Ctrl+Alt+Protect

Most small business owners didn't sign up to run security for their company. They signed up to practice dentistry, represent clients, file returns, or build something. The technology came with the job — and so did the risk.

Ctrl+Alt+Protect is a show for those owners and the people who keep their offices running.

Host Jason Russell spent more than eight years in the U.S. Navy as a cryptologic technician, running shipboard networks and encrypted communications during tactical operations. He went on to work at the National Security Agency as a network security consultant, then spent four years in Iraq leading the Multi-National Division–Baghdad Tactical Biometrics Cell and a team of forty field support engineers. In 2011 he brought that work home to Central Florida and founded what is now Harmony MSP, where he works with small businesses, medical and dental practices, law firms, and accounting firms.

In this trailer, Jason lays out what the show covers and how: one topic per episode, explained plainly. Why the email from your bookkeeper might not be from your bookkeeper. What a cyber insurance application is actually asking you to certify. Which items on a vendor's proposal matter, and which you can pass on.

What is Ctrl+Alt+Protect?

Cybersecurity and technology for small business owners, explained in plain English. No jargon, no fear, no sales pitch. Hosted by Jason Russell.

Jason Russell:

Most small business owners never signed up to be the person in charge of cybersecurity, and yet here we are. I'm Jason Russell, and this is Ctrl plus Alt plus Protect, a show about technology and security for the people actually running the business. Here's where I'm coming from. I enlisted in the US Navy in 1998 and spent more than eight years as a cryptologic technician running shipboard networks and encrypted voice and data communications during tactical operations. After that, I worked at the National Security Agency as a network security consultant.

Jason Russell:

Then four years in Iraq leading the multinational division Baghdad tactical biometric cell, guiding a team of 40 field support engineers in a place where a gap in the process had consequences by that same afternoon. In 2011, I brought that discipline home to Central Florida and started what is now Harmony MSP. Today, I work with owners and practice administrators at small businesses, medical and dental offices, law firms, and accounting practices. So here's the show. One topic per episode explained plainly.

Jason Russell:

Why that email from your bookkeeper might not be from your bookkeeper, what your cyber insurance application is really asking you to certify, which of the six things a vendor is selling you actually matter, and which ones you can skip. No jargon. No fear selling. No long detour into acronyms you will never need again. You don't need to become a technologist.

Jason Russell:

You need enough to ask better questions and make a decent decision. That's what this is for. Ctrl. Alt Protect is brought to you by Harmony MSP, a technology and security firm in Lake Mary, Florida. You'll find us at harmony-msp.com.
