L E S S O N S - with Lennox Saint

ChatGPT audits one month of recurring spending, protects the essential services and keeps searching until the evidence clears a real ten-percent target.

Show Notes

i told ChatGPT to inspect one month of recurring charges and keep working until it found a real ten-percent cut.
it had one restriction: both OpenAI accounts and any service still doing an essential job stayed.
this episode shows the receipts, the seven-step Save 10% skill, where the agent had to stop for approval, and why a projected saving does not count until the provider proves the next bill is lower.

ChatGPT just saved my business $936 Australian dollars a month, which is about $11,000 per year. And if you stay until the end, you'll be getting the cheat code so you can just get ChatGPT or Claude or whichever agent you use to do the whole thing for you. And yes, this will be for free. First things first, some proof. So it spent 4,901,643 tokens and the final verified savings was $936.78. It was initially going to try to find 10% of my expenses per month and then we decided to double it because why the fuck not? And then we eventually found even more and it got closer to $1,000 in Australian dollars per month. So here is some more proof. The savings goal is closed at $936.78 per month. The context for this was that I knew that I had random subscriptions that I should probably cancel. Another crazy one was Duo GCP, which is Google Cloud Platform. $404 per month, like the biggest one by far. And this is because my original baseline was $4,120 per month, which basically is my expenses across business and life, but not my mortgage. Because everyone talks about AI making you money and everyone tries to use AI to make money. or to invert the problem, which is a mental model from Charlie Munger, you would think not how can AI make me money, but how can AI save me money? Now that's not as sexy, but you're ending up with fundamentally the same thing in reverse. So with that context in mind, I thought, what if there was the ability for AI to just go and save me money with the click of a button or something like that? And that's where skills come into the picture. A skill is a set of instructions that an AI can follow. That's all it is, like a recipe. So what I've done is created a skill called Save 10%. And it's designed to be pretty stubborn, meaning that its goal is to find 10% for you. So here are the plans for subscriptions that I ended up cancelling. Firstly, some school subscriptions that because of stuff outside the scope of this video, I'm like not doing my main school anymore. Then there was a Klaviyo like email subscription, an extra Loom seat, an extra Notion or a Notion AI seat, posters, and then HBO Max subscription, and then 11 labs. And all of that added up to about $936 Australian dollars per month. The sort of meta lesson for me here was that chances are one subscription that you currently have can sort of eat a bunch of others. So I know that ChatGPT can connect to Notion and it can go and do like create Notion pages for me and it can create new pages and do anything in Notion for me. But I was also paying for Notion AI, which can do the same thing directly in Notion. So... I had the same outcome, AI uses Notion for me, but I was paying for it twice. Once through my ChatGPT subscription and twice through my Notion AI subscription. Now let's talk about the system, how this actually works and how you can use it too. It's super simple. You don't need to know how to code. I certainly don't. So... the public save 10 skill the thing that i will be giving you at the end of the video does one job give it your recurring expenses your subscriptions it keeps investigating until it finds safe net savings equal to 10 then only if you approve it can make those changes and prove they worked So firstly, you give it transactions or connect read-only billing. So this is where you go to your bank, you get your statements and you get them into a PDF. If you are not happy giving your bank transactions to OpenAI or Anthropic, two options. First one is turn off model training in settings in ChatGPT or Claude. Option number two is just this video is not for you. You give it those transactions, then it can go and it will find every recurring cost. So these aren't even one-off costs, they're just subscriptions. And it will calculate the 10% target. Then step three is check actual usage and protect anything essential. Keep this important stuff. For example, I had two OpenAI subscriptions that it initially suggested I cancel. And then I said, no, I want them. and then it moved on. After that, it will then find cancellations, downgrades, and cheaper replacements. For example, it realized that my Zapier subscription would be canceled because make.com could accomplish the same thing for me for free. Has it found 10% of your savings yet? If no, it will go back to checking your actual usage of the subscriptions until it has actually found 10% at least. Once it does that, then it will show you an exact batch action. meaning it will show you the list of subscriptions and it will ask you for confirmation if you approve what it will then do is recheck that the billing is live for each one because some things might have fallen through the cracks then it will actually prove that the next bill will go down meaning it will for each subscription it will actually use the computer for you that's what it did for me over the 10 hour period it went into for example my school subscription i confirmed it and then it went it cancelled it that's basically how the thing works imagine your recurring expenses are 700 per month for example it sees that you're actually paying 100 per month for project tool pro It establishes that you only use features included in the $30 per month plan. It finds this opportunity for you to downgrade from $100 to $30. So the skill has achieved its goal. And this is how it will look for you. It will... Present this exact action. Downgrade project tool pro to basic. Expected savings is $70 per month. Consequent is lose the unused pro features and recovery is upgrade again later. It then asks, do you approve this exact batch for this execution? If you say no, nothing changes. If you say yes, it opens the live billing account, checks that the account plan and price still match. downgrades the plan, captures the provider's confirmation and next bill preview, waits for the affected statement before calling the $70 generally saved. You've seen the proof. You've seen the system. Now it's time for you to actually use it. Here is exactly how. Two different agents that I'm going to show you how to do this with. On my left is ChatGPT. On my right is Claude Desktop. Now, we're going to be installing two skills. The skill that I've shown you, the save 10% one, as well as another one, which will help us do the save 10% one much better. Open a new chat in ChatGPT or Claude and just type in grill. That is step one done. step two is now we actually install my skill all we need to do here is a stupid simple prompt install the save 10 skill at github.com forward slash lennox saint forward slash skills open a new chat forward slash type in grill me then type use and then another forward slash save 10 and if you're in chat gpt this is where i need you to do a separate step which is forward slash and then just type in plan and hit that hit enter on that prompt and that is step three step four is actually going to get the bank transaction pdfs from your bank or banks Step five is you then go and answer all of the questions the agent asked you. Step six is then it will create a plan for you. Step seven is to just keep a lazy eye on your agent. It will stop for confirmation for things and then just give it what it needs to continue going or take over in the browser to complete some steps or whatever. This was a process that I did probably over two or three days. So the process itself is done by the agent. You're making the decisions where they actually matter. And for me, the result was I saved $11,000 per year. If you want me to run this kind of job with you, go to lennoxsaint.com forward slash fit. That's L-E-N-N-O-X saint.com forward slash fit.
