How are you doing?

How are you really doing?

Sometimes we keep going.

We do all the things.

We keep making it work for our family
and running our businesses and doing

all the things, and sometimes we need
to just press pause and stop and just

realize how much we've got going on.

Those circles we're spinning.

And I certainly, yesterday I had a
day of feeling really overwhelmed.

I've got so many different things
going on in my personal life, plus

running a business and I had a cry.

I had a cry and felt really overwhelmed,
and my business is my bright spot.

My business is the thing that
really brings me joy and it feels

exciting and it's something new.

It's something that is kind of my, I don't
wanna say escape because I really like

my life, but it's my channel to really
put a lot of my passion but sometimes

everything else can feel overwhelming
and for me, I have a court case coming

up and I just sort of found out the date
of that and I'm having to navigate moving

house and moving schools to my son.

So the court case is divorce and
um, so just trying to navigate all

the things, and try and get divorced
basically so I can move on with my life.

We've, we've come to the point of needing
to take someone to court in order to make

that happen, but we can in the midst of
whatever you've got going on and, you

know, it can be, I'm sure a lot with kids
and family and business and maybe it's

money worries, maybe it's, I know whatever
you have going on, but it's finding those

quiet times to just pause and breathe.

And for me, that is often meditation.

That is often going for a run.

I find going for a run in the fields
really, really soothing and um, just

hearing the birds being present in
the moment can really just help you

to, to press, pause, recalibrate, and
see that we are one small piece of

this amazing world that we live in.

And, you know, sometimes
that may help you.

Other times, maybe it's just having
a really good night's sleep., I had

eight hours sleep last night and I feel
much, much better, maybe it's watching

a comedy movie, but doing things that
are gonna look after you because.

You are not your business.

And while we can all be so
passionately connected to it, you

are separate to your business.

Your business is not your identity.

You are a separate being with
joys and love and passions.

And it's really important to, to
remember those and connect with those.

It's so easy to get caught up in
everything and everything that's

going on, but if you can find a way
to remember those creative outlets

you enjoyed, whether it was painting
or gardening or whatever it is.

For me, I love to get in the
garden, and that is, you know, one

of the ways where if I have had.

Bit of a full-on day and I'm feeling,
you know, slightly exhausted with it all.

I'll go in the garden and I'll
do some weeding for 20 minutes.

That's all I need.

And I start to feel like,
ugh, I've decompressed.

So finding your spot, finding
your spot to do the gardening.

Do the things that bring you joy.

Then that can help you when you
are feeling like everything.

There's too many things going on, and
so I just wanted to remind you that

You are really special and unique.

You are listening to this podcast probably
because you have a small business and you

are doing it, and you are really, really
kick ass to be doing it and making it

happen and building something special.

And that takes courage.

That takes enormous courage
and determination and the

courage to keep going.

And so.

If you are feeling like, oh, you know,
life feels challenging in whatever

way, whether it's things you've
got going on with your kids or your

house, or all the business that you
are amazing for just being here and.

Taking these baby steps.

So many people are scared
to set up a business, scared

to leave that nine to five.

And you are doing it.

You are making it happen.

You're building something that
is gonna bring you great joy and

great possibility and potential.

And you are, you are making it happen.

And so.

Give yourself a little pat on the back
and remind yourself how awesome you are,

how unique and special you are, because,
you know, not everyone can do this.

You are pretty amazing.

You are here building a business.

You are doing it.

One in five new businesses fails in
the first year, and you are doing it.

You are making it happen, and.

That is something to give
yourself a pat on the back for.

That's something to really recognize
your brilliance and capabilities and

talents and resilience and determination
to keep going because building a

business is hard and you are doing it.

You are making it happen, and not
everyone is capable of doing that.

Not everyone can.

Have that staying power or tenacity or
idea or resilience, but you've got it.

You are doing it, you're making it happen.

And maybe it's your side hustle
where you're working in your day job.

And that's great because
that shows real tenacity.

But you are doing it,
you're keeping going.

You are running your business and
you're doing something else as well.

And.

However you are making it work.

You are making it work and so I
just wanted to say bravo to you.

Bravo to you and your resilience
and determination and keep going.

Running a business is, is not a
sprint, it's a marathon and it comes

in all shapes and forms and so.

You know, you are making something
that is gonna have sticking

power and be there, be around.

And so if you can think to yourself, this
is one chapter of my business and the next

chapter I'm gonna be more streamlined.

The next chapter I'm gonna
be have more automation or

create a different product or.

Be able to invest in staff or whatever it
may be, then know you can move that way.

And with, with AI, there is so
much potential, there is so much

potential for you to outsource in a
way where you are using your skills.

I'm really sorry.

You can probably hear the dog snoring.

She's, she's quietly
snoring in the background.

She's come in the room
and started snoring.

Um, and maybe.

That is your thing that you are
going to outsource using ai.

Maybe you are gonna build a team
wherever your business goes, wherever

your direction goes, know that
you have something really unique

and special and you're doing it.

So bravo to you.
