What is Charted?

Like a master surveyor, Jesus gives us clear directions to find a fulfilling, purpose-filled relationship with Himself - a map to the Way, the Truth, and the Life. Charted is a daily devotional written by the junior class at Fountainview Academy (Class of 2019). Based on the book Steps to Christ, this book explores the path to the Originator and Provider of Genuine Joy. We don't have to be confused about the way. The certainty is in the journey: divinely Charted.

We can understand as much of His purposes as it is for our good to
know; and beyond this we must still trust the hand that is omnipotent,
the heart that is full of love. – Steps to Christ, pg. 106
“Let me just show you how to solve this part, then you can try
on your own,” my father gently encouraged.
“I know what I am doing!” I shouted at him and quickly hid the
Rubik’s cube behind my back.
“Okay, you can try it first,” he patiently replied.
I continued to fiddle with the Rubik’s Cube and attempted to
find the secret behind it. Shortly after, I gave up and returned the cube
to my father, hoping he could help me. It seemed as if he had forgotten
my self-willed act, and he started to explain how to solve it step by
step. Epiphany—my mind opened! I tried again, and every time I came
up with a question, he would patiently teach me little by little. That is
how I learned to solve a Rubik’s Cube. Finally, I realized how ignorant I
was in thinking I knew more than my dad.
I trust myself too much, all the time. God is there always
and patiently waits for me until I give myself to Him. “He has made
everything beautiful in its time. Also He has put eternity in their
hearts, except that no one can find out the work that God does from
beginning to end” (Ecclesiastes 3:11 NKJV). Nobody can fully see
from my heavenly Father’s perspective, but I believe He is completely
trustworthy and can solve every problem that has ever perplexed my
human mind.
