It is 20 hours past midnight and it is Tuesday plus…it’s kind of a downer weather-wise here locally as grey is the tone and rain is the order. However, as we do every single Tuesday night it’s time to let the under the radar birds fly free tonight after a very busy week of new music, so lots to get into for the full two hours this evening. Hightlights from The Drums, Madison Cunningham, The Hails, Overcoats and so very many more are on the docket for their airtime closeups tonight. And in fact, it’s such a busy week of new stuff that we’ll forego the history tonight although this one is a tune that I’m sure almost everyone has felt at one time or another, and to me this captures the very essence of modern times. Everything Is Boring. THIS is The Drop.

Facts
The Beaches – Everything Is Boring
- Have you caught yourself thinking this? I know you have. There’s more incredible media of all types coming out every single day, your friends tell you this new series is mind-blowing, your sister tells you to check out this album, a local radio host says this is song of the week, and…MEH. Boring.
- Well, that was our new tunes opener of the week, that was everything is boring by The Beaches. For those unfamiliar, this is a veteran Juno Award-winning rock group formed in 2013, and this standalone single is a gem. You probably thought it was boring, though.
The Drums – I Want It All
- Very excited to see this indie pop outfit back with their first new music in four years’ time.
- The Brooklyn band with this tune have hit the road simultaneously, as their North American tour has started.
- If you want more, check out Brutalism from 2019, good album.
Indigo De Souza – You Can Be Mean
- Back in February, the indie artist that overall is very difficult to pin down genre-wise announced a new album called All of This Will End.
- This would be the latest single to the LP, out in full on April 28.
Beach Fossils – Dare Me*
- Another album announced earlier in the year is Bunny, from this veteran Brooklyn quintet.
- Dare Me is the latest single to the record, which is out June 2, so still plenty to come from the percolation of that one in the coming months.
Youth Lagoon – Prize Fighter
- Just out this past weekend is this cut, which is the title track to the upcoming album.
- Lead man Trevor Powers in 2016 ostensibly retired the band, but now the group have reassembled and the Prize Fighter LP will drop June 9.
Best Frenz – Flatline*
- This would be the collab project between Joywave’s Daniel Armbruster along with Sir Sly’s Jason Suwito.
- Even though Joywave are right now hitting the road for a rather massive tour, Armbruster took the time to drop this one before doing so, and hoping more is to come from this project.
Wallice – Best Friend
- Interesting tune here, not the typical stuff you’d hear from the LA artist, but still quite good.
- This is the lead single to Wallice’s upcoming Mr Big Shot EP, and that will drop late June on the 23rd.

Part 2
Madison Cunningham – Inventing the Wheel
Norah Jones – Killing Time
feeble little horse – Steamroller*
FILLY – Piece of Art
Jimmy Whispers – True Love Is Freedom
Avalon Emerson – Karaoke Song
Purr – Drift

Facts
Madison Cunningham – Inventing the Wheel
- Big news for fans of the artist, who last year released the Grammy winning Revealer LP.
- This tune dropped over the weekend saw the announcement of the deluxe edition of the album coming out on May 5.
Norah Jones – Killing Time
- Now, obviously I know Norah Jones is a big deal, but I just couldn’t fit this onto the playlist last night.
- With this tune, the multi-Grammy winner and jazz artist of the decade for the aughts acccording to the BBC announced the deluxe edition of 2012’s Little Broken Hearts, which will feature 31 tracks and drops via Blue Note June 2.
feeble little horse – Steamroller*
- For those of you uninitiated, and I certainly was amongst you prior to doing a bit of research for tonight, this is a quartet out of Pittsburgh who are soon to release their debut LP Girl With Fish.
- The album announced with this single will be out June 9 courtesy of Saddle Creek.
FILLY – Piece of Art
- This is a tune from an album just dropped Friday called Watching Strangers Smile.
- I do wish I had more information on the artist, but I have very little aside from this is FILLY’s sophomore LP, so go check it out & give it a spin.
Jimmy Whispers – True Love Is Freedom
- This is an artst I hadn’t heard from in a while, like almost a decade, I think.
- At any rate, back in February the LA-based Chicago native announced a new album called The Search For God, and this tune would be the latest single.
- The Search For God ends, apparently, on June 9, so there you go.
Avalon Emerson – Karaoke Song
- This is a DJ out of San Francisco originally who’s about to drop her debut LP on April 28, and we’ve featured a previous single or two from the record thus far.
- Avalon Emerson & The Charm is the title of the record, so mark it if you like what’s coming up.
Purr – Drift
- Another highly anticipated album dropping in June right here, this one from the stellar high volume high quality people at ANTI.
- Who Is Afraid of Blue is the band’s sophomore album, out June 2.

Part 3
caaaaseyyyy – 1965 Heartbreaker
Sundarta – Sour Apple
RINSE – Does It Feel Like Heaven?
Buck Raines – Rocks
The Hails – Fiona
Jax Anderson – Lazy Talk*
MOGY – Poster Girl

Facts
caaaaseyyyy – 1965 Heartbreaker
- A little doo-wop throwback there to start part 3 tonight.
- Casey, that’s spelled with 4 a’s and 4 y’s in case you’re curious, and last year saw the artist release inner dialogue, which was their debut album.
- This tune just dropped over the weekend will be featured on the innerdialogue b sides compilation, which drops on April 28.
Sundarta – Sour Apple
- This is an artist that from the bio is from Santa Fe, NM but now lives in NYC.
- Sundarta states, “I am here to provide earnest confessions about my experiences of being a living thing, both dull and breathtaking.” The artist’s debut album Joke of Existence will drop way later in the year on Nov 12.
RINSE feat Hatchie – Does It Feel Like Heaven?
- Back in 2021, this artist debuted with a very good album called Wherever I Am.
- RINSE is the solo project of Joe Agius, who’s actually married to Hatchie, and this track sees the couple really go extra dreamy on duet.
Buck Raines – Rocks
- This is a producer and DJ out of Florida originally who now plies his trade mostly in the control room for other artists, but this weekend saw this bit of swerve drop from the artist.
- Just a standalone for now, no EP or album in the works, or so it would seem.
The Hails – Fiona
- This tune has gotten a lot of love over the past weekend, and deservedly so.
- These 5 high school friends formed the band at the University of Florida, having later dropped their breakout He Seems Upset from 2020.
Jax Anderson – Lazy Talk*
- Always an interesting listen right here, and you probably know this Detroit artist better in previous works as Flint Eastwood.
- We’re talking an extensive discography here, people so go and check it out, although not sure why the artist has switched the moniker.
MOGY – Poster Girl
- More old school cinema-inspired stuff here to finish the picture, this coming from the West Midlands in the UK.
- True name Brad Mogy, the artist debuted in 2021 with a tune called Cherry, and has since dropped 5 singles, this being the latest.

Part 4
Kat Duma – Fated
BAMBII – One Touch
LA Priest – It’s You
Cisco Swank – All The Same
Overcoats – Want You Back
Teleman – Easy Now I’ve Got You
PYNKIE feat April June – Scared

Facts
Kat Duma – Fated
- Now, just to disambiguate, this would be fated as in predestined, not celebrated.
- Kat Duma’s bio simply says “real life” and this would certainly fit the bill, as that opening tune is a dark dive to a rather deep abyss.
BAMBII – One Touch
- This is the first single from the Toronto-based producer and singer, a bit of a junglist posse mashup on the beat.
- BAMBII’s a very in demand DJ all over the world with what’s termed a progressive dancehall style, and this latest foray into making her own tunes comes off a treat.
LA Priest – It’s You
- Always an interesting listen here as you never quiiiite know what to expect.
- This would be the latest taste Sam Eastgate’s upcoming 4th album called Fase Luna, which drops on Children’s Day May 5.
Cisco Swank – All The Same
- This would be the latest single from the artist, who hails from Brooklyn.
- If you dug that and want to hear more, check out Cisco’s collab album from last year with Luke Titus called Some Things Take Time.
Overcoats – Want You Back
- Just out as of Friday is this gem, which features on the Brooklyn duo’s 3rd career album called Winner.
- Overcoats start a North American tour this Thursday night in Brooklyn, and will be on the road from there all over the place.
Teleman – Easy Now I’ve Got You
- This is from the band’s 4th LP, which just dropped Friday called Good Time/Hard Time.
- This is their first album as a trio, and is the band’s self-described most dancefloor friendly record to date.
PYNKIE feat April June – Scared
- One of our absolute favorites on Tuesday night is back with another artist we adore.
- PYNKIE is doing this on the side while working as a nurse in NJ, and this tune sees t/n Alice Rae Radice drop another dime to end the show.
