David Hill: Welcome to A Month in Minutes, where every message from the month meets in one place. One minute, one message, one Gospel.

A lot of commissions are given, but only one is the Great Commission. Hi, David Hill. Got a minute? Jesus said, "All authority hath been given to me in heaven and on earth. Go ye therefore, and teach all nations, baptizing them in the name of the Father, Son, and the Holy Spirit, teaching them to observe all things whatsoever I have commanded you. Lo, I'll be with you always, even to the end of the age" [Matthew 28:18–20].

Why is it a great commission? It's given by God through His Son, our Savior, Jesus Christ, to His people for all the world. It's great because of the great salvation that's offered through it: salvation from sin, eternal life. It's great because of the great peace that comes from within it. Great because all the world's history has been orchestrated around it. It's great because no earthly boundary can hold it, and the powers of sin and death couldn't stop it. Matthew 16 and verse 18, Jesus said, "Upon this rock, I'll build my church; gates of hell, Hades, shall not prevail against it" [Matthew 16:18].

Ever wondered why the devil? I have. Got a minute? How did the devil get into the place he is? Jesus said it's because he abode not in truth [John 8:44]. And the truth is not in him. He's a murderer and a liar and the father of it, Jesus said. God didn't introduce evil into the world, but the devil did. He fell because of it. You and I can, too [Revelation 21:8].

A lot of lying is going on in this world. Where does it come from? The devil. And those who practice such are going to spend eternity with him in hell. Seek truth. Tell the truth and live. That's the Gospel.

You know, God's plan for our salvation had many facets. Hi, David Hill with the Gospel Minute. Remember God's call to Moses from the burning bush [Exodus 3]? Did that have something to do with our salvation? Sure it did. It was a part of the plan to bring Jesus Christ into the world to save you and me [Luke 20:9–18].

Echoes from that burning bush are still heard today in the saving message of the Gospel [Matthew 28:18–20]. You see, those old accounts are not just good stories. They're a historical record of what God did to save the world, to save you, to save me.

There's an old Gospel song entitled "Echoes From the Burning Bush." Can you hear them? Do you believe it? As that old song says, "Do you believe it without a thought of shame to blush?" Hear the Gospel of Christ. Believe it, obey it, and be saved.
