What is up and welcome back to the process of becoming podcast with Josh. My name is Dino. Guys, it is Saturday morning. It is beautiful here in St. Louis. We were just listening to some mashups to get ourselves hyped for this podcast and we're going to have a freaking fun time today. We got another good one on the docket. And yeah, man, how was your week this week? Dude, I like your word on the docket. It's an old ass term. was going to say, was like, when did this?
I was like, I've never heard that in your vocabulary, but I like it. Yeah, we're going to bust out the Rolodex. We got some really good ones for you. You to be able to listen to this so you know what a Rolodex is. You know what a Rolodex is? Isn't that the, I know what it is. It's the, hold on, hold on. I'm trying to paint the picture. Is it, is it the coin thing? No. No. Rolodex. So a Rolodex. This is before you had like a call log in your phone where you could just type in two letters and it up a name. It was a little like round thing on your desk that had cards in it.
And if you needed to find like R, you just rolled it until you found the R's and then you swipe through it with your fingers off paper. okay, okay, got it. Do you know what the Dewey Decimal System is? This I do, because I have to learn this. So you're not like the card catalog? It was like that but on your desk and smaller for phone numbers. No way. Dude, the shit that you don't know. So did you ever use one of those phones where you gotta like hit the roll the button? Yeah, fuck yeah. My grandparents had one in their house.
It's fucking awesome. Do you know what the best this is something this is a good point. So in this world that we live in there there seems to be this expectation of like, I texted you didn't text me right back. Right. Well, when I come from like with those old phones, it wasn't we didn't have those when I got my grandparents, they it was old and cool. But we had regular phones, right? If we didn't want to talk to people, we fucking picked it up and set it on the counter so that people couldn't even ring through. Right. So that my parents, yeah. We're like, yeah, we don't want to unplug it. Like that's how we did
But the point there is like, if you ever are one of those people that has anxiety about like, oh man, like I just always attach my phone. There is zero fucking obligation for you to give back to anybody at any round timeframe. That was percent right. And 99. I would say 99 .999 infinity. Percent of time there is fucking zero emergency that you need to be picking up your phone 24 seven four. That's actually a good point. How many times do we actually go even crazy over a text and it is as meaningless as possible?
You know what mean? Yeah. I think it's just the society, dude. You know, you get created in this world of just technology where you start just looking for it's almost like perception of time has gone down and it's, if you don't get a response in five seconds, it's, my God, they don't like me. my God. What are they thinking? It's like, dude, my bad. was making breakfast. Yeah. You know, like give me five minutes. It's crazy. But it's like, I just watched the matrix again last week. I'm not surprised. Yeah. love that movie. but the whole idea there is like, there's no emergency. Like unplug.
Get the hell away from it. There is no expectation. It's all stuff that we create in our head of like this. I remember one day, we're gonna see what I was gonna say is that we're freaking programmed for it. I remember one day Kim, she picked up her phone. We were sitting together on the couch. She opened Facebook five times, opened and closed it five times in a row, swiped her screen back and forth a couple of times in between, but she just kept reopening. I'm like, what are you doing? She's like, I don't even know. I'm like, that's a problem.
Isn't that crazy? Yeah, that's a problem. But Kim is literally like one out of every single other person that does it too. Like, I'll do it. I've actually caught myself doing this last week. Dude, I opened up my email and here's the worst part about it. It wasn't even loading because it was something wrong with it. And I opened it up literally multiple times that day. I'm like, dude, I know I can't see the email. Why am I still open this up? Yeah, it's a habit. Do you have like a pattern of your apps that you go through? Absolutely. Absolutely. I could tell you right now. It's like I'll swipe. I'll hit Instagram, pop that up, check, close that.
Check my email, close that, go Facebook, close that, text, close that. That's it. That's how my girl, it's almost identical for me. Dude, that's crazy that it is. But here's, I think here's a good part. OK, because I know we're not the only ones that are going through this. A lot of you guys listen are probably like, damn, that sounds exactly like me. 100 percent. If you were aware of it, that is already like one of the biggest steps, because it's that's all it takes to start moving away from it. And so here's the cool part for me, too. And it's funny that you bring this up now because so Elmer went on a trip, my fiance.
on Thursday. So I basically have all weekend by myself. So I'm going to get away from this and all I'm going to do is text her and tell her just, Hey, I'm going to be doing this, this, this, this. And I'm trying to step away from my phone because I need to do it, and have you, by the way, I forgot to ask you a question. Have you ever heard of the dopamine reset? I've heard of it, but I haven't dove into it. Cause I was like, I don't even know if I'm ready for that. I don't, I don't know if I'm ready for it either, but I haven't dove in it too much, but I think it's something I'm to try because
Makes a lot of sense. I think I read it in the comfort crisis. I think that was where I first started. Yeah, could it could be wrong? It's all over social media now too in certain spots. really? See on my social media doesn't pop up too much but it's something i've been thinking about because I do think there's actual like Real good, positive changes that can be made from just taking a day full of like doping reset and just so you guys kind of know what this what we're talking about
What I've read is basically getting away from like, hey, taking the day off where you're not watching TV, you're not checking your phone. You know, anything that essentially just takes away your attention, like computer games, all this kind of stuff. And just literally given 24 hours where you're not doing anything of it to just get that back into it to play, you know, so I might might do that this weekend. already lost this one. I just Googled it real quick.
And the AI Google that we now have a hold of says, abstaining from drugs, avoiding overstimulating activity, eating a healthy diet, engaging in dopamine boosting activities, practicing mindfulness and getting enough sleep. The sleep one is where it gets me. Yeah. I think there's a couple in there. Yeah. mean, it's such an important thing though. Like if anything, again, that's like a big reason why I tell a lot of my people that I mentored, it is detached for 10 minutes a day. And just to reiterate the point of why I do that guys and help them
it is when you're like you're constantly being bombarded like one of my biggest struggles right now and it's it really is that it's not controlling my emotion but it kind of just pisses me off in a way it's just the amount of the amount of time that we get advertised to like with social media for example like tiktok i used to be able to scroll through tiktok and to see the shit that i wanted to see right well now every freaking other thing is a sponsored or paid for thing i'm like i don't give a shit i don't want to be sold to anymore like i'm just sick of it now social media selling does work of course i
things right shoes I'm wearing right now I bought hey what size shoe do wear? .5 would a 10 .5 fit you? probably okay I might give these to you yeah because I bought them thinking that hey they might fit is a size half a size down oh got it and they're a little bit too tight but they're amazing shoe I'll just put some paper in the front dude I'll make them fit they're tight as fuck so okay they're yours now but yeah so detaching though like you're you're constantly getting things just given to you okay feel this think this you need
in your life. You're not this. So detaching from it allows you to just re -center and become the person or get back to the person that you actually are. Allows you to solve problems, all those things. So detach from everything, including technology, music, you name it. Like just get away from it all, go for a walk. If you can attach to the earth with your bare feet, that's even better. the detaching piece is huge because it also does something to you where it forces you to really see what's going on. You know what I mean? Cause like when you think about like our phone, when you think about our day to day,
It takes up so much of our time and energy that how many times do you have to actually think about like how often are we actually aware of what's going on day to day and how many times are we on autopilot? Because I promise you 95 % of the time it's autopilot. And when you take that just time to detach, it actually opens your eyes to what's going on. And I think it's so important to do, if it your point, even if it is 10 minutes. Cause I think, dude, I've actually thought about this and I don't know if you and I talked about it.
But you know when we think about like training for, you know, a physical goal or training for, don't know, whatever goal you have, right? We set aside time and we're like, all right, I'm gonna go train 30 minutes every single day to get closer to this goal. Okay, and 30 minutes is enough every day to get closer to that goal, right? Well, when you think about the mindset piece, how do you train that? Well, training is happening the moment you wake up.
and you're literally training from the moment you wake up to the moment you go to sleep, right? It's not like you block off the time and you're like, yeah, I'm gonna work out at one o 'clock, one to two. Like mentally and emotionally, and for us to be aware of what's going on in our lives, you're literally training every single moment that you're awake. And I think that's what we forget. And when you stop focusing on like, hey, I'm just gonna go about my day, blah, blah, well, guess what? You are training still, but now you're training in the negative way, right? And I think, especially with the phone, with technology,
Dude, it eats us alive because we're constantly training our brain to not think enough, to be less self -aware, to be more on autopilot, to just go about the day to focus on what the news is saying. And it's crazy how much we're training our brain to go down this way. And I bring that up because it's like even as simple as taking 10 minutes to detach and move away, that is practice. You're practicing even a little bit. And the more that you can do that, the more you start to take control. But I say that because just we have to be aware, man. We have to be aware every single day. And it's tough.
Nothing is black and white, right? But understand that when you wake up, literally the first thought you have, the first moment you wake up, like if you don't start controlling those then it'll only continue to be that way for a long time. You know what I mean? And then all of a sudden, two months later you wake up and you're like, damn, I feel terrible. I don't like this. I don't like that. And it's like, dude, it's because every single day you didn't control it and you let it go by.
So just something I've been thinking about man. It comes back down to being intentional. Yeah It's like you have to be intentional about what's going in it goes back a little bit even to the subconsciousness you mentioned a minute ago about Being on autopilot cool autopilot is not necessarily a bad thing if it's all good stuff If you're on autopilot of doing things that are progressing your life forward awesome but the key and there's something that Dina brought up a few podcasts ago is like just being intentional and like Being where you are being present like when you talk about subconscious about stopping the
sign I think about that every time I blew through it this morning because I told you I'm probably gonna do it I'll stop at other places I usually don't stop. did you think about it? I did
That's all that matters. That's a seed that's in there, right? So to the point that I want to make with it is when a seed goes in there, it's a choice whether or not you give that seed water or you fertilize that seed. So and that's all that it is. This isn't going to be like a click I got it. But like when you wake up, cool, I don't want to think negative thoughts today. Cool. Well, you planted that seed and when a negative thought pops in, you're going to think about, I don't want to do that. And then you're going to realign yourself. And it's the intentionality of just lining yourself, giving yourself that daily intent. Rock and rolling.
I wanna, I'll even add this. When you say intent, I would add it to just make a choice. you know, cause I think sometimes intent people are like, man, what does that mean? You know, how do I dive into that? Well, it's like, what choice do you want to make? Like who do you want to be? You know, intent is that it's just choosing it. Just make a choice, you know, whatever choice you make, that is where the intention from that comes from, you know?
Yeah, we always get so good and hot and heavy into this and we're like we're freaking good at what we do I just want to say that this isn't like an ego thing but like man too kind bro. This is the way we roll these conversations They're just so natural. I appreciate that dude. I like it. I agree, too Hopefully you guys hopefully you guys like it. Yeah. Well, I mean I'm just having fun. So I have to bid I do we rock and roll Fuck I had something dude. I wanted to bring up. I don't know. It's gone. I lost it. Yeah
I lost it brother. I lost it. We can jump in. All right, I'm ready. I gave you the notes over there so you can see what we got in the screen. I'll stay on. So guys today we want to talk about some things as far as moving forward and some things that we need to give up. Okay, where this kind of spawned in my mind as far as like a topic goes is with a fitness journey. I'm talking on my Instagram stories not long ago about most people when they start a fitness journey, they think about all the things that they have to leave behind and it creates this fear.
right? And the fear is, like, hey, I can't eat the foods that I want to eat anymore. I can't this lounge around, I have to be more intentional. Maybe you're thinking that with a lot of this stuff that we've talked about. But the truth of the matter is, is that we have to get into a spot where it's the fear of not moving forward.
or the fear in a health sense here, it's like, Hey, you fear all these things that you have to give up. But where we need to place that fear is say, like, if you don't get yourself healthy, what's going to happen, right? Especially if you're not in a really good spot, health wise now, it's like not just about fat loss, more so health. But it's like, we have to kind of move that fear away from the things that you're going to lose to the things that you're going to gain or things that you won't gain if you don't move it forward. Right. So really what we wanted to kind of hit on today is like just a list of things that we've come up with that, like, you have to let
things go if you're going to move forward, right? Period. it's just today we're ripping the bandaid off. I hate to tell people that there's an absolute situation with this, but you guys here is talking about energy all the time. And a lot of this of what we compiled into a list is like, it's an energy type of a thing. It's like, if you're operating out of a place of black or an old energy or a low vibration, you're not going to get to where you want to go. Right? So, something that I kind of correlated to this, and this is, this is not really in the list, but something that I've been talking about this week with my people.
is time in the future does not exist, right? And it's the thing about the future is if you are looking at, I'm gonna be that person then, or hey, I'm gonna have this then, you're immediately already operating out of a place of lack because you're detached from whatever it is or whoever it is that is in that future place. Because the future is not real, it doesn't exist, we've been lied to, right? So the thing you have to understand is no, I'm just gonna be that now. And then where the visualization loop comes in, it's the actions and the habits that you embed every day of becoming that person.
Right. then guess what? As you're living in the present moment, being that best version of yourself, you will continue to gain positive things because your vibrational frequency is very high. It goes back to what we just talked about with the training. Yeah. You're training. Exactly. Every day. And I think that's one of the best ways to look at it, because I think sometimes we don't see the progress made that way. But it's like if you take a fitness journey, for example, dude, how long does it take for you to actually start to see even a little bit of result? Six weeks. And that's just like just to start.
Yeah, dude, but then after that, hey, two, three months later after that, then it's like, holy shit, look at the impact. And I would consider this very much in the same line, right? Where it's, you have to be present at all times. And the more that you can do it, it's going to be tough, but the more that you can do it, it'll open your mind to, Hey, okay, cool. Look at what I can do now to get to this person here. And to what Josh is saying, the reason when you look at that future self and you're like, one day I'll have that or one day I'll be this or one day I'll do this. You're telling the present.
that you don't have the things now, that you don't have the resources. Bro, that's bullshit. And you'll never have it. You'll never have it. Every time I use this, and I know it's a major example of success, but if you look at some of the most successful people and then you backtrack all the way to where they started.
paper they should not be where they are and then it's like why did they get there they never had all the resources they didn't have all the tools so what is the difference yeah well they did it's we don't think they had all the tools to us we think there's some kind of secret there's no fucking secret and dude that's what I'm starting to realize more is that I think we try to find like
Just like for someone to say hey all you got to do is hey show up every day put in the time have the right intent think the positive way you know put out good energy be good to people and your life will happen the way you want it to be like no dude that's too simple there's got to be secret bro there's no fucking secret. Consistency and time. That's it. It's so freaking true and even as we say that
There's people listening. They're like, nope, it's not it. No, it is. It is. Yes. Yes. It is. Now the reason why a lot of people say this is my opinion. The reason why I think a lot of people say that is because they haven't identified where they want to be. Right. And they use that as an excuse of, it doesn't work. No way. Well, you don't know where you're going. So figure out where you're going and then just give it that time, consistency and energy. Other reason is sometimes people don't know what to do. You know, we're here to teach you what to do. So I love that. Yeah. All righty. Josh, do you want to kick off? I got it on my screen. do you already? Yeah. That's why
It's fancy app, you know, we got these things called apps where it happens on the screen here I can see what you got over there. I'm you know, I'm a foreigner. So I'm still getting used to it. I still actually have a dinosaur at home that drives me. Yeah, but you're old school. Yeah, bro. I'm like the Flintstones, bro. My name is Dino. You got to remember that Dino the dinosaur. come on. Now. All right. Guys, here's Yes, go ahead. Yeah, let's dive in. I want to start out though with one thing and I put that at the top. I'm not sure if you know what that means. But
A lot of us listening to this podcast, we operate out of a place of even here at headquarters, right? Hey, you never quit. Like there's always a way to move forward, even if it's very slow, very like whatever, you Inside of the book, Leadership Strategy and Tactics, Jaco talks about tactical strategy.
and like tactical goals and strategic goals, right? So a strategic goal would be an example of, hey, I'm moving in the direction of making myself the absolute best version of myself possible. This is the life that I want big picture. It's a bigger, broader scope of what you're doing. Tactical is what you do on a day to day in order to make that strategic goal happen, right? So what he talks about in that book though, is there are certain situations in a tactical sense that you probably should quit.
Right. And their example he gives in the book is, you know, there's a barricaded shooter at the end of a hallway and it's a training exercise and seal after seal after seal runs down the hallway and they just keep dying. Right. And then they reset the drill and they say like, what are we going to do? Let's debrief real quick. Come up with a better game plan. Let's go do it again. Well, they go back into the building and then they start doing the exact same game plan and four seals die. he says, hold on, what are we doing here? Like, what are you guys doing? And he's sitting on the outside watching this and they're like, hey, the mission
to take out this like clear this building and clear the room or clear the hallway is what they said. And he goes, no, the mission is to clear the building. There's probably a better way to get to where the shooter is. And, you know, it took that that Navy SEAL that was leading this to detach completely. And of course, Jaco kind of pointed in the direction. But in that situation, that is a tactic in the overall strategy of like, no, we need to clear this building for the bigger strategy of winning the war. Well, you don't have to keep going about it the same way. So in that sense, it is perfectly OK to quit.
That's that tactic and figure out something else. It's gonna work. So in this sense with us, it's like, alright Well, maybe you are going down this path of making yourself the best version yourself Okay, maybe you have some type of tactic that you're operating on. It's just not producing for you Now the key other the key thing I'll give you is give it 30 days, right at the end of the 30 days Doing a little bit of an audit of like, alright,
Where are we at? Again, to Dino's point just a minute ago, you're not going to see huge gains, but you should start seeing some flowers coming up a little bit, right? If you're not, okay, well, maybe we need to readjust and come up with a new tactic and quit that one altogether. So the idea here of these, these, this list that we came up with is again, like the faster you do this, the better off you're going to be to be able to move yourself forward. And of course this is an absolute list. There's a lot, but we tried to pick things that we didn't talk about before that can kind of just elaborate on. So that's how I wanted to kind of start out. I like that dude.
That's a solid example. Like that is a really solid example. think oftentimes man we get stuck into feeling like
Because you hear it all the time, Like the never give up, right? Never give up, never quit attitude. But never quit doesn't mean you never adjust or never look at a different way to attack it. Right? Because like even let's use that example of that mission that they're trying to handle. Well, that's not going to be the same mission every single time. Right? Right. Well, how you go about that mission is going to be different and everyone's going to have a different mission they're doing. So the tactics are going to be different for everybody. How I always looked at this was, honestly, this is what helped me out in soccer a lot, but I reverse engineered.
So I would go to, what is the best that I want to be? Like, how does that look like? Who is that person? What does he do? How does he act? Cool. And once I do that, I'm like, okay, how do I do something every single day to get closer to that? Right. And here's a little bit of my breakdown and I'll keep this general because not everyone's a soccer player, right.
Let's say I took Ronaldo and I was like, okay, what makes him so great? Yeah, he has the skill set, but there's something else and it's the mindset. Okay. And I'm like, clearly I knew I have to practice because I got to know how to kick a ball. got that as part of it. got the mindset, not that skill. Yeah. I got the other piece, you know, but dude, I looked at that and I was like, okay, I know how to do this. And then, okay, I took soccer and I was like, okay, what do need to get better at soccer? So dribbling the ball, right? Learning how to move. I need to be quick. I need to learn how to shoot. I need to learn how to pass.
Well, I adjusted my drills every single day based on those things. Okay. Well, so that means I'm getting a little better at each of those sections every single day. Then I took the mindset side. This is where that athlete mindset book came
with hey goals, visualizing, meditating. And that's what I did. I was like, how do I get better at the mindset? How do I get better physically? And I just reverse engineered to hey, break it down my drills into hitting all those things that I need to get better in those areas. But then did the same thing with mindset. And that's how my day list or my power list started. It was that simple. But, and I say that because essentially that's what you're talking about, right? It's reverse engineer. Look at, hey, big picture, we got to get this done. How do we get it done? What if we did this with this and this and this? That's almost the fun part.
when you guys do this to trust that plan. This is a hard part for me is even when I reverse engineered.
The reason I don't think I trust it was because I didn't believe in myself enough at the time. So remember that piece, right? Because what happens is we're going to try to like, there's no way this is the right plan. It's got to be some secret. There's no secret dude. If you do that consistently enough, you're going to win. Right? Like even with a fitness journey, it's not black and white. I promise you if someone is 70 % clean or someone is 80 % clean or 90%, they're all going to get results. It might be a little bit different, but they're all getting results. That's how you got to think about it. So sorry, someone want to throw out there.
got a question to follow on with that. it was a point I was gonna make, but I'm gonna ask you the question. So when you realized and started making that game plan of like, not this, I need to improve these skills. This tactical thing I'm doing right now is not working. Once it started working, did you just say the hell with it? I'm just gonna keep doing exactly what I'm doing? Or did you try to find ways to improve even when it was working? That's a good question. So a little bit of both. Cause I looked at both areas. I was like, okay, well, do I continue just doing this exact same thing? Or is there a little bit I can
on it. And to be honest, the side I always leaned on was there's always more to improve. Right? Because once I started doing those things, at first it was difficult and then you get a little bit comfortable with it. Right? It gets a little bit easier. So now my next focus is, okay, hey, I touched the ball well, can I touch it better? You know, what did I do? And I start looking at the nitty gritty of the details of my training. And that actually helped a lot propel
from hey the 30 days or 60 days or whatever and then it was like okay now I do the same thing but a little bit better now I do the same thing but maybe a little bit faster and you would adjust little pieces but you don't change the full game plan if that makes sense you just improve it a little bit and that's how we got there to that point right you want to be better at passing kicking all that right and shooting so like maybe you just started out with this a shooting drill hey I'm gonna do a stationary shooting drill well maybe then you started dribbling that's exactly it and then you started passing to yourself and then kicking right so nailed it on the head
the whole point I wanted to make there guys is when like the audits that we typically do in life for these tactical changes are like, is this working? Is it not working? We tend to only focus on when it's not working. And then we panic. And again, you're operating out of a place of lack when your focus is where it's not working. Right. So it's very important to also audit when it's working to figure out a, what can I improve on this and do a little bit better? Or maybe this isn't the best way. Maybe it's just one of the ways that I found that works. There's probably a better way to do it. Right. But the second thing with that is then audit back to like, this isn't going
be a linear straight up to the moon rocket, where it's like, okay, it's always going to work. It's always going to be great. Well, eventually you're going to fall away from it. And if you know what you were doing when you were winning, you can go back to it. Right? It's the idea of having a power list where you write a W at the top of the page, because eventually you're going to start losing you can flip back, hey, what was I doing 60 days ago when I was winning? Oh, shit. I was listening to this podcast called the process of becoming and my mindset was rocket like iron iron clad, whatever it is. So but it's very important to do that. So
to belabor a point dude i love that bro you it's funny because i know you're not a soccer player whatsoever i mean that kind of am you just i just i've been playing you i'm gonna hustle you yeah yeah that's what you've been doing this whole time this is this is his whole strategy yeah yo but dude i think that's a very very fucking solid point and and the fact that you broke it down that way man i think it's just a testament
how often we try to come up with a perfect plan. But at the end of the day, guess what? You're not a soccer player. And if you just did what you just told me in two years from now, you'd be one of the best. Maybe a little bit longer, right? But you'd be 10 times better than you'd ever imagine that you could be. But it's that simple, dude. And guess what? You're not, it's not the most perfect plan, but it's a plan.
And I think we also get stuck up on that. Like everything has to be perfect. Yeah. Fuck no, just do it. It'll work out. Dude, I just thought of something I want to give. I know we're making this longer. It needs know. It's okay. You just gave me something and this is something called an OODA loop. All right. You ever hear of the OODA loop? No, I've heard of OODA loop. Okay. So an OODA loop is a decision making process. And I taught this to some of the people that I mentor, the higher level people. It's literally how every decision gets made.
every decision that we do gets made this way.
And I didn't come up with this. is Dave Burke and Jocko. This is like a fighter pilot thing. So, but I've taught this a bunch of different times. Every decision gets made using an OODA loop. It's O -O -D -A loop. Okay. It's a loop because you continually go back through it. And once you understand this, allows you to make better decisions, but it also, it helps you understand that there is no infinite or I'm sorry, there is no definite decision. Okay. The only thing that you have is your best guess. Like, Hey, I don't like, it'd be so beautiful if we live this life where it's like, I'm to make this decision. It's
to work out this thousand percent. It would be awesome. I would love that. It doesn't work that way. Right. So the only thing that's certain in life is death and taxes. So but within with the first, it's observe. OK, so you're going to observe what's going on around you. OK, you're going to observe all the data that you're bringing in, all the inputs, the outputs. You're going to observe the situation. OK, the second one is orient. You're going to start making kind of positioning yourself to move in whatever direction that data is pushing you to move. OK, the D is decide. You're going to make a decision based off the input that you got. OK, the
is ACT.
So once you get that decision, now you're going to act. And as soon as you start acting, you're starting to observe again. All right, cool. So, and the idea here is it's allowing you to make small, this is called the process of iterative decision making. So you're to make iterative decisions instead of one giant decision. And what happens and why this is a fighter pilot situation is when you're, when you're flying in a fighter pilot, if you make a definite decision that's wrong, you're at hundreds of thousands of miles off course, or you're crashing into a mountain or something bad is going to happen. So the faster that you move
goal or in life, it's important that you do this as a loop because you're constantly observing, you're orienting yourself in the right position, deciding and acting, and then you can immediately take whatever feedback you have from that action. And it's like, no, this isn't working. I'm going to observe, orient, decide and act in a different way. Right. So it's amazing thing. And that if you understand how that works with decision -making, a, you don't have to fear of like, I don't know if this is going to be the right process. No, just take in whatever data you're getting and make a different decision. Right. So I think, you know, it's crazy.
We honestly, I believe all of us do that, but not in the most positive way because usually it's based on fear, some of these other things. And when Josh is saying data and inputs, it's the things that you're seeing like that are true, right? Like that this is what it is. It's not just like, feel this, right? Because that's also important because dude, there's, you know what I mean? Like, dude, here's a great example. I've led, you know, I've got a chance to lead a lot of people over my time here, but
The amount of times I've had conversations with people where they're frustrated about something or they're angry or mad or upset. And then I'm like, why? You get into that, think of it. And then I'm like, have you had a conversation with this person? Or have you checked this out? And then the answer is no. And I'm like, voila. And guess what? Dude, they go do it they're like, my God, how'd you know? I'm like, dude, the reason I knew is because I just saw the missing piece. I have no emotional attachment to this, but we get emotionally attached instead of just like, hey, remove your
you go and go have this conversation. How I always looked at it, dude, is I remove myself from any situation. I look at it from third person point of view. Now, this is not always perfect. I'm not perfect at this. You don't, you're never going to be perfect at this, but dude, it helps because it's that simple of like information or thing that you need to do where oftentimes we let our feelings dictate a lot of that action. And it's as simple as just like, take the right data. What's actually true. What is there? What do I know? What don't I know? Cool. I had that exact leadership situation. I do the same thing. That is exact
this week. I'm like, listen, hey, you're going off in all these directions. What do you actually know is true? This. Now that's the feeling. What do you know is actually true? And we finally got down to what was true and I was okay. So are any of those feelings that you have valid or real? No. Okay. And it immediately lifted it off of their chest. Dude, it's crazy how much free you feel, right? Right when someone opens that door for you. So there's a lot of parents listening, guys. That is also a tip for your teenage kids or pre -teens when they're freaking out and getting
all emotional, slow them down. Hey, what do you actually know is true in this? Right? We that we deal with this with my daughter at school with girls stuff and all that. It's like, they hate me this and I know what do know is true? Well, I heard this, that's not true. What do you know? Right? So very important. Believe half of what you see and nothing of what you hear facts.
facts and I throw another little nugget in there is we tend to judge others on their actions and our self on our intentions. that's a huge one, brother. Dude. Okay, man. I know we're getting sidetracked here a little bit. I think it's already. The fact that just hit on that man is something I've been thinking about a lot because you know, I mean you go back and forth on thinking about life, the world, all that kind of stuff. But where I've seen
leaders and people in life, parents, all this stuff, especially parents, is the assumption of intent. We assume that we know why someone is doing what they're doing without ever asking them, without knowing who they are, without ever talking to them. And it's crazy because guess what? What if we did that to ourselves? We'd be like, what? You can't, that's not fair. You don't know that. Why are we doing it to other people?
Bro, the amount of conversations, the amount of relationships, the amount of opportunities we miss just because we assume someone's intent instead of taking the time to get to know what it is, mind blowing, bro. You know what's also funny? Half the time we don't really know what our own intent is. know what I mean? But I say that because assumption, and I love this, it makes an ass out of you and me, right? When you assume. And it's like the most freeing thing ever in the world when you don't assume, you know? And again, it's a skill, you know? But when you can detach and not assume things,
your life is 10 times better because you start to see things for what they really are. know what I mean? And I think it's so important to you, because in life we do it very often. We assume, I've done it myself and there's times where I'll go weeks with doing that and I take a step back and I'm like, what the hell have you been doing,
and it's emotional, right? It's ego driven. So I bring that up because parents, leaders, business owners, whether you're just someone just working or doing something or just wanting to be a better person, don't assume things. You know what I mean? It is the fastest way to cut out any opportunity and close every fucking door in your way. Yeah. I'm going to use that word assume. But one of the things that I teach a lot of my people is always assume positive intent.
Right. Or, or believe positive intent is a better way to put it. And then the tactical part is ask questions. you can, it's easy to like, to your point to get butthurt of like something you think is happening or a conversation you thought was had, or, that person didn't execute on that task. Cool. Well, I'm not going to get fired up and mad about it. I'm going to go figure out why. And I'm going to like in that situation, I'm going to believe that they had the best intent in mind. That like something probably just happened, you know, like if I have a call and someone misses it, it would be easy to get angry for that meeting of like, dang, I just wasted 30 minutes.
But it's like, no, like, man, I really hope they're okay. This person is not in their character to miss a meeting. like something probably happened, which is keeping them from being here. It changes the whole course of your life when you do that, because guess what? Like it's a lot less stressful. Josh, when you and I know we've done this before, all of us have, right? But the times that you have assumed those things, how much more has it affected everything else in your life when you have, like, let's say that 30 minutes, let's say you did think all that person's wasting my time. Does that bleed into
other area that you've seen? 100%. Yeah, 100%. And then the other thing that happens is the big reason why I stopped doing that specifically in that scenario and overall is because I did assume that one time I'm like, what a freaking a hole I got so angry. Just because I had a stressful day and like that just made it worse. But then I found out that something bad did happen. And I was like, dude, what? I'm an idiot. Right? So it's like, man, and then obviously just working on my own mindset. But yeah, I believe that your your energy and emotion bleed into everything. And a perfect example of that is next time
a day that's not really going your way, ask yourself did I have a bad day or did I have 10 minutes that I let go of my entire day? That's such a good question, you because I promise you it's more of this latter. It's always the latter. My mom's told me something and I know we're still kind of off track, but I like this. hope you guys enjoy this. But something my mom used to say is sometimes people are put in your life at certain moments because
to check if you're going to judge them and how you're going to treat them. Right. you know, all of us are put here for a reason. Right. Everyone has a purpose. Everyone's unique. Everyone's got things. But sometimes there are certain moments where it's like you are the movie star and sometimes you are the cast member. Right. And sometimes those cast members are put there to see how are you going to treat them? How are you going to judge them? And that and God pays attention. Right. Like God pays attention to those things. You know, like, hey, if someone's struggling or someone's like, what are you going to think about them? Do judge them?
because guess what, that will bring everything to you the same thing you brought to that person. Right? So it's like whatever in that moment is so huge, you know? So I think that's another piece that I just want to throw out there because it's like, remember man, like sometimes the people that you meet don't be quick to judge because guess what? You wouldn't want that for you. So why would you do that for someone else?
So this experience called life is pretty amazing. It is brother. Look at us. All right. Here we go. All right. Let's dive in guys. Thanks for the patience here. Thank you. have any minutes into this. are where we are here. We are currently 35 minutes in and we are now getting into the topic. I think there's a lot of value there, but the things that guys, what we want to talk about today is a list of things to give up if you want to move forward in life. Okay.
And again, I'm come at this from an absolute. I can tell you for sure that if you let these things go and give these things up, your life will get better, right? So, do know you wanna rock and roll with time with number one? Yeah, absolutely. So the biggest one is time sucks that don't serve you. Yep, so.
Things in life that are literally pulling away and draining your time. Because guys, time is one of those things that we don't get back. So time sucks. When I put that on the list, it's like Netflix. Correct. Right. TikTok. Scrolling social media instead of using it for a tool for your business or whatever it is. These are all things that don't serve you. mean, the list could go on and on, but we all have these things that we're just giving time to. And then we just have this assumption that, it's going to be fine. I got more. OK. Until you don't.
Right. too late. Right. So from that standpoint, there's, there's so much that you can do in that time. And one of the things that I can relate to this, and I know you can as well, cause you've done it a bunch of times is 75 heart, right? Like how many times in 75 heart do you kind of get that like negative mindset? She's like, man, this freaking second 45 minute workout. And then you're like, I could be doing so much during this. And then you stop doing that second workout a couple of a week or so after you finished 75 hard. And then you're like, okay, like I can get a hell of a lot done in that 45 minute timeframe. Cause I'm more disciplined in my time now.
So same type of idea it's like are you staying up on your phone scrolling Instagram or tik -tok for until midnight when you should be asleep at 10 I'm sure you are because we all do it y 'all do it right So what things it's really just taking an intentional audit of your day and be like what things in my life and this isn't just with time But other things as well what things are not serving you what serve no purpose to the ultimate vision of who you want to be or where you're going That was percent and something that I want to throw into this because what you're talking about is you know not just one particular thing but like let's look at it time
family. You know, it's like, okay, hey, when you're, let's say you're going to spend 30 minutes with your family. Well, what are you talking about in that time as well? You know, it's like, how are you spending those 30 minutes? How are you spending that hour? Right? Even if you look at it at work, okay, cool. You're working for an hour, but what are you really doing in that hour? Right? And it's again, it's small bites at a time. Even let's say you are scrolling through TikTok, Instagram, whatever. And let's say it's seven hours. What Josh and me are talking about, what Josh and I have talked about, even at the beginning of this, it's small bites, right? Okay, cool. Seven hours. How do I bring this down a little bit? You don't got to go from
7 to 0, but 7 to maybe 630, from 630 to 6. And just slowly bring those things down. So when we're talking about that time sucks, it doesn't mean you go from 0 to 100 or 100 to 0, right? It's like, hey, you see this problem, it's at 50. How do I bring it down to 48, 47, 49, all the way down to where I need to control
But time is not just Netflix and all these things. It's also what are you doing at work? What are you doing outside of work? What are you doing with your family? How are you spending that time? Yeah, that was actually one that I didn't consider, but that is gold. One of the things that help people struggle through, or help people with when they struggle, is that whole family aspect. It's like, man, I'm with my family, but I just don't feel like I'm present. Okay, well, that's to your point. That's a great addition to that. It's like, okay, well, what are you doing with that time when you are there? Is it invested or is it spent?
you doing stuff with your kids and playing with them or you just let them sit on an iPad because it's easier for you? 100%. I think a lot of the reason we feel that way that we're not present is because our minds not present. Yeah. Right. What are we thinking about? That's like the best question. If you want to get ahead of this is when you get to that spot, like let's say you're spending time with the family and you know, normally you're you've been struggling to be present. Well, just ask yourself, okay, what am I thinking about now? What's most important right now? Yep. And just ask that question, answer it. And then it's going to be the first thing in front of you. it. Yep. The thing with
guys and this is just a simple question you can ask yourself okay in order to get where you want to go that vision of the person that you're becoming right now is what things do you need to start saying no to in your life
that with some of the people I mentor this week. We all know there's things in our life that we should be saying no to. Right. Perfect example is back when I was building my business in health and fitness before working at First Form. My father -in loved him, but every Sunday he would just expect us to be at his house. And as my business grew, I needed that time to actually invest in my business. And we would just go there. To your point, we'd just be there. And I'm just hanging out like, okay, all the cousins around and I'm the one that has to wrangle them and keep them from killing themselves because everybody else is relaxing. Well, eventually it got to a point where I was like, this is no longer serving me to
Like it's like I'm not developing relationships. I'm not like it's just I'm here and I say no to that and it was caused from feathers ruffled some feathers But guess what? I knew what my outcome was supposed to be and I wanted to work towards that and here I am So I think that's a beautiful view to what we just talked about right because we were looking at it from a way of like families always positive time It's not always you know, sometimes it can be too detrimental. It could be not serving you right and it's funny how it goes There's always a dichotomy to everything you're gonna see everything we talked about. That's a great example of that. I'm glad you threw that out
man. All what's next on the list? You can grab whichever one you want. You can go in order. I like this one. Let's see. And I put this one
Well, actually we've kind of talked about some of these things like negative people in your life conversations that revolve around negativity gossip or just things that Pass this remember when we did this remember when we did this now I'm not saying that's not okay, right? Because they're so you know when you spend time with friends and it's okay to catch up here and there but when that's a lot of your conversation That's wrong, right? Like it'll take up a lot of your time again going back to what the time stuff What is sucking your time? What is not serving you? I would consider that
But one thing I want to pull out of this, I know this is something you talked about, but constantly over consuming alcohol. And I would even throw in drugs and that kind of stuff here. Right. Because for me, you know, I'm never, I'm not a big drinker, never really was. I grew up with people who were, and I just got to see things at an early age from, you know, family members, friends. And, you know, of course, like I went to parties and stuff, but I was very controlling of myself. Like I always had that.
That's something my mom really embedded in me, right? Is be careful who you're around, be careful what you're doing, pay attention to certain things.
So that was always one for me that I never struggled with too much, but I saw a lot of people that have and I saw what it's done to them, right? From both the drug standpoint and from the alcohol standpoint. And this is something I know you have a lot of experience with. Can you dive into it, explain it a little bit? How does this look? How does this feel? And what's been ways for you to get out of this? Cause dude, you're a fucking like, dude, your story through this process is amazing because you've gone through a lot of those things, man. And you beat them. You know what I mean? Like you have taken what we're talking about and you've
So yeah.
The thing to point out here is this is consistently over consuming, right? So having a beverage from time to time is not a bad thing. I've chosen to kind of remove alcohol from my life completely. And I won't say 100 % completely, but 99%. Summer smash is usually the time where I drink and have fun with friends, but that's pretty much it. And really where my mind goes with this, guys, is alcohol is a sedative for your brain, right? That's what it does. basically like numbs and puts sleep parts in your brain and it's a poison or a toxin, so to speak, which it technically is.
But even more so is like from it, like there's a reason why they call hard liquor spirits.
Right now, I encourage you if you got some time to dive into that and look into why I'm not going to cover it on the show today. But it's a bad thing for you from an energy standpoint. It's a bad thing for you from a sedating your brain, which is literally your cognitive function and all those other things. But even more so is like alcohol. This doesn't serve you like what does it do positively for you? Right. So for me, like going through this, like there was weekends, like years where every single weekend I would over consume alcohol. And I just kept telling myself, this is fun. It's my way to relax. And I was lying to myself in that sense. But there was
those two to three days afterwards where I was just down in the dumps. was depressed, right? And again, look into why it's called spirits. It's kind of by design. It's one of these weird things where it's like, all right, you look at like psychedelics, for example, there is so much positive science to psychedelics, but yet they're illegal. Okay, they heighten your mood, they help with depression and anxiety. But yet you look at alcohol, and it is not only legal, but it is advertised everywhere. It is socially fun. It's a good thing. No, it isn't. There is nothing
that positive that comes from it, right?
You know, I could say that, you know, let's leave that out. But guys, the idea of overconsuming is, is it's suppressing the best version of yourself possible just to keep it real simple. So for me, I started recognizing that in my life. I'm like this, what am I even doing here? Like this isn't worth it to drink for two days, three days, overconsume alcohol during football season, and then spend until Wednesday, like trying to get myself emotionally back to my center and then doing it again, Friday, Saturday, Sunday. yeah, it is man. And it's like nothing positive was happening in my life.
remove it, guess what? Clear cognitive thought, better energy frequencies, realizing that, I don't need to have that to have fun. can have better conversations, make more meaningful friendships. And here we are, right? So again, over consuming, look into the spirits things. I think some of you will find that pretty fascinating. I'm going to be looking at that. I could kind of already piece things together just from knowing you in our conversations that I know where this is going. But
Man, it's, it's, I think it's a really good point, dude, you know, and you can tie in drugs to this too, right? Because at the end of the day, it's a way for us to escape and be someone different, you know, now is that always the case? No, sometimes it's dressed up as, we just want to have fun or I it's my way of relaxing, but it's like really get down to the deep root of why you're doing it. Right. And I say this too, with not, with no judgment, you know, like even if you are someone who fucking drinks every day, okay, cool. It's not the best thing to do, but no one's judging, like people judge we're not because at the end of the day, it's like, dude,
have proof of this. We have all gone through things in our lives where we're not happy about, but because if we'd never gone through those things, we'd never be here though. So it's like, those are things that are part of your story if you allow it to be, if you make that change. So it's like, dude, going back to the thing that you always talk about, the thing that you listen to is that Joe Rogan podcast, or just that clip where he talks about being the hero of your own life, being the movie star of your own life, and picturing yourself like, this is day one. It's like, what is he doing? How does he get to where he wants to go? And with this, I think that is one of the best ways
to unlock that, right? Dude, this actually takes me to a little bit of a study I heard. And I don't know if I don't think I've shared this with you, but they did a study where they took kids and they had them solve this like impossible puzzle. Okay. Like it was impossible. Like it's not going to get solved. And they took one group over here. They're like, Hey, just solve this puzzle. And then they took another group and they're like, Hey, solve this puzzle, but do it with your favorite superheroes cape, like be your favorite superhero.
And what they found was the group that had the superhero capes spent like 30, 40 minutes longer on average on that puzzle than the group that was just, go solve it. And again, impossible puzzle. And this group, because they thought they were superheroes and saw themselves in that way,
They spent more time trying to figure it out. I say this because when you think about like an addiction or you think about stuff in some of these old patterns, dude, become that superhero. Who is that superhero? You are a superhero. And if you can change your mind to view that way.
You're gonna do what a superhero fucking does. You know, and it's it's like you almost have to create a different identity of yourself. That's where I was gonna go. And dude, I want to tie in Kobe Bryant to this because a lot of people might not know this but Mamba mentality or the black Mamba it all started because of this identity shift, right? Because Kobe knew that he can't be the same Kobe off the field that he is on the field. And you guys can see this in I forgot what's that Netflix show, the dream team. I think it's called something like that one. It's awesome.
The very first clip is Kobe literally running through his best friend because they're playing and just dogs him. But it's like, dude, that mentality, it's like, how does he do that? That's someone who's your best friend, do that. But it's like, and now I know this is Kobe Bryant, know, a top level athlete, someone who was a legend, a hall of famer, one of one. But guess what? You can be that in your own life in some way, or form. But who is that identity? Who are you? And it's almost like, dude, we used to do that as kids often.
and go back to that.
Right? Because man, become that superhero and enjoy it because you could be a superhero as a dad. could be a, you know, you could be the best person at your job who takes care of the people that, don't have that person for like, there's so many opportunities to be that superhero with superhero you want to be. And it is okay to have that little bit of imagination and creativity. And, know, I use that study because man, guess what? Those kids were still not that different guys. Like the only difference is we have more responsibility and suppressed a lot of those creativity, that imagination. So we got to bring it
out because that is the key for us doing everything we can become that person and it's a lot easier to make those shifts when you do.
Another study that was done along those lines is they actually studied like a very large group of children from the time they were toddlers to the time they were 13 years old. And what they found was that the vast majority of children up until age seven, test out on a genius scale. Like all of them test on like a genius level because of the creativity, the imagination, the ability to know how to think. Right. Why do you think they stop at the age of seven and it starts to decline to age of 13, where it's basically very limited?
Well, if it was up to me, see. So fifth grade, you're in kindergarten, right?
Parents, it's what you're being told, right? How to act, what to do. You're getting more of that than when you're kind of a little kid. Not that you're not getting it, but it's way more real, right? Like you're going through that period of, know, puberty is coming up too, right? And so I think it's the parents, I think it's the school system, and I think it's the teachers. I think that's really what happens. And then obviously society, news, all that kind of stuff, and social media. That's where my mind goes. Yeah, that's it. That's what they tied the study to was the school systems, because like you put a kid in a seat and just tell them to sit still, stop being
and just do what I tell you to do. Learn how to take a test, not learn how to actually think. Remember this information so you can regurgitate at the end of the week on a quiz. So we take away the creative ability. So where you're going with that superhero scenario, first thing I thought of was number one, childlike belief. When we were kids, we believed that we were that superhero. We could be anything. You can still believe that way. You just stop learning how to do it. So this is what we're trying to do is help you unlock that again. It's repressed. And the second thing you already hit there was the imagination.
imagination is nothing more than visualization. did it a ton of skits. That's exactly right. Bro, we pictured we pictured all the things we wanted to do. Right. There was a movie and I'm to date myself here. But there was a movie called Commando. Right. And Commando is an Arnold Schwarzenegger movie. Okay. seen it. There was a thing back in the day before a VCR, which half of you probably don't even know what a VCR is called beta disc. So there was a beta disc, which is like basically a huge floppy disc, like three and half inch floppy, but huge. And I literally melted that thing because I watched that movie so many times. But
in my imagination I was that guy right so my dad used to tell me hey if you eat your lime of beans you look like Rambo I'm like bullshit I haven't eaten lime of beans I still don't look like Rambo so it's so funny because dude you saying that helps me understand you even more yeah like it helps me understand who you are you know because I spent a lot of time with you but it's like when you go travel to this like I do that imagination is coming true bro it's really fucking coming true but that's incredible bro I understand that you had all these things as kids you had the belief you had the visualization we just lost how to do it
when you went and this takes us right into number three on the list is getting rid of old belief systems. You have to remove old belief systems. So an old belief system could be something along the lines of, like I can't do that. Right. Right. I don't have the ability to bullshit. You used to do it all the time when you were a kid. You've proven yourself and you can even think back to all the things that you imagined to be the belief that you had that you were that right. We all put on the freaking Batman mask and rethink we're Batman. So, but along the lines of the old belief systems guys, I wanted to kind of elaborate a little bit more on some other things. It's the idea.
that hey, is gonna like whatever the past was that equals the future. And where my brain goes with that is like, it's from it. Let's go like tie this one in the money, right? So, oh man, it took me, you know, maybe nine years of working on my career to make $100 ,000. Okay, well, that doesn't mean it's gonna take you nine more years to hit 200 ,000. Right? It doesn't have to. But if you tell yourself that it's going to probably will. Right? So there is this compounding effect of life of who you're becoming, of the mindset of the skill sets that you're learning, but it only equals a shorter
distance in the future if you apply those skill sets and you believe that it can happen. Right. So, and again, going back to like, it's so hard. This is like knowing my family's done this. Cool. Well, that's an old belief system you have to let go of. Dude, I love that one. I think, I think there's a lot that can be said, especially about our old belief systems, because if you really think about it, who we are today, right, is all driven on that.
But that doesn't mean that's you have to stay and be for the rest of your life. know, like, dude, going back to being a kid and imagination, it's like, you can recreate that thought process.
You know, and here's a cool part. I don't know if you guys know this, but there's been proven facts that you can literally change your DNA through thought alone. And it's like, the thing that we thought we were born with, the thing that we're going to have is also the thing now we can change where now we couldn't. So if you ever thought that, who you are now is who you're to be stuck with. That's a bullshit lie. I'll tell you that right now, because we have proven fact that that is not true. And I think a lot of us get stuck on that man because it's, you know, it's, the world that we lived in. Well, guess what? Go create a different world,
Yeah, reality is what you want it to be. Amen. You know, now I'm not saying hey you can go fly Okay, just making that very clear but you can go do things that you never thought you could ever do So so you're saying we can't
Actually, there's a way but not like just jumping off a building and trying to like flop the fucking hands Maybe maybe we can but no one's been able to believe enough that they could that's actually a really good point You know what you just broke my mind. The what the Peter Pan theory? I mean, it's just the whole idea that maybe Peter Pan like he didn't he couldn't become Peter Pan until he fully believed that he was Then he could fly he could do all the things that makes total sense, right? mean technically that's kind of superheroes how they figure out their powers when they believe that they are Do you think that that's been subliminally put into our
this entire time by accident or do you think that that's actually reality? That's a good question. I don't know if there's been a subliminal messaging of it. I think it's actual reality but I don't think we've paid attention enough. That's what I mean. Yeah yeah yeah. Like it's been in our face this whole time. But I don't think we have definitely realized that that's what it is. Yeah. You know but it's like dude superhero like all
those examples, they're true. That's real, but we don't look at them as real is what I think happens. Yeah. And then the other thing is, with along those lines, like I had this ordinary dude, right? Clark Kent, there's no ordinary dude living a boring life. Well, he finds out that he's Superman and he can do all these incredible things. Okay. Well, maybe it isn't the flying and shooting lasers out of your eyes and superhuman strength, but there is some balance in there of if you just believe enough and just truly own it again, the process of becoming, but that future doesn't exist. I'm just going to start doing it now. Yep. Well, maybe it's
flying. I mean, it could be maybe we're capable that we just don't know it. But what is it for you? That's right. Maybe it is a like, I'm no longer going to give this past stuff credence of like my family, for example, no one in my family was successful. And my immediate family, my parents, right, they all struggled through their entire life until my mom passed away and my dad, he's still struggling. Right. So if I look at that, it's like, okay, that's that. Well, if I believe that with this old belief system, I know my family's been successful. Nobody's owned a multimillion dollar home with 500 acres.
Nobody's owned a Bugatti. Nobody's had all these nice things. Nobody's been able to get themselves to a point where they can just give away money freely because they have it. Well, if I believe that, then guess what? I'm not going to ever do it myself. So what will that? Yeah. What belief system are you operating off of? Maybe I don't need to be a superhero that has huge superhuman strength, but if I believe that I can have those things or become that person, guess what? I'm just going to start doing it right now. I'm going to have the energy vibration of already having it. Right. And the crazy thing is, is you just created it for yourself. That's it. You what mean? I'm going to dive into
that though. The idea, cuz I'm a big believer that Hollywood will put all this shit right in front of our face and like it's all fantasy. I don't believe that it is.
What if we can actually fly? What if we can't? mean, here's the fact about the human body that a lot of people don't know. Your quad muscle is so strong that if you flex it with full capacity, it'll snap your femur in half. That's crazy. That's how strong the quad muscle is. They've done tests on it. But the problem is, is that our brain suppresses it because it knows how strong it is. And it's like, if it flexes full capacity, it'll break your bones. That's crazy. And it's a survival thing. my God. So like your brain, right. And like even from a standpoint of visualization, they did a study where they had
group do actual physical exercise to grow their muscles and their quads and then they did another study where they just had the people visualize doing that exercise. Well both of them gained strength and both of them gained muscle size in that muscle. Isn't that crazy? So how powerful is your mind? Dude it almost really makes you question how much are we capable of? Dude way more. Terrence Howard bro. Terrence Howard is a great you know what I'm saying? Dog. But dude I think that's the beautiful part about life is like everything
I don't know. I look at it this way. It's we know things up to this point. Yeah, but you know what's funny and I use this example I forgot who I told this to but if you look at the physicists right now like the Neil deGrasse Tyson the the Eric Weinstein right these guys If you ask them questions about the world and what they know
What they're gonna tell you is, yeah bro, we don't know shit. And those are guys who are literally at the top of the field, some of the smartest guys in the world, and they tell you they still don't fucking know. I say that because it's like, dude, we listen to people, we're like, yep, they know. that person knows, this person, it's like, bro, you can be whoever you wanna be, and what if you can't fly? Dude, I mean,
remote viewing. Right? Like, dude, there are so many different things that are telling you, bro, our mind is so powerful, dude. It's insane. Yeah. Like, like to your point exactly, like gravity. No one can fucking explain what gravity is. Nothing changes. Yeah. Like, okay, gravity is this thing, but like, how did what is it? How does it work? Like, no one can explain it. Terrence Howard, I think, did the best job talking about like magnetism, electric electric field, the Joe Rogan podcast. Yeah, yeah. But I'm like, but he even admitted on there. He's like, yeah, like this, like we have all these things that we operate on on a daily basis, these
quote unquote laws and they'll tell you how they think they work and the problem is is that people take that as gospel okay cool because there's gravity I can't jump 10 feet in the air bullshit that is a limiting belief how do they say that you can't dude that's so fucking true you know I mean we could get into so much shit with you know this is like the evolution of the earth and how fucking the oxygen levels have decreased that's why they're redwood trees exist really you ever hear that one oh my god dude I think we need a podcast episode where we just dive into just like a conversation so the theory of this and again theory
because no one can prove it. like back, they've even found fossils of stuff that like gigantic animals and like they found a tomato seed from like 2000 years ago and they planted it and the tomato was the size of pumpkin. So the idea is, like back on the like prehistoric earth, quote unquote, the oxygen density was so high that everything literally just flourished. Like gigantic trees were able to exist. Like all these other things are able to exist because of the oxygen saturation. Had you ever heard how there was humans who were like seven, eight feet tall? maybe that can
that too. don't know if there's proof of it. yeah, oh, 100 % there's proof of it. everything, everything was bigger because that oxygen saturation. Like at one point, most of the earth was covered in trees and foliage. So the oxygen saturation was insane. And they actually have like, and again, this is all science that it's like, okay, I'm taking the word for it for sure. But they have carbon dating that like literally shows like the oxygen saturation was way higher. Dude. So what do we actually know? That is actually insane. It's funny too, because the last
night I was watching, now it's not related to this, actually it is, but I was watching, it was called the Ghost of Japan and it was this guy who's going to find this angel shark. And dude, what I didn't realize was there's apparently 500 different species of sharks, different kinds. Dude, a third of them is located in Japan's deep sea water place. And when they went into the exploration and then you see these different fish and the different, the type of environment in there is nothing I've
seen before. You know, but it's, it's cool because dude, let's if you think about like the ocean and how much we know of that and what's in there and how much is there. There's so much we don't know. But it's like, dude, that's almost like the beauty of it. Because it's like anything is possible. But like, I don't know, man, like, that's what gets me excited about this life is like, dude, we're never gonna fucking fully know everything. But it's like, we have the ability to create whatever we want. Like, I know that for a fact.
I think it's a fact, right? To me, it's a fact. When you think about energy, when you think about creation, when you think about dark matter, you think about energy, all that shit is insane. And there's a lot of data behind atoms, energy, frequency, all the things that we talk about, a lot of it ties in. Bro. Drive that point home, guys. That was a long one. We are a tangent, but it ties into the belief systems. It's challenge what you actually believe right across the board. So I know you got to go in about 12 minutes, so let's rock and roll through these last couple. Let's do it. What do we got left? All right, so the next one, guys, is the
that you will be blank once you achieve blank, right? You can fill in the blanks there, but the one that goes to my for me a lot is, I'm going to be happy when I'm 150 pounds. Nope.
You got to get rid of that because again, that's something that's off in the future. You got to do that now. You got to understand that, Hey, I'm not going to be happy when I have this much of my bank account. How many people win the lottery and they're still not happy, right? It is the process that you are in of becoming that allows you to have it right now. So identify the, like that is a future off thing. I don't have to think that way. Like I am happy right now being in the body that I'm in with the weight I'm in. I'm in the process of becoming that physical best version of myself. Bro. I love that. I want to throw something into this, related to
A lot of people because you know when you think about like hey, let's say you're 100 pounds overweight or whatever and you're like, oh man I'm fat. I'm fat. I'm struggling with this. Here's here's the truth You're not fat you have fat on you because of the decision that you made but you are absolutely not a fat person There's no you know what I mean and I say that yes because it is identity. Yes, you can have fat on you That is normal, but you can get rid of that but you are
because when you label yourself that you're going to make decisions based on that identity. Yep, that's a great point. the silliness of this is somebody should tell my clients when I was a trainer and coach is okay. You're saying that you're fat. Does that also mean that your shirt?
Are you a hoodie? Because you have a hoodie on you, but are you identifying as a hoodie now? You know what saying? Because it's a simple thing. We can remove a hoodie, same thing we can do. We can remove body fat. So all we gotta do is identify that you can remove this. It's just up to you to decide who you're gonna be. And that's the whole idea of this clip here, number four, is understand that there is no future of trying to be whatever it is. Just be it now. There is no situation. There is no experience. There is no thing that is going to happen that is going to magically trigger happiness.
or discipline, right? once I have that, I'll be good to go. No, bullshit. Do it right now and again. If you continue to look at it that way, you are separate from it and you're never going to have it. That's why people get to their goal weight or they have money in the bank and it didn't come to fruition and they're like, man. And another one, a simple one is money is buying things, right? People that spend money to buy things. man, I'll be happy once I have that. Then you get it you're not happy. So very simple. that one. Love that. Okay. All right. The next one, the least effort, but biggest reward strategy.
This is where I think a lot of us, especially society has taught us this. When you think about social media, we look at the likes of people like the guys that are millionaires at 22, 23, 24.
At the end of the day, here's also the truth that we don't look at it, right? Like I take Mr. Beast as an example. People look at him, they're like, oh, 23, he's got millions and millions and billions of dollars. Well, okay, if you realize that he started doing this at 11 and he has been doing this every single day for 11 years up until that point, like there's a lot of work that went up to there, right? And I say this because we think that, hey, we put in the least amount of effort to get the most amount of reward.
but it's because we're constantly focusing on the outcome instead of just like, what do I need to do the best now to get to this later? You know? And so we are, a lot of us struggle with this. This is what keeps people average. This is what keeps our life average. You have to remove the fact that, I'm going to do the minimum amount of work to get this because I promise you, it's not going to get you there. You have to do the best that you can to achieve this. And it's going to take time. Yup. 100%. Couldn't have said a better myself really with this guys. You have to understand that if you are just tipping your toes in the water to try to do this,
I go back to visualization. Hey, I'm going to just try this and figure out, is it worth doing? Nope. Go all in. I think about old school water pumps. When I was a kid, we had one of those old school water pumps at my park where it's like, you know, you've all kind of seen it hopefully, but it's just a water pump with a handle. And the way it works is you can pump it once or twice and a little bit of water will come out. But as soon as you stop pumping it, the water stops coming. And then like as kids, we were idiots. So we would just pump it, stick our head under there, pump it again, stick our head under there. Well, little did we know until my dad showed us.
If you pump it 10, 15, 20 times as hard as you can, it's going to create that it helps that seal be broken and water will discontinue to flow. Right. So it's called priming the pump. Right. So in your own life, understand that like there is no like, I'm going to do just a little bit. I'm going to try to do the least amount that I can do to get this to
because it's not going to work and you're not going to create that long -term strategy. You got to just go all in. Dude, that's a good example, man. It brought me back to the old Bosnia days. Yeah, for real. my God. Yeah, dude, even when I visit Bosnia, I haven't visited in long time, but we stay my uncle's house, which is the house that my grandma built. And he still has got the water pump. We still use that. Dude, it's funny. It's funny, but it's such a good point.
You want to hit on the last two or you want to wrap it up there? We got a few minutes left. I feel like we've kind of touched on these. But the other two just so you guys kind of know what we put down here is negative people in your life. Right? So what I mean by this is people that are always having something negative to say something that is always putting a ceiling on things someone who is always bashing ideas. And when I say this is I'm not saying have a yes man in your life, but have someone who helps you figure things out or helps you see a different viewer or talks through things in
in logical way compared to more just emotional without any facts or people that are just talking about shit that doesn't matter in your life because at the end of the day, like we talked about last episode is like, you're influenced by everything around you, right? From the music to the conversations to what you do, to what you listen, all those things. So be careful about the people that you're spending your time with. Yeah. I'll put into that one is like a good litmus test here is are they an anchor or are they a sail? Beautiful. Right? Like if there's somebody that is like trying to constantly drag you down or hold you down, cool. You don't have to completely detach them from your life, but
being around them and maybe you do like there's two types of people you can either continue to move forward and just not let what they say affect you in the Outward of course gonna affect your subconscious or You're somebody that like I have to completely cut him out of my life immediately in order to move forward. That's up to you to decide Yeah, so and then number two Conversations that revolve around negativity gossip, etc So kind of ties in a little bit to the first one and also really the very very first thing we talked about where what time are you using and how does that time serve you?
Because a lot of the times man, that's that's what keeps it as humans We are prone to talking about people we want to talk about negativity. We want to talk about things It's just it's like a great example This is like news stories when they post a negative headline compared to a positive one This one's gonna get way more clicks and that's how humans operate So it's be careful about the conversations and what you're talking about because I promise you it'll come back to you and it will affect you before you even know
Yeah, another really simple one there, just to toss on that, is if you're one of those people that engages in those conversations or even stands around listening to other people do it, they have less respect for you.
Right. And the way I always put it is somebody, if somebody's willing to talk to somebody else about you or to talk about somebody else to you, what do you, who do you, what do you think they're saying to other people about you? Cause they're not the type of person that's just like, I'm to talk about this person at the office to you. They're also talking shit about you. And it's like, dude, there is this no time in life for that. So this one in my mind comes back to what standard are you operating on and what standard are you bleeding into the people around you? Right. Of course here at first from this doesn't happen, but in regular life, if somebody starts talking negative about somebody, I'm like, dude, I don't, I don't.
participate in those conversations. So you're talking to the wrong person. We don't have time for that. Yeah. And what happens is they're like, damn, like, okay, they immediately get a little bit butthurt because they shut them down and hurts their ego. But over time, they start to gain respect for you. And they're like, all right, well, how is he made they start making a correlation that he doesn't entertain that he doesn't do that himself. He's also successful. Maybe I need to let go of that in my own life. So it's you leading by example as well. Love that time right there. That was so beautiful. Perfect, bro. Guys, this this episode was far from succinct in this like a stepwise process.
I had a freaking blast. Same. I think we put out a ton of value and we got through what we wanted to get through. So it's just a little bit all over the place. I feel like we need to have this more of a structure like this man. Yeah, that was so good. That was good. And honestly guys, we hope you enjoyed it. And if you did, please let us know, right? Give us if there's anything we could have done better. If there's things that you guys love, let us know. We like knowing these things. Feedback helps us, you know, get better with these.
you and we like having these conversations, especially today. Guys, as always, if you gain value from the show, please share it. Again, we don't advertise this bad boy. We're going to start doing a little bit better at putting out there in our social. We just talked about that earlier this week, but share the show. Give us a review as well. It's one thing that we haven't asked for. I know that the algorithm works off of reviews. We'd love to just get this out there naturally to more people, but we appreciate you. Any feedback is always welcome. And we love you guys, man. This is why we do it is to help you guys make help make you a little bit better in your day to day life. And hopefully this episode about things that you got
let go will help you move forward but also share this with people that you know need to let some of this stuff go as well and if you guys need anything don't hesitate to reach out love it all right we love you guys peace
