Full show transcript:
What color? Don't look. Don't look at anything. Take your eyes off the computer.
Okay.
What color is candy corn?
What color is candy corn?
It's orange, white,
and yellow.
Okay. You say orange is on the top?
No.
Then white, then yellow.
No. Okay.
Mostly orange on the bottom, then white, then yellow on top.
Sometimes if you get the chocolate one, they throw in a brown to make it fun.
We're talking just to be.
But it's regular candy corn.
from the
top The point is
yellow, then a white line, then orange bottom. Wrong.
No, that's right.
You're wrong. It's white, orange, yellow.
No way, dude.
Yeah. way dude It is.
It is a white point. Then orange, then yellow.
That's awful.
Is that the actual Brock's or is that some knockoff?
I don't know. Look.
If you're gonna if you're gonna bring it up, you gotta make sure it's the good stuff.
Yeah.
It's
gotta be the actual Brock's candy colour. It's white, orange, yellow.
It is white on the tip, orange in the middle, and then yellow.
Well, that's not what I thought.
I didn't think yellow touched orange.
Yellow touch orange.
Yellow touch orange. You're a goner. Yeah, that's it. No, no one tell her the snake analogy. No one. Yellow touch orange, you're a goner. That's it.
It rhymes perfect. Yellow touch orange, you're a goner. Aha. That's so funny. You want me to be dead by a snake, don't you?
I've never seen a yellow and orange snake. Yellow touch orange, you're a goner.
It's Start to show.
Okay, here's today's show. Well, hi there.
Well, hey there.
I was just watching you do your
makeup because that's a thing you do early in the morning. Yeah.
And you uh you basically, from what I can tell, you just kind of throw stuff on your face, and then you use a different uh brush to kind of smoosh it around. Is that what doing your makeup's about?
Yes.
Throw a bunch of stuff in patches and then smoosh it around.
Yeah. You got it, pal. Here's what happened just now. Um I dropped. So I'm getting low, but I'm not ready to buy new.
Yeah, I
was looking like because there are times when you've got uh a toner or whatever that you
you cut it open.
Yeah, because there's still stuff inside there.
Sure.
And I'm gonna use it until it's gone.
Right.
So yeah, I if you can't squeeze it out, then I cut it
open and you can like dig the stuff out.
So my makeup actually, it's not pumping the makeup out, and so I have to take the lid off and then like
you're using the tiny straw as a spoon.
It's not a straw, like the pumper part.
Yeah,
yeah.
The tube.
It's like a little straw. Yeah. And it's got all this makeup on here. See?
So then I can do this. Yep.
But I just dropped that and I went, oh, because I didn't want it to go on my clothes.
Ah,
luckily I got it. The foundation doesn't wash out easy. Well, right.
And then I got uh no, it's a question.
Yes. Correct.
Okay.
And then I got a big stain, a makeup stain on my clothes.
I see. Who wants that? Yeah. Well, listen, if you don't know, here's a little behind the scenes action. When you wake up as early as we do, sometimes you do your makeup at work.
Yeah.
Uh I don't do the makeup thing.
I just I could do it at home, but I
what time would you have to wake up? Four something? No.
I it takes me like 10 minutes.
Oh, okay.
I don't do a lot of makeup. But I just also Most of the time we're already running late anyway.
True. And so I gotta get up and get out the door. Yeah. No, it makes sense. It's real life, right?
Because I like to sleep. I really prefer sleep over much else.
Yeah. Got it. Got it. Well, I'm gonna tell you about a dream I had coming up in the 7 o'clock
hour because I had the
craziest vivid dream, and there are some things I need to hash out.
With me?
We got I've got I've got dreams going on.
You can't be mad at me about things I didn't do.
I'm mad about you uh at all.
You should be mad about it.
Well, I'm mad about you, but I'm not mad at you about my dream.
Okay.
Uh no. I don't I don't blame you for anything that goes on in my sleep.
But that was it was in color.
It's crazy. Like really vivid, and I gotta work some stuff out. So that's coming up. Seven o'clock.
Okay.
Because I we gotta talk. Okay.
I like to I'll analyze it. I like to dream.
Perfect. Analyze. Okay.
Bizarro. Great. Can't wait.
All right. That's coming up. Good morning. Let's get you some good news. Uh, this is kind of interesting. A GPS mistake turned a life-saving uh turned into a life-saving miracle. A total stranger took a wrong turn and ended up saving a family of
14 from a burning home in Georgia.
Oh, this is fascinating. So Casey Sparks and his son, they were heading home to Alabama. Their GPS failed them and sent them on a detour down this unfamiliar rural highway. And while they were trying to get back on the right path, they spotted flames pouring from a house at the top of a hill.
So Casey immediately pulled over. He rushed inside the home, waking up the dad, uh James, and helping his wife, 11 children, and a grandchild get outside to safety just minutes before the fire swept through the structure. Uh the family lost their houses, total loss. Uh, but everyone made it out unharmed, and neighbors immediately rallied with calls, donations, and a ton of support to help them rebuild their lives, which is phenomenal.
But Casey said that he was never in fear during the intense moments, but he admits that he was working on adrenaline and trying to stay focused. We're from the South Man, he said, and we help each other. We help our neighbors. I mean, I would hope somebody would do that same thing for me. And uh what a crazy thing. You're just driving along. The GPS is like the alternate route. You end up on the wrong road. You're trying to figure things out, and you see a house on fire and you run and help. Like what a crazy series of events. Wild.
That's insane.
I know.
Like there was there was some other hands involved in that.
Something's going on there.
That is wild.
Just wild. Uh anyway. Good news. Let's dissect my vivid dream.
Oh, please.
I've pulled up a dream dictionary here because I wanted to get a few things sorted out before I kind of dove into this. This dream I had last night, slash this morning. Uh, is one of those dreams that was in color. And it's not often that you wake up from a dream and you go, like, whoa. What was going on? But that's kind of how I woke up this morning, and you were like, Why are you awake?
And I'm like, You were awake before me.
That doesn't usually happen. I was I had to wake up.
This was this was strange.
This was not uh, this is not like relationship driven. It was so bizarre. Uh so I've I've kind of tried to pick this out. Um pick this apart. Been working on an estate for over a year. And so I've been dealing with some different houses and stuff. So it probably is no surprise that having a house that's like, oh, I have to deal with this house is kind of how things started.
So I'm like, great. I gotta deal with a house. Uh and so I'm dreaming of this this old house, which first of all, houses are a very common yet symbolic dream symbol that represents the dreamer's whole self. And the house can be seen as a complex structure of the mind that contains repressed memories, past events, emotional functions, blah, blah, blah. I'm telling you, the house that I walked into, couldn't really find my way around. For some reason, I've I found this doll in a closet or something. Dolls are their own thing.
And it was on a string. He was packing it around. We talked about dolls yesterday.
Yeah. Okay.
Go ahead.
Right. You have in a creepy doll room. Okay.
Go ahead.
So it was on a string or whatever. When I got to this one door, it kind of freaked out. The doll like animated and was like scared to be like, I don't want to go in that room. And I tried the door anyway. The door was locked.
So I couldn't get in. But I could see like light coming from underneath it. And I was like, I want to know what's in there. So I went, just continued down this hall, found another entrance into that same room. A door was blocked by a bunch of stuff, the one that was locked. Uh, and so there was no there was no way the door would have even opened if it you couldn't get in the room if it had opened. But now I'm in the space. I don't know where the doll on string went. Irrelevant after that point.
Okay.
I'm looking around this this room, and I and this room is incredibly familiar and comfortable, but it is stuffed full of stuff. Lots of masks, lots of like faces, like rubber masks, like
Halloween style masks, like a Frankenstein or a Hulk or something. Uh and as I'm wandering around and exploring, this is a double level, like huge room. And it's like a library with all these shelves on the sides and stuff, and these staircases that go up either side and around the rim, the big fireplace at the end. But the room is just full of stuff.
Like old memorabilia. I told you, it's insane. I can see this place in my brain. And I feel like I've been in this room before. Like this is a very familiar, comfortable space, other than it's just stuffed with stuff.
Full of memorabilia. Auntie from Honey I Shrunk the Kids. Right there.
Auntie.
And there's a sticker on the back right behind the head, signed by the cast. Rick Moranis' signatures on there.
What?
No kidding. I'm telling you, this is a weird dream. So I'm looking around at all this stuff, and I'm like, this is there's all this stuff. There's a giant top hat. Biggest top hat you can imagine. I don't know what it's doing there. There's another hat that's made to look like a chicken. It's got all these feathers all the way around it. Looks like a chicken, little head on the front. What is that hat? Strange hats.
I don't know what's going on. So I keep looking around. There's a Winnie the Pooh flip book, this old, like Winnie the Pooh flip book. Uh, there's all these cupboards along the walls with like deep, deep cupboards that are just like stuffed with different boxes of stuff. And there's some that are empty, but there's like a few items kind of in like grocery bags that are kind of stuck in there. And I'm like, but they're dusty and cobwebby. And I'm like, what's in there?
I didn't explore. Uh, and then there's this big hutch thing, and this is where it gets real weird. This big hutch thing, and I open up the bottom, and so it's probably I don't know, four feet, these shelves at the bottom, these drawers, cupboards, whatever, open them up inside.
It's like a closet rack and hanging on these uh on this rack. You know what's in there? Junky teenage mutant ninja turtle costumes. They look like pajama shirts with hoods. I know hanging on little cardboard, like torso-shaped cardboard hangers, and they're just hanging in there, and then there's really nice ones, and I'm like, and you're there, and I go, you gotta come see these.
You're not gonna believe what I just found. And I pull it out and I hand you the Michelangelo one, and you put it on, and you're like, yeah, this is sweet. And it was uh, it was really cool. And then I woke up and I went, what just happened? Where was I? What is going on here?
We gotta find that place. We gotta find those junkie TMT. What is it?
TNT Yeah, TMNT.
We gotta find those costumes.
Yeah, we
gotta find those junky turtle costumes.
Ruining my dreams. Uh-uh. These junky homemade TMNT costumes.
You had a lot of brain matter to unpack last night.
What was going on? So yeah, I woke up at like five and I went, I gotta not think about that anymore. That was wild. Anyway, whoever wants to analyze that, a lot going on. I don't know where that top hat came from or that weird chicken hat. There's so much stuff in there. Old suitcases, like there's just stuff everywhere. So I have a lot of questions. Why is it so cluttered?
Like you don't know where
you but I've also I've been I don't know where what the house was. I know the room, I recognize the room. I don't know. I've been in that room.
But you don't know where.
I don't know where.
Interesting.
Maybe in another dream or whatever. I've been in that space.
Weird.
But I don't remember it being all cluttered and junky. So I don't know what's going on.
Fascinating.
I know. Dreams are so interesting.
Because where do they come from? And what do they mean?
I don't know. Interesting.
We're gonna find that room. We're gonna find those junky turtle costumes.
We're gonna get it. See if there was some anything about clutter, not garbage. It wasn't garbage, it was just clutter. But anyway. Because it was cool stuff. It was just piled sky high.
Maybe it was just your brain.
Yeah, it's
just my it's literally my brain is just a jarbled mess in the clutter. Yeah, not a mess, just in the flutter.
Put stuff away. But I also was just the other day sorting my studio, which is just a bunch of stuff. And so I think everything's just culminated into one giant vivid dream.
Yeah, boy, was it wild?
And in color, I could see everything. I could hear things. I could like textures worked. When I picked up the Leonardo swords, I could feel them rattle in the in the plastic sheaths, like really
detailed, really detailed.
Anyway, whatever that means.
Thanks for contributing to the clutter.
Want to talk about paint?
Sure.
I went uh to the store yesterday. I was looking at different paint colors because uh I don't know if you've looked around this place, but everything's brown. It's brown.
Yeah, it's brown,
everything's brown.
Color is the walls, brown.
Colors the trim around the windows, brown.
What color is the floor? Brown. What color is the floor out there? Brown. What color is the hallway paint? Brown. Everything's brown. Brown everywhere. Why is it all devoid of color?
I don't know. Everything's brown. It's boring beige brown.
Yeah.
So I'm working on uh putting together an office of sorts for myself here. And uh I'm looking at paint because I'm like, I can paint over the brown before I move in here. So I was looking at different colors. And I gotta tell you, I don't like the way that they light the stuff up at the store because it is not a true representative of the color
in your space. It really is until you get it in your space.
Yeah.
Because everybody's everybody's light is gonna be different.
Everybody's trim is gonna be different.
So And I hate finish work so much.
Like so so much. I hate trim. I hate painting trim, I hate hanging trim. I don't like the trim stuff. And so I don't want to paint it. I just want to tape it off and then paint the walls and be done.
So you're gonna keep the trim brown.
Um I wanna, it's and it's a darker brown than the beige brown that all the walls are. Yeah.
So I was trying to find a color that would be complementary to that brown, but that also would uh, you know, liven up the place a little bit. So I found this purplish kind of color. And in the store, I found uh a swatch that I was like, this kind of looks like the brown on the trim.
And so I was putting the two next to each other, and I was like, this actually might work. So I brought the swatch back to put it on the wall in here to look.
This is so purple.
Yeah, it's crazy. Well, it's called purple funk.
No, I know, but it looks uh in the store under their crazy bright light that they have on all the color
swatches, it doesn't look the same as this.
It looked way less uh it kind of looked more mauve and more gray. But now this is so purple.
Well, I just looked at what colors complement brown, cream and beige. You need some earthy shades like sage green.
Oh, I thought about
it. Terracotta
orange and
a
denim. Okay, then they had a blue, a denim, you said.
Yes.
The blue they had was so bright blue, and I went, I'm not.
There's multiple shades of blue.
I know there are, but uh, I looked at the like discount thing
where they like we mixed this paint and nobody claimed it.
Yeah, because I was thinking I'd save some bucks.
Yeah.
So I was looking at that little shelf, and uh they had a black, they had brown just like brown that we already have, and then they had blue, and I'm talking blue.
Well, you don't
want like nerf blue.
You want something calming, earthy, yeah.
I
do soothing.
I'm I'm maybe I'll look in the greens.
Yeah,
I didn't spend a lot of time in the
green, like a sage green
would be nice. That
would
actually be really nice with the brown, yeah.
Trim. That sounds that sounds right up your alley,
actually. It does,
it's very earthy.
Yeah, I need to step away from the purple funk.
Yeah, why would you even
pick it up because I just thought it looked in the store, it looked good next to the brown that I had picked up. So I went, that actually looks good.
Well,
it didn't look good in this room. So I like the sage green idea.
I just want to say kind
of look like the outside.
Well, okay. We painted our daughter's room kind of a sagey green a couple of years ago. We might have some paint left over from that. If you want to really save a penny. Maybe.
Um, depending on how much we have.
I don't even know where it is.
I'll have to look. Uh, nonetheless, I'm working on painting.
Painting.
And trying to pick
colors
so that I don't have to look at brown all the time.
Painting is the worst.
It's not gonna be fun.
Luckily, it's a small space.
It is a it is quite small. Yeah. I mean, that's not even a 10 by 10 room.
We painted our basement this winter. That was a big undertaking
project. I
just noticed there's a small piece of wall in between the bathroom and the craft room that we missed.
It's itty bitty. That thing is like it's a one-inch.
I understand.
We'll get a little brush.
But we missed it. I went, hey.
Or couldn't be bothered.
No, there's a sp there's a spot of it that has been painted. So we remembered it for about a minute, and then yeah, I think you were right when I brought it up. You were like, I think we needed to go get a small paintbrush, and then we forgot about it.
Yep.
Oh man. Oh man. Yeah.
Well, I get a paint here real soon. Like, I don't know, within the next few days, but I'm gonna do it on work time.
Okay. Because
then I can go throw a coat up, do some work, go throw a coat up, do some work and be done.
Okay.
That sounds like the way to do it. So good job on the sage. I like the sage green idea.
Google. Google did that.
Well, thanks. You running the Google.
The last couple of mornings have been a little chilly, and so we've had to do a little bit of scraping. And you were being so nice, and you scraped the kids' windows for them too.
Well, I feel like they're, you know, they don't need to like wake up and be cold and have to scrape windows. Like
that's nice.
It takes just a few seconds. It's no big deal. I mean, we don't have uh we have four drivers and we don't have
like a giant garage that we can all fit in,
so uh we all have to scrape, and I figure if I can save them a few minutes in the cold, that's good.
That's nice of you.
Yeah. I think uh I noticed that as I was like I scraped our son's uh windows, and then as I was getting in the truck, they were getting iced up again.
Yeah, he said that yesterday.
They were still getting.
He said, I
know you scraped, but
I still had to scrape when I left.
But uh, maybe it helps. Maybe it makes it a little uh less thick
layery.
Because it was tough scraping um our daughter's car this morning. There was one window that was just not easy.
What I know to be true is that you woke up before me this
morning and I was
being real
slow
about getting moving, and you were up and at them, and you started my car, so when I got my car, it was all warm and toasty.
Was your seat warm?
Yes,
I wish I had that. My seat was not warm.
I'm sorry.
Got done uh fishing last night, and my buddy John goes, Oh, you got the the seat heaters in there? And I said, No. I have a backup camera though, so I got that going. And he's like, Oh man. He's like, you gotta get them.
This is the best thing ever. Having the the thing when he's he's like, you get done fishing, you get to go warm up. That's nice. He said uh his wife's car has the seats, uh the the heated seats, and so whenever they finish up at like watching sports games and stuff uh with the kids and grandkids that get into the the car and off you go, and it's nice and toasty and warm. I'm like, man.
It is nice and toasty and warm.
Yeah. And I was telling him you run yours all summer. Like you run it all the time because it helps your back. It feels nice. He's like, Yep, my wife does the same. You'll have the air conditioner blowing in her face and her seat warmer on.
Yeah, because it's nice on your back.
Yeah.
I'm old.
Feels good.
No, I don't have that. I need to give that. I appreciated that you uh scraped windows and that you heated up my car this morning. That was so nice.
Doing what I can.
I know. You should do it more often.
You're asking a lot.
I could get used to a heated car.
Is that right every day?
Yeah.
Uh-huh.
You know those people that have heated floors in their bathrooms.
Sure.
Uh I wonder what that's like. Don't you think that'd be nice?
Nah. Nah, you'd hate it. You don't want that. You know, you know, you only think you want that. You don't. You don't actually.
No, I kind of do. No.
want that a lot. No, You'd hate it. Your feet get sweaty. You'd be like, never mind, take it out.
We have someone living in our home who every time he uses the bathroom, he moves the rug around because his feet get cold.
I'm like, dude. Stop it.
I go, who messed up the rug again?
My feet were cold. Put it back when you're done.
This is the time of the year where I say, I'll never be warm again.
Sorry about that.
Do you tie one shoe tighter than the other?
Negative. You
don't?
No.
No. Okay.
Do you?
How tight do you tie your shoes?
Not very tight.
Why?
I don't like them too tight. Mostly. That's mostly white.
Oh, okay. I like to tie mine pretty tight. I like You
do?
I like a tight shoe.
Do you?
Yeah.
That's interesting to me. I I just don't. It feels like my feet are choking.
I feel like if they're not tied too tight, then they just get too loosey-goosey.
And so then what's gonna happen?
They're flopping around.
Oh no. That's not it. I don't tie them so not tight that they flop around.
Well, I have a pair of shoes on today that I don't typically wear. They're a little bit too big.
Which ones?
They're yellow vans.
Oh, okay.
These ones.
Yeah. The ones that were sitting in the living room.
Yeah, yeah, yeah.
Got it?
Because I prepared last night.
So that I did you pick those because they match the sports on your shirt?
Yes.
Uh-huh. You were doing the top match the bottom thing.
How cute, huh?
Like if my whole outfit today is cute. On point.
I know. On fleek.
Whatever. This
drip is dripping.
Okay.
Bussing.
And the kids are grossed out. Okay. Anyway. Um but you tied them tight, huh?
I these ones I tied extra tight because the laces on vans, I don't know if you ever wear vans.
Sometimes.
They get like. I don't know what it's called. The part that laces up in front of the tongue of a shoe. Is that called something?
No.
It feels wide when you're wearing a van. And so I have to like
really feels wide or you think it looks wide.
Both.
And what's the problem with your foot looking wide?
No, I don't. It's not that my foot is looking wide. It's that part of the shoe where it laces up that feels wide. So then I have to start at the bottom and really cinch it up because I like it to be tight.
Uh-huh.
So Well,
that's neat. I don't like them too tight.
I prefer I prefer a little bit of wiggle room in my shoes. But also, I wear like a no-show sock.
Sure.
A lot of the time.
And
there's a there's a certain type that I like that don't move, but there are types that move. And so if I don't wear my shoe really tight, then the sock will slip down.
Uh huh.
And I can't stand a slip-down sock.
Why don't you wear a different sock?
Because I like this sock.
I understand, but you could wear just like a different sock. And then you wouldn't have the slip down issue.
But I have a lot of that pair of socks.
Sure, you do. That's a fact.
And that little rubber thing that's supposed to hold it on doesn't really do it. No.
Yeah.
But I the reason I brought it up is because my left shoe isn't tight enough,
and I can feel my socks slipping.
And every time I get up to walk, it slips more and more and more.
You're gonna have to fix that.
I have to fix it. And so now I have to get real serious and get tight.
I did learn a trick about my shoes.
What?
Uh uh, how you can stop it from like blistering your ankle and slipping it all.
Uh huh.
There's a a there's an extra eye hole, uh lace hole next to the the like the last one, and you can use those. You you don't crisscross again and use them. You loop it back through the same side, and then you take each end through that new loop you created, and when you cinch that down, that shoe is on for serious.
So you're gonna have to show me that trick.
That's like a hiking thing. That's a big hiking hack. Um if you don't know about the extra little lace eye hole on there and how to use it, you gotta look that up. I just learned that this year.
Yeah, I didn't know that.
It's awesome for hiking.
I wear uh I have a foot brace to help when I'm walking
long distances, and when I wear my foot brace when we've been taking our evening walks,
yeah, I have to really cinch up that
shoe.
Because otherwise the foot brace will kind of come up in the back, and then
my whole sock, even if I wear a big sock, it slides my sock down.
So I have to really like get it.
Well, here's those sock garters.
No.
That's a good look. You get that elastic around your calf with the little garter thing that clips onto the top of your sock to hold them up.
Yeah, I'm good.
Those
are cool.
It's a good look.
You bought a boat on Monday evening, and then you've been driving around with the boat still attached.
I've been getting a lot of grief from people about driving around the boat. Uh it's kind of funny, actually.
Yeah, our boss said yesterday Do you not know how to unhook that?
Yeah, he's like, he's like, oh, what's the story, man? Do you need help? Do you need me to come over and help you unhook your boat? Like no, I got it. I just am waiting to show it to everybody, dragging it around to show it off. Not done yet.
I'm in a parade.
Yeah. This is my boat parade. Get with the program, stand on the curb and wave when I drive by. Come on, man. It's a boat parade. What do you mean?
You finally last night decided to take it off.
Yeah.
And you had our son go out and help you move it.
Right.
Any
here's here's what I quickly learned. Uh it's heavier than the utility trailer.
Okay.
Which I I knew just looking at it.
It's gotta be heavier than the full on boat.
Yeah, it is a full on boat. Uh but I thought, you know, it's a it's a small trailer. It's not like a huge boat. I'll tell you, it's easier to maneuver in the water. Like guaranteed. Like you can move a boat when it's floating one hand. But when it's on a trailer, it's heavy.
I'll tell you that our son was not pleased to be helping you move the boat.
Really?
He came inside and he was like, I don't know. Why does it? He was all mumbling and grumbling.
Mumbling and grumbling. He's mumbling and grumbling.
He was all like. And I was like, what's what's going on? And he goes, Well, he's trying to push the boat over the curb.
And I finally just said, why don't we move a car so that we could just put it in the driveway?
And he goes. This is back stant telling the story.
And dad goes, Oh, that's what I do. Well, no, it's not what happened, but that's fine. That's just fine. And
that was like
we'll let that be what happened. Because it's easier than what actually happened.
And then you get the boat moved onto the lawn. Yeah.
And then he comes inside and he's still a little bit like
we're gonna live that boat on the lawn. Who's idea was it to buy a boat?
Why is he so grumbly mumbly?
I don't know.
Who's idea was it to buy a boat? I I walked back in after I'd finished putting stuff away, and I and we had to move cars because the the cars were parked in the wrong order for who has to leave first. It's a whole thing.
It is a whole thing.
Our house is a circus.
It is.
So after all of that was taken care of, uh, and I had to put our uh our vote sign back in the in the grass to put that back, and then uh went back into the house, and the two are you standing in the kitchen, like you like I walked in on a conversation I shouldn't be hearing.
You did.
What were you saying?
I just told you.
Oh, that's his mumble grumble. Buy a Buy a boat.
Where are we getting from putting that boat? I go, that's what I said. When he bought the boat, I go, where are we gonna put the boat? I guess it's gonna live on our front yard now forever.
Well, I told you I'm gonna decorate it. We'll put a skeleton in there for Halloween, and then I'll switch it up. I'll put a turkey in there for a couple of weeks, and then that's Santa's sleigh.
My favorite part is
Baby New Year.
There's a lot of parts about having kids that I really like, but one of my favorite parts is when you have old enough kids
that they come to you
to complain about the other parent because they know you're gonna get it.
You get
it, right? Well I Well,
I went to ask him to I said, Hey, could you give me a hand? I gotta I gotta move the boat. I gotta take it off the truck. I'm getting made fun of. And he said, uh, do I need shoes? I said, You're probably gonna watch. I said I'll be outside.
And then he came outside. I had it unhooked, and I was trying to get it up the up the curb over on the other side, uh, thinking it would be like the utility trailer that I can just pull right up there, but it's not the same. And he was trying to push from the back, and I think the way he was pushing was down, and so I'm holding uh the tongue of the trailer, trying to pull, and he's pushing down on the boat, so it's pushing this up, and I'm like, this is never gonna work. And I can't see him on the other side, so we can't even see what he's doing to be like I can adjust what I'm doing to a so finally I was like, we we're gonna have to go a different way.
We're gonna have to go over there. I said, I think we can fit it between your car and uh an emory's car just up the driveway. And one wheel went up nice and easy, the other one uh got stuck on the curb, and so I was like, let's put like a couple of blocks and it'll make a ramp thing. And then he was like, Why don't we just move a car? We gotta move cars anyway. We do, and then he went to get keys. It was a whole thing.
Okay. Uh
When he
when he was mumbling grumbling to me, I go, I'm just glad he asked you to help him and not me. Cause thanks, because I hate moving stuff with you. Hey.
Our dog, Luna, has several different Halloween costumes. We did not get a new one this year, And that's okay. She's got a chicken costume.
She's got a pizza costume.
She has a lion
head,
uh, which is hilarious to put on.
She does a bat wings, yeah.
Uh, and then she has a a myriad of jackets and sweaters and hoodies and all kinds of clothes that she hates to wear.
Yeah.
Uh, but she has them. Uh and and we could dress her up and we could take her to Cal Ranch, and we could enter her in the Peto Ween contest. Uh, the Peto Ween costume contest for pets is happening on Halloween.
That's the day after tomorrow from 10 to 2. Now the costume contest judging happens at one, but you can bring your costume pet down and you can uh have a chance to win a year's worth of free pet or animal food, uh, which is really cool.
So if you uh if you've got a pet that you want to bring down. Now, this isn't dog o'ween or cat o ween, it's pet o ween. And on their flyer, there's a rabbit and a chicken, and it's cow ranch. So you know they've got the feed for all kinds of different animals. Dr.
I'm just saying if you have snake. like a pet snake or a bearded dragon with little rabbit ears.
Dress it up.
Or uh that reminds me of the Cadbury commercial
where they had a whole bunch of different animals dressed as rabbits. Uh I I imagine someone's got like a small highland cow or something that they could bring dressed up as something. Look, it's the pet o ween, and you can enter uh on Halloween between 10 and 2. Judging happens at one.
Uh, but pet o ween is going on at Cal Ranch. Your local Cal Ranch. So wherever you're located, go to your local cow ranch and you can celebrate Pet O Ween for a chance to win prizes.
That's awesome.
Halloween. What did I say? Noon to two? Ten to two.
It's 10 to 2. 10 to 2.
Judging begins out. at one. Now I have to go back and look. I gotta pull up the the email. Where'd the email go? I got it right here. What time's the thing?
10 to 20 to 200. Judging at one. at one. Okay, good. That's what I thought I said. At your local cow ranch door.
There you go.
So whenever you get involved in a hobby, you do a lot of research into that hobby.
Yes.
And that research includes YouTube videos.
A lot of YouTube. Yeah.
I love YouTube.
Then I learn a lot from YouTube.
That's what we typically end up watching is. Oh, I'm into hiking and backpacking. So here's a backpacking video. Let's watch this backpacking video.
I'm watching those all the time. Let's be clear. Like anytime like there's a couple of people that I follow, I subscribe to their channels, and when they post new stuff, I I like to watch their stuff. There's there's a lady out of Boise I watch, her name's Miranda. She's awesome. Um, I watch her stuff often. Uh, because she's hiking in this area, so it's kind of fun to see her stuff. Plus, she's really like knowledgeable on gear, and I like learning about new gear and what what's good food on the trail and stuff like that.
Darwin, I watch him. He's he's got his entire product line. He's out of Flagstaff, and he's he's uh a great guy to watch. There's a few that I like to watch. Yeah,
Dixie's great.
I really
like her.
And then you watch a lot of fly fishermen.
That's right.
Wildfly,
fly all season.
Uh-huh.
I I could list them. I've got my channels.
You do, I know. And then that's usually if you have control of the remote. That's usually what we end up watching is these YouTube videos. Now, lucky me.
Yeah,
it's boats.
Okay, awesome. So there was a I'm trying to learn about uh about boat setup is uh is kind of my my focus right now.
Yeah.
Uh is on what do I need in the boat, like what's the essential gear? Um, what are the things that I that I have uh the things that people overthink sometimes, like sunscreen, you know. Extra ponchos. I learned about a little extra poncho action yesterday.
It's good to have ponchos in there because sometimes not everybody remembers rain gear, and if you get out in a rainstorm on accident, it's nice to have extra ponchos, you know.
What I do appreciate about this is that yes, you do a lot of research and you are fully equipped, you're fully prepared.
That's right.
Whenever we go anywhere, you're like, oh, I got I got one of those. You are very prepared.
If we go camping, if we go fishing, you have It is the motto.
you have what you need. You are you have the tools to succeed.
Um as they say. unless I'm like, you know what would be fun is let's go on a hike in April, and the road has a little bit of snow on it, and I don't bring traction boards and recovery gear, and then we get stuck in the street.
Stuff that you have. All the things I have that I didn't throw in the truck, and then we got stuck in the snow. Uh-huh.
That happened.
I do. I remember that.
Yeah. Bad day. So I'm not always 100%
of the time prepared.
There are there are times where I lack the judgment call to make the right decision. But anyway.
Whatever. Well, now. Lucky me, we're watching boat videos.
Well, and specifically, I wanted to watch one last night. I picked a shorter one and I wanted to watch it because I wanted my algorithm on YouTube to start feeding me that content.
And so if you search for something and watch one video all the way through, it will then feed you more of that content. So I I was trying to program my algorithm last night. Um and it worked. And now I will have the the right recommended videos for me to continue to explore this topic. Lucky me.
Well, I don't have to watch them with you.
I just had to watch the one.
Well, yeah, because that's the time when I watch the two.
Here's the thing though, too. I do an awful lot of complaining about it, but initially I grumble about it and I go, Oh, let's watch this hiking video. And then I get kind of pulled into it. Even last night when you pulled up that boat video, I was like, I don't want to watch this boat video. I don't want to watch this boat video. This is going on in my brain.
I don't want to watch this boat video.
Why are we watching this?
And then you're like,
but the dog's pretty cute. All right, I'll watch this boat video.
See, and I and I uh found a woman fishing guide who was uh who was doing the video, so that helped too.
What I still don't
know
is where the passenger is supposed to take a nap
on the boat. No one has told us that yet. All right. Uh my I'm gonna text my buddy.
Yeah, but right now, and I'm gonna say uh I'm gonna need that napping. Yeah, he says, I'm gonna send you some videos of my wife napping on the boat.
Yep. He's like, I got her she is comfortably passed out with a book on her face. He's like, she is asleep.
Prove it. Okay.
I will get the photo.
You get the proof.
You're gonna dig it, I think. I think you're gonna like it. Anyway.
We'll see.
Well, no, not giving it make any promises. We'll see.
You posted a video the other day. We were at the Halloween store, and there was an animatronic trash can, and when you push on it, there's a raccoon that comes
out.
Why why did you say that that was me?
Uh, because you throw trash around like a raccoon. You have the ability, whenever we talk sports, or we talk about Mario kart, or we talk about anything really in life in general that has any hint of a competition to it. You start talking trash, but your trash is just reckless. It's not necessarily strategic. You don't have like a goal in mind.
You just like to talk trash to feel good about talking trash. Yeah, I just want to cut the other person down.
That's what I'm saying.
In a big deal. There's no like, there's no like I know my ability matches my trash. You just go, here's trash. And so I for several years have called you a raccoon. Some
might say
that I win the trash talking competition.
It's not a competition.
No, it is.
Stop it.
Okay.
So you just throw trash around when you start talking trash.
Let me tell you a story that
happened yesterday. I
was at my job.
All right.
And there was a delivery man.
Yeah.
Uh I don't know this delivery man. Some of the delivery people we see quite frequently. So there is like a there's a nice exchange.
Like, hey, good to see you again.
How's things? Still delivering those packages. I see. This was a new delivery man I had never seen before.
I'd never met him, don't know him. It's a total stranger.
And as I was directing him on where to put the delivery, I noticed that he was wearing a Green Bay Packers Lanyard.
Oh no. And you are a Minnesota Vikings fan, and that is an in division rivalry.
Yeah.
And I should have had a filter and I should have stuffed myself from saying something.
But I did it.
But you went six and oh, baby.
Yeah, I said, Packers. And he went, what? And I go, Oh, your lanyard with total disgust. And he goes, Oh, yeah, we're not doing so great. And I go, not as good as the Vikings, that's for sure. And it kind of like went on.
Because no one expects it from you. And I and I I really like that about you being a football fan, is that no one expects that from you. They go, like, she doesn't know what she's talking about. And then you go, okay, here we go. And they go, What are you?
doing? Like, what are you doing? Like, you know these things. To be clear. So funny. I don't know a lot, but I know enough.
Yeah.
To do some terrible trash talking.
Right.
So he was totally caught unaware. And I think he was just like, I don't want to start anything, lady. Just trying to do my job.
So there's this video on our social media now on TikTok and Instagram and Facebook. You can go see. Uh, where I step on the little thing, and this raccoon pops out of the garbage can, and I say, Look, it's you in the garbage can throw in your trash every which way.
After he left, I felt kind of bad because I went, he was not, he wasn't expecting that. He was just doing his job. He was just wearing a simple little Packers Lanyard, and here I am, like, oh, really? You're gonna come in here wearing that. And he went, I don't want any trouble.
Like slowly backing away.
Oh, geez. Oh, geez.
Well, I'm
sorry to that delivery, man. I hope I see him again so that we can apologize.
So you can go still not six and oh, baby.
He probably went back to his boss. He was like, please don't put me on that route again.
There's a crazy woman in there.
A while ago we started Cinnamon Roll Club.
Uh-huh. I'm just gonna to keep it easy. Yep, we did. Go ahead.
We still haven't had any cinnamon rolls.
That is correct.
Um, our daughter just sent us a video of uh your favorite, your favorite treat of all time is biscoph cookies.
I love biscuff.
I know you do.
Love it. It's keeping me fat.
Well, she just sent us a recipe for a biscoph cinnamon roll.
Yeah, she wants me to be fat.
I think she wants me to be fat too, and I'll tell you why.
Why is that?
Because I got home yesterday. She has the plate of cookies that she made, and I got home yesterday from work and I went, oh, cookies.
I had two yesterday.
I had two. also.
How many?
I had two. I just
had two.
that was it. I had to. And then after dinner, she went to grab one, and I was kind of cleaning up the counters, and she handed me one, and I said, No, I've already had my limit today. And she just kept like, here you go. Here you go. And I said, No, I don't want another cookie. I do, but I don't. And she was like, just eat it. Just eat it. Why does she want us to
be eating?
I did not eat it. I put it back.
Well, that was very good of you.
I know it.
Nice.
But why does she want us to be fat?
I think she wants us to eat the cookie she made.
Well, I have been.
But you got over the initial five, and now you've tame you've tamed down to two. Yeah. Nice.
Although last night I was lying in bed and I go.
Well, yeah, your stomach went blow. And I said, Whoa, dude, are you hungry? And you're like, I think my body wants a cookie.
I think I just want a cookie.
I think my body wants a cookie.
I didn't eat one.
Nope. You know why? Because it was too cold. Yeah, I couldn't get out of the country.
I'm not too comfortable. No way.
That's the noise your body makes when it wants a cookie, huh? Yeah. Okay.
Okay. And uh that's all I gotta say about that.
So when are we gonna get and or make the biscoff cinnamon roll?
I'm not gonna make it. Are you gonna make it?
Do I have to?
I'm not gonna.
Does it have biscoph butter mixed into the icing?
I don't know the full scope of it.
And then crumbled up biscoth cookies on top.
Let me look. I don't I don't know the scope of it. I just told you.
I haven't seen it.
I'll look and see here.
Yeah. Is it the how to make it?
It looks like a crumbled up biscuff. Like in the cinnamon.
So in the inside.
There's crumbled up biscal cookie in the inside. Biscoff cinnamon rolls. Here we go. Are you
ready?
Some cinnamon. Some milk.
Yeah.
Some sugar.
Yeah. All the
good flour.
Okay, so far, so
good. Salt,
vanilla. Yep.
Eggs.
So good.
Mix it together.
Okay.
Butter.
Yep.
And then you let it rise.
Yeah.
There's no. Maybe they put in some brown sugar.
Okay.
Okay. Oh, there it is.
All right.
It's like a biscuff. Like they've whisked together. I don't know. I'm going to have to find the actual recipe.
It's just a video. Yeah.
But it's like they've put together, you know how they have that biscuff spread.
Uh-huh.
It's like they've put that in the middle of the cinnamon
roll, and then they roll it up. And then there's crumbled biscuff on top. I totally see.
You are gonna
love that.
Die for that.
Yeah.
Do you want to try to make it this weekend?
Why do I have to try to make it?
Because yes, I do.
Would you rather this or that?
Candy edition.
Halloween candy?
Just candy edition.
All right, what's up?
Reese's peanut butter cups or Snickers.
Snickers.
Snickers or Kit Kat.
Wait a minute.
What?
What is this a multiple one?
Yeah.
Snickers.
Over Kit Kat?
Yeah.
Okay. Snickers or Twix. Ooh.
Twix.
Oh. Okay. Twix or MMs.
Twix.
Twix or Skittles.
Twix.
Twix or Milky Way.
Still Twix.
Twix or Three Musketeers.
Still Twix.
Twix or Crunch Bar.
Still Twix.
Twix or Hershey's Tot Chocolate.
Oh, always Twix.
Okay. Uh, Twix or Gummy worms.
Twicks.
Twix or chocolate covered cinnamon bears.
Aww. Chocolate covered cinnamon bears.
Ooh, top dog.
Dark chocolate.
Chocolate covered cinnambears or there's originals.
Cinnamon bears.
Okay. Why
are you just naming old man candy now?
Because I know that that's what you like.
Now you didn't bring up those licorice little things that I love and can eat a whole bag of.
The the good and plenties, but better.
But better. Yeah, those are those.
Those are top dog.
Yes.
Over Twix?
Yes.
Over chocolate covered cinnamon bears?
Yes.
Really?
Yeah. Those are so good. So
good.
And then if you started naming off salty snacks, they would all win because I like those better than chocolate.
That's not necessarily candy.
No, it isn't candy at all.
It's just a can't. This is a candy edition.
So I'm just saying. You started going like potato chips. I'd be like, yep.
What kind of potato chips?
What potato chips are better? The ones I have in the truck right now.
You like those ones.
Yeah, I do.
The good ones.
The good ones.
That's the name of the bride. Good crisp, I think. Oh. Or
good chip, one or the other.
The good chip.
Lollipop.
Lollipop.
It's a good chip lollipop. Oh, this is a good reference. You don't know? Oh. Nice. You know how you have those little stims that make you uh it's it's uh Shirley Temple on the good chip lollipop.
Oh, yeah, yeah, yeah.
Good chip lollipop. And you are not with it.
You're not with it.
Whoa.
Say that. Okay.
Would you rather?
Okay.
What was it?
Reese's or I lost it.
Reese's or Snickers.
Snickers.
Snickers or Kit Kat.
Snickers.
Snickers or Twix.
Snickers.
Snickers or three musketeers.
Snickers. Snickers or Milky Way. Snickers. Snickers or Skittles. Snickers.
Snickers or almond Snickers.
Almond Snickers. Yeah. Yeah.
Almond Snickers or truffle.
Almond Snickers.
Almond Snickers or Ferrara Rochet. Oh. Oh.
Now you got me. Ferrero Rocher, right?
Ferrero Rochara. Would you rather this or that?
One of my favorite parts about Halloween is the uh super random creative ideas that kids can come up with.
Yeah. For a costume?
Yeah.
Yeah.
When our son, Kyle, he was probably three or four. He wanted to be an angry banana.
And we made that happen.
Did make that happen.
We found a little banana costume, painted his face, uh, a shade of yellow. It was not bright yellow. And then gave him very angry eyebrows.
He had angry eyebrows.
And he was an angry banana.
I don't know where that idea came from. No idea. But I just saw there was a post about there was a kid who wanted to be a Roomba.
No, again, like the vacuum. Yes.
Yeah. And then this is my favorite. My son wanted to be his dog and his dog to be him.
So they dress the little boy as the dog, and the the dog has like a shirt
and some arms and a wig.
That is hilarious. I think that's hysterical.
And then the dog could walk me. And kudos to the parents who come up with the costumes.
To make it happen.
The parents are like, okay, I don't know how I'm going to do this, but we are gonna, we're gonna do our best.
Yeah.
This kid wanted to be a flashlight. This kid was like, I want to be a m bowl of macaroni and cheese.
No kidding. How do you make that?
I don't know. I love it. Kudos, kudos, kudos to the parents who are staying up late, making paper mache hats. We have a friend who goes crazy with his kids' costumes.
He's seen some amazing stuff. I'm like, dude, you've been building on that for months.
I know he really does a good thing.
And then he turned it into a Halloween decoration on his front porch.
Yeah, I don't even know what that thing was. Do you remember what it was called?
It's a crazy uh big egg. I think it's from that monkey tag game, I think.
I can't remember what the name of it was. But yeah, he paper mached that huge thing. This kid wanted to be a tornado. Brilliant idea. Now listen, we've had instances in the past where our kids have had spirit days and they've had to dress up. And we've come up with creative costumes on the fly. Uh our son had a spirit day when he was in elementary school, and they was like, you had to dress up as I can't remember what the theme was. Maybe like a superhero or something. And we were like, we don't have any superhero costumes, but we were like, you could go as weather man.
Yeah, and that was that was for a school thing. And it was awesome.
It was awesome.
It was very last minute. And I had to draw weather uh icons. So there was a cloud with lightning and there was a raindrop and there was a sunshine and whatever. And they were just glued all over him, and then he had like a blue shirt and a tie tucked in like he was gonna deliver the weather, looking all cool weatherman with weather all over him.
That was awesome.
I am weather man.
So a huge shout out to the kids who have creative costumes. You get more candy from me if your costumes creative.
Oh, yeah. Love that.
And kudos to the parents who make it happen.
Yeah. Uh I can't imagine they're like, I want to be a Roomba. Uh like the dance. You know?
Like, no, like the vacuum the rumba.
And not the Roomba. It's not the same. See?
I would make it a pun. Oh, would ya?
And then everyone would be like, I don't get it. I'm like, it's a it's a rumba roomba. See, it's a vacuum that dances. The rumba roomba. It's hilarious. Let's wrap up the show. Have a good Thursday. We'll see you back here tomorrow on uh the second to last day of October.
Saboo
Halloween Eve.
Spooky.
Yeah. Spooky. That is tomorrow. We'll see you then. Have a good day.
Bye.
