Real talk on electric bikes in Australia. Nick Willis — Electric Bikes Brisbane founder since 2013, Bosch accredited service centre — covers eBike legislation, technology, trails, and gear every Tuesday. No fluff, no sponsored takes.
I've been riding bikes since I was three years old. One day, I was out on my road bike, riding on a steep climb, and this was over almost fifteen years ago. I got blown away by somebody on I didn't know what. Caught up to the guy at the lights, found out he was on an e bike, and at that point I decided this is something I need to be involved in. That was in 2013.
Nick Willis:Since then, I've been fortunate enough to visit factories all over the world Taiwan, China, and Europe. I've seen how e bikes are actually built. I've been involved in the design, engineering, compliance of launching e bikes into Australia. So I know exactly where supply chains cut corners, which brands stand behind their products, and which ones don't. I'm Nick Willis.
Nick Willis:I founded Electric Bikes Brisbane. We're a trained Bosch e bike specialist dealer and have been so since 2014. So between our workshop, the shop floor, and the factory floor, I've seen almost every mistake a buyer can make. This is Talk Torque, Australia's e bike podcast. Every second Tuesday, we'll cut through the noise, talk about real legislation, real technology, real trail conditions from people that actually ride the trails every day.
Nick Willis:Episode one drops on the July 1, which happens to be when Queensland's new e bike laws come into effect. We'll tell you what's changed, what they got right, what they completely missed. Subscribe now wherever you listen to podcasts so you don't miss out.
