Good morning. This is Your Insurance Connection. I'm your host, Donald Marquez. On Your Insurance Connection, we talk about saving money on auto insurance, homeowners insurance, yes, and we talk about life insurance. Welcome to the show. Thank Good morning, Las Vegas, and all surrounding communities. My name is Don Marquez. This is your Insurance Connection, broadcasting right here at KU and V 91.5 jazz and more every Sunday morning from 8am to 830 A lot of valuable information on homeowners insurance, life insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, and I offer life insurance in my insurance agency. I'm a licensed insurance broker, you know, and the difference between a broker and an agent is this: it's kind of one in the same, but an agent can only, a captive agent, let's say, for an example, when I was Allstate agent, I can only sell Allstate products and services to my customers. Now, if a customer needed outside products other than what Allstate offered, I could not offer that person that product. Let's say, for instance, for an instance, if I can't get them a good car insurance rate, then that's the only option I had was all state car insurance as a broker today. I'm a broker, haven't seen a broker since 2015 Now I have options, I have options to search for policies, companies that I have for me to search for you, you know. I have multiple companies for auto insurance, multiple companies for life insurance, and I'll do the shopping for you. You know, when it comes to shopping for insurance, I'm a one-stop shop, a one-stop shop. Now, you know, there are times when you have lower car insurance rates and I can't match them, and I'll just push, push across the table and say you know what, you know you can stay with your company, but I've had people contact me, and you know sometimes they have these cut rate auto insurance carriers, and they complain about the service, you know sometimes you have to compromise if you, if you want that cut rate, no, you know, you know insurance policy on your auto insurance with very little coverages, I may not be your agent, I'm not. I'm an agent. I want to go review your declaration page, and the reason why I want to see your auto declaration page is to see your coverages. You know, 99.9% of you customers out there, that listeners out there that call me, you know, they tell me over and over again, in 30 years, I hear this all over and over again. I have full coverage as an insurance professional. I don't know what you know, I know what that means, but I don't know what your coverages are. I ask, what are your coverages? I don't know, I just have full coverage, you know. And this is why I want to see your declaration page. It tells me exactly what coverages you have. I know we're trying to lower your rate, I get that part. And some people try to black out their rate. It's not a game, it's not a gimmick or anything. It's just, you know, I want to see what coverages you're currently carrying, so I can make a fair comparison. That makes sense. I can make it fair. So, if you're carrying 100,000 per person, 300,000 each accident, $100,000 property damage. That's what I'm gonna quote on my quote. You know, I don't want to quote you now. So, when we write a quote, when we go through a quote, now there are systems. When I put your information in the computer, name, phone number, address, it usually triggers the cars that you have on my computer, it may trigger your bodily injury, property damage. That's the first line of coverage on your auto insurance policy, but that's all we see. We don't, I don't see your deductibles, I don't see any of that. You know, we see also the length of time you've been with your insurance company, so it's very limited information that we have access to, and it's good because it protects your privacy. You want this access protected because you don't want anyone to be able to access all your information. I've had people contact me for auto insurance quote that listen to this program right here at KU and V 91.5 Say, well, can't you see all my coverages? It's not that simple.

Donald Marquez 4:39
No, and you shouldn't want me to see all of your coverages, I want to talk to you about them, I want to ask you about them. Do you understand what you're protected, what this protection means? And most people don't, the uninsured motors always get, you know, it's wrong. Yeah, that's protect me if something happens in my car. No, it does not. It protects you for bodily injury, you in the past. Passengers in the vehicle, if, if an accident happens, they don't have insurance, or not enough insurance to cover you and the passengers' bodily injury. That's one of the most, one of the most misunderstood coverages. Also, rental car reimbursement, when not when you're traveling, you need a rental car. No, it is when you know your car is in the repair shop for covered loss, bodily injury, bodily injury, property damage is your protection for your liability when you hit someone. Now, our minimum state requirements are 25,000 per person, 50,000 each accident, $25,000 property damage. Now, the state minimum is 20, but always include 25 if that's what, if this is the coverages you can afford. Everyone needs life insurance, you know. And if I can reduce that rate down, you know, and sometimes people want a minimum. Hey, you know what? I just want a cremation, just enough to get me cremated. I want to pay on a little bit at a time. It's good to pay on a little at a time when it comes to life insurance, because eventually that bill will come and we'll give it that we'll get to life insurance later on in the show, but this is what I try to do, try to free, you know, free some money, so you can get other coverages. My name is Don Marquez. Welcome to the show. This is Your Insurance Connection LLC. I'm a licensed insurance agent right here in Las Vegas, Nevada. I'm licensed in 48 states for home and auto insurance, and for life insurance, I'm licensed in California, Nevada, Louisiana, Texas, and Michigan for life insurance. Now, if you're listening to this program, and you're in Minnesota or Oregon, you know, wherever you may be, I can get appointed in that state and offer you the policy. There's many times when people on life insurance want a life insurance policy on a loved one that maybe have a drug and alcohol problem. I can help you with that to get them a life insurance policy. You're the owner, you're the payer, and also you're the beneficiary. 702-236-2624 70223 702-236-2624 I understand auto insurance is very expensive in the state of Nevada, and you know it's just one of those things. Every city has something. This is our something. If you just move into Vegas, thank you for coming to our beautiful city. Welcome to our beautiful city. Car insurance is gonna. you may be a little shocked on our car insurance rates. I remember y'all have to laugh, because this happened years ago when I was an Allstate agent, and I was probably back in the late, late 90s. So, this young man, he just moved from back East, I think he was moved from back, and he was in New York. He moved to Vegas. He had a car. He had a car, you know, in the suburbs of New York. So he came to Vegas when he said, you know, he came in my office, said, "I have Allstate and New York, I need to transfer my policy here to Nevada, Las Vegas. And I said, "Okay, no problem. I gave him a quote, and he said, "Well, no way, no, there is no way I'm gonna pay that amount of money. Are you kidding me? I said, no, this is this is actually a decent rate. He said, no way, you know. And I said, you know what, there is another insurance agency down the street, go to them, go to State Farm, go down the street to State Farm, they're open, go talk to them, and you know, and if that doesn't work out, I'm right here. You see, you know, no way I'm gonna pay that. So he went to State Farm. They gave him a quote. He came back in my office about 30 minutes later. He said, "I just want to apologize to you. I want to apologize to you. I'm so sorry.

Donald Marquez 8:37
I had no idea what these rates were in Vegas. I said, no, that's okay, that's okay, it's all good, but you know that's what happened, that happens, that happens, you know, when you move to Vegas, and depending on your zip code you live in now, there are times when people listen to this program already at K U and V 91.5 and they're like, okay, how much is my insurance rate going to be without giving me all your car information. I need all the information. You want a quote, or do you just want to guess? I don't guess. I can't guess, because I'm gonna be wrong 100% of the time. You know, I see people out and about, and I get a phone call. You know, and I'm talking to people that's maybe out of my business network, or maybe I'm on my way to my office, and people will call me and say, hey, you know, before they give me their name, I just want to know what my current rates is going to be if I go through you. I need all the information. I want to see your declaration page. I want to see what you currently carry, and let's compare, you know, coverages, and I'll give you suggestions, which you should and shouldn't do now. If you have three cars, two drivers, right? Then you know, and let's say that that third car, we can make that, and both drivers are working. We can make that third car a pleasure vehicle, or if you're retired, and okay, here's a big one, and when this with this one. A lot of people miss when you retire, you need to contact your car insurance company and let them know you retired, because now you're not being rated as what we call a commute driver. When you commute back and forth to go to work every day, you know the insurance companies are rating you going back and forth to work every day, that's called commute driving, but when you're retired, you drive less, because you stay home more, and you watch TV more, and you read more. Whatever you do, it's in the house, because, as you know, every time we walk out of a house, we're spending money. I stay home more than I ever have, but when you retire, we can switch your commute to pleasure. pleasure now. Pleasure means that you're retired, that's what that means. And that is a savings on your auto insurance policies. This is one of the ways we can save you some money on your auto insurance policy. Is if you're retired, let's say you're still working, you know you're still working, but let's say your spouse is retired and the vehicle that they drive, because now you have two or three cars, we can put those. Now you have two cars. If you have three cars, right, one person is retired, the other person is still working. Those two cars, we can make those pleasure vehicles. My name is Don Marquez. My contact phone number: 702-236-2624 23626247022362624 My location: Sahara Rancho in the US Bank Building, 2300 West Sahara Avenue, one block west of AI 15. I'm in a tall, beautiful brown building on the eighth floor, US Bank Center, eighth floor. I work by appointment. My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm I work by appointment 702-236-2624 again 702-236-2624 And if you can't call me, because maybe you're at work you can always text me at that number, I return all calls, I return all calls, and if I can't get you because it goes into voicemail, I'm a text you, hey, you know, I saw you called, you know, I was busy at the time, and I'm returning your call by way of text, you went to your voicemail, and I don't even message, I'll leave a message on your voicemail if I can, because sometimes voice messages are full. So many of you have called back and your voice messages are full. There's no obligation to come see me. In other words, you don't pay for a consultation. We'll set up a time, either over the phone or in person, 702-236-2620 02236 2624 I'm a licensed insurance agent, auto insurance, homeowners insurance, boat, motorcycle insurance, and yes, life insurance. We all need life insurance. I talk about it every show, right here at KU and V.

Donald Marquez 12:55
Life insurance is important. I've been to 1234, funerals this year already, yeah. I've been to four funerals, people that I know, and you know, and it's funny because years ago I went over my mother's house one day and she had a stack of obituaries, I mean a stack of them, and I said, Mom, why you keep all of these obituaries? She said, well, all my friends are dying, I'm like, wow, and she said one of these days I'll be in that obituary stack. I was like, my uncle, you know, I, you know, we, that's reality, and you don't want to, we don't like to talk about it. I didn't want my mother told me that I didn't want to talk about it, because I don't, you know, the reality is, we are going to go someday, we all have a time, we're going to leave this earth, and you know, and it's just, it is what it is, you know, and we just can't get around the conversation. If you have family members, you know, your parents, your husband, the wife. I was watching a commercial on television the other day, and I'm quite sure you've seen this commercial. So the man was asking the wife, have you seen the life insurance offer that I, you know, the brochure that I went picked up, and she, and she threw it in the trash can, and he said to her, he said, "Hey, you know, we need life insurance. She replied to him, "Well, have you seen the price of groceries? Are you kidding me? She said, "Yeah, we don't need another bill. He said, "But you know what, we need to protect ourselves, because that day is going to come, and it's going to come for all of us. So, it's about thinking ahead, and I'm glad they used the mail in that, in that commercial, because men, unfortunately, I get, I received 10 calls, right, for life insurance, seven out of 10 calls are women. We need to step up to the plate, guys, just a little bit better. We can do a lot better now. You are in your household looking at your family. What happens if you're not? You're no longer there. How are they going to survive financially? And if you do have a life insurance policy and you haven't reviewed it in a while, life insurance policies need to be reviewed. Don't. Think you're okay, they need to be reviewed. Things change, you know. If you lost your primary beneficiary by way of divorce, or you know, if you had lost them a way of passing, you need to update your beneficiary information. Only thing you need to do is contact your life insurance company and say, I need to change a beneficiary, or let's say you're, you don't want your significant other on there, or the person you had on there. You can always change the beneficiary information. You just can't, as an owner of the policy, the insured individual, you contact your life insurance company. They can either email you or change the beneficiary form, or they can mail it to you, keep that in mind. Now, let's say if you have one of your loved ones that's going into a nursing home, you may want to change the ownership of that policy, right? Because a nursing home could look at that as an asset and take the life insurance policy from that individual that goes into the nursing home. You know, it's a lot of moving parts with this. Now, if you have a will or a trust as an insurance professional, I can't include your will and trust in the beneficiary information. I will put a person in the beneficiary information, and once you take it to your lawyer, your lawyer can make all the necessary arrangements to include the life insurance policy in the trust, you know, and it's a lot of moving parts with that. That's why I don't do it, you know, because people say, well, I want to use my primary beneficiary as my trust, you know. There's certain, certain length, I have a trust, and I know there's certain language that has to be written in the beneficiary information, and how the money, how the money will be distributed over time, and this is why I don't include that information in the life insurance policy again.

Donald Marquez 16:50
Once I'll put a person in there, maybe a loved one, maybe a trustee, that whoever your trustee is, and I'll put that person in, a real person, and then you take it to your attorney. Your attorney makes all the necessary arrangements to include your life insurance policy in your trust, because sometimes you know when people get these life insurance, especially the large policy policies, the larger policies, you know. Okay, I have a $500,000 life insurance policy. I don't want to give that money to my children all at once, right, because you know your children, or I don't want my spouse to have the money all at once. I want to, you know, stretch it out over time, right? So they'll have all the money all at once, they'll get so much a month. That's smart thinking ahead, thinking about the future, then making sure your family, you know, financial future is secure, because when you go, you could, your, you know, your retirement can go to your, you know, your retirement can go, your social security, your full retirement, maybe your wife may get half, maybe your husband may get some of that, maybe, maybe, maybe not, it just really depends, everyone's different, and don't think because your neighbor is paying a certain price for whatever insurance policy they're paying for that you should be paying the same. I've had people call me, say, 'My neighbors only paying for life insurance this much amount. Well, you're not your neighbor, and I don't know where these neighbors come from, but, but you know, I guess they're in good hands, or whatever you want to. It's just you cannot compare yourself on anyone else. If you are an identical twin living across the street from each other, same zip code, and drive the same cars, and everything would have to be identical. There's nothing identical about what your neighbor has and with what you have, they're not, they're just different, and we look at every single person as an individual, not as a whole, you know. We're gonna group everyone in this category, no, everyone is treated individually, so we make sure that you know we're looking out for you for the best rate possible for your life insurance. Your life insurance is based on your, on you, your age, your health, the prescribed medications you're currently taking. Prescribed medications is big, you know, it's big when it comes to your life insurance. If you do have underlying health conditions, diabetes, cancer, right, a history of cancer, heart disease, kidney disease, you know. Don't give up. I can get you a life insurance policy, even if you have AIDS, HIV, from age 50 to 80. I can get your life insurance policy up to $25,000 of coverage. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection, 702-236-2624 236 2624 702-236-2624 Located Sahara Rancho in the US Bank Center eighth floor. I can help you with underlying health conditions, and there's no physical. That's the good part. Hey, there's no physical. Uh, you know, accidents have been, you know, if you, if you have an accident, and some of you have these accidental only life insurance policies. I haven't talked about it in a while, but you know, every now and then a person will come into my office with an appointment and say, you know what, I have this accidental only life insurance policy, I heard you talking about accidental only life insurance on the radio, and I just want you to look at and review it, and tell me, you know, tell me all about it, because most people don't know, you really don't know, you receive this information in the mail, and you say, "Hell, that looks really good, I can afford this, but it's accidental only, and it says accidental only, think about it, what it says. It says accidental only, that means it only paying just in case there's an accident. A regular insurance policy pays for accidents too, as well. But most of you will pass over, you know, natural causes, not as an accident.

Donald Marquez 20:55
And there's so many, you know, moving parts with that accident, you have to, and most people think about the first thing they think about, if I die in a car accident, that's the very first thing, and usually these accidental only policies could exclude car accidents, yeah, yeah, they exclude car accidents, you know, so accidental only, if you pass over heart disease, kidney disease, dialysis, cancer. That accidental only life insurance policy will not pay, regardless of how long you've had it. Because I always get this conversation, I will be in this policy forever, ever, and ever. Am I, you know, my dad had it, my mom had this policy for a long time. I do not offer accidental only life insurance. I like to sleep at night, and I sleep good at night, because I know I treat my customers right. You know, when they call me, if I can't answer, always call back. I'll say, I'll text them a message, I'm with a customer, call you back. You know, I'm that old school agent, you know, face to face or on the phone. If you call me, you can get me again. I'll call you back. Just as the old school way of doing business, and you know, and I won't leave. Hey, you call customer service, I don't have time. Sometimes you do have to call customer service, because there's, there's information that I don't have, you know, access to. There, every now and then, like on your life insurance policy, people call me up. Well, I changed bank accounts on my life insurance. I want to change that information on my life insurance. I'll direct you to the company. I'll give you the company's phone number, call them direct, because I don't take any payments in my office for auto insurance or life insurance. You contact the company that I put you with for your life insurance policy, and you give them that, that chain, that that information right over the phone. Now, if they can take it over the phone, that's great, but if not, they'll send you a form to fill out to update your information. Usually, this happens when you're using a card, a debit card or a credit card to pay your life insurance. You know, cards do expire, and if you do change your checking accounts with a life insurance policy, the life insurance company will don't, won't know it, the car insurance company won't know it, they'll just try to pull those funds out of your account and the account is closed, that could create your life insurance policy lapse in coverage, and if you had have a life insurance with a lapse in coverage and a recent passing, sometimes you can pay up to 12 months of the rears on the rears of that life insurance policy, depending on the company, depending on the company, and you have to read the policy, you could pay up to 12 months in arrears, and that policy would have to pay the benefit. My name is Don Marquez. This is your insurance connection news. You could use 702-236-2624 702-236-2624 Sahara Rancho is my location, US Bank Center. My business hours are Monday through Friday from 10am to 5pm and on Saturdays I like to enjoy myself, you know. So, and every now and then I will work on a Saturday by way of phone only. I can't go in the office, they close the office on Saturdays, I believe, to save money with life insurance. I have policies up to $450,000 There's no physical benefits, and are paid within a short period of time, like whole life insurance up to $50,000 No health exam, just a few health questions I ask, yes or no answers, and it's done pretty quick. And at the end of our, at the end of the application process, you know, we get an answer right away. We'll get a.. hey, you know, there's no physical.. this.. this client is approved, or this client is denied. I don't like to get denials, you know, because.. but you know, sometimes it happens. It's just.. you know, if you talk to enough people, and which I do, you know, you'll go.. I'll get a denial here or there. But that doesn't stop there, because I have other companies that I can put you with.

Donald Marquez 25:04
Yes, I have multiple companies, I sit up to 60 life insurance companies I work with, you know. So, no, no health examination, just a few questions, you know. I fill out the application, you just sit back, relax, and then you know, enjoy the conversation most people qualify, even with health issues, and this is the one I really do like most of all. Rates and benefits are locked in for the life of the policy. In other words, when I offer you a policy, your rate is not going to go up as you age. Your rate is not going up on your life insurance as you age. Now, if you're currently experiencing your life insurance policy increasing as you age every year. There are ways you can, you know, adjust what's going on, and if you have taken out a loan on your life insurance policy, and the loan is not being paid back, but you know all of a sudden you get received a statement in the mail every year, and that money you borrow, let's say 510 years ago, now has doubled, and you don't understand what's going on, and they're taking the money out of your cash value to make up for the premium premium payment that you should be paying when you have a policy, and you borrowed money against your policy, or it even not borrowed any money against your policy, but you know it's called a flexible premium when you're paying a certain dollar amount and you should be paying more. The life insurance company will take the money from your cash value to make up the difference, you know, because at the beginning of the policy, when you took it out, the rates were great, but as now as you built up your cash value, and some of these policies, the older policies may do this, some of them may not. It just really depends, and this is why it's important to have an insurance review. No obligation, there's absolutely no obligation, and this is a bonus right here. Quit smoking advantage with a life insurance policy. What you know, I have life insurance policies. We'll rate you as a non smoker for the first 36 months, right? We'll rate you as a non smoker for the 36 months, meaning you get the non smoker rates. Now, at the end of those 36 months, you will be tested to see if you still smoking, but it's a way to get in and stop quit smoking, you know, because most of my smokers I talk to a few of them will say, you know what, I smoke, I'm gonna continue to smoke the rest of my life, and others said I am going to quit smoking, so this is a quit smoking advantage program that we have that I can offer you, 702236262 022362624 702-236-2624 My name is Don Marquez. Go outside today and have a great day. We'll do this again next week. Thank you for listening.
