The Scottish Government has announced that it is committing targeted investment to ensure that productivity is improved and waiting lists are reduced across the nation’s health system.
For the first quarter of the new financial year, £30 million of funding is being put in, with this amounting to £300 million over the course of the next three years.
This builds further on the First Minister’s announcement that £100 million every year will continue to reduce inpatient and day-case waiting lists by approximately 100,000 patients.
West of England Combined Authority has announced that regeneration in Bristol is being driven forward thanks to the incorporation of a new partnership.
Formalising an existing collaboration between the authority, Bristol City Council, Homes England, and Network Rail, the Bristol Temple Quarter Limited Liability Partnership (BTQLLP) will ensure that the regeneration of the Temple Quarter continues at pace.
This project is working to deliver 10,000 new homes, employment opportunities, and infrastructure and public spaces in the centre of the city.
This week marks the 50th anniversary of the Local Government Act 1972, which reshaped local boundaries and services.
One organisation celebrating the milestone is the District Councils Association, which is using a series of videos to identify examples of how district councils are innovating and addressing area-specific challenges.
