Speaker 2:

The saying goes, winners never quit. You may ask the question, how true is that? In the famous words of Vince Lombardi, winners never quit, and quitters never win. But does this quote apply in all situations? Are there times when quitting may be the only way out?

Speaker 2:

But, if it is true that winners never quit, what does it take to become a winner who doesn't give up? Who is a winner? Are you a winner? A winner consistently pursues a goal then doesn't relent until they achieve the goal. Winning goes beyond being the best and involves retaining that identity consistently, regardless of challenges.

Speaker 2:

It's a mindset and you maintain that mindset consistently, again, regardless of the challenges, your limitations, or your difficulties. A winner is someone who refuses to quit, even when others find quitting to be the smartest route to take, the easy way out. But a winner never takes the easy way out. So what makes a winner different? Well, according to Billie Jean King, champions keep playing until they get it right.

Speaker 2:

Champions keep playing until they get it right. They do it over and over and over repeatedly until they get it right. In other words, winners never quit. Winners need to win. Period.

Speaker 2:

Exclamation point. Quitting is not even in their thought process. It's this mentality that drives them. It's guts, blood, sweat, tears, and perseverance that takes them to their finish line in anything they do despite the failures along the way, despite the setbacks and obstacles they may endure as they achieve success. Denis Waitby said losers fix the blame, winners fix what caused the problem.

Speaker 2:

Losers fix the blame, winners fix what caused the problem. What are you fixing? Winning requires consistency. It was Thomas Edison who said, I've not failed 10,000 times. I have instead discovered 10,000 ways that don't work.

Speaker 2:

This statement sums up the mindset and attitude of winners. They go through disappointments without losing enthusiasm. Winning requires setting your priorities right and doing all that is possible to accomplish those priorities. Everything that is possible. Also, genuine winners won't cut corners.

Speaker 2:

Genuine winners understand that for one to enjoy a lasting success, they must possess rock solid integrity. When there's no failure, it's part of the ride. Failure and success are 2 parts of the same coin and you may not value success until you've experienced failure. And going to every new venture without the fear of failure increases the odds of success. To be a winner, so I'm sure you know by now, the story of winners are filled with trials, tribulations, and trials.

Speaker 2:

Do winners ever quit? Well, if they quit, would they still be called winners? Being a winner requires resilience, perseverance, and a strong desire to constantly outdo yourself. Nobody's born a winner. Everyone has an equal opportunity to become 1 though as long as they're willing to overcome the challenges and keep on striving, keep on pursuing, keep on knowing that every repetition is one step closer to crossing the finish line.

Speaker 2:

Are you a winner? Until next time, remember, your present does not limit your future. Be great.
