James Dooley:
Who would you look to subscribe to if you're new to SEO or you're an advanced SEO already?
Karl Hudson:
Personally, I would always start with one of the OGs of the industry — Matt Diggity. His videos are really high-quality, he explains things in a really good way, and especially if you're a newbie, it's a great way of entering SEO and getting your feet on the floor. I definitely recommend Matt Diggity — big shout-out.
James Dooley:
Yeah, for sure. He's got a great YouTube channel. For me, Authority Hacker — so Gael Breton and Mark Webster. Two great guys. The production of what they're doing on YouTube is great, the knowledge is always very advanced, and they've got an amazing training course. They do a great job for the SEO community and I’d definitely follow them on YouTube.
Karl Hudson:
From personal experience I’d go for Ahrefs. They do a very good YouTube channel that’s descriptive, mostly tailored around their tool, but they go into general SEO knowledge too. Using their tool will help you do things quicker, and they have fantastic high-quality video production.
James Dooley:
Yeah, sometimes when I'm watching some of the Ahrefs videos, even I didn't realize some of the stuff you could do with the tool. While we're on companies instead of individuals, I’d recommend ODYS Global. They have a mentorship program and bring on a lot of different mentors. Their podcast covers everything related to SEO, not just aged domains. I strongly recommend subscribing to ODYS Global.
Karl Hudson:
Following on again from a company point of view, I'd say Niche Pursuits — Spencer Haws. Absolutely fantastic channel. He’s always testing things, has had successful SaaS products, and delivers great information.
James Dooley:
For sure. I'm going to throw Julian Goldie into the mix. He does a lot with AI and talks about different ways of making money. His YouTube channel is very active — pretty much daily uploads — and he covers grey hat, black hat, and white hat techniques. I definitely recommend subscribing to Julian Goldie.
Karl Hudson:
I’d also say he’s genuinely a really nice guy. The next guy on my list unfortunately isn't as nice — he's a pain in my backside — but James, I’d have to say you. You've been hammering it for the last 12 months and your growth has been huge. You cover mindset, business, lifestyle, SEO interviews, and you're really connected in the community. Definitely a great guy to follow.
James Dooley:
Cheers! I’m going to return the favor by recommending Karl Hudson. He’s getting more active now, has founded and built successful brands, and is realizing personal branding matters. He covers backlinks, SEO, topical authority, business, lifestyle — definitely someone to follow whether you’re new or advanced.
Karl Hudson:
Not blowing my own trumpet — but appreciate it. The next one on my list is Kyle Roof. He has a story for everything, explains things in a relatable way, and is great for beginners and advanced SEOs because he pushes the envelope with advanced techniques.
James Dooley:
I'm going to go with Koray Tugberk Gübür. He has an amazing YouTube channel about semantic SEO, topical authority, contextual vectors, entities, macro and micro content. His videos take a lot of learning, but they're brilliant. Big shout-out to Koray.
Karl Hudson:
The next guy on my list is Charles Floate. Very well known in the industry. He started very young and is known for black-hat SEO, though I’d argue he’s more grey-hat now. He's always testing things and stays updated with algorithm changes.
James Dooley:
If you go from a nice guy, then I’ll go with someone who isn’t — Kasra Dash. The guy works seven days a week, 14 hours a day, hustling and testing constantly. He uploads daily and pushes boundaries, so he's definitely someone to follow on YouTube.
Karl Hudson:
The next one for me is Jason Hennessey. He hasn't posted for a few months but usually has high-quality content. He focuses heavily on legal SEO, owns Hennessey Digital, and even a film studio now. Great guy, huge company.
James Dooley:
For sure. I'm going to throw in Craig Campbell — over a million subscribers, a legend in the SEO community. He does tons of testing, shares data, and debunks myths. He's a very advanced SEO and definitely worth following.
Karl Hudson:
Next is Mad Singers. I’d argue he isn't as high-level SEO-wise as others on the list, but he’s top-tier in business management and training. He helps people move past the one-man-band stage, improve mindset, and grow stronger teams.
James Dooley:
He's helped me a lot as well. I'll go back to another OG — Nathan Gotch. He has a great podcast on YouTube, always ahead of the game, and definitely someone to follow for SEO videos.
Karl Hudson:
The next guy is Jason Mills from The Affiliate School. He shares case studies, niche insights, and his content is great quality and easy to follow.
James Dooley:
Last but not least — SEO Jesus, aka Stuart Vickers. He posts regularly, does interviews, and is part of several testing groups. He covers black hat, grey hat, white hat, technical SEO — a great all-rounder to follow.
Karl Hudson:
We hope you like the list of SEO channels we’d subscribe to on YouTube. There are many more we could have added — we could talk all day — but here’s a short and sweet list of our top recommendations.
