one of the trees.
What, um, what'd you guys roll into?
D six.
Adam: A six.
A six.
A four.
Sam: Um, almost like instantly.
As it disappears behind that tree, it
reappears right behind the two of you.
Uh, doesn't have an attack, but
it's just gonna stand right there.
Adam: The two
Sam: of who, you guys
Kaleb: the two?
Yeah.
Which one?
Which two?
Sam: Oh, Hoover rolled a six.
Grace: Assume
Adam: so, but I'm like 80
feet away from, from Van.
Sam: Awesome.
Then, uh, I'll let you decide.
That's all.
You big boy.
You got all that?
Kaleb: You got this dude.
Sam: Alright Reggie.
Bye buddy.
Alright.
Adam: Technically, I'm technically
I'm the furthest away from Yep.
From it.
So now, now are we, or now
are we running the other way?
Sam: Nope.
You're just gonna take all the heat.
Adam: All right.
Bring it.
Sam: Let's go.
You guys.
You guys made it mad.
It probably would've left you alone.
That's true.
Yeah.
Adam: Yeah.
Blame y'all.
Kaleb: We never said we were smart.
Adam: Blame y'all.
Alright, it's, uh, top of the order or,
Sam: uh, no, his Dorian, right?
Adam: Dorian's Stern.
Yeah.
It's Dorian,
Sam: this thing's gone,
Adam: this thing's in
front of you now, Dorian.
Sam: No,
Kaleb: yeah, no, I, I noticed that, um,
I'm going to, has it, has it noticed me
or is it just fully honed in on Reggie?
Sam: Um, right now it's, uh,
Adam: Reggie's,
Sam: it's kinda locked up
on, on Reggie right now.
Kaleb: Okay, cool.
Um, so just so I know, it's
Reggie Monster, van Anya and me.
Zac: Mm-hmm.
Kaleb: It's kind of in the
like, order of the people.
Okay.
Well I
Zac: grabbed, I grabbed
Anya so she's on my back.
Yeah, yeah.
Sam: In the back.
Kaleb: Um,
Sam: so I guess,
Kaleb: yeah, it's between just
Sam: Reggie.
Ga Dorian.
Kaleb: I'm gonna fully like, try to
put myself behind a tree or something
just 'cause I don't, I don desperately
don't want this thing to see me.
Yeah.
Let me go ahead.
I'm just gonna roll stealth, roll stealth.
That's I.
Yeah, that's a one
dude.
Hey, that's what you get
Adam: for abandoning
Kaleb: the girl.
Sam: It did, it did roll in that
20 on its perception, contested
your, so he kinda like, as you move
it just, it immediately just kinda
like, looks at you and clocks you.
Um,
Kaleb: goodness.
Yeah.
Uh, oh.
Hold on.
Wait.
Completely forgot.
I have, I have, looking at my character
seated, I have advantage on steal checks.
Gimme one second.
Oh, doesn't matter.
It wasn't in that 20.
Zac: Oh God.
Kaleb: Um, yeah.
So I guess I'm gonna, I'm gonna
just be trying to hide myself.
I know it's not doing a good job.
Okay.
I like, or just watch this thing tank.
What we do, he would assume
is like the most insane attack
and not even bat an eye.
And it's just gonna really freak him out.
Zac: I am not even gonna lie, I
didn't even remember the crit rule.
So when, when Anya did that, I was like,
Kaleb: oh
Zac: no, what the fuck?
It's really insane.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Ooh, that hurts.
So,
Sam: yep.
Kaleb: Yeah, that's, uh, I'm
just, that was gonna be my,
my action was to try to hide.
Um, 'cause I feel like Okay.
Or would clock that running at this
point's probably not gonna do him
much good 'cause I think mm-hmm.
Already clocked him.
Um, that's all I got.
Sam: Okay.
Who's next?
Adam: It's me.
Um, without using my action, can I try to
perceive what kind of creature this is?
Sam: Yeah.
Uh, you could, you can kind
Adam: of tell what kind of creatures
like I'm face to face with it now.
Yeah.
Sam: It looks like it at
one point used to be a.
Kaleb: She, she does.
I told you it was a bear
Adam: at this point.
He looks
Kaleb: back to the group.
I told you it was a bear.
He, he's mad.
You kind, he's mad because
he can't brush his teeth.
Sam: As you kind of look at
it, you see it's, it's, it's
fur is really kind of patchy.
It almost looks like it has this
kind of like black ooze kind of
running around, I think like a
venom symbiote style, like kind of
curring up all and around its thing.
Kaleb: Mm.
God.
It's a wear bear.
Yeah.
It's So
are you just stop trying
to play Bobby Boucher.
It's mad because he
ain't got no toothbrush,
can't brush his teeth.
Adam: Um,
uh, so I'm assuming if I try
to run, uh, it's gonna get
an op attack on me, correct?
Correct.
Okay.
All right.
I just gonna, just gonna, I go fight it.
I go fight it.
You man,
Grace: I going do it.
He's gonna do it.
Kaleb: I don't like to hurt you.
And they have to,
Adam: uh, but he's gonna rage.
Sam: Perfect.
Adam: I only have so many rages though.
Yeah.
He's gonna rage.
We better be taking a long rest.
All right.
I'm enraged.
Does a 28 hit?
Sam: Uh, yes.
Yes.
The 28 hits.
Adam: Okay.
Sam: His acs a 15.
Adam: Okay.
1 27.
Sam: Okay.
27,
Adam: damage 9 21.
And then, hang on one second.
Mm-hmm.
I'm making sure I do this right.
All right.
And I have advantage on attack rolls.
Make sure I get everything correct here.
Yeah, yeah.
Sam: Uh, no worries.
Adam: Okay.
All right.
Yeah.
And then I'm gonna, okay, so that's
2023 right now for the first and then,
Sam: okay.
Adam: 24 hit?
Sam: Yep.
Adam: Okay.
And 15,
uh,
Zac: math is hard.
Adam: Uh, I gotta, I gotta
add rage damage to the roll.
So that's what I'm trying to
Sam: let us know if we need a calculator.
Adam: No, you're good.
Zac: Prices we needed a calculator.
Yeah.
That thing was fucking crazy.
Okay.
Yeah.
Grace,
Kaleb: that's o bonkers
the amount of damage you
Adam: just had.
Alright.
Um, I've never, that is
20, uh, that's 23 again.
15 plus eight, so that is 23 plus 2346.
Sam: Perfect.
Awesome.
This thing is looking pretty hurt.
Looking pretty hurt.
Kaleb: I'm sorry they had to do
Sam: that to you.
Oh.
Um, as you kind of punch, you're using
your fist or weapons of some kind.
Right.
Adam: Great.
Ax plus one.
Sam: Great ax.
You, uh, as you swing into
it, some of this, uh, black
goo kind of spiders off of it.
Can you make me a
constitution saving throw?
Adam: Sure.
Good thing my con is high.
I was gonna say, uh, 25.
Sam: Awesome.
You feel, um, you succeed, but what
you, you feel like this, this ooze
tries to burrow into your skin and
you're just like, you're full of rage.
Like, and just like,
Kaleb: guys, it's a sub.
Sam: Alright.
Kaleb: It's venom.
Zac: Why do I hear
Eminem in the background?
Exactly.
Adam: And um,
Zac: okay.
Adam: Who's that?
Grace?
That, that was just my action.
Hang on.
That was just my action.
Zac: Hurry up Reggie
Kaleb: to rage.
Adam: Oh, they did do that.
Nevermind, nevermind,
nevermind, nevermind, nevermind.
Zac: Yeah,
Kaleb: you ready?
Zac: It's his first time.
Barbarian guys.
Give him the grace.
Okay.
Kaleb: Yeah, I was
gonna say he's learning.
Zac: Alright, grace, it's all you.
You are all my back.
Mind you.
Grace: I am, but I'm also
like on your shoulders.
I think we established better, so
I'm just gonna keep firing away.
Yep.
Yeah.
Uh, attack number one is a dirty 20
and attack number two is a perfect 15.
Sam: Awesome.
Okay.
Grace: Those both hit or just the
Sam: Yep.
Yep.
Uh, AC was a 15.
Grace: Oh,
Sam: I missed the second rule, but yeah.
AC
Grace: 15.
Ah, it's slower than I thought.
Okay.
Uh, I'm just gonna do
normal damage on this.
I feel kind of bad.
I looked back and you're only supposed
to do sneak attack on once per turn,
so I'm just gonna do normal damage.
It won't be that much, but
Sam: I appreciate
Grace: it.
Chipping away.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Uh, so that's
oh gosh, ah, ah,
13 piercing damage.
Sam: 13 piercing.
Wonderful.
Anything else?
Grace: Uh, I guess I
can do cutting action.
Uh, I'll just kind of hunker down and
do my best impression of a backpack
and hide when I notice action.
Sam: Yep.
Awesome.
Kaleb: Yes.
Sam: Alright.
All right, creature's turn.
Alright, this creature's turn.
Um, it's pretty angry,
uh, original right now.
It's gonna take its four
attacks against Reginald.
Adam: Okay.
Bring it,
Zac: uh,
Sam: four attacks.
That one has talked.
That is gonna be, uh, one's a 16,
Adam: Nope,
Sam: one's a 14.
Adam: Nope,
Sam: one's a 26.
Adam: Alright, that one hits
Sam: and one's 25.
Adam: Those two hit, but I
get two attacks back to you.
Sam: Okay.
Okay.
Does that happen back after
Adam: damage?
That's my reaction.
That's after you damage me.
Sam: Okay, perfect.
I'm gonna roll this here 'cause this
is gonna be just, well, let's see.
I'm gonna roll as 360 6 plus
three x.
The heck that actually hit,
uh, that's gonna be 3 9 14.
Uh, 36 damage.
Okay.
And you're raging, so it's half.
Adam: Yeah.
Sam: Okay.
And then, uh, so go ahead and take
your reaction, your two attacks.
Adam: Yeah.
Two seconds.
All right.
Uh, 18.
Hit?
Sam: Yep.
Oh yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Adam: Okay.
Four, nine.
Nine plus that's 18.
So 18.
Damage on the first one.
Sam: Okay.
Adam: And 24 on the next one.
Sam: 24.
Awesome.
Um, and then what?
It's gonna actually, uh, turn and
run away from you three positions.
So you'll get an attack of opportunity
if you'd like.
Adam: 15 hits.
Sam: Uh, 15 hits
rule damage.
Adam: Uh, 18.
Sam: 18.
Awesome.
So it takes another 18 damage and
it's going to, uh, run to the nearest
street and just go right behind it.
Can everyone roll me a D six?
Adam: Do I need to roll con safe?
Sam: Uh, not this time.
No,
Adam: not this time.
Okay.
Zac: Got a five?
Number two.
Adam: Two.
I got a one.
Zac: Next
Sam: one.
Zac: I got a two.
Sam: Awesome.
Um, who's top initiative or who's next?
Zac: I am
Sam: next.
Dorian?
Zac: Yep.
Sam: Awesome.
Dan?
Zac: Yeah.
Uh, I am going to aim my
short bow at it once more.
Sam: Okay.
It's currently hidden
behind one of these trees.
Zac: Okay.
Do I not do it?
So I can't see it?
Sam: You don't see it right now?
No.
Zac: Okay.
Um, let me do this.
Let me figure this out.
Um, how far is the tree
that it hid behind?
Sam: Uh, like 20, 25 feet purview.
Zac: Okay.
I'm going to cast, uh, locate object.
Sam: Cool.
Zac: Which is technically, I don't
know if you want to count that.
That's supposed to be an object.
Sam: Yeah, I'll count it.
It's cool.
It, it's cool.
I'll count it.
It's cool.
Zac: Okay.
So that is a second level spell.
Sam: Awesome.
Zac: I'm gonna cast it
and it is a detection.
Um, I can find an object that
is within a thousand feet of me.
Wonderful.
And so that's, to find it,
that is one of my actions.
Sam: Perfect.
Um, you clock, um, visually
with a tree, it went behind.
Your spouse says it's behind you.
This, this creature.
Zac: Okay.
I am going to turn and
fire my short bow again.
Sam: Perfect.
Bring it on.
It's about 30, 40 feet behind you.
Zac: Timeout.
Before I actually commit to that mm-hmm.
Can I do a bonus action
before that last action?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Zac: Okay.
So my bonus action, I actually
want to do a hunter's mark.
Sam: Okay.
Zac: Um, so I'm gonna do one of those and
let me tell you what hunter's mark does.
Um, if I hit it with my bow, I get
an additional 1D six force damage.
Sam: Yep.
Perfect.
And you, you're casting that
without a spell slot 'cause ranger,
Zac: correct?
Correct.
I am doing that.
Perfect.
I'm not, I'm not using a spell slot.
Um, wonderful.
So I am now going to use
my short bone attack.
Sam: Awesome.
Zac: And that is a 27 hit?
Sam: Uh, yes.
Zac: Okay.
Um, so I, I'm going to
do the first attack roll.
Okay.
That is going to be a seven.
And then I'm going to add
my Colossus slayer, which is
an additional, um, 1D eight.
Sam: Okay.
Zac: So I'm gonna roll that, which
is a four, and then I'm going to
roll my, what was it, uh, 1D six
for hundred square quarry or mark?
Yep.
Hundred Mark.
Sam: Yep.
Zac: All right.
I'm gonna roll that.
That's another one.
Okay.
And can I add my D eight of
inspiration right now for damage?
Damage?
Sam: Absolutely.
Yes, you can.
Zac: All right.
Wonderful.
I'm gonna add that too.
And that is going to be another two.
Sam: Awesome.
Zac: One, two, A four, and a
Sam: van.
What, what does it look like?
Zac: Um, so I think Van is going to,
you're gonna see like this purple mist,
kind of, almost like an Eldridge blast.
Eerily like go out of his hand and carve
a purple X into the creature's chest.
Awesome.
And then he's going to spin around with
Anya on his back, hunch, uh, like get
lowered, turn his bow horizontal and pull
one back and let go of the draw string.
And the arrow is going to fly
right beneath the creature's
chin, so right in the throat.
Sam: Awesome.
This creature just takes the shot to
the, the neck and it falls over dead.
You guys are not out of initiative.
This thing is now dead.
What are you doing?
Zac: God's be damned.
Good job.
And I'm just like kinda saying
that collectively to everybody.
Adam: Yeah.
Um, Reggie walks over to the bear
and, uh, you, you hear, you can
see him, uh, silently, uh, sobbing.
Kaleb: Oh, Reggie, are you
sad that this thing is dead?
Yeah.
Uh, mama comebacks taught me
that all life is, uh, precious.
Uh, and you shouldn't, you shouldn't
take life un unless you have to.
Oh, normally Reggie, I would
wholeheartedly agree with Mama Comeback.
Uh, this thing does not strike me
as being alive in the normal sense.
Okay.
I'm just, just going off of just
the looks of what we are looking at.
This does not look like it is
alive or what we would hope
to be.
Well, this just sad.
Zac: Um, I have a question.
Can, yeah.
Can, um, van Draven take an
arrow and maybe scoop some of
the symbiotic fluid into a vial?
Maybe for
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Research purposes?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
You can easily kind of scoop it up as
your arrow kind of approaches the bear.
This, the, the sym kinda hops to
your arrow and starts to crawl up it.
Zac: Okay.
Yeah.
I'm going to like, just take the
arrow and stick it in the vial
and snap it off before it can.
Sam: Awesome.
Zac: Find any
Sam: further.
Yeah.
You're, you're easy.
Just like, just nope.
And put it away and you see it like,
like it trying to like get out, trying
to, like it's running around in little,
Adam: he's gonna become venom
Sam: Batman.
Um, so on the, on the, on this creature,
what was that?
Kaleb: I roll arcana to see if
I would have, can I can do this,
but I just, I No, no, please.
I would be like,
Sam: please.
Kaleb: That is a 16.
Sam: 16.
Um.
It's hard.
How do you, how do you, this is something
I think you've definitely heard of.
I don't think it's ever been named.
Uh, but it is a kind of dark,
like some people say it, it
originated from, uh, from the abyss.
Some people say it was created by
a, a, a, a, a, a devil in the nine.
Others say it was, uh, a wizard or
artificial experiment gone wrong.
No one's clear on what this is, but
it's something that's been around but
not pervasive, if that makes sense.
Cool.
Yeah.
Grace: Um, I
Sam: gonna run back.
You do, you do know that it, huh?
Go ahead.
Grace: Go I
Sam: real quick.
You do know, you do know that that
it, it doesn't, what it does, it's
like, it's a source of corruption if
it were to get on your, or whatever.
It, it binds as its hosts, it brings
out the, the most carnal and the most
worst in that individual or thing.
Zac: Oh, fuck.
Okay.
Grace: Okay.
Adam: Geez, don't, don't let
Reginald get a hold of it.
Zac: Please.
Grace: No.
Kaleb: Yes.
Grace: Anyway, uh, Anya's gonna run
back and check on the, that caravan.
Perfect.
Awesome.
Back and peel
Adam: gone.
Yeah.
To,
Kaleb: yeah.
I gonna say they're
Sam: all
Kaleb: super dead.
Sam: Yep.
Uh, as you, as you guys kind of, as Anya
kind of slipped away, uh, you see the rest
of the, this kind of icker kind of burrow
deep into the ground wave outta this bear
kind of leaves its host and goes into
the dirt around it, and presumably away.
Um, Anya, you make your way back a couple
hundred yards, um, and you just, you find
Grace: it takes me a while,
Sam: like a evisceration.
This, this hole, this
caravan's been, been destroyed.
Um,
Grace: everybody.
Sam: No, no survivors at the moment.
Adam: I loop
Sam: the body.
You can keep looking around,
but what's left of the bodies?
Um, okay.
Grace: Oh, save else
thoughts then on me on
Sam: Can I, can there's, there's
definitely like a, like a hundred gold
pieces worth of like stuff on the caravan.
You could us, us can collect.
Zac: Okay.
So my question is, can ven dr so
all the, the symbiotic fluid is left
this bear and seeped into the ground.
The dirt, right?
The
dirt?
Sam: Mm-hmm.
Zac: Yeah.
Can ven draven go well the dead
can their things and cut open the
bear to see if he can find like any
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Useful items in the, in trails.
Sam: Uh, sure.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Give me like a a a survival medicine
as you like, kinda like far into this
Zac: you want survival or medicine
Sam: Yeah.
Or whatever makes sense
or you think would work
Zac: medicine.
'cause you're kind of doing a
little bit of skimming here I guess.
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Oh shit, that's not gonna work.
Kaleb: But, well, hey
outta curiosity did roll
Zac: five it teetered on
an 18 and then it went
Sam: so, so here.
So here's the thing.
My flash, you do, you do pop out
your knife, you do try, you do
make go to make the incision.
You can look inside this bear, but
it's the dirtiest incision you've ever
made and you've ever seen someone that
you for sure wouldn't wanna let other
people see such a shoddy workmanship.
Um,
Zac: this doesn't normally happen.
I'm, uh, okay, you know what?
Let's just loop what's over there
and I'm gonna try to like, I'm just
gonna be really embarrassed like
exceptionally vagrant about how
embarrassing this whole situation is.
I'm just gonna be like, this is just
demoralizing the dead body at this point.
So, or, or, you know,
defacing this creature.
I'm just gonna say,
Kaleb: yeah, this.
Is, uh, this was a bad idea.
Zac: What do you think, Reginald?
Okay.
Nevermind.
What do you think?
Kaleb: Uh, I would, I would agree.
Uh, you know, we're not going to comment
on the craftsmanship of your incision.
I would say that it
was full of shit.
I do thank you for that insightful,
insightful addition to the conversation.
Uh, I would agree.
Seems as if the, uh, life essence
that, that ICA has left the bear,
not much we're going to get from,
I'm assuming is just beat to a pope.
I'd say let's look at the caravan.
It looks like, uh, Anya has
decided to try to do that.
I don't know how much he can.
Sam: Awesome.
You, you were to, guys were the
bear cut open, just so you know.
Zac: I'm sorry.
Sam: You did, you were able
to get the bear cut open.
Zac: Okay.
But I, I saw nothing.
It was just infested poop and nastiness.
Sam: Yeah.
Uh, gimme an insight on it.
Zac: Okay.
Insight.
That would be,
that's a 21.
Sam: 21.
Uh, this thing's been
dead for a very long time.
Oh,
sorry.
Zac: It's like
Sam: all rotten and inside.
Zac: Alright, I'm gonna look at Anya
and I'm gonna say, look, uh, we're
gonna forget what I just did here.
I just wanted to compliment you
on, uh, kicking this thing's ass
and I'm gonna toss her a health
potion I have on my person.
Just cool.
And just say, hope it serves
you better than it serves me.
Grace: Yes.
Thank you.
I can deal a lot of damage, but can't
really take it, so I appreciate it.
Yeah.
63 hit points at level 12 folks.
Kaleb: Damn
Zac: man.
Alright.
Yeah.
Kaleb: So you need it?
Zac: Yep.
Grace: Last canon.
Kaleb: Meanwhile you look over and
Dorian's, just giving Reggie like
a very like, expensive looking
handkerchief to blow his nose up.
Sam: It's dripping and sn.
It's so gross.
Kaleb: I couldn.
Consider that a present.
That's, that's yours.
Adam: Here we go.
Kaleb: We're gonna
struggle to put his armor
Grace: the bed.
Not the innocent people.
The bed.
Adam: He
Grace: didn't,
Adam: he hasn't noticed it.
He didn't know.
He didn't know where you went.
He didn't walk over there.
You
Kaleb: doing the No, no.
Do that to him.
Grace: Qu what's that?
Over the,
Kaleb: you've seen the, the butterfly.
Look at the rabbits.
Zac: Alright.
Kaleb: Um,
Sam: I
Kaleb: think there's not anything else do.
Sam: Okay.
Adam: I guess we'll just
continue on this area.
Sam: Yep.
Yep.
At this point you guys have been
traveling for about half a day and
you see a break up in the forest.
Um, kinda this low hills rise, um, from
kind of where you're at and you see a
little outpost, um, off the distance.
This is, uh, roughly the location
where you were told you'd find
the re resistance outpost.
Zac: It looks like we're here.
Um,
Grace: I guess can we do just
like a general perception
check to survey the area?
Sam: Yeah,
please do.
Grace: 22.
Sam: 22.
Awesome.
Yeah, so as you guys kind of
survey the whole area, um,
it's a pretty simple setup.
Short palisade walls, maybe
five, five and a half feet tall.
Um, there's barbed wire on the top.
You see a five or so kind of small tents
of four small tents and kind of one
larger tent, kinda just in that area.
On the, in, within the perimeter of
this palisade wall, you see two guards
standing at the entrance of, of what's
currently the south facing side, kind
of just staff in hand, very like, uh,
uh, amateur leather armor, kind of
just holding there as they're, as they
kind of like see you guys approach.
Kaleb: Is there any like iconography
on them that we would recognize?
Um, either as kind of like a front
for organization or something that
we would be able to like pick out?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
I would say it, it would immediately,
you'd recognize it as the same,
uh, insignia that's been the common
with the resistance and that's
specifically the cell you're working
with, so you would've seen it back
at HQ and all that kind of stuff.
Kaleb: Okay, cool.
Sam: Yeah.
Cool.
Good question.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Um, I mean, Ian just looking at
this, should we, we just approach
or there's some sort of protocol
for us greeting fellow operatives.
I've got this
Zac: and I'm gonna walk up and
Adam: I hope you fail
Zac: fast
Adam: words.
I hope you fail.
Kaleb: Fantasy equivalent
to holding my beer
Zac: and, yeah.
No, seriously.
And I'm gonna look at the
guards and I'll say, uh,
I wanna say the hawk
screeches at midnight.
Sam: Um, the, the, the
two guards kind of stare.
They don't acknowledge you.
They kind of stare off
into the, the forest.
Zac: Okay.
Well I think it's good to come on in and
I'm just gonna wave over everybody else.
Sam: Awesome.
Kaleb: Yeah.
This, we're just gonna.
Can.
Mm-hmm.
Are these like, are these guys alive?
Like are they actual people?
Sam: These guard?
Um, you can, yeah, you can
look at 'em if you want.
Like on initial look.
Kaleb: You can
Sam: they, yeah.
Yeah.
They can investigate them.
Zac: Oh yeah.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Zac: I wanna roll investigate too.
Kaleb: That is a 14 investigation.
Sam: 14.
Yeah.
Are you rolling?
Um, they, I just, I need
to, I need, I need guidance.
Okay.
I, sometimes, sometimes
a DM just rolls dice.
'cause they want to,
that's fun for no reason.
Right.
Uh,
Grace: rolling for divine intervention.
Sam: Yeah.
These guys, these guys, uh, their, their
skin is, is like normal pinkish color.
They look, they look very alive,
they look very just like attentive.
They kind of, one of them kind of has
like his eyes too wide looking out into
the forest as he's like scanning actively
for something a little, a little scared.
Kaleb: Okay.
Grace: Very alive.
His choice.
Yeah.
Sam: No,
Kaleb: that, I'm sorry.
Me first was their skin.
Sam: I was like, let's look
Kaleb: under their
Grace: armor.
Kaleb: Let's
Sam: see what's
Kaleb: on there.
I was gonna say, let these dudes toons.
That's kinda what I was getting at.
Sam: Yeah.
Oh, no, no.
They're, they're, they're,
they're hu they're humans.
They're um,
Adam: they're very alive.
Sam: Yeah.
Kaleb: Very alive.
Humans, human things.
Like they fellow humans.
Adam: How do you do fellow kids?
Kaleb: Yeah, exactly.
Sam: Yeah.
Yep.
Kaleb: Exactly.
Um, yeah, let's, I mean, I guess
let's head in if they're not gonna
like, interact with us at all,
Adam: one does not simply
walk into the operations.
Sam: So as you guys simply
walk into this operation, uh,
Adam: so see I told you, I told you,
Sam: um.
You guys kind of see, uh, this
kind of gentleman kind of approach
from the larger tent's, huh?
Mega seven?
Yeah.
Yeah.
Kinda looking like scanning.
Like who, like who do I talk to?
Who's the leader here?
Kaleb: Hi, I'm Reggie.
Sam: No, the leader.
No.
Kaleb: Yeah, no.
Jordan is ab No, Jordan is absolutely
just gonna shove her before.
Zac: Yeah.
No, I'm gonna, I'm gonna look at, uh, no.
Yeah.
No.
Fuck no.
I'm gonna look at Anya.
I'm gonna be like, as far as, uh,
as I'm concerned, she's the leader.
Adam: Oh.
Oh, by the way, no one, no one
tell, no one tells Sky when
she comes back next, next time.
Grace: Absolutely not.
This needs to experience
what we experienced.
Zac: Oh, this is for the first time
Grace: disgrace.
Adam: So I'm just gonna be
quiet the entire time and rest.
She speaks up.
Sam: Awesome.
Adam: That's gonna be good.
Alright, continue.
Sorry, I just thought of that in my brain.
Grace: Shelved him out of the way.
Adam: Regie
Sam: like, like, like, like
shoulders That re Reggie just
kind of gets, gets behind her.
Adam: Can, can she, can, he has to
make a strength check on me on that.
I'm just a, I'm just a boulder.
Sure,
Kaleb: sure.
Grace: Geez.
Adam: Make it more interesting
Grace: plus stuff.
Oh, the necklace part.
Character sheet.
Oh my gosh.
Here's it.
Kaleb: Grace, tell me what you got.
'cause I just, because it'd be funny.
I'd like to.
Oh,
Grace: I have a minus one.
The A 12.
Adam: Do I even need to roll?
My strength is a 19
Kaleb: Ooh glass genius.
Do genius.
I'm gonna use that to,
um, distract Reggie.
But his strength's a 19.
It's not gonna do much.
It is plus five.
Zac: Raven's
Sam: gonna
Zac: do something.
Sam: He's gonna Too bad.
You don't have a wizard with sry Barb.
Just
Zac: Nope.
Um.
Can d Draven cast message and
and tell Reggie he's gonna
say back, fuck up right now.
Kaleb: Yep.
Reggie know what message is.
Adam: Yeah.
Is this just, is this just in his brain?
Kaleb: Yeah,
Adam: it's like telepathic.
Okay.
Zac: Now who's talking to,
Adam: excuse me.
Fine, sir.
You did not volunteer yourself.
Wisdom saving though.
A wisdom saving throw.
Sam: Yeah.
Wisdom saved.
Adam: Alright, gimme a second to
Sam: not be like, fully panicked
for this voice in your head.
Adam: Uh, 1212,
Sam: um, just barely.
You, you, you hear the voice and
you're, there's like a media panic
of like, where's that coming from?
Uh, but you kind of, you look over
and you see, uh, vance's fingers
kind of like doing the magic.
Adam: Yeah.
I recognize it.
I, and I, look, I, I looked to him,
but I internally monologue back to him.
He's like, excuse me, sir, you
did not, uh, volunteer yourself
as the, uh, team captain here.
So I took it upon myself to,
uh, uh, volunteer myself and
my, uh, a certain set of skills.
Sam: Yeah.
This, uh, back off, this
individual that's kind cut.
You kinda looks at Anya and looks
at the, the two of these guys.
He goes, why are they
making eyes to each other?
This is really weird.
Do they always do this?
I
Grace: couldn't tell you.
Sam: Huh.
Grace: You know, happened to me
before, but I can't say I'm surprised.
Sam: Yeah.
You interesting.
Interesting.
Well,
Grace: no,
Sam: it's good to meet you, Reggie.
My name's, uh, Lieutenant Voss.
Kaleb: Are you angry?
Sam: You guys are late.
We expected you guys.
A few hours ago.
Kaleb: Well, I had to, I had to make,
uh, some pastries this morning and, and
I, and I burnt one, so I had to restart.
Sam: Well, did you at
least bring these pastries?
Adam: Yeah, yeah.
Yeah.
And he, uh, he's gonna hand you
over a, um, a Raspberry Tart.
Sam: Yeah.
Well,
Kaleb: Sam, I'm sorry, what
did you say his name was?
Sam: That's something.
Uh, Lieutenant Bosque.
Adam: I rolled a, uh, 18
for how good that pastry is.
Kaleb: Pastry check.
Adam: I did a pastry check.
It was an 18
Sam: pastry's.
Uh, it's quite good.
It's
Adam: quite good.
It's very tasty.
Sam: Uh, very tasty.
Nice.
Tasty.
Um, yeah.
So welcome, welcome back to,
welcome to Base Camp here.
Uh, we've been pro up here
for three, four weeks now.
There's been an, an anomaly north of here.
Best we, uh, we talk inside
Kaleb: day.
Sam: You guys walks.
She walks into the large tent.
Kaleb: Come on, ding.
Let's go.
Zac: As I walk in the tent,
I'm gonna slap, uh, Reginald
in the back of the head.
Sam: Perfect.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: Uh, um, you guys walk
into this tent and it's a, it's
an extra dimensional space.
So it's, it's a pretty small looking tent
from the outside, but it opens up in this
kind of huge, vast figure on the inside.
Rare.
Kaleb: I saw that on movie one time.
I saw it on the BBC.
Sam: Oh,
Kaleb: here it is.
A boy.
He, he lost his parents.
Sam: And, uh, so you'll
Kaleb: have to excuse my friend.
It's an unusual advert.
Rather frequent.
Sam: Yes, yes.
I've gathered.
Well, like I said, you're late,
but we have much to catchy you up,
catch you up on This is Camp Ilmar.
We've been, like I said, we've
been here for quite a while.
We've sent several teams
into the mist just north and.
None but one ever returned.
Grace: But one,
Sam: one person did return.
Kaleb: It's because he had pastries two
Sam: Mexico ago.
He's, uh, is he, what
does he like pastries?
He's not doing a lot
of speaking these days.
Kaleb: He seems
Sam: to have gone crazy.
The man who came back,
Kaleb: maybe Van can message
him and ask him if he's okay.
Sam: Uh, yes.
That, that, that is why I
brought you into this tent.
Kaleb: Zach's gonna kill me.
Sam: Um,
yes.
So if you need to rest, you
can feel free to rest here.
Um,
Zac: alright.
Long rest.
Great.
Sam: Plenty, uh, plenty of
folks to talk to in the area.
Before you embark any further,
Zac: um, van is going to
try to talk to the survivor.
I know he's gonna go, he's
gonna, he's gonna ask the group.
He's not gonna go on his own.
He's gonna try to be a team player.
Adam: Shocking.
Kaleb: I was gonna say
you two want to do that.
Uh, Dorian is definitely gonna
take time to tinker with his armor.
Um, if there's any like equipment
upgrades that you guys can think
of, I can, um, infusions like go
to your armor and things like that.
Sam: Um, yeah.
Yeah.
Ro me like a straight luck check.
Zac: Yeah.
Kaleb: Go my
Zac: head.
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: I'd love it.
Kaleb: That is a 16.
Sam: Um, yeah.
Yeah, there's definitely, uh, if
you wanna spend some time, Mr.
Mr.
Artificer.
And craft, um, a plus one,
something, two, whatever you want.
Kaleb: You
Sam: we're plenty a spare parts around.
Adam: Can um, Reggie
Kaleb: go?
Yeah, I'm gonna ask the
lieutenant if there's like a
stop that I can hunker down in.
Sam: Yeah, for sure.
There's like a little, um, I mean, you
people, someone would call it a forge.
It's more just like a small campfire and
like the tiniest anvil you've ever seen,
Kaleb: but hey.
Sam: Yeah,
Kaleb: he, he's a tiny man.
He make use to that.
Sam: Yep.
Kaleb: Alright, cool.
That's what I'm hearing.
Adam: Reggie is gonna go to, um, hang
out with like a group of resistance.
People just like maybe in kind of
like in your camp setting, just
sitting around tables and stuff.
Mm-hmm.
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
There's definitely a mess hall.
Adam: Yeah.
So down, down at the mess hall, he's going
to, he's gonna sit down with a group of
people that he's never met before and,
uh, he pulls out, uh, three Dragon Ante.
Sam: Okay, dude.
Who, what?
Adam: Uh, he pulls out the card, uh,
card game Three, three Dragon ante.
Zac: Oh,
Kaleb: holy shit.
Zac: It's the only time anybody
uses d and d card games.
It's scratchy.
Adam: And, um, he's gonna offer up,
uh, 10 gold pieces each to people
that want to play against him.
Sam: Um, Reggie
Grace: pay
Sam: people to play with, I think.
I think there's, there's a lot
of, there's a lot of folks who
like, you're in this mess off.
People are eating like slosh,
like they've been here for weeks,
they're starving, and you're like,
Hey guys, let's play a board game.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Just because I like, like board games,
Sam: they kind of, they kind
of don't guard you much.
Like you kind of put your gold in the
counter and they go, what do you want?
Man?
Kaleb: I, I wanna see
if you guys was to play.
Sam: Hey.
That's kind of sad.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Yeah.
I, I brought three Dragon ante to play.
I used to play it when I was a kid.
Sam: Yeah.
Well,
Kaleb: don't you remember being a kid?
Sam: It's been a while.
Kaleb: Yeah.
But the kid lives inside of you somewhere.
Sam: Last I checked.
Kids are scared of the dark and
where we're going, where we've been.
It's not a luxury we can afford right now.
Kaleb: Where, where,
where, where have you been?
Sam: You kinda just like,
does like the thousand yard
stare and kind of shuts down.
Kaleb: Okay.
I play, I play a few guys by myself.
But if you, if you wanna to come,
uh, and play, I, I'll be right here.
Sam: Yeah.
Look guy, the guy be pass
out goes, Hey, cut the kid a
break fresh outta the academy.
I'll play you
Kaleb: Really?
You play with me?
Sam: Yeah.
Kaleb: You
Sam: kinda put this
down 30, 30 gold pieces?
Like Yeah.
Oh,
Kaleb: okay.
Okay.
None of my other, other, they
Adam: play with me.
Sam: Not gonna lie.
Didn't understand a word
you said, but you what me.
Let's
Adam: go.
It's perfect.
'cause sometimes he speaks
no mish where it's just like,
it's like, you're like, oh.
Sam: Can't understand it.
Um, here we call that Spanglish.
Spanglish?
Kaleb: Yes.
Okay.
You, you need, you need a D six.
Yeah.
A D eight, a D 10, and a D 12.
Sam: All right.
What we're gonna do is we're gonna cut
over to to van as you're, as you're
playing, uh, cards with this gentleman.
Um, van.
Zac: Yeah.
Sam: So do you wanna go talk to this dude?
Zac: I wanna talk to Jonathan.
I believe it
Sam: was.
Yes.
Yes.
Um, so Lieutenant, uh, Voss is like,
yeah, he's, um, he's back here.
Just
keep in mind, his mind is
fragile, what we can tell.
So kinda lifts the curtain open and
you see, um, Jonathan, who's about
a, a middle aged, um, elf, um, I say
middle aged, it's, he's like 35, not
quite middle aged, um, but younger.
And he kind of has this kind of
wild look in his eye and all.
And you see he's standing pretty
still except for his, his hand
resting on like the desk nearby.
And just like tapping rhythmically,
like, like he's like, he
set a metronome, 1, 2, 3,
just sitting there, kind
of tapping his finger.
Zac: Okay.
Um, so Van Dra Okay.
Is, uh, on you with me?
Grace: Mm-hmm.
Zac: You are?
Okay.
I'm gonna say,
can I maybe roll inside to see if
it's like morse of any kind or like
Sam: Yeah, yeah, please do.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
For sure.
Grace: It's
Sam: okay.
Absolutely.
If
it's
Grace: a form of thieves, can
Sam: Yeah.
Yep, yep.
For sure.
Roll, uh, inside or whatever
you guys want for that.
It's a
Zac: dirty 20, dirty 20.
Sam: Anya, anything from you?
Grace: Uh, I can do it in space,
uh, pretty good.
24.
Awesome.
Zac: Nice.
Sam: Um, this is definitely
some kind of Morse, um, but it
is specifically thieves camp.
So Van, you kind of clock
this as like, good, good.
I guess, uh, you van clock this as like,
oh, this is, he's trying to communicate.
Um, but, but grace, you, you totally kind
of clock his, his rhythmic tapping and.
It, it's, it is the same like few
words over and over on repeat.
Uh, 'cause
Kaleb: darkness.
I, there was, there was
they, they they were there.
I don't, I lost George.
George.
Sam: It's gone.
Just, and he kinda just like starts
to stutter on like, it's like, and he
kinda like, it's like that on repeat.
Zac: Okay.
He said darkness.
Sam: Darkness.
Zac: Okay.
Um, so I think Van vin's gonna
look at him and go, Jonathan, I
need you to tell me what you saw.
And he's gonna cast a can trip of light,
which is a celestial legacy Can trip.
Sam: Yes.
Zac: Right in front of his face and say,
I'm here now, tell me what you saw.
And his voice is gonna lighten up.
He's not gonna be his soul
in and dark and brooding.
Sam: Yep.
Awesome.
Uh, you, you, you cast light kinda right
in his face and there's like, it, the,
the, the bright radiance like totally
like lights his face up and you see
like in his eye and the, on the whites
of his eye, like a little black thing.
Scurry across the whites of his eye.
Zac: Oh shit.
Okay.
I'm gonna look at, uh oh again,
I'm gonna say he's infected
to the same thing we saw with the bear.
Grace: Could try, uh, lesser restoration
if you think that would have any effect.
Zac: I've got it.
I can uh, I can try.
And I do have a lesser restoration,
um, which is a celestial
legacy second level spell
Sam: Great.
Zac: Which is touch a creature can end
one disease or condition afflicting it.
So I'm gonna try it.
I'm gonna cast a second level rest,
uh, lesser restoration on him.
Sam: Awesome.
One sec, sorry.
Um, you cast lesser restoration on
him and you see his eyes kind of like,
kind of like come to where he's like,
the tapping kind of like slowly kind
of out a out a rhythm starts to stop.
Um, you still notice that there is
residual, uh, of whatever's going on
inside him, but you've definitely,
uh, dampened it for a moment.
You can talk to him.
Zac: Alright.
All right, Anya, it's your ball game.
Grace: Well,
Jonathan, have you saw that?
Obviously could do quite a bit I think,
but we're about to go and try to end it
and make it better for everyone and take
away whatever this is that you are feeling
and if you need your help to do that.
Can you tell us anything that, you
know, anything you saw felt experienced,
Sam: just Yes.
Um, gosh, he kinda like grabs his head's
like, oh, like his head's like throbbing.
It's
Grace: right time.
Sam: It's, it's unlike anything I've seen.
Like it was there and the
blink of an eye was gone.
That was behind me that
it took George and I,
I
dunno what it was.
Kinda looks at you with like, you saw
Grace: something like that.
Sam: Like you did
Grace: Yes.
Where we defeated it far away from here.
Can't hurt you anymore.
Sam: Good.
Good.
Yes.
And Nikki just kinda like, like barrel,
like barrels over like in, in pain.
He goes, Ugh.
Just
you, if you go in there and
you happen to find George, just
grab his dog tax for me.
Grace: Of course.
Was there anything else that you saw?
Anything
Sam: Oh,
Grace: in the ground or were there
buildings that you take a road?
Sam: Yeah, there's the, the, there's
a road, um, at the, at the other side
of the Mist Road, goes into town.
Town has a, a church, uh, I
think it has a couple houses.
There was a, a tavern.
We saw, we saw some deviant.
They, most of them weren't alive, so we
thought that we took that as a good sign.
Um,
but looks like he might have just been
the first.
Grace: What sort of church was it older?
Did it, was it to the old gods
Sam: or old?
Old,
Grace: something else?
Sam: To a, to a someone named Ham.
I don't, I don't recall that name, but
George
Grace: knew, ah,
Sam: he was one of 'em.
Holy ones.
Back in the day.
Grace: Kanye kinda rap cloak
a little tighter around her.
Um,
what was the state of the town?
Were the buildings intact?
Did it look damaged at all?
No.
Sam: Over overgrown vines, weeds, thorns,
Grace: Grove,
Sam: I not, not another
living soul that we could see.
Grace: Fascinating.
And this thing that attacked me.
Where was that?
Was it in the town?
Sam: Yes.
It's everywhere.
It seemed to
up and reappear other places.
Okay.
We were, we, we were, we, we,
we were attacked by, in the
graveyard, the church looking to see
Grace: graveyard.
Sam: We, we wanted to see who
lived in this town.
All right.
Grace: Got something
Zac: to say,
Grace: Adam?
Zac: Yeah.
Adam's laughing his ass off over there.
We might as well.
Reggie.
Sam: Reggie has
Kaleb: something
Sam: to say.
Nope, nope, nope, nope.
Kaleb: He's not here.
Sam: Here's laugh.
Zac: Regie,
Kaleb: Reggie and Doer
are both not in the room.
Zac: Andreen is going to see if, when
the, when Jonathan tells her of Hamud, can
we notice any kind of reaction from her?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Um, Anya, why don't you
room me like a performance.
If you wanna hide it, you're kind of like,
Zac: I need to opposing
Sam: in sight.
Grace: Sure.
Sam: Right.
Zac: Oh yeah, you're gonna beat it.
It's all right.
Sam: Or, um,
Grace: oh, let's cut.
Oh, I ruled this three on the day.
Sam: Oh.
Zac: Rule of five.
So if you don't beat that, that's on you.
Grace: Okay.
Sam: We're level 12.
Grace: Yeah.
Probably with my plus 12 to deception.
Yeah.
So 15.
Sam: 15.
Grace: Um, yeah, but you
cheat Probably wouldn't have.
Particularly like tried to hide
her tattoos, uh, previously
her like dragon down the arms.
Um, so I mean, that'd be a
matter of yeah, again, for
Sam: sure would've noticed at
Grace: some point
perception of if he would've
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Zac: He's not the smartest,
but he is very wise.
So he probably like,
Sam: yeah.
I, I think, I think at some
point, even during the battle with
this bear van would've, would've
clocked that and it'd been like,
Zac: oh,
Sam: oh
Grace: yeah,
Zac: I'm gonna look at, uh, onion, and
I'm gonna say, uh, may, uh, may the
other god's rest, his soul Muhammad
kind of, uh, in a, in a sense of respect,
but also like that's not his chosen God.
So he's, he's giving respect
without offering disrespect.
So he is like, okay, I, I
see you, I acknowledge you.
Okay.
Grace: Well, unless you have any further
questions, I'm not sure how much else
we're going to be able to get out of him.
Kind of say aside,
Zac: I am sorry, Jonathan.
We've, uh, we've gotta leave you now.
Oh, it's, this affliction passes.
Sam: We kind of like, so he kind of
breaks out like in a, a cold sweat and
just, and it makes eye contact with you.
Be careful.
Grace: You'll, thank you, Jonathan.
Been most helpful.
Zac: Yep.
Sam: All right.
Right.
That's it.
Uh, we're gonna cut back to, uh, Dorian.
Did you wanna do, did you
wanna do anything while you
were in, in, in camp or, yeah.
You're doing your magic kind of stuff.
So,
Kaleb: um, Dorian is correct.
Dorian is, um, tinkering away and he,
you know, as I've mentioned before,
he's constantly tweaking with his armor.
Um, and he is finding that there are
like gaps in the scale, his scale mail
that um, have kind of like, don't offer
as much protection as he would hope.
So he's able to like store that up, um,
translating into a plus one on his armor.
Awesome.
Um, to his ac.
Um, and then he has been tinkering around
with this blueprint, um, for a specific,
like a band that increases like the, it,
it, it's a kind of a double-edged sword.
It increases the intelligence at the, uh,
expense of strength to certain creatures.
So anything wearing that basically
becomes smarter but loses a little
bit of their like, physical prowess.
Um, and he, um, happens upon,
uh, Reggie and his card game and
just like the light bulb moment.
Um, and he spends his time
tinkering and he creates a, um,
modified headband of intelligence
that he wants to give to Reggie.
Yeah.
Thank God.
Yes, yes.
Um, so mechanically wise, what that's
gonna do is when Reggie is wearing
the headband, he gains a plus two to
his intelligence, but loses minus, but
loses two to his strength modifier.
He becomes smarter, but
becomes a little weaker
Sam: worth it.
And I, and I do, I I would, it would be
amazing if Reggie could speak in like,
in like the most posh British accent.
Oh,
Kaleb: absolutely.
Sam: The most, absolutely.
Oh yes.
We had tea the other day.
Adam: Oh yes.
Mama.
Kaleb: Me and Nap
Sam: World, or he just turned, or he
turns into the most sweetest southern boy.
Kaleb: Oh yeah.
But it's only when he's wearing it.
Sam: Yep.
Yep.
He's from, he's from like,
like, like deep Mississippi.
Adam: Oh, I just gotta talk like Zach.
Got it.
All right.
My name's, my name's Reginald.
Where?
Dober Back Mississippi to the third
Kaleb: Savannah.
He's from Savannah at this point.
Adam: Savannah.
My name's William Bow Tree.
Sam: Oh yeah.
Adam: Oh, I gotta, I gotta play that.
I gotta, Hey God, I, I'll look.
I'm listening to something
to get my voice into it.
Sam: Love it.
Um, Dorian, you kind of, you
approached the, the, the, the table
where, where Reggie's playing, uh,
cards with this other, other man.
Uh, let's see how that card game's going.
Uh, yeah.
Uh, Reggie, if you can roll me,
uh, a check with your, with the
fish 17 in your card game 17.
Uh, I'm gonna figure out if
this guy's fishing or not.
We're just gonna wild guess.
Um, it looks like, if I can read
the Die, he's not proficient.
He's just kind of going with it.
17.
He wrote the 19 on the die,
so he's doing pretty good.
Adam: Nice.
Sam: For a guy who's not, I, I wouldn't
say he's winning, but he's definitely
not, he doesn't suck for a first timer.
Call it beginner.
One way
Adam: I gotta listen to
Oh, I am, I saw
Kaleb: that.
Adam: Okay.
So he's gonna have the voice of, of
Gilbert Dore from King of the Hill.
Kaleb: Yes.
You are gonna have bill
dot or even d and d.
Adam: No, no, no, no.
It's not, it's not, it's not Bill.
It's it is his, it's his, uh, uncle.
Oh gosh.
You remember, you remember he lives
in Louisiana at the, at the thing and
he, he teaches Bobby The about ine.
A man's gotta know the difference
between velvet and Velvete.
My boy
phenomenal.
My name is Reginald Koach ii.
Pleasure to meet you.
Acquaintance.
Sam: That's the full madam.
Like tilt his hat.
Yeah, the broom is very wide hat.
Adam: Some people call me
many the man of the house.
Sam: How many, how, how many
gallons is your, is your KSU hat?
Adam: Oh, uh, it is definitely,
uh, like a 25 or like,
Sam: yeah,
Adam: Doug.
Doug Dione, owner of
Dimsdale Dione size hat.
Kaleb: Oh yeah.
I love it.
Great.
Adam: So you, are you hand, are
you handing me the headband?
Kaleb: Oh no, I'm not saying anything.
Okay.
I'm just walking it
over and putting it on.
Reggie as he's playing.
Adam: Are
Kaleb: you
Adam: putting it on me or
you just handed it to me?
Kaleb: I'm, no, I'm
absolutely just walking over
Zac: and putting it on Reg playing.
You gotta, you gotta do the transition.
You gotta do the transition.
Do it.
Let go.
Let's go, let's go, let's go.
This guy's like, Hey, it's your turn.
Adam: Don't, don't you
don't.
You want to know how my mama made
her famous short berry pastry?
My good, sir.
Sam: You kind this guy, this man
like, kinda like, looks at Reggie,
looks at like doen, like, did you do
Kaleb: that?
We're just gonna walk over
pat his shoulder and whisper.
Just roll and just walk off.
Sam: So, okay.
Um,
Adam: and there's these other
type of pastries you can have.
Bolivar, pate, cra, and my favorite
Mm, coming down from Louisiana itself,
a famous ecl I knew an ECL once.
Sam: I'm more of a Turkish
delight kind of guy.
Adam: Ah, then you would be fine.
Uh, to learn My mama's famous,
my mama's famous strudel.
Sam: This is, this is perfect.
My God.
Caleb, thank you so much.
Thank you.
Thank you, Caleb.
Thank you Caleb.
Fucking mvp.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna give, do, I'm gonna
give Dorian a D 12 from inspiration
of Var just because I want to.
That's hilarious.
I love it.
Zac: Okay.
Adam: You see this material?
It's velvet my boy.
You've got to learn the difference.
If you want to be the mind of your house,
Zac: you know what's gonna be
better though, is fucking Sky's
character's not even gonna know
that this character was like,
Sam: so what has to happen?
At some point, it's like, is is,
is Reggie's wearing this band?
And that's what Sky hears, and
then someone knocks it off and
you go right back into Reggie.
Adam: Well, the idea was like,
when we get into combat, Reggie
just will rip off the headband.
All
Kaleb: is fully going to explain how
the headband works to Reggie after this.
Adam: Yeah, just, just
during combat he rips it off.
He is like, my good sir.
That's not very kind of you.
Sam: Yeah, it's like
Bruce Banner and the haw.
Let's go.
That's, that's awesome.
Adam: This is a Jekyll
and Hyde moment here.
Sam: I'm gonna take 10 seconds
and grab another drink.
So just RP amongst yourselves.
I'll be like that.
Be two seconds.
Adam: Don't you wanna know the
different types of pastries?
Kaleb: This, this is our own
Adam: shrimp.
There's a shortcrust pastry.
There's a rough pastry.
My boy, there's a puff patri.
I am a, I'm a little cordial
to the cinnamon roll myself.
You know, the hint of glaze and a little
bit of sweet cinnamon, uh, fares very
well with some tea in the morning.
And my mom was famous for her beignets.
You must try them.
I simply say you must drive them.
My boy.
Zac: So
Sam: stupid.
And, uh, Reginald down monologues for
the next hour and a half on, on the
intricacies of, of making pastries.
And he gets really weirdly scientific
about it talks, talking about
like my art reactions and like the
right temperature of pH for things
and getting weirdly scientific.
Kaleb: Oh,
Sam: also, yeah.
Kaleb: Sorry, what you saying?
Sam: Oh no, I was gonna say my, my wife
rolled a NA 20 and her spell check.
I didn't see her pass like power.
Adam: If only she could hear this.
If only she could hear Reggie.
Sam: She's laughing at me now.
Zac: It's all right.
I think all our wives do.
I mean, it happens.
Sam: Yep.
Kaleb: Mine's parks right now
by Magic Kingdom, so she's just
like, I'm gonna go to the parks
while you're playing DND tonight.
Sam: Oh.
Oh, dude, I've, I've only been to,
I haven't been to Magic Kingdom.
I've been to Hollywood Studios
once and it was so much fun.
Oh, I'm gonna be in Orlando in
next month for a conference, so,
Kaleb: whoa.
If Nice.
I was gonna say, now, if you
wanna go to Disney, let me know.
Sam: Yeah, I'll, I'll text
Kaleb: you girlfriend.
Adam: We have full, simple
ingredients for pastries.
Flour, sugars, fats leaving agents.
Oh, mind you, there is the liquid portion
and it calls for muddy amounts of cream.
My goods, sir, you
Sam: don't need a large amount of yeast.
Large amounts
Adam: of yeast sugars are
not just for sweetness.
Yeah, it's gonna, they play multiple
roles in the baking process of pastries.
Sam: Have you ever watched the great
British Baked Baking show Ally?
Grace: How do you think I
learned my British accent?
Adam: There's different types of dough.
Any of us have some tempera
temperature controls.
Is this,
Zac: was this a good thing
that you gave him intelligence?
Kaleb: Say this thing now he's
just addle creating monster.
Correct.
This is, this is his true self.
This is Reddy's true self coming out.
Adam: Okay.
I come from a long line
of pastry dough trees.
Sam: Okay.
Alright.
So, uh, moving on.
Reggie, you, you're Reginald.
You're still winning at this, at this card
Adam: game.
Wow.
Good sir.
I should be not my mind much.
It's my own game.
Three driving ante.
I guess the game would conclude, but
by the end of it, uh, Reggie would have
like a crowd around him and people,
uh, are like taking notes, taking
notes on his pastry designs that he's
been talking about while he's playing.
Sam: They're straight up, like with your,
with passive perceptions from everyone.
You guys see kind of like dudes like
square up on bets that they've placed.
Adam: Re Reggie is the talk of
the mess hall for the, the next
like three and a half hours.
Sam: Some guy's like, who is this kid?
Adam: Him?
He's just this muscle man.
Man,
Sam: wow.
Just, I think it's hilarious.
One dude's kinda see you guys.
Kaleb: Hey shorty,
Sam: and this dude's like
super jacked and it's like.
Oh,
Kaleb: I'm wrestling.
You.
Adam: Has, has, uh, has Doreen
explained how the band works?
Kaleb: Um, no he hasn't, but in a panic.
He just runs over and pulls
the band off of Reggie.
Well,
Adam: well my good sir.
If you could I love to party.
Yeah, I'll bring it on.
Kaleb: Alright
Sam: man.
Go.
You kind like,
Kaleb: would you like to put some gold up?
Adam: Oh
Sam: yeah.
Put up like five gold.
Kaleb: Okay.
Adam: And Reggie doesn't know
like monetary, like amounts,
so he, he like throws down like
a 50 gold bag in front of him.
Kaleb: You did also gain 60 gold
Grace: from the last, the last day.
Kaleb: So, you know,
Grace: how do you have so much money?
Kaleb: I'm just a sweetheart.
You gotta learn to, to trade for sure.
Sam: A nepo a nepo baby.
Kaleb: For sure.
I always said I needed some
lunch money wherever I'm going.
Sam: Where are Anya and
Ben Draven right now?
Um, you guys, you guys kind
of finished with Jonathan.
You can be kind of anywhere else in
the, in the camp that you want to be
Zac: Dorian's.
Just having fun watching this hat.
We're
Zac: gonna walk back where all
Kaleb: the Dorian is crying.
He's
Sam: loving.
It's for sure.
Super loud by the mess hall.
Zac: Yeah.
There's quite amo.
We're going You can't miss it.
You can't miss it.
What Ben Craven is.
I don't know about Grace.
You go
Grace: for sure.
Zac: Okay.
Grace: I'm
Zac: like we people's
Grace: legs like
Zac: arguing.
Uh, DM if you allow.
Mm-hmm.
I would.
Van Draven and uh.
We would like to pull up right when
the money's being set down the big 60.
Sam: Oh, perfect.
Yeah.
Uhhuh.
Absolutely, absolutely.
Adam: Doherty, you gonna step into this,
Sam: um, holding all of
your money at that time?
Like what, what's going on?
Why is it
Adam: Nah, I just think, I just think
it's just his 60 gold that he has.
It is just his, it's his own money.
I don't think it's the party's money.
It's his own lunch money.
Sam: That'd, that'd be funny.
Adam: Yeah.
Like, like makes a
Sam: lot of money for lunch.
Where are you gonna to lunch?
Red Lobster.
Kaleb: My, I said I should be prepared
and I should bring you extra pair
of socks and underwear because
you may shit yourself long way.
Sam: Hey man, taco Bell only
costs like, like five copper.
Adam: So, so he lays down his, it
it like you just, y'all two walk
in as Reggie throws down the pouch
of weddings that he had of 60 gold.
Sam: It like, like rattles the table.
Adam: I think
Sam: that should be around.
You see everyone just, everyone's
eyes just like widen up and
go, oh, this got serious.
Adam: What are y'all doing?
Yeah, I lay down the gold.
Zac: Yep.
Yep.
Kaleb: You
Zac: guys are gonna, I'm gonna
let, I'm gonna let you do the
armrest link, but I wanna see how
this goes before I act on this.
Kaleb: Okay.
Alright.
So
I wish you the best of luck.
I hope it don't break your elbow.
Sam: Um, this guy, this guy kind of
like, looks at, looks at his, this, this
guy's pretty, this guy's pretty Jack.
He's not like as big as you,
but he is like, looks like he
definitely benches like three 50.
You
Kaleb: gotta
Sam: do
Kaleb: some
Sam: steroids,
Kaleb: man.
You gotta
Sam: dead
Kaleb: stool.
Zac: Bench
Sam: is
Zac: three 50.
Good job.
Sam: Yeah.
Zac: Damn.
Kaleb: Yeah, I was gonna
Sam: say, uh, my, my, my, my
buddy can definitely bench like
four 20, something like that.
It's, yeah.
No, that's where I'm,
Kaleb: but the motherfucker's huge hole.
Sam: Yeah.
So like, like 300, like, just know, just
Adam: know Reggie just, just
know Dredge can bitch more.
Sam: Randy's benching like 800.
Adam: I have a plus eight to athletics.
Sam: Like, he actually, he
actually benches two bars.
The don't all the weight bar his,
Kaleb: he's gonna cut head of weight
Sam: for sure, but he had
Kaleb: like an,
Sam: this dude, this dude, this dude here,
you're, you're about to arm wrestle, kinda
looks at his buddy, kinda looks do it.
And this guy, his buddy next to him
takes a knife and just shoves it in
the back of his back and goes, and
he, he will enter into a rage, um,
for this, uh, for this, this strength.
Adam: Okay.
Dude, I know it's rage that he's using.
Sam: Yeah,
yeah,
Adam: yeah, yeah.
Okay.
So, um, you, you see he goes, we
Kaleb: we're doing it that way.
What, one session?
One second.
Adam: And then all you see is
like, Reggie just go into like
a peaceful meditation of like,
Kaleb: okay, okay, I'm ready.
I'm ready.
Adam: And, uh, um, he, he's,
uh, he's raging as well.
Sam: Awesome.
This guy can look, see, he goes, huh.
We'll see.
Grace: Be so much better
if he thinks he's raging.
Yeah,
Zac: exactly.
He
Grace: just smart.
Adam: No, I have the, I
have the headband off.
Doreen ripped the headband off.
Precisely.
All ready.
Is this just a strength
check or is it athletics or,
Sam: let's do, uh, let's
just do straight, straight.
Adam: That's still a plus four.
Sam: It's kind of, that's kind of vibe.
Um, yeah.
Adam: Alright.
Sam: Different back for that.
Ooh,
Adam: 1919,
Sam: um, total.
He gets a 10 cut white low.
Um, it's like, I feel like you just
immediately like grab him and say like,
you doesn't mean like without a, can
Adam: I break his
Sam: elbow?
Absolutely.
You can, you can, like, I think
you guys are at the, at the end of
the table and you could like bend
his elbow back over the table.
Adam: Oh, oh, yeah.
Uh, reg Reggie doesn't under like,
like Reggie in this state doesn't
know like his own strength for it.
All you see is like those, those
wrestling video, like arm wrestling
videos where you hear the, the loud
like pop happen out of his arm.
Grab his elbow.
Elbow, yeah.
And he's like, he like
immediately, like, let's go.
Kaleb: I'm, I'm so sorry.
Sam: You like, he like
grab, like walks away and
Zac: there's
Sam: other two, like, laies
are like, come on bro.
What you want, bro?
Kaleb: I'm so sorry.
I just need to,
Zac: so you said the other guy's
lackeys are like, kind of rustled up?
They're they're kind of are
they're trying to, to screw
Sam: up.
Yeah.
Yeah.
One one's like taking the dude away
and one's kind of like chill man.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: Like why, why do you
gotta his break his arm?
Zac: Van Avens gonna shoot an arrow
right in the table in front of
that guy just to be like, fuck off.
Yeah.
Like, you know, your,
Sam: your plate.
Zac: Like,
Sam: yep.
So like what?
Basically this, this is what
happens as, as this man's arm.
He's broken.
There's kinda this commotion.
Oh.
Like everyone starts to kind
of like freak out and there's
about this huge loud commotion.
Then you just, and like the whole
place goes like dead silent.
Adam: You just, you just hear,
uh, Reggie like sniffling.
'cause he hurt somebody and he didn't
mean to, and he is like, he like,
I didn't mean reg to gie
Zac: Reggie.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Leave.
Zac: Now
Kaleb: Dorian's gonna put his arm around
Reggie and try to like guide him off
being like, come on, come on my friend.
Let me, let's go, let's go talk
about animals and pastries.
Okay?
Sam: Does he meet Dorian?
You definitely clock there.
So there's like a kitchen.
Um, you can definitely take
him and then definitely cooking
something up and Absolutely.
Do you wanna distract him with that?
Kaleb: My, you could You instruct me
on I gonna make the perfect donut?
Yeah.
Yeah.
You need,
okay
Kaleb: Ken, make sure our friend
is well taken care of you.
You show me how to make your,
Adam: he uh, he, he pulls out from
under his cloak a little, little mini
cookbook and it says Moz favorites on it,
Sam: except the actual, uh,
underneath underneath it, it,
it translates to, to Martha.
Amazing.
Martha Upper
Zac: Batch.
Sam: Yes.
Adam: And, um,
Kaleb: and she second, let, lemme see.
The, the
Sam: full word was done by Rachel Ray.
Kaleb: Let, let flip through the pages.
I gotta, I gotta get to the
donut such and the disease Okay.
Sam: And dedicated to Bobby
Kaleb: Fla.
He looks up, he goes, Dorian,
do you think he, he, he knows
it didn't mean to hurt him.
My, my sweet, sweet friend.
If he doesn't, I friend Van Vra absolutely
reiterate that it was an accident that
he will make sure that he's well aware.
Okay?
I really mean you
Sam: Van's gonna reiterate.
All right?
Zac: Yep.
So Van's gonna look at, at the
guy, uh, 'cause I guess they're
walking in the kitchen, dude,
Sam: like, that's uncalled for, man.
He broke his arm.
We need him
Zac: here.
I understand, but I need him.
And he doesn't know his own strength.
So if you know what's fucking good
for you, you walk away right now,
Sam: big boy in tights here,
Zac: and he's gonna,
he's gonna hatch another
Adam: sun, say Robin Hood in
Zac: tights.
Man in tights.
And he's gonna, he's gonna
just knock another arrow and
gonna be like, what was that?
And he's just gonna start
slowly drawing back.
Sam: Remember what I said man?
And tights.
Zac: Okay.
Well,
Sam: um, this dude, this dude's
by the way, is not wearing armor.
He's kind of was wearing
like normal, plain clothes.
Like
Zac: Yeah.
Sam: Normal words.
This clothes not wearing any armor at all.
Zac: Cool.
Van Raven's gonna headbutt
him right in the fucking nose.
Sam: Alright, roll me an attack.
Roll.
Zac: Okay.
Is this for unarmed, I guess?
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
Unarmed.
With proficient.
I would seem you proficient
with tattoo 'cause that's cool.
Zac: Uh, yeah, I'm gonna
go, that is a 15 plus two.
That's 17.
Sam: Um, you see as you kind of go
head, but this guy, his eyes kind of
flash with gold as he uses port tent.
You rolled it at one.
Kaleb: Oh oh no.
Sam: Like I said,
Kaleb: okay.
Sam: We need him.
And frankly, we do need,
we need you as well.
Infighting is not gonna be helpful
as, as, as a wise man once said,
all house divided against
itself will not stand.
But I admire your strength.
Zac: I can, uh, I can admit when, uh,
my anger gets over me and I'm gonna,
uh, Ben Raven's gonna hold his hand out
and say, uh, I'm going to apologize.
Sam: Um, like
Zac: for
Sam: Handshake, uh, the, the guy
that broke the arm or the other dude,
Zac: other dude,
Sam: other dude, he goes
Zac: gold eyes.
Sam: He out and he kinda, he kinda, he
kind of grabs his arm and goes accepted.
I'm sorry, I didn't, I
didn't catch your name.
Zac: Uh,
you can just, uh, you can call me Draven.
Sam: Draven?
Zac: Yeah.
Sam: Nice to meet you.
Zac: And
Sam: uh, the name's Bo on there.
Bo on there?
Zac: Say that one more time.
Sam: Voir.
Zac: Voir.
Sam: Okay.
Uh, F-V-O-R-O-N-I-R.
Zac: Voir.
Sam: Um, this, this, this guy.
This guy's a half elf.
Grace: Ah,
Sam: this half elf.
Zac: Ah, yeah, that would explain it.
All right.
I forget if I speak Elvis or not.
Let me see.
Uh,
I dunno if I do
Okay, but I know his name.
Cool.
And we shook hands.
Life is good.
Moving on
Sam: for short.
He goes by Ro.
Zac: Ro.
Great.
That's for short for sure.
Adam: I can do eth ry on
XOs, whatever that means.
Sam: He kinda beats your
ass and goes Go back.
Adam: Yeah.
Zac: Go back to you.
No, I can't
Sam: speak.
Zac: So he's good.
Sam: All right.
All right.
Um,
Grace: I can speak up.
Is that a blur?
Sam: You do.
Grace: I deal.
Oh,
Sam: oh, oh, okay.
Yeah,
Adam: I rolled to 19 for my pastry making.
Sam: Uh, you craft amazing pastries.
Adam: Yeah.
I, I like the chef.
It, it's a great donut.
Looks master.
Great donut.
Mean Dorian just made there.
Kaleb: Yep.
Quartermaster is thorough.
Really impressed ly.
Yeah.
Adam: I'm like, um, uh,
Paddington with the oranges.
Um,
Sam: uh, this, this, uh, this, this
individual, this Richard kind of like
under his breath, uh, you kind of hear
like, uh, the custodian vista and the
kind of thing as he kinda like walks away.
Grace, how
Zac: much elish do you speak?
Grace: I mean, I speak it, I dunno.
Sam: Wait, grace, you didn't study
the app dependencies of, of the Lord
of the Rings religiously as a kid.
Grace: No.
Zac: Okay.
Look, some of us didn't
have that much time.
Sam: I'm kidding.
Grace: I was too busy memorizing the Dr.
Who?
Encyclopedia.
Okay.
Sam: Oh, we definitely encountered
weeping angels last session in
my home, home home campaign.
This is great.
Grace: I can do, I can do EF Fellows,
I can do the mighty Ja Fest of the
Holy Hydro Jackson back Rodin Fill.
Okay, I've got my stuff.
Sam: Okay, we're gonna need to revisit
that 'cause that is, uh, important to me.
Adam: Just not Lord of the Rings.
Grace: Know something about
the Lord of the Rings.
I'm just not fat
Adam: Discord movie Marathon
of the Lord of the Rings.
Sam: I do have, I do have
a, an old tus textbook.
That old TARDIS notebook that I had
that had all the gala frean notation
in it from when I was like 12.
It's somewhere.
I don't know what that
Zac: nominal
Sam: was way into those
Grace: weird
Sam: languages.
Anyway,
Grace: I'll start.
What off about Lord of the Rings?
I've been to Hobbiton.
Okay.
Sam: Oh, lucky.
I'm jealous.
What
Adam: you went there and
Grace: stuff?
Yeah.
Last summer.
So cool.
Adam: Shit, she cool like that.
Sam: Lucky
Adam: you.
Yeah.
Sam: Picture didn't happen.
Adam: Picture did happen.
Sam: We're gonna need a, a presentation
Grace: pair.
Nerd cred we're she
Adam: got nerd cred.
She got the nerd cred.
Don't, don't mess with the nerd cred.
Sam: Yep.
Yep.
Adam: All
Sam: right.
So this, uh, this wizard kind
of turns his back, says what
he says and kind of walks away.
What are you guys doing?
Grace: Well, I'll assume that was
an insult, but we'll leave it there.
I made donuts.
Kaleb: Yeah, I was gonna
say, I feel like to see them.
Yeah.
You just, you just hear Victorian
guys come in here, let's donuts.
Life changing.
Sam: You guys rushed the mess hall
and, and, uh, Reggie Reginald has
made the most exquisite set of donuts.
Kaleb: Showstopper.
Sam: Squi
Kaleb: say I should
Sam: have bring up
Kaleb: a historical ding
Sam: donut.
He used, he used a
large amount of fondant.
There are a lot of dowels being used.
It's like a multi-tiered thing
Zac: Look, a doing on it.
Hey,
Sam: there's a guy named Paul
Hollywood around the corner and goes,
that's not gonna shakes his hand.
Adam: You, you, you notice that, uh,
that, uh, Dorian has constructed a neon
red light around the, the A sign and
it's like Krispy Kreme donuts right here.
Sam: Display forever.
Forever, yes.
And is now Cannon in a boreal?
That Krispy Kreme donuts
was started on this hill.
Reginald,
Adam: I love this character.
Oh,
Sam: so much fun.
I
Zac: hate it.
Adam: But
Sam: yeah, I think it's,
I think it's a lot of fun.
Adam: Solid country gold right here.
Zac: Um, I just wanna see
Sam: how,
Zac: how
Sam: good his cornbread tastes.
All right.
Well, what are we doing?
Zac: You guys are in
Sam: this,
Zac: uh, this camp.
I'm gonna long rest.
I'm gonna, I'm gonna go just,
Adam: I thought we already long.
Zac: Yeah.
Well, I'm gonna long rest again until
we figure out what the fuck's going
Adam: on are.
Aren't we on a mission?
Aren't we supposed to be going somewhere?
Kaleb: I was gonna say Felix,
we should probably head out, but
Adam: to the miss.
Sam: Yeah.
Um, as you guys, as you guys kinda left,
um, uh, the lieutenants, uh, uh, 10.
He said, just when you guys are
ready to come back and check in with
him, make sure everything's good to
go see what you got, what you need.
Adam: And I mean, I think you got enough
information from John John over there.
Sam: You don't know about that yet.
Adam: I know, but I'm just game,
I'm not metagame I'm just saying
like from a player's perspective.
Sam: Oh, okay.
Adam: Just
Sam: my, my Metagame rule is,
is always a D four F psychic.
Adam: Yeah.
So, just so you know, no, I'm
not mitigating in the game.
I'm just saying as a player,
just like, I think you got
enough info on, on that side.
Sam: Perfect.
Adam: I don't know what else to look at.
Zac: I'll say, I will say, I
think Van will tell them about
what he learned from Jonathan.
Cool.
What they did and saying, Hey, um,
we, uh, we gotta be careful
because do, do, do, do we gotta
find George and grab his dog tags.
We don't need to go into the
graveyard unless we want to fight.
And, uh, something very similar
to the bear is within the region.
So that can say the same infliction
of whatever this symbiotic thing is.
Is there,
Adam: is there a shop here?
Sam: Um, not a shop per se, but there's
definitely like a provisions tent.
Adam: Hmm.
Zac: I'll let them go to that.
I gotta step away
Adam: from Yeah.
I don't really need, I, I guess
you just stock up on regular
provisions or something.
Entered, yeah.
Sam: Like rations, arrows.
Um,
Adam: yeah.
I'm not low on any,
Sam: it's probably, it's probably
the same tent that, that, that
Dorian was at with the Forge.
Adam: Okay.
Sam: It's kind of the Armory style.
Yeah.
Adam: What else is here?
Sam: Um, you guys have the, the,
the guards from the perimeter you
can always, uh, talk to mm-hmm.
On the north side as you leave,
Adam: if you talk to us Oh
Grace: yeah.
Sam: There's
Grace: like back
Sam: from the north, um, that was some
still, that was on the south side.
Adam: Yeah.
This is the North Guards.
Sam: There's still, there's
still a surgical tent.
You guys are kind of
already in the forage area.
There's a chaplain, uh, nearby
along with the command tent.
Grace: What direction did we come from?
Sam: The south.
Adam: Yeah.
Grace: Ah, okay.
Sam: So presumably, presumably
you're gonna head north outta here.
Adam: Can I take a peek
in the surgical tent?
Sam: Yeah, please.
Do you, uh, you walk in, is there anything
Adam: like, you're
looking for 20 perception.
I'm just seeing what, what's
up in the surgical tent?
Sam: Yeah, there's definitely, um,
some guys kind of getting bandaged up.
Um, almost like they, they've
encountered, um, something.
Mm-hmm.
Um, put them come back alive.
Uh, yeah.
Adam: So there's just people
getting patched up that came
from a mission somewhere.
Sam: Uh, from nearby, yes.
Adam: Yeah.
Is that you always talk to
Sam: him if you want to,
Adam: or is the elbow guy there too?
Sam: Uh oh, he's for sure
there, he's like, oh, fuck this.
He's like kind of being
a, a cry beBee about it.
Adam: Nice.
Okay.
I just wanted, I just wanted
know what happens to his story.
Sam: They, they, they put him into a,
into, into a full cast and his lack.
He's like, dude, can I
sign up for you, bro?
Can I sign up for you?
So like, I'll sign up for you right now.
Full body cast.
They're signing, they're
signing the dude's.
The dude's cast.
Kaleb: Guy's like,
Sam: yeah.
Scars.
Kaleb: There's guys in here
if you guys wanna talk to him.
No, I'd rather, uh,
Grace: do you wanna go check the,
the guards or whatever
who were injured for goo?
Adam: Okay.
Yeah,
Kaleb: please do
Adam: so.
Yeah, so you can follow me in there.
Guess like a medicine.
Kaleb: I, I'll follow, I'll follow in.
'cause I'm still intently
curious about the goo as well.
Zac: Yep.
I think, uh, Ben Raven's gonna
be kind of like, fuck all this.
I'm ready to figure out what's
going on at the end of all this.
So he's not gonna be like,
I wanna be with you guys.
He's gonna be on his own, so
he's not gonna know about this.
Sam: Perfect.
Perfect.
Kaleb: Got a, I love 17 medicine.
Sam: 17 medicine.
Kaleb: I got an
Sam: 11.
Um, 11.
Yeah.
Yeah.
That, that, that, that,
that's probably enough.
Um, on, on most of them.
You definitely see mostly just like
scrapes and bruises and kind of
broken, like twisted ankles, uh, that
you, and you know, the, the forest
around you is, is very hostile.
Uh, uh, some of, a lot of the rumors
have been of these trees aren't happy
that, that, that the resistance is here.
And so depending on how
people, you know, interact with
them, they kind of get antsy.
Uh, but you do see, uh, two other
people that do seem to have some kind of
black dots in the whites of their eyes.
Grace: They're, we recommend to, but
Sam: they're alive.
Like, like, like very small, like
speckles les, very small speckles
Grace: recommend to the whatever
physicians they have there
that they be quarantined.
Sam: Oh,
Grace: just maybe just put them in a
separate tent observation for that.
Sam: We separate room
armor, preferably tent.
We have, um, do you have a tent?
This is all the, the only tents we have.
Grace: Uh, well not personally, but um,
just, you know, anywhere else
you could put them that's spare
storage closet would work.
Really?
Kaleb: Yeah.
Can we maybe to the, the
surgeon apothecary, like relay
what we saw with the bear?
Sam: Yeah,
Kaleb: definitely.
Just to kind of like impress the gravity
of what we're seeing on these guys.
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
The apothecary kind of like
takes your story in and goes, oh,
okay.
Um,
well that does put us quite at an impasse.
How dangerous.
Kinda like, kinda lean, he leans in, he
goes, how dangerous would you say this is?
One to 10 scale?
Kaleb: Um, uh, left, left
unchecked all the way to a 10.
If you handle it now, you can
mitigate some of the damage.
I ine may be a good stop gap,
but it will get worse rapidly.
Sam: Okay.
Zac: I will, I will ask, does
Van Draven see them talking to
the head doctors slash physician?
Sam: Yeah, I think, I think as
you walk out the tent you kind of
like, again, do a check your six.
'cause like at this point Van has been
so trained and it's, it's like, like when
you're driving and you check your mirrors,
you don't even know you're doing it.
He just checks a six and
you see 'em talking to him.
Zac: I, I think he's gonna approach,
'cause I think seeing a doctor involved,
like someone at the head of the field,
he's gonna be intrigued enough to
know like what the hell's going on.
So he is gonna like walk over there
and kind of join the conversation.
Not say anything at first.
Yeah.
Sam: Yep.
Zac: But just to hear what's going on.
Sam: For sure.
Kaleb: Yeah.
And uh, Dorian just wants to like, let
the, the apothecary know, like the wheel
become more agitated over time and.
Uh, it, depending on who it
is, their powers, it can,
it will bring out violence.
They, they become very a, a agitated
and violent towards anyone in anything.
Zac: Yeah.
Um,
Grace: no, we dunno that for certain,
Zac: well, I mean,
Grace: we don't know how
it affects humanoids.
Kaleb: You don't know exactly.
But based on our experience, we can guess.
Zac: Yeah.
I mean, remember it, it tried to latch
on to me and I hold up the vial of
goo I got, or the Symbio and I'm like
kind of showing the doctor, I'm like,
I kind of want to give it to him.
'cause
Sam: the doctor, the doctor's like,
wait, can I, can I switch his hand?
Zac: Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Sam: He, uh, he, he cast ma Chan and he
kinda like grabs it with his mahan, looks
at it and with like outta nowhere appear
like these like, like, like, um, what
are, what are those called that like,
things that aren't on, on doctor's eye?
Yeah.
Like a like,
Zac: uh,
Sam: yeah, kind of like a
Zac: binocular
Sam: pair.
Like binocular single.
Yeah, yeah,
Zac: yeah.
Sam: Look, looks at it and goes, huh.
Looked at the, the two individuals
looks at it and kind of hands the
vial back to you and he goes over,
um, two, the two individuals place his
hands on, back their heads and just
pumps two elders blasts into their
head and pushed the, the two down.
Zac: Oh my fucking God.
Kaleb: Alright, this I sir, that
was not what I meant by handle it.
Alright.
Grace: Trust me.
At least gonna,
I was gonna say at least we're
not going for the like shoot
them out back approach, but Okay.
Kaleb: By looking at the rabbits,
Sam: the whole room's kind of stunned
and he just kind of look, kind of
says, we didn't mess with that shit.
Zac: Yes,
Sam: yes.
Doctor
Adam: Reggie is crying.
Again.
Sam: This operation, this
operation is far too valuable.
Adam: Reggie's crying again.
And you just hear him sniffling
like they all had mamas,
Sam: the guy with broken arms.
He's like, oh shit.
He was just like, keeps himself
Kaleb: after his momentary like shock.
It's, and did the specs and before you,
at the back of their brains blown out, um,
did the specs that we could see in their
eyes react to the tube that drove it?
Like when that tube got close to them?
Did react?
Sam: React?
Yeah.
You could.
Um, perception with advantage, since
you guys have seen this before.
Everyone Who's here?
The 28.
28?
No,
Kaleb: I don't
Sam: think so.
Anyone beat a 28?
No,
Sam: not even close.
Um, van, you definitely as the, as
this, as you bring your B towards
it, more specs kind of come from
the corners of the eye and kind of
start to like they were beginning
to make their way towards the pupil.
Zac: Definitely symbiotic.
Okay.
Alright.
Alright,
Kaleb: mama?
Yes they did.
Reggie.
Yes they did.
Listen, Reggie, they're dead.
Deal with him.
That's not very,
Sam: and and, and ushers to, to
of his nurses to come and and
take these two individuals away.
Out back.
Zac: No, I'm all for it.
I, I appreciate this.
I'm gonna look at the doctrine.
I'm gonna say I understand
what had to be done.
Thank you.
Adam: And the elders blast Reggie.
Um,
Sam: the, the apothecary looks
at look that van, the van and
goes, you know, sometimes.
Wait.
Gosh.
He's man knew what they signed up for.
Right.
They knew this would be dangerous.
They knew they may not come back alive.
They fulfilled the
Grace: rose.
Yeah.
Friendly fire was included in
the contract, but all right then
Sam: yeah.
We'll have, we'll have pastor
go and refer, read less rites,
Kaleb: make sure those nurses
are incredibly careful.
Don't know what that, the, what we
assume this goo this substance will do.
Adam: Full hazmat
Kaleb: suit host.
Zac: Yeah.
The bodies don't, uh, don't take risks.
Lost rights to their gods.
Burn the bodies.
Yeah.
Sam: We got, um, you see the,
the, the, the, the, the, the
priest walk in grabs the bodies.
He does the full like salt ring, um,
full like Sam Dean, supernatural stuff.
Okay.
Um, and they, and they, they
burned the body to the bones.
Nothing left.
Grace: I think the
apothecary eyes or whatever.
Sam: Mm-hmm.
Grace: Because he was treating
these guys and certainly,
Sam: yeah, yeah, for
Grace: sure.
After them.
Sam: For sure.
Yeah.
World perception, smart moves
Grace: move.
Kaleb: Right.
Sam: What was your perception?
Grace: Me?
Sam: 23.
Oh
fuck.
Zac: Yeah.
Sam: That's cool.
Um,
Zac: yeah.
Sam: Not on his eyes, but on some of
his arms there are some black spots.
Grace: Hmm.
Zac: Burn that
Grace: mother motherfucker.
It look flatter or does it look like,
oh boy,
Sam: don't you love some dark fantasy?
Kaleb: Oh yeah.
This is great.
Great.
Oh yeah.
This is, this is so fun.
There,
Sam: there are no right
Zac: answers.
Kaleb: That's right.
Zac: So I mean, is, is uh, Grace's
character the only one that
recognizes, uh, this happened?
Sam: Someone else wants
to real perception.
Zac: I sure fucking will.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Nope.
Zac: That one is a
Kaleb: 28
Sam: 28 van.
You also noticed this.
Kaleb: Dorian does not.
Sam: If you were higher than
a 20, he would notice this.
Kaleb: No.
Yeah.
No.
Dorian does not.
Zac: Vance's gonna look at
the guy, the apothecary.
He's gonna say
what's on your arms there.
Sam: Can look at his arm.
Zac: What
Sam: do you mean?
Zac: I think it's on you.
Sam: It,
Zac: yeah.
The substance.
Sam: And like, kind of stares for a
second into the dirt and just fuck
Adam: he elger to blast himself
in the back of the head.
Sam: I wish, I wish you
guys were here earlier, man.
What
Zac: are you gonna do about that?
Sam: Takes a minute and he pauses.
Kind of see him think for a second and go
reach up to his neck.
Pulls the dog tags and
hands it to you, van.
Zac: Okay.
Uh, can van see that there's
nothing on the dog tags?
Like it's clean?
Sam: No.
No.
It's, it's clean.
It's, it's, it's a hundred percent clean.
Zac: Okay.
Sam: A hundred percent clean.
Yes.
Zac: He's gonna take, he's gonna say
Sam: My wife lives notebook.
Keep,
and her
Zac: name
Sam: Sandra.
Tell her I love her.
Thank
Zac: you.
Kaleb: What about your mama?
Do you love your mama
Sam: Also?
The, uh, my help, my, my, my
life insurance number is 3 1 6.
Zac: Gotta write that down.
Don't play with me.
3 1 6.
You hang.
Grace: I've gotta, I'm,
I'm, I'm doing that.
This thing, Iain or restrain
Zac: Van Daven will look at him and go,
do you want us to restrain
you see if there's a cure,
or do you want me to do it?
Sam: Um,
Kaleb: go for a second, solve it.
Sam: Uh, agreed.
He kinda hears what Anya says and
goes, we've sent 10 teams in there.
Only one person's come back,
Kaleb: give us a couple of days.
Zac: I will say,
Kaleb: need yet, no need
to make rash decisions.
Zac: Um, I think that
Sam: like thi thi this apo, Carrie is
fully dedicated to this kind of end it.
If you can convince him
otherwise or figure out a way.
Zac: Um, I think, okay.
I think Van Draven understands
the severity of the situation and
how quickly this could spread.
I think he's, unless someone can contest
him, I think he's gonna kill him.
I think he's just gonna, before
the guy knows what happens, I
think he's gonna notch an arrow
and shoot him right in the head.
Kaleb: Yep.
I,
I was gonna say a dorian's,
idealistic, but also pragmatic.
And he knows that the slow, there's
a slim chance of us getting a cure
before it starts to deteriorate, just
because we know nothing about it.
He is gonna look at on me, just
be like, we have no way of knowing
how fast this will progress.
Yeah.
So I think, um,
Grace: I'll look at Dre
even and say, yes we do.
Zac: Yes we
Grace: do love table.
'cause we saw this in Jonathan.
We
Zac: saw it.
We saw it.
And is he cured?
Grace: Not yet.
Zac: Yeah.
Grace: Is he killing?
Zac: No.
Grace: Is he dead?
Zac: Is he suffering?
Grace: But he's alive and he has a chance.
Kaleb: Did they
Grace: We promised him that we helped him.
I promised now,
Sam: um, no, no,
because pre presumably this
was, this was supposed to be a
safe haven for the resistance.
Yeah.
On this outpost, on this town.
Kaleb: Uhhuh,
Sam: they weren't expecting this.
Kaleb: Got it.
They don't have like a secure room or
anything that we could lock somebody in
Sam: where they have Jonathan.
Zac: Okay.
It's
Sam: probably the most secure.
Kaleb: Yeah.
Zac: Alright, so
I'll ask you all, we take a
vote right here, right now.
We can leave him with Jonathan.
You could spread this whole operation.
Could be a bust or we can end it now.
This is up to you, not me.
Grace: You know my vote.
Zac: All right.
So Grace is in favor for saving.
Grace: Mm-hmm.
Zac: Okay.
I'm gonna be in favor for killing,
ending the plate, whatever
Sam: that makes sense.
For the greater good.
Zac: Yep.
Sam: Yep.
Checks out.
Kaleb: Anya, I will have to
say, I would side with you.
We, if you, you claim that there is
a man who has not turned violence.
I can't in good conscience kill someone in
cold blood just for, just for the threat.
The possibility he could turn,
we may be able to end this.
So I say we, we spa him.
Then everybody just turns to Reggie.
Zac: Well, we already know
what Reggie's gonna say.
He's Mr.
Fucking princess boy over there.
He's gonna,
Kaleb: that's what Reggie's like.
No, you
Zac: don't kill off.
Please.
Kaleb: Yes.
My best don't do it.
Zac: Yeah.
Now, so, so I think Van Dre's
gonna like lower his arrow and
he's gonna say, fine, I trust you.
I trust myself.
We've got this.
If we can find a cure to it Now
look at the, um, look at the doctor.
Mm-hmm.
I'm gonna say, um,
find, bind yourself.
Do not let yourself get close
to the general populace at all.
Sam: Um, you see this apothecary, his
hand at his side starts to glow purple
and starts to raise his
hand up to his blast.
Zac: No, no, no.
I'm gonna knock him out his commands.
Sam: I would, I
Kaleb: absolutely crush his
hand or something's gonna
Zac: knock, knock him out.
Unarmed
Sam: strike.
Awesome.
Roll out.
I'll be right back.
Two seconds.
Okay.
Cool.
Zac: Oh no.
No.
Somebody else do it.
Kaleb: Somebody
Adam: else.
No, you already did it.
That's the way it works.
You already did it.
You did it.
Kaleb: Please don't listen.
Not lethal damage is a thing.
I know I did have.
Adam: He probably failed real bad.
Kaleb: I did that one.
Adam: He's a weak lean.
Well, he's just gonna off himself.
It's okay.
Zac: Uh, it was awful.
Adam: You get what you wanted.
You're a
Zac: Batman origin
Adam: story.
You get uh, you get what you asked for.
So.
Zac: Well, I'm gonna be like, Hmm.
Adam: Just know Reggie is
gonna go uncontrollable sides.
Kaleb: There's no amount of donuts
that contain I command guys.
Adam: Yeah,
Zac: do it.
Do it.
Do it
too.
Adam: Too late.
You already, you already spoke up first.
Yeah,
Zac: bro.
I'm not even fucking kidding you.
I rolled a gnat one,
then I rolled it again.
I rolled a Nat 20.
Kaleb: Oh my gosh.
Zac: Oh no,
Adam: that's great.
Zac: I, at least I wrote down
what his wife's name was.
You know,
Adam: Sandra.
Grace: See, what's
Kaleb: it Andy?
Grace: I, I have two rooms
and I have lay on hands.
We've got options here.
Adam: I can always, uh, throw a deck of
many things at it and see what happens.
Grace: Oh,
Kaleb: I do that.
I could just restart
Adam: it.
I hope, you know, I am, every session,
I am opening up a deck of many things.
Kaleb: Oh,
Sam: okay.
Do it.
Where are we?
Where are we at timewise?
What's everyone's heart out.
Alright.
Um, well, I rolled a nat one, so,
Kaleb: um, I've still got a little bit
of time, so I'm, I'm good as long as.
I
Sam: 15 minutes?
Adam: Yeah, that's fine.
Sam: Great.
It's four 12 here where I'm at,
so I'm good for a little bit.
Adam: Yeah,
Kaleb: yeah, yeah.
Six
Adam: me and me, Caleb and Zach are
on the East coast, so it's seven.
So
Sam: Perfect.
So like 7 30, 7 45.
Adam: Yeah, that's fine.
Yeah.
Kaylee's not back yet.
She's doing some arts and crafts
with her friend down in Woodstock, so
Sam: Oh, very cool.
Kaleb: Wife, friends at the park, so,
Sam: yep.
My, my, my kids are hanging out in the
living room listening to Veg Tails.
There
you
Kaleb: go.
That's,
Sam: that's all they wanna do.
Kaleb: Hold up.
Why are we not doing that with him?
Rich is the re
Sam: avin, let's go back,
let's go back right now.
I swear, anytime my son, they're
like, they're, they're twins.
15, 16 months.
Anytime they hear their baby Elf song,
they just mean start dancing twins.
And that's, that's twins.
It's the only thing that
they, uh, they wanna listen.
Congratulations.
That's, that's
Kaleb: phenomenal, dude.
Sam: Yeah.
Yeah.
They're awesome.
They're
Adam: awesome.
Um, are you wanting us to wait to leave
the camp just as, just for purposes
of story and bringing I sky along.
Sam: I can end, I can end.
I, I, I have a, I have a good
idea where Sky's gonna gonna,
Adam: I just wanna make sure I didn't
want to be like, okay, we're leaving,
and then you're like, oh, wow.
How do I fit Sky into this?
You know?
Sam: Yeah.
No, no, no,
Adam: no.
Alright.
I just wanna make sure we're good on that.
Sam: My like, like, like
peek behind the screen.
I think Sky is someone you're
gonna find there who is one of
the other operatives that went in.
Adam: Okay.
Sam: And who's currently hiding.
That's
Adam: fine.
Sam: That's my thought.
Adam: Okay.
I
Sam: love that.
That's my
Adam: thought.
Cool.
That'll work.
I didn't know how you wanted to
play it if she wanted to be a
person in camp or in the midst.
No, no,
Sam: no.
Kaleb: Yeah,
Sam: it's George.
That's why we, that's why
we sent more options in.
Adam: I want call.
Sam: So, man, what'd you roll?
What's your roll on your,
uh, on your, on your check?
A one.
Do you roll a Dex or strength or,
Zac: well, you didn't
tell me what to roll.
I just rolled a D 20.
Sam: Uh, yeah, pick, pick whatever
saving throw you think is best.
Zac: I want to do it.
Dex.
Can I re-roll
Sam: Dex?
No.
Yeah, you cannot Reroll do not.
Reroll not jam.
Here's, hold on, hold on, hold on.
You rolled, you rolled the na one.
We'll keep the one.
Add your modifiers because, and
that one on a ability check doesn't
necessarily mean a crit fail.
That's only for combat.
Six.
A six.
He rolled him 18.
Uh, this man, uh, his, his, sorry.
Super dead, uh, brings, brings his, his,
his, his, the palm of his hand up twist.
His chin is pump three elbows last.
And his head is blown out in front of you.
He falls
Grace: dead.
Dead are like saving throws dad.
Sam: Oh.
Like, like, like his
brains are everywhere.
Oh.
Kaleb: Get it off
Sam: me.
Get it off me.
Kaleb: Hey, uh, can you make a pastry out
Zac: of that?
Yeah.
I'm joking.
Sam: It is, it, it is kind of
this reddish bluish color looks
awfully a lot like a boysenberry.
Oh,
Zac: I, I am, I am, I think I'm Raven.
Genuine.
Elaine's gonna look over him and go, um,
that, that's, uh, I, I, I dunno.
I'm sorry.
I didn't do that.
I I didn't expect him to do what he did.
I'm, I'm sorry.
And he's gonna kinda like walk off.
He's gonna go like 20,
30 feet from the car.
Yeah.
Sam: Um,
Grace: oh.
Anya walks immediately
the opposite direction.
Sam: Yep.
Perfect.
The, uh, the broken arm
gentleman is like, whoa.
Who the fucking my arm man?
Oh, this guy.
It's like, this shit hurts
Grace: in the back of the head and
like, five points of lay hands.
Sam: Yeah.
Oh, I felt so much better.
Yo.
Thank you.
Kaleb: Um, the best do Dorian's
just gonna, dorian's gonna like
craft him a metal like brace so
he can actually like, walk around.
Sam: Perfect.
Perfect.
Awesome.
You him like a little like metal brace.
His arm's kinda like stiff,
but he is like able to use it.
Um, one of the nurses, uh, the young,
like 23-year-old human kind of steps up
and goes, I, I understand what you did.
It's okay.
We'll make dub as the priest comes
in and grabs, drags the apothecary
body away to do last rites.
Kaleb: Do we wanna
start the domino effect?
Should we check the priest?
Zac: Yes.
Raven's still like all phone his own.
Oh
Kaleb: yeah.
Zac: Like, fuck, like
Kaleb: Lauren wants to
like impress to the nurse.
Like you need, they need to do like a
hard quarantine of anybody that's in
the tent or like, you know, inventory.
Anybody that, that Papa Harry
could have come in contact with.
Sam: Okay.
We have a, we have a wizard in town.
We'll, I, I'll talk to him.
Kaleb: Please, please, if you protect
it, protect yourselves if you must.
It sounds dark, but we
can't let this spread.
Sam: Understood.
Um, you seem kind of grab a sending stone
and kind of like letter something into it.
Um, calls for, for help
from, from the wizard.
Yep.
Kaleb: Correct.
Um, so Anya, are you still
in the tent outta curiosity?
No.
Like you said you ran off.
Grace: Yeah,
Sam: I think her, her and van kinda
Grace: left.
I was feeling as I went, but
yeah, just trying to distance.
That.
Kaleb: Yeah.
That fucked with our heads pretty bad.
Yeah.
Zac: Oh yeah.
I did it.
Kaleb: I feel like all feel
like how welcome, feel like how
welcome has been over overstay.
We, uh, let's go get all friends.
And
did it help for you to explain to
me how to make a, a perfect pastry?
No.
Okay.
Sam: Regie, I'm sorry.
This is not the, not not the
campaign for you, my guy.
Kaleb: Yeah.
What is
said, I'm a tough boy,
Reggie.
You are the toughest boy.
Yeah.
Let's, let's go try to link up with
the other two and get out of here.
'cause I don't think Reggie
can take much more of this.
Sam: Alright.
Adam: I love this.
I love this character.
'cause it is like, so out of
the ordinary for like spec ops.
Sam: It's also, it's, it's such
a great relief from everything
else that's happening too.
I think it, it definitely
serves a great, a great, uh,
Kaleb: great.
Adam: I'm lying to the darkness.
I will not be corrupted.
Kaleb: You too pure for this world.
Adam: Can I, uh, pull outta my deck?
Kaleb: Oh, uh, absolutely.
Yes,
Sam: yes, yes.
Fuck it.
Adam: Just, he's, she's traumatized.
Reggie's so trauma,
Sam: what's, what's, what's going through?
Adam: Reg Regie is so traumatized
that, that he has this like,
uh, uh, basically like out of
his sel it's like wrapped like.
Very perfectly.
And there's like a yard like string
tied around it, and it's just this
brown little box kind of just, you
know, and on, on, on, on it is like a
little note from, from, uh, his mama
that says, use in case of emergencies.
Zac: Oh fucking God.
Scott's not even gonna
have to know what happened.
Sam: Uh, you might just
get trapped in a pot.
We'll see.
Uh,
Kaleb: I wrote perception to
like clock what I, I think ready
Sam: have to
Kaleb: do.
Sam: Yeah.
Uh, really quick with disadvantage.
This is happening really quick.
Kaleb: Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
My mother said
I
Kaleb: should
use this.
That's, that's a 14.
Sam: Uh, um, not, I don't, I
don't think that's quite enough.
Yeah,
Kaleb: no, they're,
Sam: um, oh, sorry, Reginald,
Kaleb: that's
Sam: Reginald Rome D 100 please.
Adam: You want a D 100 or do you
don't wanna do the actual deck
because I can roll the deck.
Sam: The deck is a D 100, my friend.
Adam: Oh, is that how you do yours?
Okay.
I do mine as the actual like
sun, moon and all of that.
So gimme a second.
Oh,
Sam: random is fun.
Adam: Yeah, that's fine.
I don't care.
Unless, if
Sam: you wanna do that the other way, but
Adam: I mean, I don't care 'cause I pulled
up a random deck of mini things, thing
Sam: 75, that's where
you roll, I'm guessing.
Yeah, I'm going off the, the,
your, your character sheet.
Adam: I rolled a 70
Sam: oh
Zac: oh shit
Sam: outta um, as, as you kind of
reach into your belt and you, I, I
imagine these are like tarot cards.
You pop open the, the, the, the top of
the tarot of the, of the tarot deck and
the deck like floaters up and around
you tries to swirl around your head.
Um, as you roll your,
your D 100, you get a 70
Adam: mm-hmm.
Sam: In front of you stops the sage card.
Adam: Oh, I like that.
Sam: Uh, at any time you choose,
within one year of drawing this
card, you can ask a question in
meditation and mentally receive a
truthful answer to that question.
Okay.
Thank God.
And then your whole, your,
your deck incinerates into ash.
Adam: Cool.
Sam: Oh,
Zac: oh, oh.
Thank God he can't use it again.
Sam: So you get a truthful answer and
answer from fate and you, uh, do not
get your deck many things anymore.
Adam: Okay.
Sam: Thank God.
Alright.
I'm fine with that.
Adam: Could have been, could've been bad,
Sam: but so much You could've
literally reread the whole story.
Adam: I like to live on edge anyways.
No.
Close
Kaleb: up.
Sam: Yeah.
Hey man, I'll pivot.
I don't mind pivoting.
Um,
alright.
Kaleb: Alright.
Sam: Uh, re Reggie.
Reggie, what does that,
what does that do to you?
What, what, what were you
trying, like what hope were
you trying to glean from that?
Kaleb: I, I, I, I don't remember just
said, use it in case of the emergency.
I felt like Reggie, the guys head
blew off, was kind of an emergency.
What?
I would agree with you, my
friend, you could have killed us,
but I didn't.
Sam: Yeah.
I think the Artis are, you fully
understand what he did and every possible,
every possible like outcome flashes
in your mind and you, you see every
single possible outcome all at one time.
Kaleb: Oh, Tony is like, the adrenaline
is coursing through his body.
Like, 'cause it, like he didn't
recognize fast enough, but did
recognize what was going on.
Um, and does not have a good history with
people using the deck of many things.
So he's like pulling, he's
in fight or flight mode.
A cold sweat is just a sheet on the body.
Awesome.
Sam: Okay.
I was scared for a second.
Kaleb: I'm like, I want
to use my question.
I'm going Wait.
Sam: Okay.
Um, you guys have the rest
of this, uh, camp to yourself
whenever you're ready to leave.
Adam: I think we've done everything
Kaleb: good.
Lori doesn't have anything.
Sam: Okay.
Adam: Alright.
We'll head out.
Sam: Um,
Kaleb: suming up.
Chaos.
Sam: Yeah.
You guys, uh, you guys head out from
the mess hall leaving the corpse of the
apothecary to the priest and everyone's
kind of watching you as you leave.
You guys have made quite a
commotion coming in and now you
leave just as quickly as you came.
Everyone's kind of just certainly
watching part, most part of them, most
of them seem kind of upset of like
the chaos you brought to the camp.
Others who kinda look at you go,
gonna have more of a, a sad look
on, on their face of like, they've
seen this procession many times and
they've never seen me never return.
Um, with that, you guys leave the,
the encampment and head north.
Um, you, as you pass the guards,
the guards are on the north end.
They're still kind of like very focused
on, on, on front, in the woods in
front, but kinda look at you guys and
kind of just nod and almost memorandum
and you guys proceed into the forest.
About 200 yards from you guys.
You see a thick gray mist.
Kaleb: I know there was
a movie called The Mist.
This
Zac: in your world,
Kaleb: in my head.
Um, do we see anything moving around in
the mist or is it just kind of like there?
Sam: Um, you can only, only perception.
Yeah.
Kaleb: That is age
Zac: 31.
Sam: 31.
Geez.
Zac: 31.
Sam: Gosh.
Okay.
Yeah, man.
Matt, 20
Zac: plus 11.
Sam: Oh gosh.
Um, yeah.
I, I like for a split second.
You see the small little like
black figure just flash
before your eyes in the mist.
Zac: Oh, alright.
I'm gonna look at the rest
of the crew and I'm gonna say
it's the, uh, it's the
same thing as the bear.
I don't know what it is, but
Sam: it's, it is smaller.
It is smaller than the bear.
Zac: It is the
Sam: same kind of black.
Zac: It's, it's the same affliction.
That's the para.
It
Kaleb: could be a koala bear.
Zac: Yeah.
Yeah.
I mean it, it could, but it could also be,
we have to be careful.
We have to be, I think we have
Kaleb: time to be picking plates.
Zac: Yeah, exactly.
So, uh, stick together, stay
close, watch each other and I'm
gonna continue forward and, okay,
Sam: so you guys, you step at the mis
Zac: Yep.
Kaleb: Yep.
Um, van, do you wanna go ahead
and take point and then I
can hold, pull up the rear?
I
Zac: will, we'll do the, well
do you want to do the same
offensive we did with the bear?
I'll go into the back and
y'all go in the front.
That seemed to work best.
Yeah.
Yeah.
I have the higher perception.
I,
Kaleb: Reggie, where do you guys want
to, like, do you want to be in front
or like where do you wanna be in the
like line, I guess as we're traveling?
Adam: Um, you can put
Reggie up front if you want.
Zac: No, I'd say put the tank up front.
Put me in the back.
Put y'all in the middle.
Kaleb: Yeah.
I was gonna say I'm a little bit
more cheeky, so like, I feel like
maybe it would be best to have
Zac: two
Kaleb: tanks.
Yeah, two tanks up front
and then And then Anya.
And then Anya,
Sam: then Van.
Yeah.
Zac: Yeah, agreed.
Sam: Cool,
Kaleb: cool.
Zac: Fragile.
Sam: It's pronounced fle.
It's French
Zac: Frale
Sam: or Italian?
It's Italian
Zac: Lea.
Oh, amazing.
Sam: Oh yeah.
So you guys enter the mist.
Um, everyone, Romeo, wisdom saving.
Throwout, please.
Zac: Oh,
Sam: shit's gonna happen.
Um, B to
Zac: 17.
Oh, 22 baby.
Let's go.
You got a one?
No, Caleb.
I know Caleb got a one.
Adam: I got
Zac: a 10.
No, a 10.
Adam: Yeah.
Grace: Nine
Adam: may have a feature in purse.
Hang on one second.
Zac: Please tell me.
I'm the only one that succeeded.
I think
Sam: so.
Unless Adam has something
Adam: for us.
Yeah.
Let me see.
I think it's a gnome feature.
Kaleb: Reggie's too dumb
to be affected by anything.
Zac: Ah, yeah, for real.
Oh shit.
I'm gonna have to,
Kaleb: this hurts.
Zac: Uh, let's,
Kaleb: I was gonna say, I didn't even
think about my, if gnomes have anything,
Adam: they have something.
I'm trying to find it.
Kaleb: Oh wait, hold on.
I have an advantage on wisdom.
Adam: Yeah.
Mm-hmm.
Kaleb: We roll that again?
Adam: Yeah, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Okay.
Yeah.
Sam: Is that an that?
Kaleb: 2019?
Let's go.
19.
Sam: Meet speeds.
Adam: Alright.
Advantage.
Okay.
No, I still fell.
Okay.
Sam: Okay.
Um, Reggie and Kayla, um,
describe to me your greatest fear.
Adam: Uh,
Sam: make me deal with this.
I next,
Adam: um, prob probably Reggie's,
probably Reggie's greatest one's.
Probably losing his mama, I think in the,
Kaleb: you gotta
Sam: make me do that,
Kaleb: man.
Sam: I'm, I'm fresh outta beer.
I okay.
I'm fresh outta
Adam: beer.
You gotta, you gotta just say
a mama's boy at heart, like,
Sam: yeah, yeah.
No, for sure.
Um, Reggie, you see a vision, uh, and you,
you, you clearly know this is a vision.
Um, but you're back, um, at
home, you smell your mom's
fresh, baked sourdough bread.
You see that she's nurturing the starter.
She's going and tending the
coals to, um, the, the furnace.
And
it all happens so quickly.
But you remember it so vividly that
the flash of light in your eyes
across your face as this, um, band of
goblins comes through your town and
ravages the whole place and steals
your mother and takes her away.
I,
Adam: uh, you could have went darker
Sam: as she I know.
Adam: Now, is this, is this
considered frightened or,
Sam: uh, yes.
You are frightened.
Adam: Uh, I cannot be frightened
'cause I am a barbarian.
Sam: Wonderful.
Adam: That's why I ask.
So I would write you, I I understand that
the mist is trying to perceive frightened
us, but, um, but I'm not frightened.
Because I understand it's just a vision.
Is that how you wanna play that?
Sam: Yep.
Perfect.
Kaleb: That's not real.
Mama.
Mama is safe.
That's not real.
Sam: Tanya,
your greatest fear.
Grace: So yeah.
So I established in the last arc
that her mother's already did,
and I don't think it's that, but
Zac: But you
Grace: did the rest of her family.
Yeah.
Zac: You did?
Yeah.
Grace: I think it's
the rest of her family.
She has two brothers and a sister.
It's them not just finding out,
but finding out that she broke
her vows to find that out.
That,
Sam: ooh, geez.
Um, Anya, you see, it's been a
few years since you left home.
Um, your family is, um, sitting
by the fire and trying to, like,
your dad is fully trying to
understand why his little girl left.
He kind of thinks himself of,
man, is this something I did?
Was it 'cause of her mother?
And it's, he's kinda like thinking
to himself, your, your siblings
kind of begin to,
to understand truthfully
that,
that you did break, break your vow, your
oath for this, something took you away
from where you should be, it's home.
Um, you are frightened if you don't
have immunity to that condition.
Grace: Yeah, I don't think I
have any resistance or immunity.
Yeah.
Sam: Yeah.
Um, you're frightened.
Um, and as our, uh, intrepid, adventurers
venture further into the mist, we're gonna
cut to black and pick it up next time.
