A rattling army launches planetside in double-stacked Arvis lighters blasting Skeleton Warriors at full volume. On the surface, de Fuckerby has already activated the prison -- a C'tan shard tears free, Scarbrand erupts from the warp behind it, and Lorne burns himself out of reality to stop the summoning. Three chuckle fucks and one ogryn are all that's left between two warring gods and a galaxy-ending mistake.

What adventure do you have for us today, Thurston?
Okay, so when we last left,
our intrepid band of Chuck Fox,
they were on board the Bridge of the Debt Collector,
orbiting the furthest planet of the Fimbria system,
which seems to now be alight with glowing green energies
and strange Xenos architecture rising out from the ground.
And they were met by another ship that entered into the system.
This one, hell, but at least captained by a lord,
an inquisitor by the name of Melchior.
Melchior had, some point ago,
had the player characters mind-wiped
and used them to track down the absolute arch-villain of all of their problems.
Oh, okay.
The absolute villain of all of their problems,
villain of the campaign, one Schleherbergo de Fakrami.
Sorry, sorry.
It took me a while to bring up that art piece
because I don't have him labeled.
I have him labeled just as that asshole in my files.
So, Schleherbergo de Fakrami is headed down to the surface of this planet,
but along with de Fakrami,
well, he has brought something of great value,
great importance to the campaign, to the players, to everyone,
is brought with him, Tater Tot, down to the surface of this planet.
But when Lord Melchior appeared, he cared not for the Tot.
He cared not.
He cared not for the planet or the information of what de Fakrami was up to.
He cared only for destruction
and unleashed a salvo of cyclonic torpedoes onto the planet.
Now, our players did their best,
with Lorne unleashing a torrent of psychic energy
at the highest levels to take one of those torpedoes
and turn it back towards Melchior's ship,
forcing Melchior's vessel to destroy the torpedo before it impacted on him.
Meanwhile, two of the remaining three,
three of the remaining three,
were destroyed,
but a fourth seemed to go beyond the range of the debt collector,
hurtling down towards the planet,
whereupon Tater Tot de Fakrami
and perhaps the fate of the entire Imperium could be decided.
And that is where we begin,
with our chuckle fucks on board the bridge of the debt collector,
seeing this ping, this torpedo ping,
flying out well beyond the Auspex range of their weapons,
unable to be tracked,
unable to be struck at,
beyond even the range of Lorne the Psyker.
All four of you stand on the bridge along with the crew,
looking as this torpedo is making its way towards the surface.
What are you all doing?
Let's jump right into it.
Uh, someone want to go first?
Because I got an idea what I'm doing.
Uh, can I try and have them hail Melchior again?
Oh, absolutely.
So you're just gonna ask the comms officer?
Hail them again.
I would have some words with Melchior.
Uh, the, like, the comms officer looks at you, Captain Zedek,
with, like, wide eyes, and is like,

And, like, nods, and, okay...
And there's the, sort of, Vox transmission,
as the enraged Old Lord Inquisitor appears once again in a hololithic broadcast,
the light streaming onto the bridge.

It's a matter of dares, isn't it, Melchior?
I don't give a damn if you're a High Inquisitor or the Emperor himself!
You have sat here and endangered all of us with this action!
It is dated and must be destroyed!
And, and, like, as, as he is, he is trying to verbally retort to you, Reeb,
there, there...
One of the, the Auspex officers are like,
S-s-sir, s-something coming in on Auspex!
It's a, a, a...
And, and through the, the viewscreen that you see,
the small little dot of the distant cyclonic torpedo pops,
just before entering the probably non-existent atmosphere of this planet,
but before impacting on the surface,
it pops under a stream of additional weapons fire for some, from something beyond.
And the Auspex officer, like,
turning and, like, you can see at this point as well, Melchior is turning,
as though being alerted to something on his side,
and the, the, the Auspex officer shouts across,
Uh, c-captain!
Uh, th-there's, there's another signal coming in!
It's a, it's another ship!
A-another ship?
It's...
Oh.
Oh.
And there's, like, this, this sudden,
Oh, no, from the Auspex officer.
Oh, no, don't, don't tell me!
No, please don't tell me!
Please don't tell me she's here!
It's...
It's...
It's the Marengo, captain!
Son of a bitch!
And, like, you can tell that, like, Melchior has kind of turned,
he's kept the, the, the hololithic link on with your ship,
but it's very clear there's, like, he's, he's contacting someone else now,
and you're like,
What is the meaning?
And, and suddenly the, the hololith appears,
uh, because these vessels are, are made to allow for multi-ship communication,
another hololithic figure appears in the scene.
As the form of interrogator Landon,
um, the superior of Reeb appears,
and the, the masked agent of the Inquisition speaks.
I'm here on authority of Inquisitor Harlan.
You are to stop this immediately, Melchior.
This is unsanctioned activity.
Unsanctioned?

This place must be destroyed.

And he's, like, you can tell that, that, like, Melchior's looking around back in his stratagem furiously,
clearly talking to other people.
Uh, as this is going on, all of you are hearing from the Auspex unit,
uh, the Auspex staff shouting again.
C-captain, there's other signals.
They all seem to be converging here.
Ships of varying classes.
I, I can't scan them all, but there seems to be a lot of them coming.
Reeb is still absolutely just shouting at Melchior.
You guys have your moments.
Oh, keep going, feel free, continue your tirade, Reeb.
You have put us all at great risk because you,
in the ignorance of the average Inquisition member,
have decided to hurl a depth charge at what could possibly be a stack of dynamite.
Do you understand what, how did you rise to this position?

And then you are a lifesaver, but we don't have a lot of time.
We, if we have to, if we're going down now, we have to get to the landing bay.
Who are these ships converging on this position?

And like, he starts to stand up.

Position the vessel between us and that inquisitorial ship.
And he like, sits down and you can feel he's kind of getting some of his energy back.
Captain Zedek and your, and your, his trusted colleagues,
you can trust us to, to keep him off your back.

We aren't coming back if we don't.

And like, he sits in the, the subcommand throne.
Every moment spent on this bridge is now a moment wasted.
Everyone to the shuttles.

And, and like, moving through the vessel at this point is actually far easier than you remember.
The sort of horizontal escalators are all operational.
Everything seems to be in perfect working order.
So you actually get to the hangar bay quite quickly as this is going.

There are scores of people, uh, loading into all of the Arvis lighters that remain on board of the vessel.
All of which also appear to have been finally refurnished.

As, as, as you're sort of looking around, you can see scores of disciplined Ratlings soldiers are entering.
Uh, like a scene from a war movie with, like, Ratlings with command hats waving their hands like,
Come on, come on, come on!
And, like, Ratlings moving in.
Um, in fact, it looks like the, the standard seating inside some of these has been adapted to have two rows.
So it's like Ratlings sitting.
And then above them, there's Ratlings strapped in.
Uh, so for every one, uh, like, human-sized person that would be in here, there's two Ratlings inside the Arvises,
all clutching onto their weapons.
Uh, and then you can see, like, Belba coordinating everything here.
Getting all of the Ratlings into the various, uh, into the various Arvises that are making ready to depart.
And throughout all of this, you also catch one, one other figure.
Uh, standing in the far corner of the room is the, uh, is the, the vessel's astropath, Winnick Rivette.
Who just stands in the corner watching everything.
Ugh, Rivette.

I like how everyone's just kind of, like, just looking to each other.
Just like, I don't think any of us have any words for them.

Because Lorne, though you are my friend, and Pye is very quickly just going to reach over, put two hands at the side of Lorne's head, and apply a very faint pressure.

And, but it's all with Fenrisian runes on it.
And he will basically kind of take it, put it into Pye's hand.

And like you're hearing the crackling of the voxels.

And then it like cuts out entirely as you're cut off from any kind of vox communication with the debt collector.
As you brace yourselves coming down onto the surface of this dead planet
and coming towards sort of the green energy that's pulsing out.
And the servitor communicates,
Making way towards descent point of previous.
Of previous captain.
And like you can see that you're heading down onto the surface,
which there have now been like cracks in it.
And these strange like monoliths and pylons have broken out.
Made of this black stone, which you've seen in the past,
but arcing now with green energies.
Some like electrical blasts skimming you.
You see the servitor dodging out of the way.
Thanks to the efficacy of the snurbos.
Avoiding one of these blasts.
But another one hits one of the rattling arvises.
Causing it to careen and crash into one of the canyons.
You see this happening.
But the servitor is taking control.
However, it looks as though there's more of these sort of defense systems beginning to shoot.
Captain Zedek, are you content with letting a servitor pilot right now?

Let me into that pilot seat.
I'll punch this dude's block off and get in the pilot seat.

I will damage this servitor when we have clearly established over 30 sessions there is a co-pilot seat.

collected with every single piece of dirt.

not even a landing pad,
but a, like, a section of polished ground
where there is another harvest lighter,
um, that is clearly, like, emptied.
Uh, you, you make the snap turn,
and you, you have that, like, moment of realizing
that this planet doesn't have an atmosphere.
But as you're reading the readouts,
all of your, your sensors and, like, aspects,
arrays are indicating that
this planet now has an atmosphere
and is breathable.
Wow, that is incredibly convenient.
And, and you kind of have a flashback
to the last time this occurred.
Oh, shit.
Which was on a distant planet called Shaded Rock.
Boys, we, we might be in for some chop,
just so you know.

I've seen the, I've seen the ship shaking,
or all, like,

as Zedek has now brought it down and landed it.

And you can see that, like, scores of other Arvises
are now, like, landing.
Some of them are still being blown out of the sky,
but at least, like, six have landed nearby,
and these, like, scores of ratlings
are now rushing out with guns
and taking shots at these, these strange, uh,
monoliths and pylons that loom in the distance.
Some of them are smaller, like, more like,
people-sized or, you know, double people-sized,
like, blasting arcs of green energy out
as you've landed.

You know, at least cover the landing.

very clear they, they pointed their back towards this and possibly went down there.
The final thing you're able to see with that is you can see that there appear to be some
additional, um, vessels moving in from higher in orbit, but you can't quite see them.
Uh, but you can see, like, light.
And more of the arcing, uh, Xenos weapon fire firing up at them.
Hmm.
We need a way to terminate those weapons if we're going to get any more support down here.
But I don't think they're being manned by anyone in particular.
