What is ...But God?

A weekday morning devotional series written by Aaron Marcarelli and hosted by Chad McBeam

“But now apart from the Law the righteousness of God has been manifested, being witnessed by the Law and the Prophets, even the righteousness of God through faith in Jesus Christ for all those who believe; for there is no distinction; for all have sinned and fall short of the glory of God, being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus; whom God displayed publicly as a propitiation in His blood through faith. This was to demonstrate His righteousness, because in the forbearance of God He passed over the sins previously committed; for the demonstration, I say, of His righteousness at the present time, so that He would be just and the justifier of the one who has faith in Jesus.”
Romans 3:21-26 NASB1995
There are some very powerful words in verse 24 which we focus on today:
“being justified as a gift by His grace through the redemption which is in Christ Jesus;”
Justification is the act of making something right. Jesus death on the cross was a threefold righteous act. It was a righteous act because Jesus did right, by being obedient to the cross. It was a righteous act because Christ death on the cross made us right with Him because our sins are now washed away. It was a righteous act because it was the culmination of God’s perfect plan to send His son the savior to redeem us all.
This right act justifies our redemption which is: we are sinners and without Christ and His death, resurrection and ascension we are doomed to Hell. Therefore we are justified by our faith in His saving grace.
I keep reiterating how simple this is. We make it way too complicated with all the theological debates on our epistemology.
Let’s keep it simple. Christ died to save us from sin, Christ rose again to conquer death and He ascended into heaven and He will come again.
This is The Good News! Let us preach this, let us live out this Gospel! So that others may know of the perfect redeeming justification of Christ, our eternal savior.
Lord, thank you for your redeeming justification on the cross that made us right with You! Thank you also for the gifts you have bestowed upon us. Help us to use those gifts to preach the Good News, so that others may know of your perfect redeeming Love.
Blessings and Press In and Press On!
