This episode, we're gonna talk about some life updates, some weddings I have coming up, some things going on in the entertainment world.

Speaker 3:

We're gonna talk about grandma hobbies, making it cool. I'm of school. Kim. And we're gonna bring on Sydney Silverman, a fashion influencer, to talk about all of these summer trends and how to be like a cool girl. Okay.

Speaker 3:

Sounds fun. So first, let's chat about this wedding situation because what we've every time we've hung out and we're like, we're gonna do videos, it somehow turned into a fashion shopping And

Speaker 4:

we haven't bought a thing. No. Well, you know what? What the problem is, is what we've discussed is that you've got so many weddings that all, they all know each other. So you're, you're looking for different outfits.

Speaker 4:

Otherwise you're going to wear the same outfit to each of the weddings. They were all basically girls you went to Cornell with or whatever. And, so it's a little tough. Plus the fact they don't really look that good. I mean, we saw some pretty things.

Speaker 4:

So one would fit on the bottom, one didn't fit on the top. It was very they're very difficult.

Speaker 3:

It's really hard to

Speaker 4:

And then I liked one that you didn't buy, and I and I still think you should buy it. Worrying about a tiny little thing here that you didn't like, it looks so pretty on you. I I loved it.

Speaker 3:

Okay. Maybe we'll go back.

Speaker 4:

I will not today.

Speaker 3:

Not today. And we have some time for some of the wedding anyway. But, yeah, I feel like all of these are obviously, everyone has a different thing that looks good on them. So Right. Once you find something that looks good Just

Speaker 4:

buy and and get two colors.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Little

Speaker 4:

bit. Get a blue and a black.

Speaker 3:

Or just like

Speaker 4:

But you can't wear white, which I didn't realize even to the rehearsal dinner. No white for anybody who's attending. I said, I thought you could wear something like a white print. No. But no, that's gone.

Speaker 4:

So Yeah. It gets a little more difficult.

Speaker 3:

And it's like, obviously, I have some dresses in my closet that I didn't want to it's not as fun because it's like they're not new whenever, so I didn't wanna think of it as an option. But now that I see what's out there

Speaker 4:

Yours look mine

Speaker 3:

my my work, you know?

Speaker 4:

And and a couple of them that you gave away to to a friend Yeah. You should have kept because we're we're looking at the same things again. But, anyway, that's yesterday's news.

Speaker 3:

Also, every destiny they're all destinations. Right.

Speaker 4:

Which I think is crazy.

Speaker 3:

So then it's multiple outfits throughout not only for, like, night before night up, but it's, like, the packing, I mean, for all the day activities and things like that. A lot of Also, every destination has like a different climate and different vibe. So like, what I'm wearing in Boston isn't really what I'm wearing Newports. And isn't really what I'm wearing in Newport

Speaker 5:

No.

Speaker 3:

Where I have these weddings, Miami later this year.

Speaker 4:

I saw the greatest Newport dress, but the problem is you're not going in the summer. It had like sailboats on it. I loved it. Loved it.

Speaker 5:

It would have been

Speaker 4:

great for the rehearsal. But all right, it's very difficult and I think classic is the best way to go on this. First of all, you're packing and it's not like you can have somebody press it, so you need something that doesn't wrinkle terribly also. That's another thought and that you can get in one suitcase. No one's taking a steamer trunk to go to a weekend wedding.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Sydney Silverman, the fashion influencer we have coming on later in the episode, I'm gonna ask her all of these packing questions because I know she's always going on brand trips. She was in a long distance relationship. I know she's always traveling, and so maybe she has some tips for us.

Speaker 4:

She probably is in the same problem you're having. Probably.

Speaker 3:

Okay. Let's move on to the drama club. So in the entertainment world, there are two major movies getting sequels.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Speaker 3:

Meet the Parents. Oh, who's How in exciting is that? Love Glenn Diller, Bob De Niro, Blythe Danner. Oh, and Bill.

Speaker 4:

Not Barbra Streisand. I don't think she's gonna be in it again.

Speaker 3:

Didn't see her come. I saw, like, everyone else

Speaker 4:

was in it. Oh, my God. That was one of the funniest things.

Speaker 3:

Know. And Ariana Grande's gonna be in it. Okay.

Speaker 4:

Alright. Well, I have to update it because other people are 80 years old.

Speaker 3:

I think it's gonna be, like, their son. She's the one that he's getting married to or something dating or something.

Speaker 4:

Another generation.

Speaker 3:

Yes. And it comes out Thanksgiving next year.

Speaker 4:

Oh, I can't wait. I know. That was my funniest thing with Anna. I gotta go meet those parents and do all that. So good.

Speaker 4:

So good.

Speaker 3:

I did a rewatch of that the other day.

Speaker 4:

It's still funny. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Also, Freaky Friday, we have Freakier Friday coming out with in Lindsay Lohan and Jamie Lee Curtis. Okay. It's good when the

Speaker 5:

actual They've

Speaker 4:

been on TV a lot pushing it. I know. I've been watching it. I saw that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. And it's so interesting because, obviously, they're iconic and they They are. Like, look the same but also different. Lindsay obviously has gotten, like, a lot of Whatever. Work done to

Speaker 4:

Good for her.

Speaker 3:

She looks lovely. Amazing.

Speaker 4:

And Jamie Lee Curtis is just divine.

Speaker 3:

But, you know, lives in Dubai, Lindsay Lohan, because she moved there because they don't they have laws against people taking photos of you. So that's the only way she could like

Speaker 4:

Oh, isn't that interesting?

Speaker 3:

Get away from paparazzi. Like, it's not moving there. Obviously, probably films and stuff here, but she's based there, Okay. Which is so And this already came out. I watched it over the weekend, Happy Gilmore too.

Speaker 4:

Did you like that?

Speaker 3:

Mixed feelings. So, it was funny. I mean, it's not like an epic, but it's like a silly I think if you loved the first one, they did a lot of like callbacks to that first movie. But if you love golf, they have every famous golfer ever Oh, really? This movie.

Speaker 3:

At least 50 famous golfers from the ones that are popular today, like, you know, name one of them. He was in it. Scheffler. Whatever. Scottie Scheffler.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. He was

Speaker 4:

in it.

Speaker 3:

Then, like, the most iconic ones that were, like, around the time of, like, Arnold Palmer and stuff, like, they were in it too. Tiger Woods? No. Okay. Everyone but him.

Speaker 3:

So that was cool if you like golf, if you like to have those cameos, but

Speaker 4:

It's fun.

Speaker 3:

You know? It's fun. I like that he that Adam Sandler put his two daughters in it and his wife in it because

Speaker 4:

Well, that's a good way for them to stay together. Yeah. You know, it's a family business. I think that's terrific.

Speaker 3:

And the daughters are good and they've been acting in other things.

Speaker 4:

Exactly. I'm sure.

Speaker 3:

That's always fun to see. Like, even on their press corps tour on the red carpet, Adam Sandler's in, like, basketball shorts and a t shirt, and it's like, what are you doing?

Speaker 4:

Well, that's the way he looks.

Speaker 3:

He wears, like, an oversized jersey.

Speaker 4:

It's just so But that's funny. That's funny. And that's that's and he's relatable. See, so many of these stars come in with tuxedo and all this other jewelry hanging from them. Who could relate to that?

Speaker 4:

Adam Sandler with his basketball shorts. Everybody in America He's so relatable. Is relate he's related to him.

Speaker 3:

And even, like, I saw this TikTok that this girl posted just, like, somewhere in New York, you did a I actually don't know if was in New York, but I assume it was. He was just like doing a pickup basketball game with some guys on the side of That's

Speaker 4:

what he loves.

Speaker 3:

He's just so chill.

Speaker 4:

Good. Love that. Love that. Looking forward to seeing that.

Speaker 3:

Okay. Let's do the grandma report. So the article this week is there's actually a few places that wrote this article about reasons you should indulge in grandma hobbies by psychologists. So, basically, the main points of this article were people in their twenties and thirties are embracing traditional hobbies like knitting, journaling, crafting. Crafting.

Speaker 3:

Crafting. Lot of they're referred to as like grandma hobbies or grandma core. And this trend is, I feel like, kind of a digital detox because there's so much, like, fatigue. Relaxing. Exactly.

Speaker 3:

That it's relaxing. Correct. People actually reported improved well-being, stress reduction Mhmm. Stronger social connections. Because they're probably sitting around the table with their contemporaries Mhmm.

Speaker 4:

And they're enjoying what they're doing without having to look on their screens.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. It's community based.

Speaker 4:

Exactly. Which I think is terrific.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and I guess like knitting, baking, like they're all also hands on kind of like tactile calming.

Speaker 4:

Right, which makes you feel good.

Speaker 3:

They said that it boosts brain function, so learning those skills are like strengthening memory and focus and all these things too. But my memory must be very good because I play every game and I sew and I knit. So, I'm

Speaker 4:

waiting, my brain is gonna be just good.

Speaker 3:

Have you noticed the mental benefits yet?

Speaker 4:

Well, I actually, when I play bridge a lot, I do notice a difference because it makes you really think about the cards and you have to remember what was thrown or what your, you know, what your partner has done. So I do think all these games are very challenging. I even think Mahjong, which is getting very popular again. My mother used to play it. Her grandmother, her mother used to play it.

Speaker 4:

That is becoming very, it's like almost like a, playing gin with a card. So you see sequences, people see the numbers and they have to figure out how to do it. And I think it's also good for the brain. All these games make you think. Thinking is good.

Speaker 3:

So what's a ritual or activity that I should take on that you do in your life?

Speaker 4:

Well, I think you should play a card game. I actually think you can learn bridge and you could be very good at it because you're very good at canasta, that you don't have to take on, you are always good at that.

Speaker 3:

Maybe you have to play more.

Speaker 4:

And Marjang too, I can teach you. They're not difficult, bridge is difficult. Bridge you have to study and it's an ongoing, you never learn the whole thing. It's fine. You can play on many different levels, not playing in tournaments, but it's a fun game.

Speaker 4:

Listen, I learned in my late forties how to play. So, and it's wonderful. Listen, I even love to play gin. Anything with a number that you have to add, it makes your brain think.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, oh, I hate math though.

Speaker 4:

Yeah, but you can play with cards. Eight and eight made 16, you can do it.

Speaker 3:

Okay, wait, so what grandma hobby are we gonna take on together that you don't already do?

Speaker 4:

That we don't already do? Well, that I don't know. Don't know because I We're not mending, not mending.

Speaker 3:

Is that?

Speaker 4:

Sewing and and mending. There's a lot of mending going on on I've noticed that a lot of the the groups that where your grandmas had groups, together with their children, and they're all sewing their jean jackets. They're doing different designs in the back.

Speaker 3:

It's so hard. That to me is not relaxing. That's like stressful.

Speaker 4:

No, but it's not. It's like quilting. People who like to, who get into sewing, find it very, it's very peaceful actually. Tapestry needle. Well, we had a problem with the needle point.

Speaker 4:

I know. We didn't know we could go one way and then we had a problem turning it around.

Speaker 3:

I feel like I was before my time, because four years ago it was like, me knitting. Want, or needle point. I want to do this grandma hobby. And it was not relaxing for me. Was like, so I couldn't You get it

Speaker 4:

got too small a canvas. That was our part. You had to do a beginner canvas.

Speaker 3:

A lot of great color for me. But maybe I should go back to it and do it with a different canvas.

Speaker 4:

Exactly. Something easier so that you get the hang of it, then you could do it anytime.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I remember when I was visiting colleges, I got a sweatshirt at every college because I was like, at the end, I'm gonna turn it all into a quilt of You all the colleges that I never And those sweatshirts sat in mom's apartment for, like, five years, and she's like, you've now graduated your college. I don't think you're gonna make this quilt. Right. So, those are Okay.

Speaker 4:

It's a fun idea, though.

Speaker 3:

It's a fun idea, but maybe we can quilt something else.

Speaker 4:

Oh, something that's not college oriented.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. We're gonna do GrandmaGal's voicemail and see what someone needs help with this week.

Speaker 6:

Speaker 1:

Hi,

Speaker 7:

Grandma Gail. I'm a little sad right now. I live here in America, and I went to Italy a couple months ago. I met this guy, fell head over heels. He flew here to visit me.

Speaker 7:

We went on a very romantic trip to Mexico, and we just got back.

Speaker 5:

And

Speaker 7:

within days of us being back, he was already spending time with other women, ignoring me. Even though we aren't technically together, it just felt really disrespectful. He also randomly out of nowhere said he needed space. And then when I questioned it and got upset, he literally went off on me and told me he never wanted to speak to me again. And for days, felt really insecure, like something's wrong with me, and I don't feel like I did anything to deserve that or warrant that, but I'm just feeling down about it.

Speaker 3:

Baby, that is called gaslighting. When someone makes you feel bad for something that they did, they're gaslighting you. And it's so understandable and relatable that, like, you were started questioning yourself because that's what he made you feel like you had to do, but there is no world in which he could be painted in a good light for this situation.

Speaker 4:

And you probably went away on a trip too quickly. Yeah. I I I think that was something that that came out of too fast. And, you know what? He's a player and just let him go and you can't be upset because you did nothing wrong.

Speaker 3:

Naturally, you're gonna catch feelings when you're in Europe on a trip Exactly. With some

Speaker 4:

With the sun coming across the sky and the water being blue. But you know what? This isn't reality. You went too quickly into a trip with somebody you really didn't know well, and I think that the best thing is to say goodbye to this young man.

Speaker 3:

It's a hard one because it's like, you rather have not had that experience and like held back? Because you don't know. Maybe it could have been the love of your life when doing something like that with someone. But I guess if you're gonna do it, you have to like really be prepared. Don't know if you ever can, but like, if this doesn't work out, like, I am not gonna be heartbroken, but there's just no way to control that.

Speaker 4:

So but alright. Now she knows and now move on because there's no point dwelling on it. This is certainly not a guy that you should dwell on too long.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. So I guess it's just fine ways Yeah. To get over him and not about not feeling down about herself after a situation like Okay. I I think you're right.

Speaker 4:

Like no. Kim, I I wouldn't I I don't know. I I'm I'm really sad for her. She probably put herself into a too vulnerable position right away, and I'm hoping she just realizes that this wasn't the right guy, that's all.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, and it's nothing I

Speaker 4:

don't think we should spend too much time she should spend too much time dwelling over this. It wasn't that long a relationship.

Speaker 3:

Okay. So it's like, just fill your time and headspace with others.

Speaker 4:

Exactly. Go out with some friends, have some Okay.

Speaker 3:

Let's do a quick ask grandma anything that everyone wrote in on Instagram. So remember, if you wanna get your question answered, follow us on Instagram. Excuse My Grandma, we post a question box on our story all the time, and you can write in there. Someone said, any advice for their wedding day?

Speaker 4:

Take a Valium. It stressful? I I think I hopefully, everything is done by the wedding day, but there's always jitters the day of. And, you know, I'm sure she's been with this young man or, or he's been with this young woman for a while and don't worry about it. They'll, and you know what?

Speaker 4:

Somebody's dress isn't going to be right. Some relatives going to sit at the wrong table. The, the clergyman by come late. You know what? It all works out.

Speaker 4:

Everybody gets married. Everybody that the day is not the excitement will eventually become your life together. And, that's the important thing. So go through with it, look beautiful, have a good time as best you can. And, don't think about any of the little small details that's already gone.

Speaker 4:

It's done, Whatever it is it is. And, enjoy the day and then have a great time when you go away together and and just make a new life together and have just have a good future.

Speaker 3:

Okay. They wrote, I like this guy. I gave him my business card, but I haven't heard from him. Help. Well, if

Speaker 4:

he didn't call back, he's that's it. I mean, I don't know what the problem is here. Don't don't we get it if if somebody doesn't respond within a certain, let's say, a week or ten days, they they put it away or they threw away the card. So you know what? It was a good idea.

Speaker 4:

It could be a very nice man or a woman, but evidently the spark wasn't mutual. Or maybe he might the person might be already committed to somebody else. You don't know since you just met him casually. Situation. Exactly.

Speaker 4:

So I if somebody doesn't respond within a couple of days, I would just say it's not gonna happen.

Speaker 3:

You're probably right, but I do understand, like, I know with the girlfriend recently, she was like, she met this guy at a party and then later, bumped into him at a bar and was like, okay, this is your chance. Like, if you wanna he was she was thinking like, I hope he asked for my number, but he didn't. So it's like she's like, should I follow him on Instagram and get him to, like, message me that way? But I guess if he didn't ask for her number, he doesn't wanna go out with

Speaker 4:

her. Exactly.

Speaker 3:

Unless he's not aware that she's interested

Speaker 4:

or No. It's too much conversation. Okay. If somebody's interested in you, they'll call you. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Dating hasn't changed from when I was dating. If somebody likes you on-site, they'll ask for your number.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. So I guess the answer is Two shots, he's out. Just look for somebody else because he's not calling. Okay. Someone said, what do you think about gentle parenting?

Speaker 3:

Do you know what that is? No. Not really. It's like an approach now that's very popular to raising children that is kind of about empathy and, like, boundaries without using fear or punishment. Oh, wow.

Speaker 3:

So it's like the kids let kids learn best through connection, not through coercion. So it's like you treat children as, like, real individuals with people and thoughts and feelings.

Speaker 4:

Well, they're not. They're not. They're little munchkins and they need to have parameters and they need they need to have structure. So, you know what? All this parenting raises a group of kids who have absolutely no idea what's right or wrong.

Speaker 3:

I don't think I love the idea of gentle parenting.

Speaker 4:

Okay. Govady, don't call me. Don't call me when the kid is naughty.

Speaker 3:

Like, for example, like if you would have said like, because I said so. So like, why can't I do this? You would be like, because I said so. A gentle parenting person would be like, let me explain why you can't

Speaker 4:

do This is so bad. Forget it. You're And when you would have been like, you're in

Speaker 3:

a timeout, gentle parenting would I be like

Speaker 4:

wouldn't have said a time out. I said, would have just said, no, you can't do it. Yeah. Right.

Speaker 3:

But like, instead of being punished,

Speaker 4:

like you Nobody would punish.

Speaker 3:

You wouldn't always threat or at least mom should be like, you're punished. She would say that all the time.

Speaker 4:

Well, what was she punishing? Was she sending you to Alcatraz?

Speaker 3:

I mean, there's Nothing. But I guess just the verbal verbal. About it. And general parenting would be like, let's problem solve this

Speaker 4:

together. Unless you're a psychoanalyst, don't go that way. Alright.

Speaker 3:

Grandma's favorite clothing style era. Clothing style era? I think probably

Speaker 4:

I don't know. I I think probably now. Don't I think it's any one time. There were little bits and pieces of every decade that I've enjoyed and taken bits and pieces from and probably still own some of the articles. But, you know, I basically like classic, so I would say it's always been the same.

Speaker 3:

Well, now that we're on the topic of fashion, let's go get Sydney Silverman. She's a fashion influencer I've been following for a while. She has a very, like, aesthetic feed. She's such a cool girl. And we're gonna talk all about what she has been loving for trends this summer.

Speaker 3:

Sounds like fun, Kim. Okay. We are joined by Sydney Silverman. Welcome to Excuse My Grandma.

Speaker 5:

Thanks for having me. I'm so excited.

Speaker 3:

We're so excited to ask all of our fashion questions.

Speaker 4:

Fall questions Yeah. For me.

Speaker 3:

Yes. We're gonna get into fall trends. We're gonna talk summer trends. Love it. First, is this rope belt weird?

Speaker 3:

And am I wearing it right? No. I like it.

Speaker 5:

When you came in the room, I was like, that is so chic.

Speaker 3:

Okay. Because I haven't asked your advice on that.

Speaker 4:

I like it.

Speaker 3:

And I just got it and, like, ripped the tag off, and I don't know.

Speaker 4:

No. I like it.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I have both of your signs of approval. Feel now I can relax and actually get into the podcast. So tell us a little bit and our listeners about your content creator background and how you got into fashion.

Speaker 5:

Absolutely. Well, the content creation kinda came really natural. Like, it really was never the plan, which was crazy. I had a full nine to five, and I was kinda just, like, dressing up for work every day and putting on cute things. And I, like, love shopping.

Speaker 5:

My mom loves shopping. So I've always been obsessed with clothes. So I kinda just started of, like, putting on my outfit for works every day, showing that. I also loved watching other people unbox things. So that was actually my first viral video, which was funny, but, like

Speaker 3:

What brand was it? Do you remember?

Speaker 5:

It was that I bought things from.

Speaker 2:

I

Speaker 5:

well, I came back from vacation, and I bought, like, so much stuff.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. While you're away.

Speaker 4:

Okay.

Speaker 5:

I had, like, probably, like, 15 boxes of stuff.

Speaker 3:

I love watching those too.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. And, like, obviously, none of it was PR at the time. It was just me buying everything.

Speaker 3:

Mhmm.

Speaker 5:

So I was like, oh, this could be fun. I'll just, like, unbox things in front of the camera and, like, show people what I bought. And it kinda went viral, so I was like, okay. Like, that was fun. But

Speaker 3:

It's actually a good distinction, though. Like, I love watching the ones where it's naturally someone's taste on Yes. When they went away or whatever it was

Speaker 4:

Uh-huh.

Speaker 3:

Versus, okay, here's the PR that I got that I didn't think

Speaker 5:

Me too. Like, depends on who

Speaker 4:

they are. Some of these girls Yeah. Who do it.

Speaker 3:

I have a couple

Speaker 4:

that I really watch. I love the way she puts the outfits that she's

Speaker 5:

100%.

Speaker 4:

Clearly advertising.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

But she's also five eleven and a tiny, tiny size two, and everything looks good on her. Yeah. But she dresses it up and she puts accessories with it. And some of that, they're really very talented, a lot of the girls on on the Instagram. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

I love it. So excuse me. No.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. So I pretty much kinda just did that, and it was like one of those stories that I was, you know, doing my nine to five working weekends for them and then I would come back late from work and like answer my emails and ask my boyfriend to like shoot my content on the weekends. And then it kinda got to the point where it definitely grew and it was hard to obviously do both because they really are both two full time jobs.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

And you can't really do them both, honestly, once you get to a certain And so I kinda took the leap and I was like, okay, I'll give myself two months. So was like, if I see it actually paying off and seeing that I'm busier than I was even before, then I guess we have something going on. And if not, like, Yeah. Always go

Speaker 3:

because I was gonna say for aspiring content creators, like, how do you know when you have the legs for it to become a full time thing? Like, after the two months, like, what was the metric? You're like, okay, I'll do it full time.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. I think it was when I honestly just got busier than when I was before, which was even more shocking to me. I also wanted to see if I was to actually put all my time and energy into my content, if that would actually pay off and being able to focus on it 100%. And I really did see that. And so now it's been, I think, like almost a year of me doing it full time, That's which is great.

Speaker 5:

Crazy.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Terrific.

Speaker 3:

Grandma, do you remember when we decided to do excuse well, when I decided to do

Speaker 5:

excuse You do.

Speaker 3:

With Grandma full time, do you remember, like, you urging me to or not urging me to? Because I can't remember conversation around that.

Speaker 4:

Well, think we were on a terrace in Florida. Was right, it was after COVID, right. I think we discussed when it became profitable because nothing was very profitable the first couple of years, the first year of COVID.

Speaker 3:

So The first, like, six months.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. I I think then we we all of a sudden saw people approaching us to do things and we were getting paid for it. So then I then I knew it was really could be actually a business.

Speaker 3:

That's when you took it seriously, but I actually agree, Sydney. I felt like it was when I was like, if I want to take this further, I actually don't have the capacity

Speaker 5:

Yeah. To do both Yeah.

Speaker 3:

With also my job.

Speaker 5:

Totally. There's so much that goes on behind the scenes. Right. I feel like a lot of times people don't

Speaker 4:

see it. People don't understand that.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. But, yeah, doing both of it was definitely it was fun. It was challenging. I was working my butt off, but I'm very happy and excited just to kinda be able to do one now.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. And I love following you. I also feel like you have a very distinct style. How did you find what your personal style was? Because as you sat down, I was also saying, like, I struggle with that, and I think a lot of girls don't really know how to find their own aesthetic.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. GrandmaGail has such a specific one, but I wanna what what do you think?

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Kinda going back to honestly, like, my mom. My mom was, like, one of my biggest fashion inspirations. Like, growing

Speaker 4:

up That's sit usually what

Speaker 5:

in her closet for, hours, and I would just try on everything, and she's, like, also such a fashionista, so I love it. And so she's the one that kinda really got me into jewelry and clothing and everything and kinda just, like, learning my own personal style. But I truly do feel like my style is constantly evolving. Like, I was even looking at photos of myself a year ago, and it's changed even so much then. So I kinda just thinking it's like whatever makes you feel good about yourself and comfortable.

Speaker 5:

Like, honestly, like, my favorite outfit is wearing jeans and, like, a white tee and just putting really fun accessories to it. But I feel like it's just really all about like finding your balance, like looking at Pinterest sometimes for inspo or TikToks. I feel like that's always helpful.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

See, I see that see, it's interesting because we've discussed this so many times. Yeah. Kimberly and I are very short.

Speaker 5:

You're

Speaker 4:

you're mid height. You're you're a better height. And so it's very easy for you to really find, you know, style that's being created now in the stores. It's much harder for the petite ladies out there. So for the the people who are listening, you know what I mean.

Speaker 4:

So we have to find something that fits our shape but yet is trendy, you know, you can't always be like a Twiggy. You have to look at your we're hourglass, so we have to look what looks good in an hourglass figure. So it's really all about knowing what your, I think, body type is and then adapting a style that you like, of course, and you feel is au courant. It's not as easy as a lot of people think.

Speaker 5:

No. Definitely not.

Speaker 4:

You can't I look at also, I think, can't look at the models that you see on several of the Instagrams because they really, first of all their bodies are amazing and they're very, very tall. I don't see any short people on Instagram except us. You and I bring down the averages. Don't know about that. Don't see any other That's not I we gotta we gotta find if there are any other short people.

Speaker 4:

I think we are.

Speaker 3:

Except mean, we're gonna get more to, like, specific trends.

Speaker 4:

Right.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

But do you think your body shape or your age, like, prevents you from following a certain trend, or is it just the way you could style that trend?

Speaker 5:

Yeah. That's a good question. I don't think so, honestly. I think, like, I love to dress conservative, but then there'll be some nights that I wanna dress like I'm 21 again

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

And have fun with it. And, like, I love both sides of that. Will say, like, I feel like sometimes I feel my best when I'm, like, in a baggy pair of jeans or something that is a little bit more conservative. But I feel like, like, you don't really have to follow just, like, one lane of it. Like, you could really explore everything and try a bunch of different things and see what you think looks best.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. You're right. Maybe it's like try it on your Try it all. You know what Yeah. Feel good in.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Out for dinner with your girlfriends. Right. And if you are loving your outfit, it's great. Take a photo of it too and save it in your album so you can remember that outfit for later.

Speaker 4:

That's a good tip, That's a good tip.

Speaker 3:

When you are taking pictures with your friends or with your boyfriend, that helps that he's, we're saying he's a filmmaker, so I guess he knows, like, your angles,

Speaker 5:

He's the best with it. Like, I love when he gets to shoot my content. You know, I have a very short window when I do, but we use it to the best

Speaker 3:

of my abilities. So funny. Yeah. But when you're doing that, how do you decide what outfit you wanna post

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

On your grid? Because I feel like sometimes there's so much pressure. I'm like, this outfit wasn't good enough or Totally.

Speaker 5:

You know. Yeah. It's funny. Honestly, I don't, like, think about that. Maybe I should more, but I kind of just dress for like the occasion, like if I'm going out or to a concert or to dinner and whatever I put on, I'll just be like, oh, let's spend ten to fifteen minutes before and take a couple cute pictures.

Speaker 5:

So I don't usually really plan like an outfit for Instagram, but I love maybe that it comes across like that. Yeah. No.

Speaker 3:

I mean, that's probably the better way to do it because it's like you're actually dressing for your real life.

Speaker 4:

That's Now the question is now alright. We've been searching Yeah. Because I'm sure you're in the same boat as Kim is wedding venue and the night before and then I never knew don't we never really did these kind of extravagant four day wedding situations, the night you're not allowed to wear anything white if you're not the bride. So even the rehearsal dinner, no white. No white.

Speaker 4:

So because we saw something in a window and it was like a plaid. It was very pretty. The background was white. Kim says, no.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. No white.

Speaker 3:

Shocked that she was like, just wear that white lace dress in your closet.

Speaker 4:

It wasn't white lace.

Speaker 3:

It was cream. It was cream. Not the white lace.

Speaker 4:

It was cream. It was like a a cream lace. Alright. Well, you correct me.

Speaker 5:

Know. There's such beautiful colors too that I wish I could, but, yeah, I feel like staying away from that. But honestly, borrowing dresses because I'm very much in my wedding friend season of everything, and obviously, you feel the pressure of, like, having a new outfit for every occasion. Yeah. And even going online, it's, like, hard for me to find

Speaker 3:

Mhmm.

Speaker 5:

A dress that's at a reasonable price. So honestly, a lot of my girlfriends and I have just been switching dresses. Right. Yeah, because we're all in it, and we all obviously want to have a new outfit, but it's hard to be reasonable and be like, I can't spend, you know That kind of month. Every single wedding that I have.

Speaker 5:

And and to your point, like, four nights of it.

Speaker 3:

It's You must have very stylish friends. They're great. I love my friends. I don't think I wanna No.

Speaker 4:

You're the most stylish of all of them.

Speaker 3:

No. No. No.

Speaker 4:

They're Don't laugh. They're a They're a couple.

Speaker 3:

Or a couple. Yeah. But yeah. I don't know. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I also feel like if you're going to the same I mean, depends if Yeah. They have different friend But if you're all going to the same ones and then you're like, wasn't she wearing

Speaker 5:

a shirt? Honestly, nobody remembers.

Speaker 4:

But there's also company that my friends said, they rent them. Yeah. Like, rent them. Very big business now. I think people

Speaker 5:

rent so

Speaker 4:

smart, honestly. Smart. Yeah. It is smart. They clean it.

Speaker 4:

They fix it. You know? And then you send it back after the weekend because you're never gonna wear them again here. No.

Speaker 5:

That's yeah. That's the hard part about the wedding dresses.

Speaker 3:

I also feel like your style is very, like, effortless, cool girl. Like, how you're saying, like, baggy jeans and a tank top. Yeah. You do like that kid. Love that.

Speaker 3:

I want to be more like that. Yeah. And I feel like I don't know if people have been like, you have that cool girl aesthetic, if you've heard that a lot.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

I definitely would say that about you. Thanks so much. How would you, like, give people the advice to wear that effortless look?

Speaker 5:

Totally. I think definitely investing in really good basics, like a really good pair of jeans that fit you, a really good white tee. And then personally, I just love to accessorize it. And I think those things you don't really have to invest that much money in, a really fun shoe with a really fun bag or a statement earring or rings. So I think there's a lot of ways you could kind of just make that effortless that really doesn't have you think if you're rushing to get ready, but it still looks really cool.

Speaker 4:

See, I think instead of the jean, most people have a good pair of black pants.

Speaker 3:

Yeah, like a trouser.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. A trouser. I love a trouser. That's a tremendous you go to the office, it goes for dinner, it goes for lunch, it goes for anything you want. That to me, it's any pant that fits properly.

Speaker 4:

And then a white basic, I would say mantelet shirt or silk shirt or whatever, whatever the shirt would be. And then wear, if you wanna wear a little tee underneath it, that's fine too. But I think basics are basics. A nice black shoe, a good black bag. And the other thing, if you wanna do a a funky pink bag or green bag, don't spend a lot of money on it.

Speaker 4:

To TJ Maxx and go look on the racks. But basics, beige, black, you know, blue, those kind of things should be good quality that you keep forever. See, I I, you know, I mean, a good pair of black pants until you could last a very long time if they're tailored. I'm not saying you know, they do change season to season. I know you do.

Speaker 3:

Season. You're always like, well, you already have a pair of black pants. Was like, no. No. No.

Speaker 3:

Those were high waisted

Speaker 4:

shoes. Know. We're not the whole thing.

Speaker 3:

Kids do. Right. Always different.

Speaker 4:

Right. Well, that's true. Well, they have to. Otherwise, they wouldn't be in business.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. That's true. I was saying your shoes are amazing and iconic.

Speaker 4:

Well, my shoe my Chanel shoes are iconic, and I have and that's the only shoe I wear, so I have it in a lot of colors, and they don't go out of style.

Speaker 3:

Never. The Chanel ballet.

Speaker 4:

Which you've seen on Grandma's feed 9,000 times if you've watched our podcast.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. Grandma, what do you think used to be a marker of a cool girl back when you were younger?

Speaker 4:

I don't know. I was younger. I was married, so I don't think I was ever really I think I was wearing what was Eau Caron and the type. I wore, you know, like when I was in college, I would wear the tight little, what do they call those capri things? All come back.

Speaker 4:

They're all back. I wish I had them. I

Speaker 5:

wish you could.

Speaker 4:

I don't think I'm the same size anymore, but, you know, whatever looks good on you, you have to do what I still say it's body type. If you can wear a capri capri on the bottom, I was short so I would never wear an oversized top. Yeah. Basically I would wear a tailored top. So and I still love a jacket.

Speaker 4:

I love a tailored jacket. Me too. I know that it's fun to wear something a little outlandish and I don't mind it if you don't spend a lot of money on it. I mean, I was listening to somebody the other day. One good jacket can last forever.

Speaker 4:

You can put it with pants. You can put it with a skirt. You can put it with a Yeah. Tool And it's perfect. So, I would invest in quality items and the other stuff should be fun.

Speaker 4:

I mean, you know, t shirts, they get washed out anyway in one season. Don't spend a lot of money on a t shirt. You can find a nice t shirt, a white t shirt or whatever color you have.

Speaker 3:

White t shirts are another thing though. Like Yep. I have one that I hate and then one that I love. I know. Both white t shirts.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. But they're very individual.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Like every single my tees are for different occasions.

Speaker 3:

Yes. Like only then

Speaker 4:

I know that.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. That's very much Anyone anyone else can know.

Speaker 5:

No. A 100%.

Speaker 3:

No, but I also meant not even with fashion, like, what do you think makes someone a cool girl?

Speaker 4:

I don't know. I never thought about it, sweetheart.

Speaker 3:

Really? Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Maybe just feeling good about yourself and your attitude. When you walk in a room, you think you look hot. I always thought I looked the best in the room. I never even thought about it. I always you know, that was my thing.

Speaker 4:

I think that's something your parents ingrain in you. You get a certain amount of self confidence. Yeah. You know, you walk in the room. Everything.

Speaker 4:

And and that's about everything. You know? You could don't have to be the best of at anything, but if somebody thinks you are, then that's all that matters.

Speaker 5:

I think confidence and, like, having a good attitude and being nice

Speaker 3:

Yeah, a being cool girl. Exactly. I agree, actually. It's nice and you're not trying too hard.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. And you're like, genuine. For other people. Exactly. Especially in this industry because it could get a little crazy sometimes.

Speaker 5:

I think just like rooting for your friends and for others, and there's a space for everyone.

Speaker 3:

Exactly. Okay. Let's get into the summer fashion trends Yeah. That you think are cool and that you're loving this But actually, like, can we get into how to style them? Not just like this, that, that.

Speaker 3:

Because I feel like I wouldn't know how to pair some things together.

Speaker 5:

A 100%. Well, so first of all, I've been very into sheer for the summer. Okay. And whether that's like a sheer skirt and you kinda wear something like oversized over it, or I've been wearing, I just wore it actually, this like sheer set and kind of could be like for the beach and then transfer it to nighttime. I feel like also finding the right like under pieces for that

Speaker 4:

is what it like. Yeah. That's so hard.

Speaker 3:

I feel like the look of wearing like intimates out of the house Yes. And being like in your pajama or in boxer shorts is very in. But how do you wear a sheer outfit? Like, what are you putting under it?

Speaker 5:

I think it can go either two ways. You could either really just try and make it actually sheer doing like the nude underwear, the pasties, or kinda doing the opposite where you'll wear, like, a black bra or something so it looks like it's supposed

Speaker 3:

Yeah. To

Speaker 5:

So I think it kinda depends on the outfit. But

Speaker 4:

The time of day. Yeah. Definitely the time day. And at night, I I think it's a great look. Yes.

Speaker 4:

You know, you once had a top like that. You hated it. You had a sheer top with the and if you wore a black undergarment under, it looked great. Oh, I know exactly. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

And and you never liked It the wasn't really sheer.

Speaker 4:

It was sheer enough. It was sheer enough.

Speaker 3:

You could see my bra.

Speaker 4:

You could see yeah.

Speaker 5:

But that's the

Speaker 4:

point. You have but you have to feel good in it.

Speaker 5:

Yes.

Speaker 4:

See, that's the whole message to everybody. If it's not if you don't feel comfortable, then it's not going to be cool because it really isn't you. Yeah. So you that's the you know, really the lesson learned.

Speaker 5:

My best nights are when I like my outfit the most.

Speaker 3:

Exactly.

Speaker 4:

And you feel good about yourself.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Exactly.

Speaker 3:

Okay. What's another one?

Speaker 5:

Another one I would say is probably like little shorts and a baggy tee. I feel like I love like the micro mini shorts right now. I also love cowboy boots for the summer.

Speaker 4:

Oh, see, Kim? You. We're at you a wedding, and I said, wear the best

Speaker 3:

Let with black me just say, though, that the wedding In Aspen. Made sense to wear cowboy boots. But No. Not anywhere.

Speaker 5:

I'm saying anywhere. Really? I think you could, like, throw on a cute linen dress and put the cowboy boots on. I think we can't wear

Speaker 3:

it for fall.

Speaker 4:

Maybe in Montauk. No. Not in New

Speaker 3:

I think it's cool. I do see people wearing it, but sometimes I'm like, in the summer, why are we wearing leather boots?

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Leather might be a little hard. Okay. But I don't know.

Speaker 4:

I'm in LA.

Speaker 3:

Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

It's be LA look.

Speaker 3:

Cold enough at night.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Yeah. Good LA look.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I'm going obviously, next week, I'm gonna see you Oh, yeah. LA. Yeah. Well, I'm going tomorrow.

Speaker 3:

But I was thinking even with packing and stuff, like, I like to preplan my outfits when I'm going away, then I feel more confident when I'm there versus

Speaker 5:

The best thing to do.

Speaker 3:

Here, I feel like I look like shit every day because I, like, don't manage. I do. I don't, but I'm saying, like, I don't plan outfits. Yeah. It's like my family closet there.

Speaker 4:

I do. So you can fool around when you're away. Have a limited amount of things. Almost better, though. Well, for you.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Well, yeah, for someone indecisive, maybe. But how do you pack for those long trips? And when you were long distance, especially, like Oh my god. Dealing with the climate and going back and forth

Speaker 5:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

How did you know, like, how to pack a cute outfit

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

In advance? When you don't know what you're gonna be feeling

Speaker 5:

like Yeah. The day. I feel like for trips, I've, like, mastered it just because I feel like I'm on an airplane now more than I am on, like,

Speaker 3:

I'm this still traveling all the time.

Speaker 5:

Always. Yeah. It never stops, but it's fun. But I what I do is, I try to give myself a week in advance because there's always things that you're forgetting last minute. Mhmm.

Speaker 5:

So I like to gradually pack over the course of the week, and then I try on everything with the accessories, with the earring, and I take a photo of myself. Then

Speaker 4:

all That's good for of you. Yeah. No. It's a pretty good tip. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Detail. Like, it's pretty intense. It's very detailed.

Speaker 5:

And then what I'm also type a personality, but I'll have my entire itinerary, like, in my notes. Again, like, if we know what we're doing. And then I'll drag the photo that I put to the deck.

Speaker 3:

The activity.

Speaker 5:

And again, it doesn't happen all the time, but when I do do this, my life is so much easier, and it just makes getting ready for those vacations so fast.

Speaker 3:

It's so true, and I try to be that way.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

But then you always help me pack, Grandma, and you're always like, okay, I'm fed up with, like, figure after one outfit, you're like, just throw in pants that you know will work with tops and then, like, being able to swap it.

Speaker 4:

Yeah.

Speaker 3:

But then when I get there, I try on every outfit. Somehow it Yeah. Doesn't go looks then better in your head. Boyfriend's like, why is my house a mess? Always.

Speaker 3:

So, like, I would love to do that this time around.

Speaker 4:

Well, I think the thing is you take too much. So if you took a pair of white pants and a pair of jeans and a pair of black linen and that's it, the bottoms are done, now you have to coordinate at the tops with those three pair of pants and you've got to figure it out on your bed at home and then you know if you're gonna take a flower dress here and a and a polka dot dress here and a and a print here, and then you're all over the place.

Speaker 3:

I don't wanna be basic when I'm away.

Speaker 4:

Oh, well, then you

Speaker 3:

have the

Speaker 4:

other pack a lot. Then you gotta pack a lot because everybody I'm an overpack.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. I feel like when I was long distance, it was a little bit harder because my boyfriend's very spontaneous where I'm a very big planner. So I kind of got into that habit where I'd pack things that I wouldn't ever wear, like, just in case outfits.

Speaker 3:

So true.

Speaker 5:

But I would always make sure to have at least, like, two to three that I know for sure I will wear in, like, whatever occasion. And you could kinda dress it up or down, which

Speaker 3:

I should be kind of like the notes ideal though, because, like, Zach is very type a, so it's like, I already have calendar invites of every single hour. So I'm like, I could just put the outfit in there.

Speaker 5:

I think you should. I think try it when you go and then report back and

Speaker 3:

let you I will. You think we're crazy.

Speaker 4:

I do think you're crazy. I take a pair of black pants and a pair of navy when I go to Europe all the time, and I take a white shirt and then I add a couple of sweaters and it's fine. Goes everywhere.

Speaker 5:

A boot

Speaker 4:

or a dark black blazer and you're dressed. And it's ridiculous. There's no place that you need unless you're, you know, I'm not talking about a special occasion trip, but I'm just a trip that you're going to meet your boyfriend or your girlfriend on a trip. No, yeah, I know.

Speaker 5:

Fall is sometimes easier to dress though than summer.

Speaker 4:

Well, summer, of course, have the bathing suits and the cover up, so that's a different issue. Then you have to do a little bit of But the fall, you know, you just put it on with a pair of comfortable sneakers, a pair of flats, and you're dressed. First of a lot of times, I mean, almost want to take a small suitcase. I mean, you don't, but you can't make up your mind, but I can take a little wheelie and I've done it on a girl's trip and you know what? I don't even wear half the stuff that's really because you end up wearing the same pair of pants and you just change around the Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Well, we are boring.

Speaker 3:

I don't know. I feel like I

Speaker 4:

That's why I'm not a stylist. I'm only styling myself.

Speaker 3:

But you have the things in your closet. Like, I'm constantly I steal all of your bags and Yeah.

Speaker 4:

No, I have the accessories, but I'm not gonna you don't pack those things. It's too difficult. Yeah. You could.

Speaker 3:

Sydney, Yeah. I know you film with your mom sometimes and do, like, outfit checks. Do you steal things from her closet often?

Speaker 5:

Oh my gosh. Every time I'm home. Yeah. My dad gets so mad because he'll just get my mom something for, like, her birthday and then it'll be gone in two minutes. But she has the best stuff and she is like so much stuff throughout the years.

Speaker 5:

Oh, yeah. She's the best share. Also, my grandma has amazing statement jewelry. Like, this is actually So my I also steal everything from her.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Well, those because they are good. Yes. That's exactly what I'm saying. If you if you have good things, they never add a style.

Speaker 3:

But here's my question. Like, there are some things, like mom jeans. Mhmm. Like, that's a specific thing in your head where they're, like, not stylish jeans. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

But your mom probably has cool jeans that you're, like, stealing.

Speaker 5:

She's the best jeans.

Speaker 3:

So but are there things that

Speaker 4:

We wouldn't be going in my closet to steal anything.

Speaker 3:

No. Like, I steal so much from you. I would never steal your jeans.

Speaker 4:

No. No. You would be embarrassed.

Speaker 3:

I just wonder why there are certain things, like, that are generationally Yeah.

Speaker 5:

I think, like, maybe, like, my mom doesn't think she could wear a lot of the things that I can, but then I will introduce things to her and she realizes that she can. Like, just because I'm wearing it doesn't mean she can't. She'll just style it in a completely different way than I will.

Speaker 3:

Right. Because some things I'm like, would it look silly? Like, I don't know, jelly sandals

Speaker 5:

or

Speaker 3:

something, or like fish necklaces. Like, if you were or maybe you could get away with it, but like, if mom

Speaker 5:

was just wearing it.

Speaker 3:

I'd be like, a little immature.

Speaker 4:

Alright. Okay. But maybe you can. I don't know. No.

Speaker 4:

But there's not one style for everybody. That's that's why we have a million different choices today. Right. And that's what makes fashion fun.

Speaker 3:

Totally. I also wanted to hear your thoughts on, like, a good going out outfit because I feel like every girl struggles with what to wear.

Speaker 4:

On a first date?

Speaker 3:

What let's Like a Friday or Saturday night, you're going on a date or you're going with your friends. Like, what are you putting on?

Speaker 5:

Totally.

Speaker 3:

Like, you're always like black top and jeans, which I do.

Speaker 4:

Yeah. Or sexy top

Speaker 3:

and jeans. Yeah. What is a sexy top?

Speaker 4:

You have plenty of sexy.

Speaker 5:

Like a fun bodysuit.

Speaker 4:

Exactly. You have plenty.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Love a fun personally. Like, I'm such a pant person, whether it's jeans, a slack, a trouser, or a color, or anything like that. So I feel like if you pair that with something fun, like, love that. But I feel like for date outfits specifically, if you figure out those two outfits, whether it's like a really beautiful dress or kind of just like a body suit that makes you feel great, I and again, this is if you're going on multiple dates, not maybe with the same person, but Yeah.

Speaker 5:

Keep those two outfits

Speaker 4:

and just keep remembering them. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Exactly. I feel like when I was going on lots of dates Mhmm. My first date or second date outfits were really changing up, but then I wouldn't remember. I was like, did I wear this with this person already? And then that was a problem.

Speaker 4:

But you know, we're also talking to people who are older on the podcast, I can't remember where I am, that's why I'm older, but they have to think about what they're doing when they go out for dinner and where they're going. And it's the same concept. You put on something that if you remember it looked good on you to wear it to a different restaurant a couple of weeks later. You know, it's it's pulling out of the closet things that you know look good on you. Yeah.

Speaker 4:

And I really think the ones that don't look good on you, you should thrift. You should give it Yeah. Give it away.

Speaker 5:

I agree.

Speaker 4:

But sometimes the your eye changes the style of the jeans.

Speaker 3:

You just go through the massive, like No.

Speaker 4:

Different one of jeans, which is hysterical. I look in your closet, and you must have 80 pairs

Speaker 3:

of, like, 20. I'm the you only like one.

Speaker 4:

And so get rid of the others and give it to somebody who'll enjoy them.

Speaker 5:

Pretty much my new rule is that whenever I get something in, I don't have any more hangers,

Speaker 4:

so I have to take something out. I tell you that all the time.

Speaker 5:

To do it. I don't enjoy it. I really don't because

Speaker 3:

it's

Speaker 5:

hard to piece. And then in my mind, I'm like, oh, I haven't worn this in a year, but what if I wear it another time? I'm like, no. We're gonna donate it and give it away. Right.

Speaker 5:

But it's so funny. I just remember this too. I I remember in high school because I had a dress code, not a uniform. Mhmm. I would take photos of myself in, like, photo booth of, like, my outfits every day.

Speaker 4:

Yes.

Speaker 5:

And go back and do that.

Speaker 4:

Really started early. Yeah.

Speaker 3:

Yeah. I guess it's always been I mean, used to just lay out my outfits the night before, which is the same Yes.

Speaker 5:

Know. We need to start doing that more, honestly. Yeah. Bring it back,

Speaker 3:

like, middle school stuff. When it comes to vintage and second hand stuff,

Speaker 5:

Yes.

Speaker 3:

Where do you source pieces?

Speaker 5:

I need to delete all those apps off my phone, but I'm a big RealReal investier, and I actually just started getting into eBay, but I like scroll it like it's Instagram. It's I have my I know. I'm like maybe a little bit too good at it, but

Speaker 3:

It's a talent. It's not Yeah.

Speaker 5:

It's it's too addicting, honestly, but I've just kinda discovered eBay vintage, which I haven't before. I've seen

Speaker 3:

posts about it, but I haven't

Speaker 5:

seen Yeah, it was my first time doing it. I like found this Prada pony hair purse that I'm like It obsessed was like a very great price and they're like authenticated and everything. So I feel like it's I use it for two ways. Like that one I was searching for it or The RealReal, I'll kinda just like scroll and see what I find there and then keep it in my hearts and go back and Yeah. Hopefully no one buys it by then.

Speaker 3:

Right. So fun. Yeah. We love that. I mean, I basically shop in grandma and mom's closet.

Speaker 4:

I'm not able to think that they're really shopping though on a budget because most people out there, it's not their profession. They have to go to work, they have to think of different outfits to

Speaker 5:

go to work in.

Speaker 3:

They to just make up to splurge Well, off of vintage

Speaker 1:

know,

Speaker 4:

one vintage piece should be a good piece.

Speaker 5:

Yeah.

Speaker 4:

Like you're saying, the one special piece. Yes. Don't spend a lot of money on stuff that in six months is gone.

Speaker 5:

Yeah. Yeah, I agree.

Speaker 3:

Quickly, let's hear some of your fall trend

Speaker 4:

predictions.

Speaker 3:

That I wanted. Thought about it.

Speaker 4:

Are there colors? Like, we had a big yellow moment this summer.

Speaker 5:

Yellow, but I kinda think blue is also a summer moment, like a baby blue.

Speaker 4:

I love it.

Speaker 5:

I've kinda been shying away from the yellow a little bit even though I love it. Overtime. Kinda incorporating more baby blue this summer, which I love. But I think fall will definitely be a lot of things from last year, like the browns and the suede. I also think yeah.

Speaker 5:

Western. I love dressing a little bit Western.

Speaker 4:

So that's I'm that's still in.

Speaker 5:

I think that's still gonna be it. I think that's not going away at all. Maybe incorporating some new fun colors. Maybe I could see a baby yellow suede kinda coming into it, so kind of incorporating that a little But I think we'll definitely see a lot of those same things that we've kind of been seeing.

Speaker 3:

And as a content creator, do you kind of get ahead of it sometimes, and you're like, even though it's not quite fall yet, I'm gonna start posting some of those trends?

Speaker 5:

I just kinda, a little bit, and I also just get really excited for fall, I think. I think that's kind of my favorite season to dress for.

Speaker 4:

Me too.

Speaker 5:

I think you could go plaid. I think there's just so many fun elements that you obviously can't wear in the summer. So I definitely try and, like, get back all my pieces in, like, front of my closet. And, yeah, I think fall honestly is starting a little bit now, which is crazy. I've been scrolling a little bit and

Speaker 3:

seeing Not today in this 90 degree. I can't Not 90. You

Speaker 4:

told us the 100.

Speaker 3:

Oh, gosh. Well, Sydney, thank you so much for It's joining so fun seeing you. How can people find you and follow you?

Speaker 5:
