Hey friends, so in an earlier episode I was talking about how to spot the differences between when you're in your authentic self or your higher self versus when you're in your personality or your ego and today I want to give you some tips for how you can come back into alignment with your higher self when you notice you're not there. Okay, so if you're feeling triggered or stuck or
overwhelmed, lot of emotions, just lot of like chaos going on internally or around you. These are great tools to come back into a resonance and an embodiment and receive guidance from your higher self, from the wisdom that is within you, that's within your soul. Okay, so within each of us we have the personality, the ego that is formed throughout our childhood and that's all of the
subconscious beliefs that we form about ourselves life and others that are in our unconscious mind and they become our subconscious programming and by the time we're over 35, that's 90 % of what we think act and do which is pretty crazy to think about so if you are Struggling with an aspect of your personality or emotionally or with life stuff
It doesn't have to stay that way. It doesn't have to be fixed. You can absolutely move through it and shift it and release it. There's some deeper ways of healing that that I'll talk about at the end of this episode. But in the meantime, I want you to have a simple, actionable tool that you can use to keep coming back into alignment with your authentic self. Okay. So.
When you notice you are out of alignment, and how do you notice if you are feeling negative emotion, if you are feeling stuck, overwhelmed, or helpless, these are big indicators that you are in your ego, that you're in the perceptions and limitations of the beliefs that you formed when you were very young, okay? And so, what you do in a situation that feels overwhelming or daunting, and when you just feel stuck,
I want you to ask yourself this question. What would my higher self do? Now I use the word higher self. You can use true self, authentic self, soul. You can use what would my queen do? What would my inner warrior do? Whatever resonates with you is beautiful and perfect. But I want you to ask yourself, what would this version of me do? I will go with higher self for this episode.
What would my higher self do? And you can let this be like a meditative question where you ask it and you don't need to go digging for answers. That's just the conscious mind trying to work and that's gonna block the answer coming through. Okay, so you really wanna ask the question and then take a deep breath and just let it go and just allow an answer to appear into your awareness to bubble up, okay? And how that answer appears,
is gonna be different depending on who you are and how you receive messages through your intuitive senses. So, some ways you might get an answer are, one, you could get a message as a voice in your head that could say, do this, or my higher self would do this. If you get that message, amazing, write it down.
Take action on it, follow what that message tells you to do as much as you're able to, or just follow the next step. Maybe the message is take a deep breath. Maybe it's let it go. And so if it's let go, and just take the intention, imagine that you're all the stuff you're holding onto that's making it feel tight and uncomfortable. Just imagine just releasing your grasp and just letting the universe catch you. So whatever that message is, you don't have to know all of the steps. It's just the next step.
and that's what you're gonna receive is the next step. You may also too, feel it in your body as an energy, a sensation, an emotion, okay? So people who are kinesthetic will receive messages this way. When you ask what would my higher self do in the situation that you are struggling with, you may get an emotion wash over you, you may get a feeling of love or calm or peace. If you do,
I want you just to practice calling that energy in and you can call it through this question, what would my higher self do? And when you get that feeling wash over you, just let yourself stay in it, okay? Don't feel like you have to rush to the next thing. This is the divine wisdom coming from your soul to say, just be in this space, that's enough right now, okay? You might also get a sensation in your body, maybe a tingling, maybe...
expansion feeling in your chest just let yourself feel into it and let that feeling guide you deeper into it okay so you don't have to again have all of the steps it's just the next step and the message you receive be that an emotion or a sensation or something else is the next step so just let yourself be in that step okay that's step one another way you could receive a guidance from your higher self is with three
Having an idea, so maybe all of a sudden you feel inspired to go for a walk in the sunset or to send a certain email saying something that you got this beautiful inspiration to say. Whatever it is, this is the message from your higher self, okay? If it feels good and expansive, if it doesn't, if it feels like it's gonna be negative or harmful to you or others, that's not from your higher self. Don't listen to that message.
Messages from your higher self are going to feel freeing, honoring, loving, okay? So an idea coming from your higher self is also going to have that quality. And so if the next step that your higher self is coming to you as an idea of going for a walk in nature, then that's your next step, go for a walk in nature, okay? Simple as that. And so just let yourself, give yourself permission to follow through and do that.
Sometimes when one of the personality or the ego tries to control and part of control can be not surrendering to the higher self or the guidance of the higher self. I mean, hands up, my hand is up right now. If you have ever felt like I should do this, that's gonna be great for me, but then not done it. And that's okay, no judgment. It's just, this is the ego trying to stay the same and that's okay. Just send it love. It's all right. That's a part of you that just didn't feel safe.
or loved or honored or seen or worthy, okay? And so we don't want to judge that part of ourselves. We want to hold it with love while coming back into alignment with who we really are, which is your soul, which is your higher self, okay? So listen to that idea that might come through when you ask the question, what would my higher self do? Another way you could receive this message is through a visual in your mind's eye.
So maybe you see an image of yourself going for a walk or maybe you see yourself having this conversation that you've been dreading, you're very calm and relaxed in the process and saying things from the heart that are respectful and honoring for you and others. So there's a lot of ways that you can receive this guidance. And really what I'm guiding you to do here is,
just listen to that one next step. Again, you don't have to have all the steps figured out in order to take the next step, because everything is just step by step by step. And so when you take that next step, you're probably gonna feel better. No guarantees, but it's a start. And so when you do that, beautiful. Keep asking yourself that question, what would my higher self do? You can write that question down. You can...
write it down and put it somewhere you'll see it every day. could be your phone screen saver, it be your desktop screen saver, it could be a post-it note in your car, just somewhere that you will see that every day so that every time you see it you can ask yourself that question, what would my higher self do? And it could be in that moment or it could be about a situation that you've been feeling struck or stuck or overwhelmed by, okay?
So this is really about making it a reflex and a habit of continually checking in and asking for your higher guidance that's always available to you. And even when it feels like it's totally far away and non-existent, it is still there. It's just a frequency away. It's just an intentional way. And how we shift intentions and frequency is through questions like this. So when you ask a question like that, it's gonna open up your mind to receive this guidance, okay? And so,
Really, really, really just integrate. I just really want you to integrate that you don't have to have all the steps figured out in order to take the next step. That's the pattern of the ego. The ego wants to control everything and know the outcome before it happens, but life just doesn't work that way. As we move forward, universe is dynamic and responding to our actions and decisions and thoughts and feelings. So as we take one step, the universe is responding by bringing us the next step. Okay?
And so it's really a process of trusting life and knowing that you are supported, you are loved, you are held, you are safe. And the more you ask this question and receive and listen to that guidance, the more that feeling is going to grow of being supported by life. And the more you feel supported, the more life is able to support you. Pretty cool, huh? So another thing I want to talk about while I'm here with you is shifting your frequency. So when we are in our egos,
It can feel very dense, very heavy, very concrete and solid and that can feel like drudgery at times or very overwhelming at times. And so I want you guys, if you're feeling this way or just any time of day is great too, to try this exercise of just noticing where you can find the beauty in the environment that you are in in any given time. So if you are in the office, just look around, what is something beautiful?
about where you are. Maybe it's the way the light is streaming in through the window and hitting the wall. Maybe it's the colors in the room. Maybe it's there's a spacious feeling or maybe it's just you being able to breathe in the space. It doesn't have to be complex. Like the simpler the better. If you're outside, maybe it's the way the wind is moving through the leaves or the sun is hitting your skin and how that feels in your body. Maybe it's way that
The trees are swaying, okay? There's so many things that we can appreciate no matter where you are. Even if you are in a cold basement, you can find beauty in that space. There's always beauty to be found wherever you are. So as you're doing this, why do we do this? When you focus on what's beautiful around you, what you can appreciate around you, it is shifting yourself.
out of this dense vibration that the ego can get trapped in and moving it up into a higher frequency and an appreciation of beauty or something that you can appreciate or be grateful for. I like looking for beauty because when we do this, it nourishes us and it fills us back up. So it's something I did the other day was it was sunset.
I slightly warmer day, it's winter in Canada and so it's still cold but I went outside, I was looking at the sunset and I just stood there for a while appreciating it and just looking at the way it hit the trees and the way the trees were moving and just really let that fill me up and so the more that you do this the more it's going to nourish you on a soul level and then that extends out to a physical level, an emotional level, a mental level, this is just like
Nectar for your soul, okay? So when you let yourself appreciate the beauty around you there's more beauty coming into you There's more beauty coming into your life and you're raising your frequency And so when we raise our frequency, it's like shifting a dial to a different station. So if one station is a Broadcasting from the struggle bus when we come into appreciation and gratitude and noticing the beauty around us
We're shifting that dial up into a place of beauty, up into a place of a world that there's so much to be grateful for. And then more of that can come into your life. Okay, and so be patient with yourself, be loving with yourself. When you're in that really triggered state, it can be difficult because that's called a Magdala hijack. When you're triggered and overwhelmed, if you're really in like the deep emotion and the trigger, then don't feel like you need to just jump.
right out to appreciating all the beauty in the world because it's going to be a really big reach. Okay. At that point, you really just want to focus on calming your nervous system. And when you calm your nervous system, it's just coming back up to a baseline of feeling safe, of coming out of fight and flight. Okay. So that's not a time to rationalize or figure everything out. Your mind does not work properly in that state. The only thing you want to do then is just separate yourself from the situation as much as you can.
and take some deep breaths. Maybe place a hand on your belly and feel your belly expand as you inhale and collapse as you exhale. And just doing that for five, 10 minutes or longer, and that's gonna bring you back into rest and digest and out of fight or flight. And then once you've done that, then you can look around and appreciate the beauty around you. But don't feel like you have to go from zero to 60. That's gonna be a really far...
stretch, okay? One step at a time. Everything was built one step at a time. And so it says we don't need to know all of the steps before us, we just need to take the next step. There's a heaviness to that, there's emotions carried with that that we can carry throughout our whole lives and those are the triggers that come up when we're feeling stuck and overwhelmed. And so when you are able to go to those root places and release them from that root place from a very gentle and loving way, life transforms because you've transformed. And so it's just a beautiful thing to witness and a beautiful thing to experience. So I hope you can make it to that.
