Welcome, dear listeners.
Today let's delve into a wonderful piece of Torah wisdom from the book of Proverbs (Mishlei), Chapter 16, Verse 9, "In his heart, a man plans his course, but the Lord determines his steps."
In our everyday lives, we often make plans, set goals, and determine the course we want to take. It's the nature of human beings to strive, to plan, to reach out for what we want. Yet, this verse is a gentle reminder that ultimately, it is the Almighty who guides our steps.
We see this in our daily life. We make plans, but often things do not go as we planned. Sometimes, they turn out even better, sometimes they take us in unexpected directions. This is the Divine orchestration of our lives.
But does this mean we shouldn't plan? Absolutely not. The verse doesn't say, "Don't plan." It says, "Plan, but know that the outcome is in G-d's hands." This is an invitation to partnership with the Divine. We do our part—planning, striving, doing—and then we let go, and let G-d direct the outcome.
So, dear friends, as you go about your day, your week, your life, plan your course, but remember to leave room for the Divine to guide your steps. Embrace the unexpected, the detours, the surprise turns as part of the Divine plan for your life.
