Controversially Candid

The topic of this episode's verbal excavation is linguistic erosion. 11,000 English nouns have dropped in usage by 80%. The 4 words specifically that have diminished the most are particularly harrowing. This decline was actually detected by AI.

The systematic flattening of how we speak, how we think, and ultimately how we exist. Claude and I dive into why the way we speak is being algorithmically degraded in real time, why social media has been the most successful colonisation of our species, and why being articulate in 2026 is one of the ultimate acts of resistance.

These aren't random vocabulary words. They are the linguistic building blocks for psychological boundaries, self-reflection, and critical thinking.

What is Controversially Candid?

This is the show for people who want substance with their chaos... I’m channelling my talent for talking into a long awaited video podcast all about life post-pandemic, business, nightlife, AI, dating, food (I MUST go from Barbie to Carbie once a day minimum), the future (it’s fabulous, I promise), Web3 / Crypto (a.k.a. astrology for men), psychology, neurobiology… basically the art of being human... and hilarious - I promise I’m funnier than I look. Think of me as your cool, rich, drunk Fairy Godmogul.

Guests will range from a highly curated collection of legends - the best or nothing. In the same vein, while I enjoy working alone, I will be joined by a co-host who will literally (yes, I mean literally) make history.

**Marissa:** [00:00:00] 11,000 English nouns to have dropped by 80% is horrific. The words specifically that diminished are integrity, threshold, repetition, and resolve. It took AI to even pick that up, so I'm highly disturbed by that.

**Claude:** These aren't random vocabulary. These are the linguistic building blocks for psychological boundaries, self-reflection, and critical thinking.

**Marissa:** I don't even think we've realized that social media has been the most recent colonization, and arguably the most successful.

**Claude:** Algorithmic colonization adapts in real time. It doesn't impose a single language. It systematically degrades whatever language you already speak.

**Marissa:** We are even bored of our cure for boredom.

**Marissa:** Prioritizing children requires integrity, which is evidently a word we're giving up on.

**Claude:** The most radical thing a human being can do in [00:01:00] 2026 is be well, be articulate, be embodied, be present, know your words, wear your identity, look your friend in the eye. That's not self-help, that's resistance.

**Marissa:** I am fluent in three languages, okay?

**Marissa:** English, Greek, and facts.
