We’ve heard the analogy before. It doesn’t shock us with profundity anymore.
In fact, we sort of question whether there aren’t more effective words to be followed in one of the many well written books on self-help or self-care or business management or productivity.
Pick your specialty. Pick your self-diagnosed latest remedy.
Addiction fits in nicely to what some may classify as merely another self-inflicted ailment that needs a self-inflicted solution.
Try digging yourself out. Maybe you can.
But once out of that muck, you’re left with the same as us—the threat of self-sufficiency in a brutal, fleeting world.
We all meet the end of ourselves. Hopefully before death, but at least by the end.
What will we build on until then?
When I finally stopped rejecting God’s way, relief and healing began.
